801  Economy / Lending / Re: Altcoinhosting's long term loans. Giving loans up to 0.1 BTC on: October 15, 2015, 01:57:06 PM
well I have an origin account with 400$ worth of games and a steam account

Sorry man, you seem legit, but i can't take those accounts as collateral... I just don't have enough knowledge about them to estimate if they are valid and sufficient collateral.

I usually accept: bitcointalk accounts, litecoin, dogecoin, physical goods...
But maybe if you open a loan request and offer the lenders a choice of collateral (steam account, origin account, bitgold), maybe another lender will be able to give you a loan...
802  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.1 btc (collateral included) on: October 15, 2015, 01:52:18 PM
Lost my USB with my private keys.. when I was on titanic.. in the ocean now  Cry (((

In that case, i'm afraid i can't even give you a 0.07BTC loan Sad

Good luck in finding a loan tough!
803  Economy / Lending / Re: Altcoinhosting's long term loans. Giving loans up to 0.1 BTC on: October 15, 2015, 01:51:07 PM
there r many buyers there is whywefight sometimes there is fully pak or u can withdraw to bank/creditcard
I can give a 40$ collertal

I can give you a loan, but not with bitgold as collateral i'm afraid (see my previous post, i was editing it while you were typing a reply).
Do you have any other valid forms of collateral?
804  Economy / Lending / Re: Altcoinhosting's long term loans. Giving loans up to 0.1 BTC on: October 15, 2015, 01:46:38 PM
Your name: Daniel calleja
Amount: 0.1BTC
Duration: 7 days
Payback: 0.12BTC
Collateral: bitgold 30$
Escrow: I trust you so u can hold the funds
If approved, send funds to : 1DoYE2Xi7jkT2AGmbRTqL9xuiywzbyFPpt

Sorry man, but i don't have a bitgold account, and i wouldn't know how to sell the collateral in case of a default...

EDIT: after going trough your posts, i found this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1207903.0;topicseen . I cannot grant you the loan, since it seems you are actually trying to sell the bitgold, so the odds of a loan default are a bit to high for me...

Good luck finding a loan tough!
805  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.1 btc (collateral included) on: October 15, 2015, 01:42:40 PM
Need 0.1 bitcoin... collateral is my bitcointalk account I've had since 2012 which has my whole reputation.
I will be paying 0.15 bitcoin back in 1 week. Smiley Thanks

Is it the account you're currently using (tolan77) you're willing to use as collateral?

I just ran the account trough satoshiquiz, and the estimated maximum resell value was around 0.14.

This is the amount one can potentially maximally get if he puts a lot of effort in the sale in case of loan default, and is extremely lucky...
A realistic resell value would be around 0.1, so i would be willing to offer you a 0.07 loan for 8 days, with a 0.09 repayment... Only if you can provide a signed message with one of the following accounts tough: 16LtRGhh6wV65rntyvYPvnUNT3Lgv7xhDH or 1QG8GmifwT3H9tkFJrCvxhfdn5kNqNt4vM
I dont know how to do signed message bro. How?

Depends on the wallet you're using... can you tell me which wallet was used to generate those addresses?
BTW, i got them here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177827.msg1862234#msg1862234
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250026.msg2654695#msg2654695

EDIT: seems like you already know how to sign messages, look at the bottom link of the two links i posted here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250026.msg2654695#msg2654695)

Since a lot of people don't even read my rules, and afterwards argue they didn't know my rules, i'll quote the original rules here after every edit... This way i can prove what the unedited rules where at a certain date.:
The rules on the 15th of october 2015 were as follows (proven by this unedited post):

This post is now used to add a little addendum to the rules...

The reason for this list is that over the last couple of weeks/months, i ran into a lot of situations where borrowers wanted to use procedures i wasn't confortable with, so i decided to list the way i want to do business Smiley

