681  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.70 BTC loan on: November 10, 2015, 09:38:53 AM
I've been stuck with quite a bit of collateral lately, so i'm a bit picky on which loans to give out, but I can lend you up 70% of the bottom sale price of the collateral, with a maximum of 0.3 per account given as collateral and 0.4 as a maximum amount in total.

Just to elaborate: if the account can easily be sold for 0.3, i'd be willing to give a 0.21 loan for one month... If you give two such accounts as collateral, i can lend you up to 0.4. I charge 0.5% daily compound intrest with a minimum of 0.002... Ofcourse we can do a fixed rate to.

Any escrow trusted by me is OK to hold any collateral.
682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Storing a blockchain in SQL database? on: November 10, 2015, 09:05:25 AM
try bitcoin-abe

BUT you NEED to find a database dump that is not to old, load the dump, then parse the rest of the blockchain... If you try to install bitcoin core, sync, then install bitcoin-abe and let it parse the whole blockchain, you'll be waiting for weeks...

Your site is not working for me either at the moment. Downtime is not good for a hosting platform Sad

Completely right... It was down for little over 2 hours  Embarrassed

If i do not succeed in selling it, i'll have to move the domain to my dedicated box to avoid my host shutting down the VPS

Be carefull with the U3, it has quite a large "zombie" problem... If you find a way around it, or if you're lucky, the hashrate for the cost is great (especially if your power is free)

Actually it really has a pretty good fix at this point.  Buy a R1 with Crazy Guy's custom firmware - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=612390.0

I run 3 U3's that I constantly had to deal with zombies now without hardly any effort.  It ran for 5 day's without any issues.  I am now testing again to see new number but his custom firmware is amazing programming on fixing zombies.

BUt can you actually explain me what the zombie problem is?
Its first time i heard about it...
JUst for security i canceled it until i get some more info about what that is...
Thanks

The miner stop's mining goes into a state it does nothing.  So like a "zombie" it sit's there and does not mine.

It is well known with U3's.  The R1 with crazy guy's firmware really is a great fix for me at least.  It's ran great with 3 U3's.

That means i should have to be constantly cheking that it is actually mining no?
What does the R1 does?

Complete noob asking  Tongue Tongue

Yes if you use it with regular computer I had tons of checking was a huge pain.

The R1 is actually a lotto miner made by bitmain.  Crazy Guy is a talented programmer and made custom firmware where if you purchase off him you can select to have it loaded.   With it I have had to stop checking for zombies it just runs, and fixes zombies on it's own.  It's amazing in my eyes.

Actually, i did not know that... Sounds really cool, but with my electricity prices, i can't make a profit on U3's, otherwise i'd be buying an R1 right now  Grin

Gridseed has been TOTALLY UNPROFITABLE as a SHA256 miner for a long time now. They were close to that point when first released.

They can be profitable if you have fairly low electric cost as a Litecoin (Scrypt) miner, but they're getting marginal even there unless your electric is well under 8 cents/KWH or so.

The "blades" never were designed for SHA256 mining, they don't have the power capability OR the cooling and WILL FRY FAST if you try.

The "orbs" were designed to dual-mine but the power circuitry was marginal for that.

The "Compaq" stick does not have a European maker but they do have a European reseller.

Are you sure on this?  I'm pretty sure it's made in Europe or at least assembled there.- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1141518.0

The site from thread that sales them is - https://www.bitshopper.de/ they also have a amazon but amazon is higher priced since amazon fees.

It's a completely different design for Europe and includes free shipping to some of it and vat included.  So price is higher then US version but it is good it's available if your in Europe.

Thanks!
I am now thinking about buying or the Usb that reaches 23gh/s (8 without overcloking) or the miner that gives a hashrate of 63 gh/s.
I donīt pay for electricity and as they cost the same the choice would be clear but;
I have read that it sounds at 25 db (dont know how much that is but will try to investigate);
for my reasons, i can only have that at my room, and... i like sleeping XD.
While an Usb i guess that would do no sound np?
THanks for your reply

Indeed, a compac stick is soundless. But the PC where you plug in the stick might make a sound

691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: where is the anonimity? on: November 09, 2015, 02:27:39 PM
I am not  looking to buy any physical goods with my coins. Basically, if you want to remain anonymous, donīt cross your actions with your identity. I, like many others just want to have an anonymous stash.

