381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Importance of Bitcoin during the Pandemic on: August 13, 2020, 01:48:20 AM
     >Bitcoin serves as an instrument for online payments away from covid 19 and with the ability to transact internationally beyond the framework of financial regulation.
I'm really loving this feature of bitcoin. Look, I can buy prepaid load without even going on the nearest [ir]sari-sari[/i] store (sort of a mini grocery store). Through btc, I can minimize the time of going outside thus minimizing the chances of getting the virus as well. But aside from that, It also provides me a significant convenience because I no longer need to wear mask, disinfect etc. because I can already get what you want one click away Smiley.
     >Millions of people have lost their job because of this pandemic. Why not use this bitcoin as a substitute to your work in order to earn money to sustain the needs of your family.
Indeed, bitcoin keeps me alive. With bitcoin plus the money I got from lecturing math lessons, I was able to sustain my daily needs this pandemic. Imagine, even me who already finished my college and got a degree wasn't able to get a job in this trying times then what more for people who can only do hard labor. That's why I'm very blessed to have btc. I can say that I will continue investing as long as I live because it's already close to my heart. I already experienced so many lifesaving moments with it before which I can't forget Smiley.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a Fake Bitcoin? on: August 12, 2020, 09:52:06 AM
In the real world, we used fiat or physical money in our daily spending. And this physical notes can be use in fraudulence or a so-called Fake Money.
How about in Cryptoworld, is there also a Fake Bitcoin? If there's any, how do we know?

Same question!
I am also wondering about if there is a fake bitcoin. 🤔 Coz I never heard any news about it. Well there is, I hope that these coins are easy to spot if it is fake or not for the scammers not to be able to use these coins frequently because those who will be involved in their scams are so damn pitiful.
Guys no offense but aren't you reading? There are already few replies regarding this issue. Let me repeat, there is no fake actual bitcoin; you know, like a fake dollar which got the same looks, same texture and everything. However, we have bitcoin forks which we can consider fake since they are clones. They are actually different coins but somehow steals bitcoin's branding Cheesy.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment advice needed from experts on: August 12, 2020, 07:42:33 AM
Don't give me false hope, I need answers, is it a wise move to hold on to a coin that have continuous development but bad value? Or should I dump for other coin? I'm already in a big loss from 3000$ to 400$ presently, the continuous development is why I still hold on.
Oh my god! That's a huge lose already. What sign are you asking for? How ironic for you to believe that the project itself continue to improve but you're losing hard in your part. Dude if I were you, I will find my exit as soon as possible. I'm not saying right now, you can wait further until the price go up in order to diminish your loss but if your gut feel says the price might fall harder then wait no more. Dump and invest to a more reputable alts like eth or just stick with btc. It is safer to to do so.

I hope you will learn important lesson from this, god bless Smiley. Well, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" so be wiser next time.
384  Other / Archival / Re: Why are these posts necessary? on: August 12, 2020, 02:27:11 AM
Even though these are almost two identical posts. Apparently there is some value in them, only I did not understand what  Huh
See? You didn't even find the value. It only means that such posts are trash. They are just a product of desperation and laziness. Actually, going back to your declined application and deleting it after 24 hrs. is not a time consuming task. It's just so happened that some guilty members simply ignore it because it increases their post anyways.

[snip]
Yeah but these posts escapes in counting when the campaign has a lot of participants especially in bounties. Managers won't have much time to check them one by one and so they are just referring to the posts count of their participants.
Is this even possible? I can't believe it because it is not supposed to be tolerated! Well, the participants are very lucky if that's the case lol Grin. Though we can't say that he is totally lazy like the participants but irresponsible for sure since he is not fulfilling his duty very well. I just hope their campaign still runs very well despite of the  wrongdoings.
If you mean to comeback to your post or in the thread, you could have just put 'reserved' as what the others do when they forgot something or when applying in a campaign, coz we know some are having 'first come first served' policy when applying the campaign.
Yes you can but I bet you now have a lesser chance of getting accepted by doing so. I used to make "reservations" before but I stop because i realized that it annoys the CM. Be a fast typer instead.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Stable coin is the Best for Investment This Year on: August 11, 2020, 11:43:06 PM
Tether is still the coin with the majority of pairs and the biggest liquidity. Obvious choice
Indeed, it is the best and most popular stablecoin that can be paired with btc or the rest of the alts and I don't think we need another brand for that.  Because what would be the purpose, for me they are all the same since their main feature is fiat backed.

