2701  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: November 21, 2021, 12:32:15 PM
Guys sorry if this question has been asked na pero do you recommend na pumasok pa din sa Axie at this time?

Do you guys recommend na pumasok ngayon? Natatakot lang kasi ako na baka onti lang ang burning mechanism ng SLPs which might affect its price sa future.
2702  Economy / Economics / Re: Credit cards | A scam or a tool? on: November 20, 2021, 11:55:49 PM
The trick on credit cards is to use them wisely, not spending more than you can afford, always pay in time, otherwise you'll get a huge interest on your balance, while at the same time, you're building a credit score.

What's your take on this? Are you against credit card usage?

Credits cards were issued in order to purchase something that you cannot pay in one transaction and divide it into multiple transactions that has to be paid monthly or annually. Credit cards are not the problem- people are. The fact that most people purchase a product mean that they must comply with its terms. If they cannot pay it due to insufficiency of their funds, then it would definitely affect their credit score.

Most credit cards company do a background/job check before they issue their cards. Again, the problem is not the credit card itself but the people who purchase products who knowingly knows they cannot afford to pay it.
2703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if governments make Bitcoin centralized? on: November 20, 2021, 11:51:43 PM
I think it completely destroys the purpose on why BTC was created in the first place.

Satoshi imagined BTC as a form of alternative currency where it eliminates the need for a third-party consensus in making payments. By making it centralized, it will function relatively the same as fiat which would destroy his vision on why it was first originally created. The reason also on why BTC's price is so high in the market is due to its decentralized factor where only the blockchain is the source of its transactions.

Wag kasi puro intant return, and always consider the risk-reward ratio pag mag invest.
Grin

Yung iba nakapag return of investment kaagad kasi marami na silang breed na naibenta at nagawang team nakapag farm nadin ng mas maaga yung iba kaka simula palang like asa 100k na nga isang team eh tapos till now di padin sila nakapag bawi ng investment pero pag mga aap/ abp/ bbp naman kaya naman makapag farm nyan mga 30k per month eh which is a good thing depende if may isko pa sila mas mabilis lalo makapag roi at bili ng new teams.

Just a quick question sa Axie, do yo think na lucrative siya for long-term? I am looking for alternatives (other than dito sa forum) para makakita ng extra income and nakikita ko na most of my friends started nung early 2021 pa. Do you guys think na worth it mag invest at mag pasok ng pera dito? Time is not an issue naman since kaya ko siguro itiyaga to for 2-3 hours/daily.

What do you guys think? At this rate na mababa pa ang price ng SLP, worth it bang pumasok ngayon?
2705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to win at roulette? on: November 19, 2021, 11:45:43 PM
Hello everyone! Do you think it is possible to beat european roulette wheel with 37 numbers? [...]

Yes, it's possible.
But you have luck on your side while the house has the stats beside it.
What do you think is a stronger fact to win or lose in betting?
The best strategy you can adopt is to minimize the risks, as luck may be blinding one day, but how much money do you want to risk losing until it arrives? And if it comes to you, how much will you continue to bet until you return everything to the house?

I agree with you.

Even with the strategies involved in european roulette, the edge of the house is just too overwhelming that it is better to exercise and exhaust other options such as cards and slots. The risks behind the roulette wheel involve luck being on your side and the odds on your favor. Like what was previously mentioned, even if the numbers are shortened to 30, it is still better to look for alternatives for better chances of winning compared here.
2706  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the best advice? on: November 19, 2021, 11:25:29 PM
With the way crypto world is going now and everything is techy futuristic what advice would you give your children when growing up?

Gaming as we know it can now give you monthly payments and as a parent would you allow your kids to get into this just for the money making? To be honest kids are more good at gaming

The best advice that I would give is to invest into gaming and cryptocurrency. With the recent development in the gaming industry and its shift to new technology, these platforms that were previously considered as 'niche' are flourishing in the market. The traditional investments (e.g. gold, stocks, real estate, etc.), while lucrative, but they are mainly geared towards long-term investment.

In cryptocurrencies, the possibilities are endless due to its volatility that many investors are taking advantage of. One can earn significant amount of cash relative to the time.
2707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: November 19, 2021, 05:22:33 PM
this is unique, because this is the first time I see a thread about chess matches because I really like this game and I am interested in discussing a lot about this.
On the other hand, regarding this match, if you look at a survey conducted by chess.com some time ago, around 84% support the defending champion and the remaining 16% want a new champion.

To be honest, this is to be expected given the experience of Magnus in the pressure of facing the WC matches. Imagine, you are fighting for the WC title against the arguably the best chess player ever to touch the board. Given also the age of engines and computers, the fact that Magnus can still convert drawish positions to a win speaks a lot about his natural talent and instincts on the game.

