381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have known Bitcoin and other currencies since 2014 on: March 11, 2024, 10:04:01 AM
~snip~
Many people now talk about Bitcoin, but I preceded them in knowing it by ten years.

What benefits do you have from knowing about something 10 years ago compared to those who know about it today, and what you have in common is that you didn't do anything then and you are doing the same thing today? It is completely meaningless that you knew, just as it is completely meaningless that you are now crying over spilled milk.

I want your advice for me. I have high hopes for digital currencies. What do you think?

Wait another 10 years, and then come to this forum and open another topic like this, only then you will be able to write that you have known about Bitcoin for even 20 years. Maybe you were expecting some kind of different advice, but if you've been indecisive for so long, what are the chances that you'll continue to talk a lot and not do anything?
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Blackrock control BTC? on: March 10, 2024, 04:42:30 PM
Bitcoin ETFs currently have 192,255 BTC under their control. That's less than 1% of circulating supply, and that's the ETFs combined. Interestingly, the iShares Bitcoin Trust by BlackRock holds a similar amount, which is almost close to 1% of the total supply.
~snip~

All US spot ETFs together have a little more than 800 000 BTC (including Grayscale), which is still close to 5%, and it is increasing every day. However, as others have already written, it is not too important, but perhaps it is much more important that companies like BlackRock get involved in BTC mining, which can give indications that they have some long-term plans that are not really in the interest of BTC.

From their documentation (somewhere there is a discussion on the forum) it is evident that even before the approval of the ETF, they declare about possible BTC forks, saying that their company will not necessarily follow the chain that others would say is the real original BTC. According to my interpretation, this would mean that in the future we may have a fork that could result in a new coin that could be called BitcoinBlackRock (BBR), and one should never underestimate the power that such powerful companies have when they want to impose their interests.

Some may not even remember the attack launched by the BitcoinCash team sometime in 2017, and if they had more money they might have succeeded, because at one point they pumped their coin to about $3000, while BTC was only worth about $5000 at that time.
383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 10, 2024, 11:52:47 AM
~snip~
Take example those that bought bitcoin below 20k or even $30k there are already in 2x profit's in less than 1 year timeframe, so I support any ability to buy more bitcoin and hodle for long.

If you are doing it only for profit, then the right moment is also a very important factor. It is true that those who bought one or two years ago have already profited today, but the truth is that those who bought during the last bull run may have just had the opportunity to return what they invested, not to mention that they practically haven't yet made no profit.

It is ideal to invest when the price is at the bottom, and then wait for a big bull run to achieve maximum profit - but a lot of people don't even think of buying BTC when the price is in the red because they don't want to wait for years to earn something.

I would say that it is a good financial move to invest part of your regular monthly income in BTC, especially if such an investment is long-term. Of course, you should always keep in mind that such an investment is risky, not only because the price of BTC is volatile, but also because our investment is lurking with other risks that we should be aware of.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Michael Saylor and MicroStrategy sell BTC? on: March 10, 2024, 11:38:36 AM
I also referenced this number 200K BTC, but perhaps we are talking about BTC selling behavior at different times.

urrently we are in the early stages of the uptrend, strong buying from other ETF providers such as BlackRock and Fidelity are enough to absorb all of the BTC sold by GrayScale, and are even enough to support BTC prices on the Spot market.

Conversely, if MS were to sell 200K BTC right at the peak of the market this season, say in 2025 at 150K USD, this selling could prompt a simultaneous sell-off in the market: the selling force completely overwhelms the buying force and the BTC price can return to 100K USD extremely quickly. Worse, BTC spot ETF can completely make the situation worse when traditional investors also want to take profits, the negative impact will be amplified and we may have the opportunity to buy back BTC at 50K USD.

I still think you're overestimating the 200 000 BTC that MS has compared to the 19.6+ million BTC that are in circulation - as well as ignoring the fact that MS buys their BTC through the OTC, and their sales would go the same way. MS is really the least problem when it comes to the price of BTC, because the ETFs that are buying now will reach 1 million BTC at some point, and the data on how much they buy/sell is publicly available and we will all know when/if the mass outflow starts.

Corrections always happened and went up to 90%, it's nothing new that we haven't experienced before and that we won't experience again. The only question is whether the new players in the game will stabilize the market to some extent or whether everything will continue to happen in cycles as before.

When I joined this forum a few days ago, I knew nothing but was slowly learning a lot. u are the person in my life from whom I first gained knowledge on this forum.

It's not like you've only been there for a few days, but almost 2 months. Besides, if you see that someone has closed their topic, does it make sense for you to open a new topic and do some personal goodbye with someone you don't really know?

The man has gone to spend his last days in peace with his family, and I think everyone should respect that.
386  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reee: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: March 09, 2024, 01:38:44 PM
Do not use that saipling tool because it is definitely one of the worst that exists, and in fact most of the text (posts) you check with it will be detected as AI content. If you don't use at least 3 different detection tools, there is no point in publishing results at all, but when every AI detector shows AI in someone's posts, then it most likely cannot be a mistake.

