401  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Buying property with crypto on: November 23, 2020, 10:51:57 PM
Thanks for the response. Yes, I heard that rumour about CGT in the UK.

What I really want to know I suppose is IF a seller in the UK was willing to accept bitcoin/crypto as a currency for their property, would the UK government allow it and [then] how would the tax journey pan-out in comparison to the £? I mean, if somebody in the UK (or anywhere, I guess) accepts X amount of bitcoin for their property, does it save me any money in the long-run by paying for it with bitcoin when the tax man is George Orwell's nightmare vision for the 1980's?

The bottom-line, I suppose, is am I able to purchase property with cryptocurrency and how much money if any can I save by doing so?

If you are looking at saving or maximizing your Bitcoin when it comes to buying real estate it will always depend if you are able to find a direct seller of the house and not go through any real estate agents out there because if you go to them expect that there is an added premium when it comes to purchasing those houses. Trying to find a direct seller I think is one of the hardest parts out there especially if you are looking for a seller who will accept Bitcoin directly since most of them will be looking for the most liquid asset and that is cash. However this is still not the end since you still have the option to liquidate your Bitcoin into cash and try and compare if you will save more money as compared to buying the houses from one of real estate agents you have.

On a side not I think Go Homes Family in UK is one of the well known real estate developers out there that is known for accepting Bitcoin directly from their buyers.
402  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Union Bank Launches Blockchain Xcellerator Program on: November 22, 2020, 10:57:30 PM
Maybe people will get more interested if they made this course available for internship purposes kung saan after nila mag-succeed until Phase 3 ay pwede silang ma-absorb ng Union Bank kasi right now paying 3,000 php just for a certificate and learning experience might not cut it for them.
403  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: ANO SA TINGIN NINYO KABAYAN, XRP and Bitcoin ATH na ba or May BIG WAVE pa? on: November 21, 2020, 09:48:25 PM
TBH I don't even know why Bitcoin is going up kasi pag-titignan niyo yung chart ni Bitcoin tatanungin niyo sarili ninyo kung bakit patuloy pa din itong tumataas kahit wala syang technical background supporting it kasi yung volume niya hindi katulad ng XRP which is obviously going up and at the same time ay tumataas din yung presyo niya, Bitcoin's volume has really been less unimpressive for me. It might be the external forces influencing the price pero dapat kahit ito ay magpapakita sa chart sa kanyang volume. As for other cryptocurrencies going up mukhang sinusundan lang nila yung market leader when it comes to movement, hindi sya katulad dati na meron tayong alt season na kung saan Bitcoin lang ang bagsak at yung mga altcoins ay tumataas.
404  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: VPN regulations on: November 20, 2020, 09:59:35 PM
The government in my country has blocked Binance from being able to access it, so I use a VPN to trade on the Binance exchange. a VPN just changes one's IP to a different country. However, the location of the location is still in the original location.

Read the posts above you and you will see that changing locations/IP address is not the main use of VPNs, for personal use maybe but if we are talking about security and safety of your personal information this is the main use of VPNs. Also if you are using VPNs to bypass a website restriction just like what people in restricted countries do in gambling sites chances are they will be freezing your account and ask for your personal information proving that you are living in a unrestricted country. Another important thing to add is if you are using free VPNs there is a chance that these services already have a list of the IP addresses these VPNs are using and they would be able to detect you. I suggest that you just move your funds out of Binance and look for an alternative, but if you are living in a country where crypto trading is illegal you don't have any choice but to stop trading and don't even think about going to unreputable crypto exchanges as you will also be risking your money there.
405  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are there protections built-in against 51% attack on: November 19, 2020, 09:03:00 PM

Agreeing with Wind_FURY regarding this one since the number of confirmations you should be considering that is secure should be dependent on how much is the value of your transaction is as the number of confirmations tells us how much the attacker is willing to spend in order to reverse that attack. I don't have the exact value for that but I think as a good measurement transactions below 10,000$ should at least wait for 3 confirmations in order to say that your transaction is irreversible anything larger than that should wait for more confirmations to consider your transaction to be secured.

Shower thought. What if someone sent $1,000,000,000 in Bitcoin?

