3661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry guys.. Bitcoin is not for our day-to-day transactions. on: January 16, 2021, 07:35:09 PM
I personally think that the value that bitcoins bring is not the intangible coin itself but the technology behind this revolutionary transaction process.

Shifting towards a cashless society where the currency is very volatile with a limited supply of only 21 million would cause serious disturbances and manipulation on the price due to whales.

The blockchain technology, on the other hand, is the true gold. In the near future, businesses would apply this to their transactions which eliminate the need for a third-party consensus.
3662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua on: January 16, 2021, 06:04:48 PM
Holy smokes I am so hyped for this fight!

I watched a Youtube video when Anthony Joshua mentioned that he's ready to face him. But to be honest, as much as talented both these fighters are, I am betting all of my money to the Gypsy king (aka Tyson Fury). His unique play style, technique, reflexes, and knowledge puts him above Joshua. Although I do respect the power of Joshua, Tyson will put this fight in the bag.

Nevertheless, I am so hyped to watch this fight and I would surely be absent just to witness this two overlords fight!
3663  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think about this UI? on: January 16, 2021, 05:11:35 PM
I love the design and I really appreciate the effort that you have put into this.

Just a question, are you equipped with the skills in order to integrate this into an application? This would become very convenient into many users as accessing bitcointalk.org in a mobile device can be quite tricky. The texts are optimized and the design crates this friendly atmosphere in general.

If ever you are in the process of making this into an app, I would love to donate in order to support this cause, OP.
3664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] | Cycle.Finance | decentralized platform that gives back to its investors on: January 16, 2021, 10:01:46 AM
Hi after checking the contents of your website, I observed that your website has the same content and website design as vrTRON's website. In addition, the information beside the link to your whitepaper contained information that is purely copied from bitcoin's whitepaper. Please check the reference below and I highly advise you to answer about my allegations.

Failure to answer on this allegation would compel me to create a scam accusation against this project. Thanks.

3665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scammers have a hard time with grammar on: January 15, 2021, 07:50:15 PM
Lots of these scam websites are created hastily without even supplying all the necessary and essential information about the project.

As long as they can copy another project's whitepaper and supply fake team members, they can easily fool newbie investors with such scheme. This, however, is a weak and laughable attempt of scamming investors. Offering 7% daily profit for a lifetime with a required minimum deposit are such signs of a ponzi-scheme which is 100% a scam.

Stay away from these types of website as they have the potential of scamming newbies.
3666  Economy / Economics / Re: The supply issue on: January 15, 2021, 06:43:37 PM
I think that's really a big deal.  although bitcoin is infinitely divisible, it is limited to 21 million.  This leads to a far future where bitcoin's transaction fees will be huge

This really goes to show that the price of bitcoin definitely has the potential to increase years from now. The problem, though, will be the transaction fees for miners as that is the only way they get compensation from confirming the transactions in the blockchain.

Like what others have mentioned, by the time that happens, maybe other altcoins in the market would become more valuable and flexible in investing. I am actually curious and I hope I am still alive by the time we get closer to the supply of 21 million bitcoins.
3667  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam] Fortune Finance-fake team member photos and plagiarized whitepaper on: January 15, 2021, 04:28:08 PM
I was just about to create a scam accusation thread about this project due to its plagiarized whitepapers but good thing you already posted it, Rikaflip!

Most of the time, when a project presents fake team members, chances are that other information and its whitepaper are fake and plagiarized. Good thing you were able to spot this on time!

I have just checked this team is fake & thanks for notifying but i am just bounty manager who got paid for posting ANN & which i have no whatsoever relation with ANN

Here by i,ll removing ANN with immideate effect & raising scam request also

Before promoting a project, it is your duty to check their website and the contents of the project to assert its genuineness. As the person who promoted the project in the forum, liability will attach to you even if you are not the owner of the project.
3668  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the biggest issue for beginners ? on: January 15, 2021, 03:07:25 PM
This hit me! Im a newbie and i am really having a hard time in exploring things here. Though i searched and watched related things about bitcoin, i still wonder how earn here ( if we are talking about the forum) but luckily we have internet and help.page to help.us through the process. There are also things im still learning like:

- making different wallets, for bitcoin, ethereum etc.
- a lot of unfamiliar words related to bitcoin, that seems the same meaning if you read it but really not.
- can't differentiate real deals to the scams. Newbies are tend to lure by it.
- the merit system. Its not that i dont like this, but somehow eventhough we post good and meaning topic but if some people wont notice, newbie will be stay in its rank.
-and update other as i dig deeper to the forum.

