3681  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How are crypto exchanges able to send Bitcoin with such low fees ? on: December 10, 2017, 08:16:57 PM
I haven't used an exchange but they might also be subsidizing their transaction fees from fees paid by account-holders. If you have X bitcoins stored on an exchange, these are not literal bitcoin addresses, they are just entries in the exchange's ledger, backed by its (massive) Bitcoin holdings. As long as you transact with people on the exchange, there is no blockchain tx fee. To entice users to leave their money on the exchange, it might be in the interest of the exchange to subsidize the blockchain tx fee for entry/exit to the exchange, thus ensuring that users will feel comfortable leaving their bitcoins on the exchange. The exchange just treats the variable cost of actual tx fees as "business costs" - when fees are high, they have less total profits, when fees are low, they have higher total profits. Overall, it works out to some average cost and as long as this average cost is lower than the benefit of account fees from users leaving their bitcoins on the exchange, it's worth it. But this is just speculation based on how other financial businesses work, I don't know for sure how Bitcoin exchanges are doing things.

Nah mate, I don't think so that happens. Haven't you ever sent bitcoin to multiple users at the same time before through blockchain.info or other wallet? Sending bitcoins of different values to different wallets at the same time cost you very less fee. In simple words, that works out in a similar way which PayPal used to have called "Mass Payment", in which a single transaction fee was able to handle hundreds of transaction at the same time, though I'm not aware if they still have that feature.
3682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - Semi-decentralized Exchange on the Blockchain on: December 10, 2017, 08:07:56 PM
The problem with Lykke is that they only have this Mobile App and its UI/UX completely suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

I agree with the first part, it should have a web-browser version as well. But user interface? It seems pretty good to me. Since I invested in Hero/Play tokens during its ICO, I installed this app as that coin would be listed in this exchange soon. I'm hoping for some good experience through this application in exchanging. As a whole, I like the idea of this exchange on blockchain.

I think lot of ppl will store into btc until tomorrow.. Then after ecip the new etc era.. 1st stage sometime hs some bug to fix.. After all done, then the super rich will considering to buy much much etc.. What ever..i don't believe community.. I believe hard to 🐳.. If this coin is good, so why not whales eat all until now and make daily volume around 50k btc.. Btc also hs 🐳 to start crazy value since 2011.. Believe 🐳 must hv

Yup, I think this time, after a good correction or a mega-dump of bitcoin, unlike we've seen in history, people would be interested in pushing the funds towards under-valued alt coins like ETC/ETH.

I'm sure we'll be seeing $40 to $50 each ETC in 2017.
3684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [ICO] 💪 HERO | 🔥 2Million+ USD raised 🔥| ICO closed! on: December 10, 2017, 01:35:11 PM
Hero Token available for sale PM me

Just use EtherDelta to trade them if you want to sell them already, or wait till 20th for Lykke.

what's Lykke ,is it a major exchange ? i didn't seee this website before ,can you share link to me?

It's a small swiss exchange - at the moment only mobile, simply download the Lykke Wallet app

Yup, I downloaded it too on my Android after I got to know that they don't have the web-version, and if you ask me, I'd say they seem professional. The interface of application seems pretty clean and secure, and I think they're working good on improvement.

It'd be nice to see hero on that exchange, though. Smiley
3685  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 09, 2017, 11:03:26 PM
After launch of bitcoin at CBOE futures, I'm predicting many would sell it off and money from bitcoin will flow towards alt-coins. This might have never happened in the past, but I'm sure it'd happen this time, when bitcoin would crash a bit, wealthy and healthy alts like ETH/ETC will steal the spotlight.

Let's wait and watch the graphs though, things are getting very interesting.
3686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: December 08, 2017, 09:07:26 PM
ETC is NOT Coming

Hard Shitshow

http://etciscoming.com/

As I said earlier:

and this mate, who just left ETC, had only a self-made twitter account (ETCisComing) and a self-made website (etciscoming.com), nothing else.

That website is owned by him, and it's not an official one. I'd simply ignore anything on that website if I were you, it's just like if I create a website named btciscoming and put whatever I want there, it'd surely be worthless.
3687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [ICO] 💪 HERO | 🔥 2Million+ USD raised 🔥| ICO closed! on: December 08, 2017, 12:07:40 PM
Actually, EtherDelta did us a favor by getting us rid of those who got tokens through bounty. Most of the people who participate in bounty, don't care for long-term and get rid of the coins fast. Now we only have to wait for HERO getting listed on the official new exchange, which will be the first victory for HERO.

Let's speculate on the price at the new exchange, I'm guessing it could touch 3 to 5 cents in start.
3688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: December 08, 2017, 10:40:15 AM

Destroy ETC? Are you a 10-year-old kid? You make hilarious comments sometimes mate.

