2741  Economy / Economics / Re: How is financial stability defined for you? on: November 08, 2021, 05:09:04 PM
How do you define financial stability for yourself? Do you believe that there's a thing as too much money? With what kind of income would you be satisfied and felt successful, at least in the sector of finances. Is it the more, the better?

.......

What's your take on this?

I define 'financial stability' as having to provide for yourself daily without any problem of sustaining yourself. In addition to sustenance, you have extra resources that you could spend on to your hobbies and passion without even thinking twice.

I do think that there is a thing that as too much money especially if you transcended to the levels of the people in the 0.1% super rich area where they own at least everything. To be honest, I would be satisfied if my income can sustain my monthly obligations, plus I have extra resources for savings and for my hobbies also. Though some have stated that 'money cannot buy happiness', it definitely can especially if you are someone living in a third-world country!
2742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all the money in the world entered the cryptocurrency market? on: November 08, 2021, 04:40:49 PM
Because eventually there is a chance that this will happen
I mean If Crypto-currencies win and become one of the foundations of the new economic system.
Not Today , Not Tomorrow ,But this will happen .
Think about it ! It will be a good opportunity if we invest a small amount and leave it to our grandchildren in the future Wink

I doubt that this would happen even in the future. Remember that transacting through fiat has been recognized around the world due to its convenience and point of reference among countries. Since all adhere to such standard of payment, it is obvious that its price derives depending on the economics and financials of the country.

If all countries dedicate their whole money and entered into the cryptocurrency market, then that would just be chaos impending. The value of cryptocurrencies is too volatile and that would cause every value of fiat to decrease on the market rendering it obsolete.
2743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 08, 2021, 04:30:41 PM
The Warriors are stacked right now to be honest, stacked with players full of potential, imagine a whole team shooting 3 pointers, kind of sad that they'll soon have to release some players, GPII is proving that he deserves more minutes, meanwhile Wiggins is still providing quality shots and good decision-making, he's really reliable inside and is getting better chemistry as the season progresses, last season he showed that he deserve the spot in the Warriors and be of help for Curry and the team, I doubt they'll be trading Wiggins. I really don't know who they'll trade as everyone actually deserves the spot in the roster, everyone's been red hot since the season started, kind of sad to see one of them getting traded, been a while since GSW was this solid.
I agree with the opinion about GPII but not with Wiggins. He hasn't really showed the consistency ever since he was in T'Wolves and now in GSW.
I thought he was going to change a bit when he lead the PPG of GSW at last years play in tournament but again, his inconsistency came out.
The kind of play that the Warriors have seems to not suit him because we cannot say he is not used to it yet, it had been a year already.
How come right now the other guys is already better than him at completing the plays that Steve Kerr wrote?

I really do not have any clue about the inconsistencies of Wiggins. There were games were he showed tremendous potential and shooting ability but there were also some games were he did not deliver what was expected of him. Players like Jordan Poole, GP2, and other teammates have showed significant potential and development over the course of years. Maybe AW has reached his peak and he will just remain as he is, though I still pray that he improves and be consistent at the end.

Like what I previously mentioned, watching the warriors play is like witnessing the golden age of Spurs basketball. Their playmaking ability, the fluidity and liquidity of passing is just a sight and privilege to experience and see!
2744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: November 08, 2021, 03:39:09 PM
I think that Sergio Perez was absolutely the driver of the day. Maybe its being his home Grand Prix was also very effective in this but he still had a great race. I would like to see him making big difficulties for Lewis Hamilton who was at the 2nd place being right in front of him. Perez actually got very close to Hamilton earlier than Mercedes expected. But after overtaking Norris, Hamilton managed to open the gap a little. In the last two laps, Perez dropped the gap down to a level below 1 second again but it was not enough for him to attack. But still it was a good job for him and the team.

On the last lap, it was really intense especially when the team radio of Red bull told Perez that it is "now or never." But the years of experience of Lewis Hamilton on his driving skills became a barrier to Checo's move against him. Though Checo attempted to overtake, Lewis still managed to kept his 2nd position during the race. Again, this is a win for Max Verstappen but I am just really glad to see Perez on a podium finish on his home country race track.

