361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: January 30, 2024, 06:41:14 PM
These are good stuff, op.

But the hard part is you have to stick with them to eventually incorporate them in your habits and some people may struggle with this. If that's the case, I would recommend setting up a reward system that works for you everytime you do your part of the month/day.

There are also many apps that help you track your habits. I would recommend loop habit tracker for starters, see: https://loophabits.org/

For people who are worried about their data, they are stored locally and app is open source.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: January 30, 2024, 05:57:32 PM
I've been to a couple of mental health online communities and second option is the most recommended to avoid at all cost as it apparently only made people feel worse and avoid treatment.

Hence, I'd always go for first option. Ideally, it is best to seek a professional help but if they're showing reluctance on that, they may try with self-help resources first -- what matters is they are progressing. When it comes to unhealthy habits, stopping all at once typically does not help for me. Instead, I reduce the consumption slowly and/or replace it with another alternative that gives almost the same amount of dopamine.

In extreme cases though, there may be a need for involuntary treatment as they could become a threat to people around them. In this case, reaching out to a professional or through the local social service is the next step.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google Updates policy allowing bitcoin and crypto assets trust to be advertised. on: January 30, 2024, 03:51:39 PM
From the 29th of January Google allowed to advertise cryptocurrency assets and Bitcoin which may help to make Crypto and bitcoin more popular and as in result adoption of cryptocurrency may increase. These kinds of news put trust in investors and they rush to invest in bitcoin as ETF also has been approved.

Cryptocurrencies and related products ....>>Here is the link where you can read the policy about the update. Must read. well before that Google never allowed advertisers to advertise  Cryptocurrency assets I think it could be a good update for the crypto space. What do you guys think about it? Must share your opinion many Thanks

Hasn't google lifted the crypto ban on their ads couple of years ago? and from what it looks like, this policy update seems to be about "Cryptocurrency Coin Trust".

But I'm pretty sure whatever new policy they hand out will be bypassed by scammers lol. This is why I'm honestly not really sure how much crypto ads on google help since 90% of what I encounter are cookie cutter scams.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two casinos with Curaçao license but with different restricted territories list on: January 30, 2024, 01:13:30 PM
Nice topic op  Grin

IMO, as a whole, I don't think license alone affects this, there could be other factors too such as what type of products are provided, stuff with the game providers, payment providers and the casino's risk appetite. To expand the risk appetite, this is because most of the time there are grey areas in our laws so it's not strange if some casinos would like to explore those grey areas and live within the edge - in exchange, they can expand their market.

366  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Have anyone heard about a platform called Adswage? on: January 29, 2024, 09:23:08 PM
I want to the telegram group and someone posted this:

For anyone skeptical about Adswage's longevity and concerned about whether it will continue to pay or eventually cease, rest assured that Adswage is officially registered and guaranteed to remain valid for a minimum of 10 years after which it will be renewed again. You can verify our domain's validity period on this link: https://www.whois.com/whois/adswage.com.

That does not mean it will last 10 years.Scammers make the domain last long to appear legitimate. The platform will eventually stop paying.

True. This is only about their domain name which they can always abandon or sell to someone unsuspecting. Not to mention, it's pretty common for scammers to jump from one domain to another because at some point, they will run and create another scam.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc payments and processors on: January 29, 2024, 08:17:14 PM
I suppose op could be talking about the simple merchant feature in electrum, see: https://electrum.readthedocs.io/en/latest/merchant.html

But it's pretty limited and there are many better options out there so I'm pretty sure it's not one of the popular choices for merchants. As a consumer, I've never seen it either.

369  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk ban promotion of other forums? on: January 29, 2024, 06:16:22 PM
I have seen that this forum does not consider it inappropriate when some member makes a post or thread about a competing forum. I am a member of other popular forums and they do not allow mention of competing forums as it is free advertising for them.

What is the opinion of members about this? Is it fine allowing members here to promote or mention competing forums without paying this forum owner or taking his permission  ?

Bitcointalk is overwhelmingly ahead, don't think they'd be worried in terms of competion. In addition, mentioning other communities contributes to a lot of discussions hence such ban would only hinder the discussion value of our threads. Simply put, it's counter-productive.

What i know is not allowed to promote here is referral link even as that you can include your ref link to your signature space instead of posting any place in the forum, because ref link might lead to scam and scam isn't moderated here but they try as much eliminate what would result to scam,

The restriction is most likely to tone down the possible spam, it's an open secret that affiliate links tend to be spammed.
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the best way make your Bitcoin anonymous right now? "Mixers"? on: January 29, 2024, 05:25:22 PM
how should he swap them to keep them anonymous? using any centralized exchange would make  them known to him again. which would kill the whole point.
I think A Good mixer is still better than all these hassles.

He has to use a privacy focused exchange for the btc <-> xmr trades.

For instance exch.cx

1. no typical kyc/aml policies
2. has an onion version, works without JS, no cloudflare
3. does not use 3rd party liquidity provider

You get to choose from 2 pools of btc as well; one having less chances of getting flagged by custodians but less privacy or more privacy but higher chances of getting flagged.

But a reputable mixer is okay too if you don't want the extra hassle.