Just a word of advice, learn on cryptocurrencies but do not chase for profit.

If you truly want to know about cryptocurrencies, there are lots of resources here in the forum. Lots of people are making guides, sharing their respective experiences, and teaching the basics of bitcoin. If you view this forum primarily for profit, chances are you won't be getting any. Learn while at the same time share your knowledge.

Newbies have a hard time in the forum because of their perspective that they joined here for 'profit'. I understand that there are opportunities like that but if you are determined enough to learn, that will be your investment for long-term.
3669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Broner vs Campa Feb 13 on: January 15, 2021, 02:18:29 PM

Oh this is very unfortunate for the two boxers.

Well as far as I know, there have been news speculating that AB might fight Michel Rivera this February 13 as a replacement for Campa. Based on boxrec, Rivera's standing is 19-0-0 with 12 knockouts.

3670  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Filipino crypto users on: January 14, 2021, 09:15:02 PM

3671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phobia on being active on: January 14, 2021, 08:22:35 PM
Hi guys

I've been here a while now, lets say four months and i sadly i barely contribute not because i haven't been visiting the forum or reading a few posts but, i'm having trouble understanding most of the things i read. Bitcoin hasn't been my thing but i want to make it my thing and its proving extremely difficult. Especially in a forum such as this where the rules are really strict and your not allowed to re-register after a previous ban.

Take it slow. What is essential is that you have that drive to learn about cryptocurrencies so you could share your experience and knowledge about the said subject.

Rules are created in order to preserve the integrity of the forum. They are being strictly implemented as this is the biggest crypto-forum currently. Lots of scammers nowadays who take advantage of this situation and lots of newbies have fallen and have become a victim from this.

Quote
I'm just scared of making mistakes but if i don't participate, i'm likely to go nowhere in my journey here. Please help, i need to kill this phobia that stands guard to my progress. Pointing me to the right direction would be a way to start and i hope i follow anyway as that's a major challenge.

You are not forced to participate. As I previously mentioned, take it slow and start from there. Fear nothing if you have no plans of doing anything that is against the forum rules. In the event that you are in an unfair situation which caused you to be ban, lots of helpful moderators and users can help you with that situation.
3672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins bad publicity? on: January 14, 2021, 05:16:22 PM
This week The Bank Of America warned that Bitcoin is going to be a giant 'bubble' -  I dont think Banks are reliable 'barometers' when making Bitcoin predictions as I have seen so much negativity from them since 2017 - Now the Banks and Governments are talking about launching their own Crypto to complete with Bitcoin but surely this wont be decentralised so its not really going to be 'The internet of money' is it?

We have heard this statement for years. Lots of bank giants and capitalists have shared their opinion on bitcoin being a 'bubble' that will soon pop in the near future.
Just by basing such statement on bitcoin's price index, you would definitely see that there is consistent increase on its price.

People may claim that bitcoin is a 'bubble' but you definitely cannot hide the fact that lots of investors (including me) have profited from investing into it. They just don't see the long-term value of the blockchain as being applied to transactions which I believe is the future of payments.

2018 - Bank of America: Bitcoin Bubble Is Already Popping
2021 - Bitcoin boom is a bubble, warns Bank of America Securities

As you can see, the same bank has been saying it's a bubble for years. They will keep on repeating that until they decide to convert their fiat holdings into BTC (although there's a possibility they are buying already). Don't fret about these FUD from banks and zero coiners. Carry on and keep buying bitcoin.

I mean, the thing speaks for itself. The profit scale of bitcoin has been off the roof! I highly think that they fear about the global implementation of the blockchain technology in the future- which is why they are attempting to create a stigma against cryptocurrencies.
3673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 😋😋 [ATT] AirdropTestToken - NO ICO - AIRDROP on: January 14, 2021, 07:49:44 AM
I appreciate that this is your first project but everything is lacking with regard to the information about the project.

No website, team members, whitepapers, and other relevant information that can support your project is listed on your thread. You are also asking for a donation of 0.1 ETH but you failed to substantiate any information relevant to this project.