2746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Issue of fixed Matches on: November 07, 2021, 11:24:16 PM
<...>
Looking upon the sporting industry from the outside it looks like very legit, but more and more forms of corruption is paving path. It is shocking to read a news mentioning about the increase of suspicions to 1100 since the pandemic start. Particularly the football sporting is at high risk on corruption. 655 cases recorded in the last nine months. So we can't say match fixing is not there anymore.

Source : Match-fixing suspicions raised in 1,100 cases since pandemic’s start

really interesting, thanks for linking this article!
now, I'm curious on how they detected it?
some whistleblower? game analysis somehow? other methods?

must be not so easy to check if a match was fixed or not.

This is one of the challenges in match-fixing on how you could prove that such event did happen. One might argue that the opposing team might have a 'bad day' as to their performance but a proper investigation and comparison of their old games can be used to determine if they are intentionally throwing the match or not.

Like what I previously posted and shared, there was a match involving two (2) basketball teams where the other team was intentionally throwing the game (e.g. giving fouls, shooting airballs, turnovers, etc.) and it was investigated and proved that they intentionally did it. Another thing, most match-fixing happens on a small and niche community where the teams are comfortable enough to do it due to the relaxed security and supervision.
2747  Economy / Economics / Re: Really, why bitcoin has this value? on: November 07, 2021, 11:07:43 PM
At some point I am really messed up and lost in vein when it comes to bitcoin's price. I think that every second it gets more and more a victim of speculation and gets abandoned from its original idea.
If bitcoin could perform very well at 6K some months ago, why it become 60K after some months? And then it went back to 30K but was still functioning very smoothly, i.e. it was doing the job it was created for.
Again, If bitcoin could perform well at 30K some weeks ago, then why it worth 60K right now? I just don't get it when people say that bitcoin isn't speculated and all of these prices are just natural.

Imagine having a currency that can be sent through the blockchain without relying on any intermediaries. The reason on why its price skyrockets is due to this p2p function that can be sent to users. Its anonymity is what makes it really special as it also eliminates the need for any third-party consensus.

The price of BTC is mainly derived from the law of supply and demand. Along with its limited supply of 21 million, inflation is guaranteed. As many people use and purchase it, its price continues to increase especially if a fork happens (2-4 years from now).
2748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason why businesses should accept Bitcoin payment on: November 07, 2021, 10:51:09 PM
I totally agree with this, accepting Bitcoin in buisnesses today should be one of the biggest things that'll happen in the economy, it saves you so much stress and unnecessary charges that would have been made using FIAT.

Would it be possible if you could please elaborate on how it could save you stress and unnecessary charges?

As far as I know, every transaction involving BTC has a transaction fee that costs north of $6-$10 depending on the price of it on the market. In addition, transacting via fiat is convenient due to its simplicity and straightforward use. The problem with transacting with BTC is the eligibility and legality of it on a country. If the government prohibits the transacting of such, then you are compelled to use a mixer in order to avoid getting tracked.

While this may be true, BTC should be made available as an option to most businesses as a form of payment. The possibilities are endless and it would bring more exposure to BTC and about its current use.
2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: November 07, 2021, 03:43:34 PM
First and foremost, I commend Caleb Plant for standing his ground against the sheer power, strength, and accuracy of Canelo Alvarez. The whole boxing rounds, Canelo was putting constant pressure against Caleb. Though the latter was able to withstand most of the power punches of the former, he yielded on round 11 after that left hook that ultimately caused him the entire round.

It is such a privilege to witness the sheer dominance of Canelo in his weight division. This is the person who continued to dominate boxing and he showed his superior skill and prowess to everyone.
2750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Genting Casinos awarded for their safer betting standards on: November 06, 2021, 11:57:38 PM
A lot of things are prohibited in my country  Grin All crypto casinos and most of the regular ones (even legal in other countries). Even on this forum, I sit through the VPN  Cry
It is clear that I can bypass locks, but this is becoming more and more difficult (this year most of the VPN services were banned), and if we are talking about ordinary average users, then they are forced to use only allowed resources (which are often scammers in relation to successful players).

I totally understand how you are in relying on a VPN to just entertain yourself at gambling. That is considered a violation of the rules but on the other hand you have the right to gamble without anyone being able to prevent it. Even your country's regulations can't prevent it at all. If I were you, of course the same thing would be done to fulfill the desire to gamble.