For me personally I still wait at it at 6 confirmations and see if something strange is happening in the network as all of the attacker's effort would be obvious. For example at the time of your transaction you will see a noticeable increase in hashrate or the share of hashing power is dwarfed by an unknown mining pool but really at this point where it will suddenly dwarf the current existing hash rate we have would still be impractical or even unprofitable for the attacker even if they are trying to reverse a million dollars worth of Bitcoin. Whales do transfer with these kinds of amount or even larger but we won't see any news about a 51% attack happening because of that.
406  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are there protections built-in against 51% attack? on: November 18, 2020, 10:55:48 PM
From various posts that I have seen in both Bitcointalk and stackexchange you will see how they explained why 6 confirmations is needed for you to guarantee that your transaction is irreversible. Basically with 6 confirmations on your transaction the attacker would consider it impractical on trying to reverse your transaction as it will be unprofitable on their end.
Six confirmations is considered the standard nowadays, but most people really don't need to wait that long. For amounts of a few dollars, or several hundred dollars, 1 confirmation, or 2-3 confirmations would suffice. 6 confirmations is for higher amounts. I am not sure where this threshold begins, but I would say at least a few tens of thousands of $, if not hundreds of thousands. Exchanges usually require 6 confirmations before crediting the bitcoin to your account, but for a $50 deposit for example, that is really excessive.

The threshold should begin in how large the transactions are. 6-digit amount payments/transactions to anyone as the person being paid, should require at least six confirmations.

Agreeing with Wind_FURY regarding this one since the number of confirmations you should be considering that is secure should be dependent on how much is the value of your transaction is as the number of confirmations tells us how much the attacker is willing to spend in order to reverse that attack. 407  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Offering desktop or laptop services online para sa ating mga kababayan on: November 17, 2020, 10:42:20 PM
Even though the repair service will be free sa tingin ko may risk pa din sa ganitong service kasi para sakin dapata may guarantee ka na maibabalik mo yung laptop/computer ng client mo. With your method the client will be sending their equipment without any kind of guarantee that you will return it so dapat meron kang reputation about your service maybe meron kang mga vouches sa mga past clients mo or di kaya some kind of collateral. Pasensya na kung nakita mong negative yung comment ko pero sa akin kasi dapat may paniniguarado lang on both ends.
408  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are there protections built-in against 51% attack? on: November 16, 2020, 11:28:54 PM
I consider the number of confirmations on your transaction as some kind of safe way on ensuring that your transaction won't be under a 51% attack. So if you always want to have some kind of peace of mind with your transactions I would recommend you on waiting out the number of confirmations before you proceed with your business.
409  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Nico David "bitaccelerate" SCAM review on: November 16, 2020, 10:11:24 PM

410  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Why are there no BTT Discord bot? on: November 15, 2020, 10:30:14 PM
If you will try to develop this bot I think it would be best if you make it just some kind of channel on the Unofficial Bitcointalk Server promoted by Cyrus, if you don't have personal knowledge I think working both with TryNinja and Cyrus would be a good idea. Also the Discord server is not doing well right now in terms of its member count where it only has 249 members in total and as of right now only 28 people online so maybe implementing more features for this server will help it boost up the member count and the number of active people.

Why do some people take the forum seriously? Tracking notifications through the Telegram bot is more than enough for a regular user. If there is an BTT Discord bot it will be considered an addiction to the forum.

I appreciate that you are trying to develop, but the most important step is to find enough demand, so ask the community if they want to get that bot before starting to deloping it.

I don't think people are doing it for the purposes of being "serious" in the forum but for them to help out other people who are interested in this kinds of things. His idea isn't that bad or is something that will affect Bitcointalk in a bad way so its really not a good thing to discourage what he wants to do especially if no one has applied it yet. Also if someone has developed a notification bot for Discord I don't think someone will be addicted to the forum because of it, I wake up everyday looking at my phone with dozens of notifications from various apps but after skimming all of it I basically hit "clear them all" in my phone.
411  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Mongolia is a crypto-friendly country on: November 12, 2020, 11:10:14 PM
Only 1 bank and you call this a "crypto-friendly country"?
Just because one bank is going to offer some crypto-oriented services doesn't make the whole country friendly.

This might be the case if, for example, laws were to be created to encourage the growth of the activity, allowing companies from different areas to establish their business in the country and/or favoring the use for citizens in the uses. Helping businesses to get established, giving them resources, reducing taxes, or other things.
If 1 company is enough I guess there are thousands of countries we could call friendly about the cryptocurrencies industry.