Like what I previously mentioned, while Magnus is definitely favored to win, I am sure Nepo has prepared tons of preparation under his sleeve given that he is a very aggressive and unorthodox player which might caught Magnus off-guard (though I highly doubt so).
2708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: November 19, 2021, 04:27:13 PM
Finally someone posted a discussion about the WC match this year!

I am so eager and excited to watch this match especially that Carlsen is a bit motivated to beat Nepo (he mentioned it during his interview with David Howell) as a revenge in their previous match (link in the video below). I am curious as to what openings would Carlsen use in his repertoire given the fact that Nepo is a very aggressive player. Though the match favorite is on Carlsen's favor, I still think that Nepo will make this WC interesting. Hoping for some wins and not just draws!

You are welcome to the forum. Follow the laws of the  forum and try to understand  it. If you spend time in reading and learning  articles related to cryptocurrency it will be a advantage here in the forum.

In addition to reading the laws and regulations of the forum (which I do think is mandatory), you can utilize the search bar if you have any questions which might have been addressed already. In addition, I also do suggest that before you invest into an altcoin or a token, try searching its name by using the search bar just in case to rule out the possibility that there is no ongoing accusation against it.

Welcome to the bitcointalk forum and the possibilities are endless here! Like what had been mentioned, avoid spamming and creating similar threads as that might cause your account to be suspended. Good luck and I wish you the best on your journey!
2710  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Recent Drop Below $60K Is Not Worrisome, Analyst Says on: November 19, 2021, 01:02:15 AM
People need to stop being so dramatic.

We had literally had almost two months of uninterrupted growth. The greed some people show just baffles me.

To be "worried" about this recent correction is laughable.

I think rather than seeing this as a negative outcome, take this as an opportunity to invest more and purchase for long term HODLing while the prices are below $60,000. People who negatively reacted to this kind of market definitely do not understand the market and price volatility of BTC.

I also agree with you- those two (2) months were seen as continuous development and price increase on BTC. Some of my friends were already speculating that its growth will further touch the $100,000 mark by the end of this year. Everyone should just let the market decide for the price and do long-term HODLing.
2711  Economy / Economics / Re: Legalization and Standardization of Organ Donation on: November 18, 2021, 03:18:59 PM
America already has lots of problems with poverty, inequality and absurdly expensive health care, legalizing organ selling is like adding oil to the fire, poor people will have no choice but to give away their health for money. A better solution is to just make every deceased person an organ donor, with an option to opt out of this program for the paranoid people, making them ineligible to receive organs in exchange.

And what does the blockchain solve in this situation? If someone wants to cheat in this system and has a power to do so, they would still do it. They can create fake identities and put them into the queue, for example.

Selling your organs in exchange for a consideration is not illegal perse, but what is prohibited by law is the illegal act of harvesting organs without following the prescribed rules/laws mandated per country.

Unfortunately with stringent requirements mandated, only chosen individuals are possible candidates in order to legally sell their organs. But you are right- the implications of selling one's organs in third-world countries post a risk on both the donor and the donee.
2712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 18, 2021, 02:11:57 PM
I may be late on the parade but the game between the Dubs and the Nets showcased on how the former is just on a different level on their team chemistry and skill. Along with the amazing performance of Curry, Wiggins definitely stepped-up and showed that he is continuously improving his game. You can witness his confidence in taking difficult shoes and able to execute them very well.

The game between GSW and Hornets, while the former lost, showed that they are not invincible. The chemistry of Hornets was the key to their success. Rozier made a significant impact on the last few minutes on the 4th quarter that sealed the game for them.
2713  Economy / Speculation / Re: JP Morgan: bitcoin could hit $146,000 on: November 15, 2021, 05:29:15 PM
understatement because bitcoin price will surely hit over $150000

If the "volatility issues" are solved, even 10x of that value is easily possible, since then *everybody* will use Bitcoin as a store of value.
That's why I find JP Morgan statements more a speculation/pumping attempt than anything else. All those "could" "if" parts are there just to somehow give a bit of credibility to their "analysis".

Bearing this in mind, is it not best if people would HODL BTC for long-term gains and profit? While I do understand that this may take some several years for it to materialize, but should not people HODL and avoid any short-term trading for the time being?

As someone who notoriously withdrew majority of my BTC from 2017-2020, I regretted it as soon as I saw my blockchain record stating the total number of transactions that were sent to my wallet (totalling up to $30,000). As someone who lives in a third-world country, such value can totally change my life for the better.
2714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brazilian Congressman proposes Crypto Payment for workers on: November 15, 2021, 05:11:50 PM
Cryptocurrency is increasingly getting into our everyday lives! A congressman in Brazil has recently proposed a bill to allow Brazilian citizens to choose whether to receive their payroll in cryptos or in fiat. If accepted, it will be an important step forward to total Bank independence.