Hello transaction 209 is mine, thank you for this photo because I have been looking for 3 years for a trace of http://bitcoinmarket.com because dwdollar never responds! Do you have any other transactions from http://bitcoinmarket.com or do you only have this photo please

Pretty sure the wayback machine has many old snapshots of the website, have you looked into it? see: https://web.archive.org/web/20240000000000*/https://www.bitcoinmarket.com/

You can't login of course but I saw snaps from "recent trades" tab, for instance:

372  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅🍅 wintomato.com 🍅Dice 🍅 Slots 🍅 Sport Betting on: January 28, 2024, 11:40:09 PM
Wintomato is running a $5k wagering contest now which will end on 29th of January. Like some other casinos, Wintomato has notified about this contest through email. But it is strange that they have sent 15 emails within 12 hours about this contest. I haven't seen any other casino to spam like this from their official promotional email. Judging from the leaderboard, the number of active gamblers isn't enough on Wintomato. Have these spam messages been sent to get the attention of the users?

That sounds too much even if we consider the contest is about to end. I would say such approach is counter-productive as you're likely to annoy your users.

I'm curious though if you have received a different email each time? -- same topic but different in writing because, if it's the exact same content, perhaps there's a chance something has gone wrong with their mail system and mistakenly sent it multiple times 🤔
373  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Help out Decentralized Gambling Research ✨ on: January 28, 2024, 10:16:22 PM
What are some other places besides Bitcointalk forum where we should share the survey?

General gambling communities has also a good amount of crypto players, perhaps you could find some peeps who have dabbled in "decentralized gambling" platform.

For starters, you could look into subreddits like r/onlinegambling or r/gambling. There are also stanalone websites like casino.guru (they have a forum) and casinomeister. You could probably find more when you google! But before anything else, try to confirm first if such post is inline with each communities' rules.

376  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hidden Portals on: January 27, 2024, 11:25:53 PM
I dont fully buy the reasons for keeping the site private.  It does nothing for your buddy but hides a potential threat from others.  Places that out scams exist so people can share what they know and help each other avoid shady situations and  seems better to put it out there.

Same thought.

From what I understand, they got the money back so case is pretty much over.

Got some news, kinda good. Convinced my buddy it's definitely a scam. It was Difficult, because he dropped 3K$ and got back 3,300$, so he's still skeptical. Not sure if the scammers will be satisfied with 300 bucks in the victim's account. We'll see.

Unless... OP's bud is still planning on putting in some more money to scammer's fake exchange hence the: if the scammer searched for the domain name and found this thread, they might know the victim's onto them statement. I hope I'm wrong though since this is some extremely risky thing.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hey Gamblers, Here's Some Questions for you. Would Love your Responses on them on: January 27, 2024, 09:43:56 PM
1. Bitcointalk of course.

First, I'm more likely to read opinions of prominent bitcointalk members rather than an influencer. I don't really keep up with influencers as I mostly have seen more bad rather than good. In bitcointalk, I'm more active and naturally have people whose opinion I'm more inclined to read and ponder.

Second is that, I appreciate brands that build up their rep slowly in the forum which takes effort, time, money. Plus we have the scam accusations board which up to a certain extent could help when things go south.

2.
Exploring the Bitcointalk forum - Highly satisfying
Casino advertisements on various online platforms - Neutral
Taking recommendations from friends - Neutral
Following advice from social media influencers - Unsatisfactory

3. Yes.

4. Why not? there is stigma when it comes to gambling in many places hence I think it could alleviate some of that e.g. time limits, budget limits, implementing "responsible gambling", etc.
378  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [UPDATE] Binance BTC Segwit wallet address changed on: January 27, 2024, 08:53:39 PM
What if someone didn't notice that email or get notified from Binance and keep using that old address to receive and deposit Bitcoin, what's going to happen to the funds received on that old address? Will they be forwarded to the new address or just gonna be lost?

Previous address retirement cases had an option to manually credit deposits.

I didn't receive any notification yet, what does it mean? Is it a process for few users only ?

You could still be in queue. Binance has a habit of implementing changes per batch.

I respect how minimally all other companies are sending messages to me, unlike Binance which was disturbing. They were just flooding my inbox with messages, of which many of which are so annoying and not needed, especially those nonsense they call promos emails where a whole Binance would be saying a huge number of customers should be sharing a very small amount of money after fulfilling some tasks.

LOL so true! over the years, I have gotten loads of emails from binance asking me to verify my account. My reward voucher even went up to 50 bucks IIRC lol. But isn't there an option [in binance account settings] to disable promo emails only so important announcements won't be affected?
379  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: January 27, 2024, 08:12:16 PM
When players want to make a withdrawal, is KYC required?

From what I understand, there is no mandatory identity verification, but there could be some cases where they may request it from you.

For instance:

1.4 - KYC Trigger:
These steps may be triggered if any player attempts to withdraw an amount exceeding 5 ETH.

and probably if they find anything unusual with your account? like any other casinos in compliance.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: January 27, 2024, 07:33:59 PM
To be fair, the man's just trash -- sorry for the wording but I have to say it lol.

What can we expect from a man with a history of child abuse? of course, he's not gonna be the type who would gamble in moderation.

In addition, this story too is a serious case of child neglect, another form of child abuse and something seriously punished in many places.
