But for the record, I'll keep all altcoin talk at bay as long as I am here on this thread.

Well you shouldn't. "Altcoin talk" is bitcoin talk and vica versa. The idea that bitcoin is "separated off" from altcoins is deluded. It's like discussing clouds as distinct from "weather".

No point in arguing semantics but this is indeed a thread for Bitcoin and all the hardcore bitcoiners hang out here - people that I want to learn from.

Might as well put my best foot forward.

I don't remember the reason but toknormal is in my ignore list. I do remember however I put him there long ago. If I kept somebody there for a long time, it means he deserved to be there.

Even R0ach leaves the prison everyonce in a while and I take a peek at his posts.

I wonder how you beat your curiosity from hitting the show/hide button. I sometimes end up hitting that just to see what shit someone who's on my ignore list has written.

**Must try harder**

I’m sitting on over 10 x unrealised profits on my total investment & I’m an absolute minnow in comparison to many investors.

HODLING = Guaranteed money making.

Is minnow the new whale now?

hehe

It is going to look symmetrical. Going back to what anon predicted, he said 29k in Feb which is again fits that symmetrical chart.

Remember the period we spent between April/03/2018 and November/14/2018, we are walking the exact same path but backwards.

Interesting.

What do you think changed since then? I mean speaking in terms of macroeconomics worldwide..

10 x unrealised profits since 2014.

You're only making my point for me. "Getting in in 2014" isn't currently an investing option.

If you invested into 1 BTC a few hours ago. You would have made $177 in profits.

lol I only say this to point out that it is never too late to get into BTC. I remember when it went from $1k to $69 after the Gox drama / chinese ban.

Those people that bought at $1k had a similar thought process like you.

Goes without saying that only people like LFC with balls of steel have survived and HODLed long enough to actually make any profits today.
364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 19, 2019, 07:55:28 AM
@Toknormal said it..

Actually all the scams have now been weeded out - at least from the top 30 or so rankings, bar 2 or 3 floaters.

And Vsys was the in top 30 until about 2 weeks ago. Which is why I was here asking for insight what the hardcore bitcoiners had to say about it.

And, lest anyone misunderstands me;
Anywho, I m here to discuss, learn and pick brains about how Btc affects the price movement of the top 100 altcoins. When it does, when it doesn't so on and so forth.

And not shitcoins or scamcoins.

There was a time when I considered everything other than btc a shitcoin. Eth changed that mentality somewhat. Which in turn spurred my interest in studying how Btc affects the broader altcoin markets.

But hey, if the grown ups want me to :

fuck right off ...
... grow the fuck up
... fuck the fuck off

Then I need to quote myself again
.. I m here to discuss, learn and pick brains about how Btc affects ...

No matter how much we pretend. BTC holders are investing into other shitcoins whether we like it or not. And I just want to learn how much sway that has with all hardcore bitcoiners.

But for the record, I'll keep all altcoin talk at bay as long as I am here on this thread.

PS: Humble request. If anyone of you who know me (or don't), spot me being involved with some shady shit or anything that isn't right, do let me know. I take the utmost care when it comes to choosing projects to be involved with and if you know something that I don't. Please do share.

Don't be alarmed WOWatchers.

This is a falling wedge. A Bullish pattern.

A falling wedge has a descending base, not a horizontal one.

That's  descending triangles....a beariish pattern.

But the lines are not drawn precisely...
However, we'll see how the saga is to be continued  Cool
Just about to reload any day, so the price can only FALL after that  Roll Eyes

A falling wedge is a bullish pattern (reversal) or a continuing trend (unlikely in this case)

My lines are drawn hastily through a mobile screen on tradingview and it is not meant to be taken too seriously as I am not qualified to predict financial markets. I speak from experience - which is again, not that expansive.

A rising wedge is a bearish pattern.

The case right now is of a falling wedge, not a rising one.

However, if you closely look at the charts it does not completely satisfy a falling wedge requirement either. Smaller breakouts have happened on either side of the resistance lines and that could be indicative of an unstable market, fud, fomo (of opportunity cash out) etc you name it.

And whoever was saying that chart painters manipulate people or whatever, hah! I am not a chart painter. I find it fascinating and try to learn about it. Like I said. I am not qualified to be a TA so I won't pretend to be one.

What the fuck does Vsys have to do with bitcoin wall observenings?  In other words, why the fuck should we care about that shitcoin in terms of our shared interest (herein this thread) in bitcoin?

The same reason why any other altcoin matters tbh. I am involved with them and wanted a perspective from harcore btc supporters. Asking for an opinion does not equate to asking to care about that said thing..