~snip~
My problem could be with the grammarly keyboard I'm using; English is not my native language, so I use the grammarly keyboard to fix and improve my phrases after they've been written. It's possible that these AI detector sites picked up most of posts enhanced by Grammarly keyboards. I do not know. @powerGlove is this possible? I know you're a tech wizard.

Shouldn't that tool only check for spelling mistakes? If you use it to get completely artificially constructed whole or parts of sentences, then AI detectors may detect them. Whatever you've been doing until now, I think you should change the way you create content on the forum - because English is not the native language of most forum members, but we try our best and with time most of us get better.
387  Economy / Reputation / Re: Reee: Which campaign has the most spammers? on: March 08, 2024, 11:16:19 AM
A campaign that works according to the principles of "quantity instead of quality" and has been doing so for a very long time definitely shows that it does not matter what its participants write, but how many posts they make every week/month. I sincerely doubt that anyone from their team reads all those posts, much less checks them with AI detectors, because in that case they would have to reject at least 50% of the posts as uncountable, which means that the spammers would look for their business elsewhere.

However, I hope that the Stake team will listen to some of the advice and change some things in their campaign.
388  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 08, 2024, 11:01:51 AM
Terra founder Do Kwon will be extradited from Montenegro to South Korea to face criminal charges over the collapse of his crypto enterprise after March 23, his lawyer told CoinDesk.

The legal circus continues, the high court has now made a decision according to which Do Kwon should still be extradited to South Korea after serving his sentence for possession of forged documents. It is not known whether his lawyers will appeal the decision again, but it is known that the US, which is still seeking his extradition, will appeal the decision.

From a legal point of view, the US should have priority in this particular case under Montenegrin law, because the US submitted the request for extradition 1 day before South Korea did.
389  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: RedotPay Crypto Virtual Card & Pysical card. on: March 07, 2024, 03:45:06 PM
~snip~
Unless you want to withdraw from the ATM, you can use their NFC virtual card everywhere.

I think you expressed yourself a little wrong, because the card is virtual and can be used for online payments, and of course there is an option to add it to the Google/Apple wallet in your smartphone, which only makes sense if your smartphone has NFC. Maybe some people take it for granted today, but not all smartphones have NFC, especially the older and cheaper ones.
390  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Revolutionary cryptotrading tool HotWallet on: March 07, 2024, 03:14:18 PM
🚀 Introducing HotWallet, a revolutionary AI-powered desktop trading tool designed to optimize your cryptocurrency trading experience. This cutting-edge platform seamlessly integrates with Binance's API keys, providing instant access to a diverse range of assets on the spot market.
~snip~

It was enough for me to read just one sentence and not read any further, because I'm really fed up with the fact that nothing can be done without AI, and I ask if there is an end to this AI madness? Furthermore, only a few will dare to download some kind of desktop wallet that has no reputation, has a fairly generic name and also has the possibility of using API keys, which should be safe from misuse in your wallet?

To me, this looks like a big risk, not to use another word that I will refrain from for now...
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Michael Saylor and MicroStrategy sell BTC? on: March 07, 2024, 02:49:20 PM
MS invests in BTC, it is completely understandable that they will sell.

Microstrategy invests in Bitcoin, but if you watch just one of the videos in which Saylor talks about Bitcoin, you will see that Bitcoin is much more than an investment for his company. It is also important to emphasize that this company works on the development of applications for Bitcoin, and that it makes a profit from its main activity.

If this happens, I just hope that MS will sell portions of the approximately 200K BTC in their budget to ensure that their behavior does not negatively impact the BTC price and the entire crypto market.

It is logical that at some point the company will decide to sell part of its BTC, whether it will be a decision to reduce exposure to the risk that may arise in connection with Bitcoin at some point, or maybe even in the event that the company is put up for sale and gets new owner.

200K BTC ~ 14B USD is a huge amount, which can cause BTC to lose growth momentum and cause investor confidence to quickly evaporate. If the sell-off takes place, I fear we will see an extremely intense downtrend in 2026.

Question - do you know how much BTC was sold by the company Grayscale from the beginning of the year until today? The data is quite interesting because it is about 200 000 BTC worth about $9.26 billion. In other words, no disaster would happen for Bitcoin because it is only about 1% of the max supply, and even less than that if we compare it to the BTC that are currently in circulation.

@bbc.reporter, there is already a topic about Do Kwon, and there we also discussed the things that interest you. I think it would be best if you lock this topic.
393  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 07, 2024, 11:42:52 AM
I'm not sure if upset is the right word here, but we had plenty of time and opportunities to acquire more Bitcoin. The bear market lasted quite long, with prices even below $20,000 that lasted months. Opportunities were endless, but unfortunately, I wasn't in the best situation to purchase and stuck to signature campaign earnings. I guess you're right about my approach; the truth is that with an average purchase price of $29,000, I've more than doubled my money and will possibly even triple it in the near future.