Ohh you have to be careful in using VPN as it is against most gambling websites as stipulated on their rules. While I do understand the need to use such VPN, you may have to bear the loss and suffer the consequences in the event that the website discovers your prohibited act.

Remember that gambling websites prohibit users who utilize a VPN due to their security and safety. Like Paypal, they also prohibit the use of VPN to avoid any conflict with the laws of the country of the user exercising or using such prohibit act.
2751  Economy / Economics / Re: 6 billion to solve world hunger? on: November 06, 2021, 05:36:57 PM
What do you think,
Does it really only take 2% of musk's wealth to solve world hunger?
How do we assess this phenomenon based on its purpose, from a humanity or economic perspective?

As far as I know, Elon Musk challenged the UN that if it does solve world hunger, he will sell his Tesla shares but the expenditures must be reflected on a public ledger for transparency and for everyone to see. But to be honest, 6 billion to solve world hunger is too far fetched given that this will only solve the problem short-term.

Like what is stated on the Bible, If you give a man a fish he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish you do him a good turn. So like what I previously mentioned, this is only a band-aid solution that will not eradicate world hunger completely but address such problem short-term.
2752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 06, 2021, 04:16:00 PM
It looks like GSW will have an easy time against New Orleans.

They have been playing too good basketball, executing their plays and having some fun and of course it's their home court so every fans are happy. Iggy 9 assists in 13 minutes, probably a record, Lol.

4th quarter now, and leading by 22, GSW is not known for choking and very good at protecting their lead. So I would say that this will be a win for them.

Like what I previously mentioned, watching GSW play is like watching the Spurs due to their team chemistry and passing. All players, including the Bench, contributed to their overall development and score. But more importantly, the significant improvement of Jordan Poole is the cherry on top. Not to mention, Garry Payton II was a steal and he showed on why he deserved to be on that team.

I am just really excited the time Wiseman and Klay return to the court. Currently, GSW is 7-1 and I do think that they have the capability of dominating the western division if they continue playing very liquid.
2753  Other / Off-topic / Re: Deron Williams to fight in an undercard on Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul fight. on: November 06, 2021, 02:19:27 PM
Deron Williams used to be my favorite player in the NBA. During his 2011-2012 (if I am not mistaken) season on the nets, he averaged like 20 points per game with 8 assists and highlights flying everywhere. It was so unfortunate to see him retire with the injuries.

With such news breaking out that he will be participating in an exhibition match, I swear, this is not one of those news that I want to see coming from one of my favorite players. As far as I remember, Nate Robinson also participated in an exhibition match (in which he was KOed) but maybe these people need the money. I mean, if I where in there shoes, I would probably do the same thing!
2754  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: This Brand New Member is Here to Stay on: November 06, 2021, 01:57:01 PM
The level of hostility here to an new user is quite unbecoming to say the fact. You guys are acting as if someone is here to take your piece of meat. Why that?

Please, be rest assured that I'm more of adding values rather than taking. Not every newbie that is here is coming straight off from the wood.

Peace!

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so welcome to the forum.

The reason for this "hostility", which I would rather call skepticism, is that we are sick of seeing newbies creating threads like this one to fish for merits, people who are later found to be alt accounts of other accounts that have been banned or red trusted.

This is the internet and we don't know anything more about you than you are someone behind a nickname, so understand our skepticism. If you make good use of the forum, you will gain merits and reputation.

The problem with most newbies is that there is a stigma created and branded towards them due to their notorious spamming and begging across the forum. In addition to that problem, most newbies also are the ones that are involved into scams, etc. which completely affects genuine newbie users in the forum.

Though the number of merits of a user is NOT an absolute indicator of his trust rating, most newbies that do not earn merits (but are actually decent users) gets affected by this whole stigma. That is the reason on why "newbies" are sometimes frowned upon by some users.
2755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Key words (short sentence) to explain BTC on: November 06, 2021, 10:23:54 AM
Perhaps kids nowadays can understand such things even you don't explain it to them very dip,  i mean just a simple words wherein a "decentralized currency or digital currency" , that no physical asset such fiats but it's more profitable when it comes investment and trading  because of being so volatile unlike stock reason mostly investors are focused on it. And you can say that it's more useful as well in making transactions because of its speed and etc. Perhaps on that way they can get you what's bitcoin..