Are you guys hoping for the same to happen in your country?

This is actually one of those news that I am looking forward to.

But in order for this to happen, cryptocurrencies must be categorized and recognized as legal tender before they can be given as a choice in payment for the salary of workers. In the laws of the Philippines, the law strictly mandates employers and businesses to pay its workers using the recognized legal tender in the country, which is fiat. If Congress were to implement this change, they would have to pass a law amending such section of the Labor Code and also passing a law recognizing cryptocurrencies as a form of legal tender.

While this change is very promising, this will pass through several readings and developments that the government must concur with the change. If I were in the position of these workers in Brazil, I would opt to choose 50/50 division of salary.

2716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 15, 2021, 03:10:19 PM
What a ballgame between the Hornets and the Warriors. Hornets though edging the favourite Warriors by 4 points

It was Terry Rozier who provided solid offense down the stretch. They've limited Curry to just 24 points and not his usual shooting night. So Warriors winning streak was snapped today. I thought that Warriors are going to cover the spread -8.5 or at least force a OT, but Rozier out jump Green in the jump ball.

Steph Curry had an off night. It happens. I think the young guys gave him a little bit of trouble. Wiggins played well though and has shown a lot of improvement since joining the Warriors. Last year you saw it in his defense but this year you’re really seeing him get more comfortable with the ball and taking over the offense. I can’t wait to see what this team looks like when Wiseman and Thompson come back.

The match between Hornets and GSW was just simply amazing to watch. It was neck and neck the entire match but at the end, the Hornets were able to snatch away the victory against the best record team. Though like you mentioned, Curry had an off night but several key players on the Warriors played their respective roles for future development.

Wiggins had an amazing night where he showcased on why he was the previous No. 1 pick. Glad to see Kuminga back but I do hope that Looney practices his free throws as this will haunt him for the rest of the night. The jumpball between Rozier and Green was tough to watch especially during crunch time.
2717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A positive evaluation of gambling. on: November 15, 2021, 01:20:17 PM
Good findings. The problem though is that only a few people and few gamblers apply the skills unconsciously developed by gambling in their real life scenarios. If a lot of them would implement those skills in their real life scenarios surely we would see much more successful people than we already know.

Still though a good topic and most probably I would make this one sticky here if I were a moderator so that many other gamblers can see this and keep those skills in mind and try to apply them in different real life scenarios.

I think these rules/findings that were posted can be applied not just in gambling, but to real life as well.

Though I was about to comment that these 'findings' imply that people should gamble more, the disclaimer clears such ambiguity that these should be applied to gamblers who see themselves as doing it for long-term.

Having a positive mindset in gambling may be relatively difficult to overcome especially if the person is experiencing a consistent loss. While I agree with these findings, I think it is noteworthy to mention about the development of self-control is essential in order for the person to know when to stop.

Guys just a quick question, before level two (2) verified ako pero after some time, nag expire yung credentials ko.

2719  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we see new ATH this year? on: November 15, 2021, 10:20:17 AM
There's still about 3 months or so left so there's always the looming possibility that bitcoin will get to a new ATH, and remember that time doesn't matter for bitcoin, it will reach an ATH when it wants too so you better hold on to it and wait for that golden moment when the pric reach another ATH.

I do think that every year, we always see an ATH of BTC by basing it 'purely' on its price history index. While there is only one (1) month left till the end of 2021, I do see that its price increasing by December where we will see a new ATH.

Personally, this will be a good time for investors to HODL their coins until next year. Also, this may also be a good opportunity to purchase more if its price drops by December so people could have more long-term investments by the start of 2021. As for me, I am just patiently waiting for the next fork for its price increase.
2720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best thing you bought with Bitcoin? on: November 15, 2021, 07:40:53 AM
What was the best/most interesting thing you bought with Bitcoin, when, where you bought it and how many Bitcoins it did cost? Grin

I almost bought a desert eagle on some darkmarket for like 8 Bitcoins (around 6500 CZK by that time) but I decided not to buy it, because it maybe was scam and if not, then my mom would kill me with it, if she knew that I was big gun fan back then... Cheesy Cheesy

Back in 2017 when 1 BTC was equivalent to around $4,000, I used to earn like 0.005 BTCs/week and I bought myself several books and school materials for myself.

Given that I was raised by my single dad in a family of 5, competition was tough in terms of the allocation of allowance. Being the eldest brother, the priorities were geared towards my younger siblings, so I had to make way for them. Earning BTCs not only helped me fund my education but it also indirectly helped my family in mitigating the expenses occurred from my dad!