In that case, my initial post in this thread should have been sufficient:
-buy BTC and transfer it to address (A). You don't need a VPN, since your real name will probably be exposed when buying BTC
-use a liveCD with TOR or a VPN to create an electrum wallet (B)
-use a mixing service to transfer BTC from (A) to (B) while using a different VPN/TOR
-only open wallet (B) while using a VPN, only surft to the websites you want to buy digital good from using VPN, only pay with wallet (B)

This will cost you a small fee (the fee of the mixing service, a small transaction fee, probably a fee for the VPN service) and give you some reasonable anonimity... Ofcourse, if you do really bad things, people might still track you down (the VPN provider or the mixing service are the weakest links). But it'll probably cost them so much effort, they're not going to do this if you didn't do anything really illegal
692  Economy / Lending / Re: need 6 cents, will pay right bakc on: November 09, 2015, 01:40:52 PM
Lock your thread before u get the red flag )

I doubt he'll make any effort to even close this thread... He already has untrusted negative feedback with a newbie account with 8 posts.
My guess is that he'll just dump the account and re-try with a new one.

Watch out for a newbie asking for a 3 cent loan in the next couple of hours  Wink
693  Economy / Lending / Re: need 6 cents, will pay right bakc on: November 09, 2015, 10:49:24 AM
I don't have a member account..
But if needed I can pay 0.20c after I'm done

Sorry man, i realise it's only 6 cents, but just as a business principle, i don't give out no-collateral loans.

Maybe somebody else will grant you this one without collateral tough, since it's only 6 cents
694  Economy / Lending / Re: need 6 cents, will pay right bakc on: November 09, 2015, 10:46:34 AM
So, you're asking for 0,0001616BTC, that's just a little bit more than the transfer fee most people usually add for a simple transaction.

In other words, you'd have to pay back at least double of the loaned amount to cover the lenders transfer fee...

I can do this, if you have sufficient collateral... I only take member accounts or more.
695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: where is the anonimity? on: November 09, 2015, 09:54:15 AM
you still can use VPN to keep you anonymous, just showin ip address isn't a big problem for me, because my ip address is static
but the real problem is when you need to buy somethin on website and they'd req you to fill up the form that includes your address and many important things even they accept bitcoin
its really stupid when people trying to use bitcoin for anonimity and they(stores/shops who accept bitcoin) still requesting important data from buyers

There are even ways to circumvent this, like anonymous PO boxes or remailing services... But, for me, using such services is overkill... Escpecially if you're not doing anything illegal.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Much Bitcoins Do You Have? on: November 09, 2015, 09:40:41 AM
I have around 0.12 BTC to say exactly. I am little bit confused whether to sell them at this peak price or wait for some weeks to see what happens to price.

Just my personal opinion: i have between 0.5 and 1, and i'm not even considering to sell them... Sure, i could potentially lose $50-$100 if i don't sell, and the price drops again.... But it's only $50-$100...

697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: where is the anonimity? on: November 09, 2015, 09:38:04 AM
It can be more or less anonymous...

Use TOR or a good VPN from a live linux-distro to install electrum and generate a new wallet...
Use bitmixer or any other good mixing service to fund your anonymous electrum wallet...

Offcourse, as soon as you use the "anonymous" bitcoins to purchase physical goods, the addresses can be tied to you... And your anonimity stands or falls with both the VPN and the mixing service...

Also, you can also use certain gambling websites to "wash" your coins, or convert them into a cryptonight-algo coin (monero was already mentioned)...

After re-reading my post, i just needed to clarify that using bitmixer to fund your account actually means: using bitmixer to fund your more-anonymous account from a less-anonymous account. Bitmixer isn't used to fund the account, just to make the funding process more-anonymous Smiley

699  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: QUESTION ABOUT PONZI GAMES ! ENTER AND GIVE YOUR ANSWER AND VOTE! on: November 09, 2015, 08:46:25 AM
It depends wether or not you get in early or late, and how much the ponzi owners want to make before they decide to run...

If it's a long-running ponzi, and you are one of the first investors, you can make a lot of money. If it's a short running ponzi, or you are a late investor, you'll lose your money...

Since there is no way of telling this in advance, i voted for the "confused" option Smiley

I would vote: between 0.5 and 1, but there's no option for this  Smiley