It's like if you say the country is crypto-friendly because it created a tax for citizens on their capital gains lol.
It may be a start but I wouldn't call it "friendly"

I think the argument here will be the true definition of a "crypto-friendly" country because for me and I think for some the basis for a crypto-friendly country is whether or not that country with its laws is open or at least neutral on accepting cryptocurrencies in their country whether it is a form of payment or some kind of special industry helping their country, but at the end people have other definitions about countries being "crypto-friendly". That's why if you search for articles about crypto-friendly countries you will see different countries. We have countries such as Switzerland and Malta that are classified as crypto-friendly but specializes on the finance side of things while there are crypto-friendly countries like Japan, Singapore, and Korea but they are known to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment method.
412  Local / Pilipinas / Re: May Maganda bang FUTURE ang Cryptocurrency kung si JOE BIDEN ang mananalo on: November 12, 2020, 09:58:59 PM
"A Biden win means a win for corruption and the Deep State so I would expect Bitcoin’s price to bolt higher as people panic-buy unconfiscatable Bitcoin before Biden’s socialist"

Bitcoin in its present state ay hindi na no. 1 choice as a cryptocurrency for illicit activities kasi napatunayan naman na traceable na ito through blockchain and other various ways they can do katulad ng legal powers nila under custodial services when it comes to anonymity nandyan ang Monero na hanggang ngayon ay tinitignan nila ang paraan para ma-trace ang mga transaction.

To keep it short Keiser's statement is uneducated kaya most probably yung prediction nya ay hindi din tama at gawa gawa lang niya ito at pinalaki ng news media para makagawa ng buzz sa internet. Don't base your buy and sell decision dahil sa statement na ito.
413  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Nico David "bitaccelerate" SCAM review on: November 10, 2020, 10:58:48 PM
414  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cayman Island trying to become the next crypto friendly nation on: November 09, 2020, 10:53:53 PM
Cayman Islands is known to be one of the best financial hubs or wealth management hubs out there which is similar to Switzerland which I think we all know that they are also stepping up for the crypto industry so there is no surprise if they would attract people in availing their services in relation to cryptocurrencies because the market is already in there where the rich people can be interested in diversifying their savings in other kinds of investments/assets. When it comes to it being a crypto hub where companies will set up shop there I think it will always depend on things related to taxes, KYC regulations, and other laws which will attract crypto businesses for which we don't know yet on where they stand.
Soon many financial hubs will follow Cayman Islands footsteps, a little push in the scales and other financial/tax havens will do the same thing which will lead to another battle with money laundering that has been fueling this countries for a long time. I do like the idea of adoption but the chances of this tax havens using this cryptocurrency trend as another way for rich people to evade taxes makes the prospect seem not worth it.

I think it is inevitable to do so since if other countries won't do it as well then technically they'll be left behind by the competition who are already implementing it in their businesses, that is why you will see a lot of news about companies having change of hearts about their views in crypto and as well taking advantage of the crypto industry by implementing things related to it. If what Cayman Islands did prove that they have financial gain because of adding cryptocurrencies as one of their financial services then I would expect others to follow.

416  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [TIP] Onting tipid tips sa transactions sa Coins.PH on: November 03, 2020, 11:14:26 PM
Siguro gawa na rin ito ng discrepancy kung saan bini-base ng Coins.ph yung buy/sell price nila which I think as of now hindi pa nila alam or wala silang magagawa dahil ito yung binigay sakanilang rate, sabihin na natin na parang itong Jollibee na mas makakatipid ka kapag umorder ka ng 1 piece chicken joy with rice and drink at isa pang 1 piece chicken joy with rice and no drink kumpara sa 2 pieces chicken joy with drink at extra rice nila. Pero sa tingin ko may i-implement na naman silang kind of "limit" kung paano i-utilize yung ganito para hindi makapag take advantage yung mga user dahil sila din ang luge dito, and knowing Coins.ph baka may gawin silang ganito in the near future or some kind of adjustment.
417  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Maging mapagmatyag at maingat on: November 02, 2020, 11:37:28 PM
Mga bagay na dapat natingawin para maiwasan

Para kasi sa akin there is no such thing as free money palaging mayron kapalit yan o di kaya madalas ay panloloko lang sa isang kapwa, the best course of action talaga dito is wag nalang pansinin. From texts, messages to emails have a mindset that people are trying to scam you para maiwasan na maloko.
418  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Anyone using crypto exchange wallet on: October 28, 2020, 11:48:40 PM
Bakit di mo subukan magdirect sa Binance mate? Sa ngayon kase Coins and Abra sa local wallet ang nasubukan ko and so far Ok naman si Abra and maliit ang fees nya compare kay Coins pero mas komportable ako gamitin si Coins. If looking ka naman for more tokens try mo ren mate yung exchange ni coins.

419  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Anong nangyari? on: October 26, 2020, 11:39:49 PM
420  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: pano kung ang pilipinas ay magka crypto but it has same value sa btc on: October 22, 2020, 11:44:02 PM