Fair enough. We have a lot of trolls and shills in these parts and even passive aggressive shitcoin lovers (who assert that they are bitcoin sympathetic while they get distracted by shitcoins).  Haven't seen  you post enough, but does not hurt to attempt to nip any possible shitcoin pumpenings in the bud.

Furthermore, there are a decent number of other threads in this forum, no?

I remember when jstolfi was trolling this thread, and posting his bear bullshit.  When he was interrogated about why he was posting in this thread, he would say that he thought that it was the place where he would get the most views... but that did not cause his phony baloney propaganda to become thread appropriate.

I am afraid that does not apply here. Or to me.

I am just new to this thread. I had ideas of creating my own Btc movement analysis thread which never generated enough rap.

Anywho, I m here to discuss, learn and pick brains about how Btc affects the price movement of the top 100 altcoins. When it does, when it doesn't so on and so forth.

Out of everyone, that is active on this thread Heuristics and I have had some positive interaction in the past and I thought beginning a conversation with him would be the most appropriate.

And I am nowhere near influential enough or smart enough to be hatching any propaganda stuff against or for Bitcoin (or vsys or any other coins) lol so you can relax.

And yes, there are decent number of threads on BTT, but are you suggesting that someone who has not actively posted in this thread before is not welcome here..?

If not, then you can dial down your intruder alert. I am not here pushing / promoting anything ( I don't even have a sig on atm) - just here to learn and discuss the movements and its broad effects on the market.

And maybe engage in the chatter a bit every now and then.

Prepare for a breakout any time now..

There is no way for BTC to get to value in the millions without dollar losing value. As simple as that.

I remember people saying the same thing about $1000

The dollar actually has lost some purchasing power since the time it was worth more than 1 mBTC. Say, it buys 80% of what it did.

Btc gained ~1.5 orders of magnitude - from 400 to 12k, say.

Different dynamics, kind of apples vs oranges.

A million dollar btc is a couple more orders ahead. The dollar could lose another 50% or so. Big Mac at $12-15$?

2015 was the strongest year for Dollar post 08 crisis. And in 2016 dollar was just beginning to fall again. The 2017/18 btc run was a time when dollar only slightly weaked each year.

Although this is too small of a time frame to make a prediction, but does your theory hold out here?

When BTC became significant in 2010. A $100 from 1799 was worth $1,772.81. It is now worth. Today it is worth $2,085.84. So yes, dollar did lose a lot of purchasing power but saying that directly transferred to BTC somehow is wrong.

Investments into btc is not just from dollar hoarders. There are a lot of european old money in it as well.

I am involved with Vsys for a few weeks now. Almost 2 months to be exact. What do you think about its movements?

...

Never heard of it, we don't talk about shit coins in this thread unless we are dumping on ETH,BSV or BCH. Grin

If you are dumping on BCH please ping me. I want that shit dumped to oblivion. I have a similar hatred for BSV but not as profound as in the case of BCH.

Damn a few percentages up and i'm reading alt season everywhere ........ Roll Eyes

The Nice thing about it is that they are up VS ETh!!!

More proof ETH is the King of Shitcoins.Lol

Yup, a new Casino is in town.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/v-systems/

Ever since it was promoted through ZB, it gained a lot of momentum. And its prices aren't really affected either by BTC' or Eth's minor tumbles in price (in either direction).

I am guessing this is because it is not yet fully exposed to the global markets, but with the recent additions in so many exchanges, that's starting to change. How big of a market cap do you think Vsys needs to attain before price swings of btc / eth would start to affect it in a more observable way?

Question is open to all..
372  Economy / Reputation / Re: Roger Ver why is he red trusted? on: September 17, 2019, 11:19:00 AM

No.  I bought the domain name fair and square and will use it to promote "A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System", BTC isn't that.

There is nothing fair and square about this.

You bought the domain through an opportunity and instead of selling the domain back at a higher price - which most 2nd grade domain resellers like yourself do - you cashed in big time by creating your own shitcoin.

Okay, maybe there is nothing "wrong" in what you decide to do with your property. But you are never going to not be a thieving immoral opportunistic scumbag.

And all those folks that you dupe into buying your shitcoin instead of BTC itself, they will come back to dump your shitcoin by the masses and with it, your ass as well.

Reporting does not work always as mods just leave some of those as unhandled. Mods only care about post quality. If someone was hell-bent on conducting a smear campaign against you, and made a high-quality post, chances are they won't be removed. Regardless of how mundane the 'claim' turns out to be.
Mods only remove posts that violate forum rules. If someone wants to start a smear campaign against OP (or me for that matter), their reputation thread is the right place to do it. Let them, I'd say not being able to censor your own reputation thread is more important. It ensures your own integrity. Who cares what a troll says.