  • I only do loans with sufficient collateral. This means the minimal RESELL value of the collateral should be at least 120% of the loan + the intrest. There are no exceptions for this collateral rule (not for people i've done business with in the past, neither for sr. or legendary or hero members)
  • When using bitcointalk accounts as collateral, i NEED a signed message. The address used for signing should be posted in an unedited post that is at least 3 months old
  • the signed message should clearly state that you (your accountname) are giving your account as collateral to altcoinhosting, and also today's date
  • banned, negative trusted, newbie accounts or jr. member accounts are not considered as collateral (unless there's something really special about the account)
  • you're free to get a first estimate over PM, but i do require you to post a formal request on this thread
  • If you want to use an escrow, that's perfectly fine (as long as you pay the fee). Escrows from this list are auto-approved: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0 . If you wish to use a different escrow, you NEED to contact me BEFORE sending a request to the escrow. I will not use an escrow that's not in the trusted escrow list unless i pre-approved him/her
  • Do not give me an account as collateral that was used to request a different loan, unless said loan is fully payed off
  • Do not give me an account as collateral that has a high chance of being -ve'd in the future
  • I do not accept stolen accounts as collateral
  • I discourage following loans, but i will accept them in a case-by-case basis: secondary or tertiary loans, loans for the sole purpose of gambling, loans that are meanth to pay off other loans

+1 for what OnkelPaul said...

However, If you want to learn how to mine, for fun, i would suggest one of the following 2 things:
  • mine an altcoin with (very) low diff... I would suggest magicoin, since it's cpu minable with an adapted version of cpuminer... Just look at their website, sign up for a pool, and read the how-to start guide of the pool
  • invest a very little bit of money in a second hand asic (a piece of hardware built to hash). Probably an old gridseed gc3355, an antminer u1 or u2, or anything else that costs less than $30 (you'll never ROI, so you basically have to see this investment as an investment into learning the basics, not an investment on which you'll make profit). Search google on how to setup the piece of hardware you've just bought, et voila Smiley
813  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recomended client for Android on: October 15, 2015, 06:51:06 AM
I have 2 apps in my Android associated with my web wallets (blockchain.info & coinbase).
Both have nice features such bar code scanner..
With coinbase you can transfer your whole balance without paying fees and you can use their vault too.
But i still prefer my 1st used one: blockchain.info in which i can adjust the fee i want, manage easily multiple addresses...
(tried for one day mycelium & wallet Android but personally didn't like both)
Ofc it depends with the money that you want to deposit there, if it is high then preferably you get to use a cold one.

I think that it is not harmless to check every Mobile wallet features, give a try for few of them... in order to find the best one for you.

It is harmless, as long as you remember you're actually working with a currency, and not "play" money... Don't put a lot of BTC on a mobile wallet, especially one that is not very trusted amongst the community Wink

i still like the hosted solution from you the most. until we find something i did a copycat from TheGr33k lists here as he is 1) not a active lender and 2) didnt update the thread in time.

Thanks Smiley
Obviously, i like my own sollution the most to, it doesn't require a lot of effort to run, and it's custom made, so it can have all the necessary features a loan ledger needs... But i need to know most lenders will use it before i invest a lot of time...

818  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [poll] lenders fighting scammers together on: October 14, 2015, 01:45:06 PM
I personally don't vote any of the above , if you ask me .. the best thing to do is not allow Members and below* to take loans and that should reduce the spam on the topics of the lenders and they can maintain their threads just fine and without issues.
however some of the ideas given are pretty good , and I guess it should be taken seriously by the developers of the new forum .

agree.
but, does not rule out the possibility if full member and higher member is do a scam, it's can be manifold motive, got hacked, sold account, ect. in this case it's need more monitoring account who want to do a loans.

I totally agree with the fact that it would be a really good idear to stop lending to newbies and junior members... Altough i personally think it's a different topic, and more or less unrelated to this poll Smiley. Even if we only allowed senior, legendary and hero members to take loans, a ledger of some kind might still be a good idear (imho)

Also, i heared that there used to be a newbie jail on the forum... That would also be a good sollution to the spam that is currently going on (altough my remark about this is kinda offtopic)
819  Economy / Lending / Re: The Ledger, listing open and defaulted loans. [Updated at least once every 24h] on: October 14, 2015, 11:21:53 AM
Hi whywefight:

Thanks for maintaining the ledger... The script i wrote for a central ledger is still sitting there, waiting for community support Wink
In case somebody didn't cast their vote (yet) => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1203414
My idear was to write a central ledger, where everybody could add his/her own loans, and everybody could lookup all open loans, without somebody having to maintain the ledger... The script is in a demo-phase, i'll only invest more (free) time if it gets community support Wink

In the meantime, would it be possible to make these changes?:

Thank you

I heared great things about mycelium... Always be carefull: don't put to much BTC in a mobile wallet... Keep your funds in a more secure wallet for storage!