The only thing I'm missing is earning more than 3 mBTC per week. Due to the lower value, accumulation was a lot faster than it is now, but that's okay.

Everyone can get into specific life situations where some other things prevent them from doing what they really want in life, but it's good if such things are transient and we can return to our daily routines. I personally had some ideas regarding this bull run that would include some somewhat crazy moves that would allow me to invest a slightly larger amount of BTC that I would keep for at least two years and then sell since I don't pay taxes then - but still I gave up at the last minute because I don't want to gamble with things that simply shouldn't be gambled on.

You always have a chance to add a little extra income, you just need to try to be a little more active in some other places Wink
394  Other / Meta / Re: Provision for increasing available merit every year by some amount on: March 06, 2024, 05:37:23 PM
Or maybe you're lurking in different areas lately? I had a feeling lately I'm countering less a few of the usuals despite when checking they are still quite active, you're not the only one from the old gang I thought was taking a break. Also, I just broke your dry spell  Grin, I've turned into a merit hoarder, sometimes I even forget this thing exists.

No, I stick to mostly the same boards as before, and have roughly the same number of posts as before with usual activity. Maybe it's a good thing that the merits end up somewhere else, especially if those who need them for ranking get them. Thanks for breaking the dry spell, although it would be interesting to see how long it would last - maybe I would set some new record without merit with daily activity - maybe next month Wink
395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: March 06, 2024, 12:14:38 PM
~snip~
What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?

It depends on what type of person (investor) you are. There are those who we call day traders, and they are looking for an opportunity for profit every day, and significant price changes in a very short period of time are something positive for them. For example, if you bought 1 BTC yesterday for $60k+, you could already sell it today for almost $68k, which is more than a great profit - now imagine what kind of profits those who trade with tens or hundreds of BTC make.

If you are an investor who invests for the long term, then any time is good for investment - even though investing during a bull run will not bring even close to the same profit compared to the profit that could be made if you invested during a bear market.
396  Other / Meta / Re: Provision for increasing available merit every year by some amount on: March 06, 2024, 11:45:30 AM

Either way, Merit isn't scarce. Good posts are. Prove me wrong!

I'm not going to prove anything, so although I don't know where all these distributed merits end up, I haven't received a single one for some time - which leads me to the conclusion that I don't write "good posts" or that most MS ignore me Roll Eyes
397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 06, 2024, 11:34:37 AM
~snip~
On the other hand, I'm a little disappointed, because accumulating now is a lot harder than it was a few months ago, but anyway, there's no point in whining. I'm just a little surprised, as it all happened so fast.

After years in a bear market and waiting for positive news, we who have been with Bitcoin for a long time really shouldn't be upset because Bitcoin is more expensive today than it was 2 months or 2 years ago - we had more than enough time to buy at prices even below $20 000, not to mention how long we've been below the $40 000 level.

You should always look at things from a more positive angle, because let's say everything you accumulated during the last 2 years is worth up to 4 times more and that's a great thing if we know what interest rates are in banks and how much inflation was during that period. Also, everything you buy today will probably be worth twice as much this year - which is certainly a good reason to be optimistic.
398  Economy / Speculation / Re: When is next significant correction coming? on: March 06, 2024, 11:22:29 AM
Hey hey hey everyone! Did you catch that dip? I did. Got some more Bitcoin for a very good price compared to $68. $60 and $68 is a very big difference.
~snip~

The difference is big if you buy 1 BTC or a larger amount - so you would save even $8000 if you bought one entire BTC, but if you bought 0.1 BTC you saved x10 less or only $800, which is also a good saving. But if you bought only 0.01 BTC, you saved only $80, which I admit can be a lot of money for some, but not so significant for others.

I won't go further and say how much the savings are if you only bought $100 worth of BTC, but as I already wrote the savings at those levels are almost negligible. However, I understand that numbers can have a significant psychological effect on people, and if someone feels good because he saved a few $, I have nothing against that.
399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How dangerous are email phishing links and twitter links? on: March 06, 2024, 11:11:21 AM
I don't trust any antivirus works fine. The few times I had it on system a few years ago, it didn't work fine. Despite antivirus being installed, I still had virus infection on my system. Some said it was because the virus was stronger than the antivirus I had installed. Whatever that trash meant. I'm talking about the era when late John McAfee's (yes, the same McAfee who later went into crypto) antivirus was in vogue.
~snip~

I have a premium product that includes AV, firewall and many other options that can be useful, and I can't remember when I had a problem with any virus/malware. A good AV is certainly not some cheap semi-finished product or even a free one that does not protect you at all, but only spies and sells your data.

In addition, ask yourself how you picked up this virus in the first place, because all those who search for pirated software, torrents and visit various suspicious websites are far more exposed than others.

@smelody, I advise you not to use that AI detection tool, because it turned out to be very unreliable. For one post, I got over 70% probability that it was an AI text, and in the end it turned out that it was not correct. Before you publicly accuse someone, you should check the posts at least with 3 or more AI detection tools.