Again, this depends on what type of audience you are explaining things. When we think of "kids", I think this implies a person that has no prior knowledge or anything whatsoever about cryptocurrencies. I guess the simplest way of explaining what "BTC" is: Public spreadsheet where all transactions are listed.

"Electronic Money that Easy to transfer worldwide"

of course aside from countries that has strict rules against bitcoin but still some people can accommodate.

actually Kids cannot really understand this that wide and we must respect their capacity in understanding , why not instead of telling them?
best to let them see the actual transacting by showing then when you pay someone so they might have idea on  how it works?

I do agree that this may be the simplest way of explaining BTC to a kid. Though it is more complex and technical as an "electronic money", this is something that can be visualized and easily understood by them. From this point, they can use such definition to supply them with deeper knowledge for better understanding (e.g. blockchain, etc.).
2756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one are You ? on: November 05, 2021, 11:39:48 PM
Casual Social Gamblers
These are like Social drinkers who take alcohol on special occasions. These kind of gamblers prefer gambling as a way to have fun with friends. Winning is not the ultimate with these gamblers. They allocate fund and enjoy using it.

From the list that you provided, I consider myself to be a casual and social gambler.

My brother was the one who introduce me to the casino atmosphere. By watching him gamble away majority of his income, it prompted me to try and attempt to do the same since he always comes home with money won from gambling. From there on, I tried doing his ways but I failed terribly and miserably. After such experience, I vowed to avoid gambling at all cost and to just try it again casually.

I also do think that majority of all gamblers started as casual gamblers and they slowly transcend into the next level.
2757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency must adapt in schools/colleges curriculum on: November 05, 2021, 11:29:55 PM
If there is one thing that is guaranteed, that is change. Change in a way that people are forced to adopt into a situation that will cater better to a certain aspect. Just to give you an example, when the pandemic hit, most businesses were caught off-guard and lots of them were not able to adjust on time which resulted to thousands to millions of dollars of loss. Cryptocurrencies, on the other hand, is believed to be the future of transactions in the near future.

Adopting cryptocurrency lessons and teachings onto schools can definitely be beneficial in the long run. But the problem that I see is the implementation since there are still countries who avoid transacting with such.
2758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What game do you prefer in gambling? on: November 05, 2021, 03:50:13 PM
I've done gambling using Dice, Sportsbetting, Poker.

But haven't placed many bets in Sportsbetting and Poker but mostly Dice on a well-known gambling website in past but not now.

Anyways what do you prefer most!

Sports - Live casino or Dice

Personally, I prefer gambling via ESPORTS since it is one of those field where I am quite familiar with. As someone who grew up playing games on the computer and participating into tournaments, I somehow know the fundamentals of some famous esports game (e.g. Dota 2, CSGO, Valorant, etc.) and I am also updated on the recent matches and team rosters.

I tried betting on a live casino and it did not end good for me. Unfortunately, I lost $100 in one night (this is considered to be huge in a third-world country) and I vowed to myself to just stick with the things that I more familiar with!
2759  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Is The Best Cryptocurrency To Buy Presently? on: November 04, 2021, 07:56:14 PM
I intend to purchase some BTCs/ETHs into my blockchain wallet but I'm still sceptical about which of the coins is better and won't fall below the water. I am asking this because I don't understand how the cryptocurrency market works yet.

BTC or ETH? I would appreciate your suggestions, thanks.

I think that is the main reason on why you have no idea what cryptocurrency to invest on. Before you dump your money into an investment, it is definitely essential that you should have done your homework first. Asking someone and relying on their expert advice/opinion SOLELY can potentially be dangerous, especially if you mainly based your decisions from them.

I personally want to invest into BTC given its track record on its price history. I usually invest for long-term and HODL until its price reached a certain point where I am comfortable withdrawing them.
2760  Other / Off-topic / Re: How does the Twitch tv streaming works? on: November 04, 2021, 05:12:51 PM
Similar on how YouTubers get to sponsor some businesses and plug-it in on their videos, you have to contact them directly and accordingly to the information they posted. Though their reply is not guaranteed, as far as I know, that is the only way in order to reach out to them.

Twitch TV streaming and sponsoring their games may cost a lot of sum depending on the streamer. Remember that once these streamers stream another game which is different from what they originally play, they subsequently lose viewers in the process. Less viewers to them means less income; that is why you have to relatively match the cost of such loss to your asking price.