I understand that this is for fun but I highly doubt that someone will donate you any ETH for fun also.
3674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: January 12, 2021, 05:53:37 PM
~
You have forgotten the recent Tyson exhibition fight were the fight added in a draw, there might be a repetition of what transpired between "Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior" were the fight was in favor of Tyson but was set to be a draw. We should understand that most of these fight are scripted from the onset and what we see at the end are the results from the scripted boxing  Wink.
There is a huge difference between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones doing an exhibition bout as they are the legends of the sport but Logan Paul cannot be compared to anyone in boxing and comparing in any aspect is a big disrespect and Floyd Mayweather is another legend of the sport but he is not battling any legendary boxer but a youtube sensation who knows to box and that is a major difference even if the fight goes to a draw to the reputation of Mayweather.

To be honest, this fight happened primarily due to money.

As much as I hate Floyd and his play style, I have to give him credit where he picks fights he knows he is going to earn big cash. He is a very technical fighter who plays by the rules and the scoring system, that is why he is undefeated. With regard to this match, an undefeated boxer against a Youtube star will pretty much end quickly and this fight won't be as memorable as the fight between Tyson and Roy Jones.
3675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk ranking difficulty on: January 12, 2021, 02:45:44 PM
This forum was created primarily to discuss about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies (hence, bitcoinTALK) where other users can share their experiences, breakthroughs, and tips in general. Due to the increase in traffic in the forum over the years (both members and non-members of the forum), people took advantage of that traffic in order to advertise their respective businesses, thus the era of campaign signatures was born.

We shouldn't stray from the main purpose of this forum. If you view this forum primarily for profit, chances are you wouldn't rank-up and achieve that purpose especially if you contribute only spam messages.

3676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Amazing Low Cap Gem - YFTether on: January 12, 2021, 05:23:29 AM
They don't have a website Shocked. What is happening with this project? There isn't any reliable information but the trading volume at dextools is quite large.

No website, no official Whitepaper, and no other information than the things posted here in this board.

There has been an increase in a number of fake/scam projects in the recent weeks due to the bullish run of bitcoin. I am not saying that this project equates to a scam but the lack of information suggest that this current project MAY be indeed a scam.

For the time being, I highly advise investors/users to avoid and ignore this project for the time being until OP posts the relevant information about this project.
3677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Envolve DeFi: An all in one DeFi platform. on: January 10, 2021, 07:50:20 PM
Hi, upon checking the webiste, I noticed that the team members that were posted were nothing but cartoon image with some having only nicknames. I would very much appreciate if you could post their actual pictures together with their respective links (facebook, linkedin, etc.) to know if they are truly real/genuine.

Please understand that there has been a number of fake projects ever since the start of this bullish run and being able to post their pictures would provide extra security for investors. Thanks!

3679  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies/Jr members please don't beg for merits. on: January 10, 2021, 07:03:55 PM
It's not hard to get merited on this forum, instead of begging which I'm sure you will get nailed for by mean members who can insult everything that passes their way just make sure you contribute and help others, I believe that those asking for merits from others believe it's so hard to get merit but it's not

If you have the mindset of earning merits for the sole purpose of ranking your account to join campaign signatures, then receiving merits would be significantly difficult. But if you have the mindset of contributing in the forum by sharing your knowledge, experience, or expertise in a certain subject about cryptocurrencies, then people would appreciate your post which would garner you merits.

Begging for merits would lead you nowhere. You would just contribute to the spam and people would avoid your post and just move on. Instead of chasing merits, contribute something worth-it and merits would be the one chasing you.
3680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh that feeling... when the price goes crazy...after you sold! on: January 10, 2021, 02:50:19 PM
Sorry to hear that but in my case, every time I sell my coins I always make it a point that it would be my last option- meaning that I would not regret it.

To give you a concrete example, last 2017 I sold around $200 worth of btcs ($10,000/btc) due to a medical emergency in my family. Since I had no cash left from my savings, I decided to use my bitcoins to help my brother. After a couple of weeks, its price skyrocketed from $10,000 to $19,000. I did not regret it as the situation called for a medical emergency.

In conclusion, what I am saying is before you cash out your bitcoins, make sure that you are 100% committed to that decision. I know it is inevitable to feel like you've lost but always be firm with your decision.