I wish it was that easy. My own recent debacle with that troll is a great example. You probably know everything.
374  Economy / Reputation / Re: Coinlocket$ reputation thread on: September 17, 2019, 04:03:04 AM
CL, you should have made this into a self mod thread. Suggesting from experience. These trolls stop at nothing. Delete one of their posts 2 more connected accounts pop up parroting the same thing.

Quote
We have trolls gangs everywhere who want to join the troll feast everywhere is possible.
Just report those. I made Local rules for it.

If someone buys BTC thinking it is "Bitcoin, a peer to peer electronic cash system" they are being scammed.

Dude, I can create a paper and paint a stick figure on it and call it Roger Ver.

But that does not make that piece of thin vanilla paper anything other than just that .. thin vanilla paper.

Bitcoin is a peer to peer electronic cash system.

Whatever your Bitcoin Cash is - it is just that - BITCOIN CASH a.k.a not Bitcoin.

you only need to pretend to be another coin if your coin is too weak to stand on it's own.

lol was it hardly stuffed in ?  Grin Grin

er...read the book (it looked over many centuries).
It does not give an answer to what is right and what is wrong and/or what is preferable and what it not.
It simply described what happened and when.
To your first statement: No, the disparity does not steadily increase. It increased for a few centuries, correct, then decreased between 1930-1940 (following WWI/WWII combo, separated by just 20 years) until 1975-1980, then steadily increased again until now.
To your second statement: yes, there not many instances where the poor move several strata in one generation.

Thanks I'll buy it by the end of the month. Ain't got spare cash to swat a fly atm.

Unless there's an online free / pdf / bootleg version of it somewhere, then you can let me know.

But let's not forget, its just one book from one author - and it is socio-economics, something that is very hard to predict, even when using past data as example.

Think of what happened during the black plague. I remember reading some charts about the economic impact it had on the wealthy vs poor, if I find it I'll stick it here.
377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 17, 2019, 02:58:23 AM
4 is round.  Roll Eyes

4 is not round. 4 has a dick face.

Wealth disparity is not the worst thing...historical forces that typically remove the disparity are much more disagreeable.
I am reading a book that systematically looked at what reduces inequality..and turns out only major wars and deadly pandemics (plaque in medieval Europe) were able to temporarily reduce inequality.

All societies "naturally'" trend toward increasing inequality in relatively peaceful conditions (over centuries).

You seem to be indicating the mass pandemics / disasters that make the wealthy less wealthy and taking that as some kind of an equalizing force. The truth is, the real disparity between the rich and poor keeps on increasing. At least that was the case until the industrial age kicked in.

And now only thanks to the advent of internet and perhaps to some degrees, cryptos, the wealth that was accumulated by the rich for eons, has trickled down to the economically weaker sections of the population.

As far as I know, there are very few instances where the poor are given a solid way to claw out of poverty.

378  Economy / Services / Re: Want Craigslist Poster 3$ per ad on: September 17, 2019, 12:50:32 AM
For sale auto parts free

Why can't you post the sales ad yourself?  Craig's list allows you post ads in markets other than your own.  Something about this request seems strange to me.  How did you obtain these auto parts, are they stripped off of stolen cars?

They most certainly are.

Even if not stolen, if you look around you can find plenty of giveaway cars / vehicles that have no title, or salvage title or are stripped out trash / shells. It makes sense when people trying to resell such shit would want to hide their identity as best as they could.
379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 17, 2019, 12:46:45 AM
Communism/ socialism has definitely gained popularity among the younger crowd.  Doesn't take a math genius to look at where all the new productivity gains are going to, heres a hint: its not going to hourly workers on the bottom the totem pole.  Wealth disparity is similar to what it was in the gilded age.

The disparity is getting worse imo.
380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 17, 2019, 12:45:59 AM
Communism on the rise?  No - see China and the former Soviet states.

Totalitarianism, yes - lurching that way - but it is appearing in the form of nationalism and as far as I can see it seems to be coming more from the right wing than the left in the West.
We know you are a leftie so your opinion carries no weight. But for general information, culture always moves from right to left over time. Nationalism is a right wing thing. It is on the decline, and has been for decades. Multiculturalism is the opposite of nationalism.

Really?

As far as I know there is a resurgence in nationalism.

USA, China, Russia, Brazil, Italy, Spain / Catalan, Even Hongkong ffs.. and the big daddy of all - INDIA.

As much as I hate far right stuff, it seems the world is suddenly right again.. I wish your theory of right to left was observable in the real world.