But then again, I would agree to everyone. It is the best stablecoin at this moment not the best coin for investment or let's say not actually used for investing. I think OP misunderstood the nature of it Cheesy.
386  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc and gold can now be called "safe" on: August 11, 2020, 12:51:54 PM
third world economies and poor countries are as well going to be hit with recession and possible hyperinflation. What all this means is the devaluation of the fiat currencies.
Actually, I'm expecting the same thing because it's pretty obvious that the pandemic really squeeze every country's assets and slowly decay the economies of all countries but why it seems our currency is not affected at all, it becomes stronger instead. The exchange rate of usd to peso this day is $1 = P48.90 compared to P51.85 last February (before the virus spread arise). Hmm Huh.
Bitcoin has also surged to 11k despite the pandemic, imo gold and btc are somewhat "safe haven" assets,
Nah, I will be convinced if and only if btc remain soaring or at least stabilize after this pandemic. What I'm thinking is that the pandemic served as a huge opportunity to give the rest of investors ample time to trade which resulted in high volume and higher price (IMO only). For me, you're money will never be safe with crypto because its trend today looks nice but tomorrow might be a disaster. No one knows, so extreme caution while investing is still advised Smiley.
387  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reason for being here on: August 11, 2020, 06:02:23 AM
@OP ~ Honestly, I get a little bit confused due to sudden shifting of topics. I found no relevance between face masks and scams lol. Nevertheless, I understand it and it's fine.

Anyway...
Vitamin D is perhaps 100000x more important for your body than a Face mask ... I'm not saying hygiene and face masks are not important but the focus needs to be on the right thing!
Why choosing only one if you can do both in the first place? The right thing to do is give wearing face mask and getting vitamin D equal priority since both of them significantly help you to stay alive. Go outside while wearing face mask and get the daily dose of vitamin D you need. As simple as that. Again, don't you ever forget to wear your mask because that is our first defense against the virus, vitamin D alone won't defeat it Cheesy.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Take profit on: August 11, 2020, 02:03:08 AM
I presume you are not well rounded with the options you've mentioned that's why you're asking. So for me, much better to feed your mind first. Study what are the pros and cons of investing on all of it then simply assess. Because at the end of the day, the final verdict is still in your hands, isn't it? I'm pretty sure you won't just pick one advice here and simply follow it Grin.

But going back to the topic, I won't choose in any given options because I find it hard to deal with and besides I'm only interested with btc at the moment Grin. See? Every member here got their own reasons and you can't guarantee if it also suits in your situation or not. Don't get me wrong, there's really nothing wrong of asking for advice. But I hope you still do your homework, okay?
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can idena.io be the best altcoin in 2021? on: August 10, 2020, 02:39:19 PM
Idena can also do mining using an ordinary laptop, no need to use CPU or GPU power, even among the lower classes people can get IDENA for free by following validations that are held every 14 days can also do mining
To be honest, I like this feature. But the question is, will it be enough to convince the investors to buy IDENA? I don't want to become pessimistic but I really don't think so. Remember that most of us are not really not into the application but with the price since many projects are already existing thus considered no longer unique from everyone. But well, no one knows exactly up to this moment what future it will be. So keep on shilling, I mean supporting this coin. Good luck Cheesy.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The BTC Times: A new Bitcoin News Site on: August 10, 2020, 11:47:45 AM
Btc Times, sounds like New York Times. Good choice of name in all fairness because I'm sure that it can somehow get the charisma of such big news company Cheesy

Like what other's said, I also like the design. Black and white colors are very classic and calm for our eyes, it never gets old. Plus, what i like in this new site is that it is also mobile friendly. Everything looks well organized and I don't actually having problems with zooming in zooming out the articles. Though Coindesk and other sites are better at the moment, I still look forward on this one. The more sources available, the better (given they are all stating nothing but facts of course).
391  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Boosting Morale for newbies. Giving newbie a merit. on: August 10, 2020, 09:35:18 AM
It is so sad that newbie mindset mostly is to join bounty hunting instead of learning first here about cryptocurrency. There are many helpful threads here shared by some expert users that are useful in the learning process. Besides, it is not only cryptocurrency being shared here but also to the scam and faud activities that could be process for one to learn from it and how it could be prevented or avoided.
Well, sad but true. What I think happening is that they are misdirected from their goal. Instead of using this forum as a source of knowledge to have a wonderful start of their crypto journey, they got easily blinded by the opportunity of earning made by campaigns and bounties. They're attracted too much with "fast money" that's why they tend to jump on joining despite of knowing nothing (only small to be at least).