ETC is looking stronger than ever, development takes time, the projects aren't easy... and this mate, who just left ETC, had only a self-made twitter account (ETCisComing) and a self-made website (etciscoming.com), nothing else.

The major upgrade to ETC is taking place, and right now would be the best time to exchange your bitcoins for ETC, in my opinion.

Hard fork on the 12th is approaching, mining output reduced by 20%, these good news or did not pull up the price

Yes, mining output reduction by 20%, but there is not going to be any hard fork, it's an upgrade to the existing system, and very good for future of ETC.

Hello,

I've just changed my signature and would like to leave the signature campaign. However, I'm very much interested in writing an article/a review for Loci and publishing it on my tech-related tutorials website. Is the article writing bountry still open?

Regards

Man, it's just funny to see some of the first few pages of this thread, when bitcoin was priced like $150. We've come a long way from where we began.

See for example, the dreams of these people have already been fulfilled, thanks to bitcoin:

it hit 5000 USD per one. Probably.
Just complete the sentence with your thoughts... "I would sell all my Bitcoins if..."
I would sell all my Bitcoins if hit 10000 usd per bitcoin
no need to ask why, everybody do so i think
I would sell all my Bitcoins if if price reach at least $ 10000.
After that, I will buy house, quit my job and enjoy life after that Smiley
I would sell all my Bitcoins if bitcoin reaches 1200 dollars again
if its under i wouldent sell it Smiley
I would sell all my bitcoins if im get brain washed haha. now here the real ; i wont sell never , until its gets 10k-15k for per bitcoin . since i will regret it
when bitcoin reached $10,000
If the price per bitcoin went back up to over $1000 like it was last year!  Cheesy

These all are from first five pages.

...but who knows, even the current price may just be the beginning! Smiley
3692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 88% of Japanese have heard of bitcoin -- how about your country? -- on: December 05, 2017, 06:21:19 PM
In Pakistan, my country, the number of people around who got knowledge of bitcoin is rising at very fast rate. The electronic as well as print media have now started including a good frame of headline for bitcoin like you can see at tribune.com.pk, there's always something new about bitcoin present there.

I've seen many people in Pakistan now keeping bitcoins as an investment.

3694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: December 05, 2017, 01:38:52 PM
Currently it'd be a wise decision to sell your bitcoin for ethereum or ethereum classic. They're very undervalued right now, and we can expect a good bounce back soon against bitcoin.

Ethereum Classic would be the best thing to invest in right now, I'm expecting at least 0.004 BTC per ETC by end of this month/year. Currently it's just 0.0024 BTC per ETC.
3695  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: December 04, 2017, 08:03:51 PM
I just wanted to drop in to give my recent experience with the exchange.  Your mileage may vary, but here is what happened over the span of about an hour this morning:

I was being told by friends that there were all these bad things happening at the exchange, and that people couldn't get their coin out.  I immediately tested a withdrawal, and it went through without issue.  It was under the basic verification amount, but it was immediately processed.  I then applied for enhanced verification.  The facial recognition failed on the process, so I submitted a support ticket, went to their slack and asked about it in their support channel.  It was answered within 10 minutes.  I corrected the issue I had based on the recommendations in the support ticket, resubmitted the documents, and within another 10 minutes, I was enhanced ID verified.  I was then able to withdraw all the coins that I had on the exchange.

I'm not sure why there are so many people claiming Bittrex is stealing their coins, but I'm going to keep using them until otherwise unsatisfied with their service or honesty.

-Fuse

I've similar remarks for them. It seems a bit strange to me, looking at all the negative replies around.

One week back, after reading all this, I withdrew my almost all coins from Bittrex. But even till that withdrawal completion, everything worked out smooth for me.

Why aren't the stats being updated for week 11?
3698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: December 02, 2017, 11:03:15 AM
It's nice to be back at $30+. $100 is not looking impossible now. I'm seeing at least $50+ by end of this year.

A lot of good news and updates. Follow "ETC Is Coming" on Twitter and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Accumulate as much as you can while you can, else things can get out of your hands.

Very unprofessional behavior by Blockfolio team.

A little correction before we go all the way up to $50+.

The price trend of Ethereum Classic is bursting towards 50$, and investors should be pleased that the time of 100$will be exhilarating. Of course, I would prefer to see a big breakthrough in ETC technology, not just a pure price pull.

Waiting for it to break the barrier's of the 100$ mark but in the present situation there is a chance that ETC price will reach to more than 50$. Now the global market value is kept increasing and the value of Bitcoin is also increasing.

ETC like BTC is one of the original unadulterated blockchains! :-D $100-$500 easy imho-----> ETC is the REAL ethereum<<<

I agree, but that's why we use the word "classic", it shows that it's the original one. Wink