Keep the right mindset dude, I hope you will be able to convince more newbies to do the right thing Smiley.
It is so sad that most newbies do not visit this section often when in fact this should be the section that can help them a lot. This thread along is being made for them to boost their morale and to give the first merit they can receive knowing that they are not the type of user that will directly jump into bounty hunting and spam the forum.
I agree on you somehow but I think there's nothing wrong of visiting with the other relevant threads either because that are the places where helpful knowledge lies within. When I was a newbie, my mentor told me that I should only stay on our local board. I followed him but for not a very long time, I explore the forum and I'm glad I did it. Jumping from one board to another doesn't necessarily mean that you're a spammer because everything still depends on your discipline. If you don't know what to say then refuse typing, just be a silent reader and use what you learned on the next discussion you deal with. As simple as that Smiley.
392  Other / Off-topic / Re: Oil People Needed on: August 10, 2020, 05:39:41 AM
what do you mean, "you who want to buy oil or we buy oil".
Or maybe he is looking for people made of oil (based on the title) jk.
I really have a hard time understanding your goals, it's not like this if you do oil business with other people, oil trading has rules and procedures from the government.
Indeed. Actually there is a more appropriate place than this forum when it comes to kind of stuff. Hmm maybe OP is looking for some advice from those people who bought a franchise of gas station and ask if it's feasible for him to do the same thing? Just a wild guess Grin. Nonetheless, I think it would be much better if he will directly contact the local oil marketing company or the dept. of energy on his country for his inquiries.
393  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: We ought to be willing to read and learn on: August 10, 2020, 03:27:51 AM
Hmm, it's very rare to see a new member not mentioning about sig campaigns. And more amazing to know that you admiited you're a lurker for quite a long time already yet no interested with it ( I can sense it though you wear signature lol)

I don't think we should jump to such conclusions. Instead we should welcome new people and introduce them to forum and community then it is up to them.
Indeed, we should not relate the past bad scenarios to every new members entering this forum. That was not a sign of warm welcome at all Cheesy. Actually, there's no wrong of expressing doubt towards one another but just make sure that you can support it with hard facts not only pure gut feelings. Overthinking is a bad habit hihihi.

So welcome to our forum OP. Good move that you finally made an account. I'm pretty sure you can contribute a lot here and learn a lot more at the same time.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which GOLD backed coin/token do you think the best? on: August 09, 2020, 10:58:59 AM
Like the few members who replied, I'd rather buy a real gold than buying an alt backed with gold. Because having a real gold is nice but on the other hand we really can't sure if such projects are really backed with gold or not. Maybe that is only to make their coin a little bit distinct from the others thus attract more investors, who knows?. And even if some are proven and tested, I still won't buy their concept because those coins which are based on aplications are enough for me. Besides, I am not a fan of stablecoins, I love crypto's volatility even if it bites me back sometimes lol Grin.
395  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sending BTC as a gift to someone who doesn't have a wallet on: August 09, 2020, 07:44:32 AM
If you can afford to give him a hardware wallet with bitcoin (like Ledger) then much better. Because I believe that tangible things' presence makes the gift more special because it can build a sentimental value, that's what digital things can't do. Plus, it was a nice way to poke the interest of the receiver because he will surely become curious on how that flash drive-like thing works Grin.

Then after that, follow what others said, give him a short introduction with crypto and hope that he will like the concept. Be his mentor afterwards! You not only made him happy because of your gift but also help to expand our community — win-win situation Smiley.
396  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I can't withdraw my tips on reddit on: August 09, 2020, 04:44:30 AM
Hmm, you said that your tip is only 100 sats so most probably the case is your funds are less than the amount of minimum withdrawal or the transaction fee is higher than your current balance. That's why you can't withdraw it unlike to your previous experience.

Though I use reddit often, I'm still not sure about my conclusion since I am not so familiar how award system works there. I'm just a simple lurker Cheesy.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What makes a good bettor? on: August 09, 2020, 02:29:46 AM
But if a person is betting on horse races, does the person need to know a lot about horses and horse races or can one be a successful bettor based on other things (for instance, choosing a certain strategy based on the odds or simply reading what others say about an upcoming race)?
Maybe you can use the physique of the horse, the popularity of the jockey or even the records of that horse as your basis. Well, it's very hard to predict the winner of such game because there are many competitors thus getting a smaller probability for a single player to win plus all of them almost looks the same so you can't recognize who's the strongest. Hmm, in this sport, I guess you might lose a lot of money first before establishing a good strategy on betting because experience is necessary. That's why I only stick on betting with 1v1/team sports that I knew since I find them easier to predict Grin.
Is it about knowing how to bet or what you're betting on, what do you think?
For me, both. You should understand the principles of gambling, the pros and cons if you bet huge and small, and everything about it as a whole. At the same time, you should know also the place where you risk your money in order to increase your chances of winning. Of course not everything is based on luck, you can outwit the system Wink.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do scams harm Bitcoin's reputation in the mainstream world? on: August 08, 2020, 10:07:10 AM
Of course! Because first impression lasts. What do you think would probably happen if you experienced drowning for the first time? You will get afraid of water, right? The same will happen if you get scammed. Though technically speaking it's not bitcoin's fault, you still tend to get afraid of investing due to a bad experience. The trauma of losing money will remains that's why they now refuse to try again unless he/she is business minded which understands — that not at all times he/she is winning.

Nevertheless, I hope each and every person who got scammed (not only from crypto but in general) will finally overcome their fear. I hope they soon realized that cryptocurrency is not the real evil here but only a tool most often used by bad people.

It have some effect but it doesn't last that long. A lot of scams that happened and bitcoin just kept in comkng or bouncing back giving more profits to its users and investors. People here in our province thought it is a scam since it is reported in the news but they realized it is not since I've been using it 2 years since that news reporting.

It will not last longer if we try to support its legitimacy in the community. If we tell them and showcase the benefits and advantages of bitcoin, they will realized that bitcoin is a source of profit and can store value. Bitcoin do really need a lot of support from the community to fight against those bad things where crypto was being used.
Indeed, proper education of this technology is the key for them to believe in it. That it is not intentionally made to harm us Smiley.
399  Other / Off-topic / Re: Chinese products are junk on: August 08, 2020, 07:11:02 AM
Well, it is what Made in China is. But you know what, even most of us are already aware of their low quality products, many people still choose it with eyes closed. Why? Simply because of cheap price. That's what I usually noticed particularly on my fellow men, they give more priority on the money they can save the moment they avail the product and not the money they can save in the long run. What a wrong mindset. Just like the saying, quality over quantity.

Hell, even relationships are made in China. LOL!
Don't be so bitter, maybe you're just unfortunate when it comes to love. Just wait and chill, I'm sure you'll meet your Forever soon. Do not choose a Chinese to be sure jk Grin.

Ps: No racism intended
400  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for advice on: August 08, 2020, 03:58:14 AM
Yobit is also allowed in USA. Though it received bad reviews in tha past especially with its current issue about its signature campaign last year (correct me if I'm wrong, I can't remember when already Grin), I think it still considered legit.
Why are you referring yobit shit? They ran a signature campaign does not mean they are legit. If running a signature campaign ensures legitimacy, may be scam mixers would be the most legitimate project.
Yobit is shady exchange. It will never change them I think. I would never recommend anyone to use yobit.
No dude, I think you misunderstood what I said. I am not persuading OP to use Yobit just because they ran a sig campaign here before. Actually, I open up that particular issue for him to have a glimpse of its background and treat it as a risk Smiley. Furthermore, I didn't forget to tell him to do his own research first. Don't get me wrong, I somehow agree that Yobit is not the best choice out there so I only tell him that he can put it on his consideration, to see it for himself.
