Hi,

how come sometimes the Bot doesn't allow to use a strategy. like i am trying to use pingpong with doge coin over bittrex but it shows always invalid range. BB works however margin maker and ping pong dosnt work.  note it works with other coins like xlm

Do you have enough funds or are you trading close to the minimum? You might also have selected an out of scope price.

All the best,

  Rene

Hi, been testing the demo for a few days now, how do i make it faster in it's dynamic updating when using the MM bot?

It often gets stuck on a buy or sell and doesn't move for a few hours.

Great software, it's got most things i imagined when i started coding a bot in basic to quickly test strategies on historic data.

It's a fascinating programming problem and you're solving it very well IMHO.

Cheers, Gary.

Hi Gary,

could you send us the logs and a screen shot to support@marginsoftware.de?
And what do you mean by 'stuck'? There are parameters on the left panel to configure your bot's behavior.

All the best,

  Rene

Yes it's probably me not being familiar enough with the parameters. When i say stuck, for instance in a downward trend it buys but then can't sell, even though i have the max order life at 0.1 and min effective gain at -0.01, and the 'window' doesn't move. I thought that it being dynamic that it would move the same buy/sell limits with the average price, perhaps scaling it with volatility.

I won't post a screenshot yet since i've now changed the parameters. I'll test for longer since it's probz just the learning curve.

You have a happy, hungry and educated client-base, some detailed documentation would go a long way in satisfying that hunger (especially for trading noobs) and attract more sales.

Great support you people at Margin, even for us demo users Smiley

I work in SEO for a living, there's a growing interest in trading bots, especially of the cryptocurrency variety, 210 people per month on Google UK alone searching for 'bitcoin trading bot', i haven't looked at other countries yet or for other search-queries but with good marketing Leonardo sales would take off, PM me and i can show you some of my work and proof-of-work (pun completely intended!) and provide references if necessary.

Cheers, Gary.

Is the bot trading like this for DCA?

Hi,

from looking at your screenshot the ADA market on Poloniex does not have enough liquidity to get you a better price.
Seems as you are buying and selling quite deep into the order book.

I restarted recently using leonArdo and I'm delighted by the new BB strategy.  Grin

I recommend to the devs to have a look to this article for a new very promising strategy:

Thanks for the link! Just started reading it.

I remember you had a Kraken banners mentioning it would be added soon.Any news on this?

It was developed and shelved because of the trading engine issues over there. Kraken recently upgraded their trading engine and seems to be much more stable now. Should be released soon after some testing. I asked last week.

correct! After the Kraken upgrade it looks like their API became a lot more stable. Any news on the release will be announce here on the thread!

Any estimation for binance adding?

Working on it. Testing it right now and will release it in one of the next releases.

+1 for this idea, in fact it could be done for every OS leonArdo runs in. For Windows and Linux, it would be a notification icon showing events from the "completed orders" section (the checkmark one). It would be good for those of us who use leonArdo in a desktop computer (as opposed to remote server/RaspPI).

Going further, other alerts could be configured too: for instance, price alerts, for those who use leonArdo for manual trading.

I got a UI request for OSX. Just like the telegram app or other apps that post on the icons on the dock a number informing unseen messages, Leonardo could do the same with completed transactions

We are working on desktop notifications Smiley

Will look into this suggestion too.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hi!

I just tried updating the Arm version on my Raspberry Pi to 3.7.8 and I get the following error when trying to unzip leonArdo-arm.tar.xz:

leonArdo-arm/lib/libxcb-xinerama.so.0
leonArdo-arm/lib/libXcomposite.so.1
leonArdo-arm/lib/libwayland-server.so.0
leonArdo-arm/lib/libQt5XcbQpa.so.5
xz: (stdin): Compressed data is corrupt
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Unexpected end of file is usually a corrupt download, maybe redownloading can help.

Yes, we tested the version that on the server now and it works. Please try again.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Is there a way to run the demo or the full program on historical data so that we can test strategies quickly, and is there any documentation ?

There is no backtesting if that's what you are asking.

We will implement this in a future version.

You can run the demo to live test leonArdo.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Leonardo should have its own forum, rather than people having to wade through this mega-thread, then we can have tech support sorted by platform, issue type etc.

I agree, there is so much information losrt somewhere in this 178 page megathread!

Even a dedicated subreddit would be better than this!

Agreed. Until then the best way to get support is to write a mail to support@marginsoftware.de

We also enabled an intercom chat bubble on the website so you can get support there too.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

I Am trying to install Leonardo on a Raspberry PI but I am unsure how to install the files that are in the tar.zx

Is there a repository in which Leonardo is included to be installed via apt-get?

A few instructions would be great.

Have you tried?

sudo apt-get install libqt5websockets5
sudo apt-get install qt5-svg
wget http://marginsoftware.de/downloads/leonArdo-arm.tar.xz
tar xvJf leonArdo-arm.tar.xz
cd leonArdo-arm/
./run-leonArdo.sh

All the best,

Rene

Whenever I try installing gt5-svg on my Raspberry/Raspbian setup, I get the following message.
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get install qt5-svg
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package qt5-svg
pi@raspberrypi:~ $

The strange thing is that leoNardo runs without issues after this failed package installation.
Any idea?

Thanks.

Got same error... on rb pi3 on raspbian STRETCH.

Hardware   : BCM2835
Revision   : a22082
Serial      : 0000000049606e4b

Ok, to clarify: the run-leonArdo.sh script should run out of the box, except for libqt5websockets5 having to be installed on Raspbian and on Raspbian only. If an installation of extra packages is necessary on some systems, please let us know where exactly this is the case. I realize this is confusing, so I'm going to automate the installation of the websockets package in the run script.

BTW, the Qt SVG package on Raspbian is called libqt5svg5. So should you need it, that's what you need, but I don't think you need it Wink

Thanks to everyone who helps us tame this very diverse zoo that is the ARM ecosystem!

Hey guys,

quick update for everyone using leonArdo on a Raspberry Pi over VNC. A couple of you have been experiencing weird keyboard issues which came down to Qt5 needing a VNC server with the XKEYBOARD extension. One VNC server that's available on ARM and that we've tested successfully with Raspbian on the server side and both Windows and Linux on the client side is called x11vnc. On Raspbian at least it's already in the package manager, so installation should be a matter of doing a "sudo apt install x11vnc".

If you are reading this with the same issue on non-ARM machines, you have another choice called TurboVNC.

Hope this helps you guys using leonArdo in a way that suits your needs! If you have any further update on your side, such as other server options or configurations that work particularly well for you, please don't hesitate to pass them along!

Edit[/i]: It seems that bittrex actually changed it's api in some ways, i cant set up any orders, i can't see any active or filled orders and i don't get the correct values of my wallets.... so, it's actually completely broken. Even with leonArdo 3.7.7.......

Thanks for your thorough reporting. You help is very much apprenticed!
We are looking into the Bittrex API issues.

EDIT: Is anyone still having problems? Looking like a temp problem for a longer period if time with the Bittrex API.

All the best,

 Rene

I actually tried it again a few moments agot ... no temporary problem but still persistent.......

Hacky

Hi Hacky,

have you been running many market maker bots as well? Seems not to be a global issue.
Maybe you ran into the problem with to little filled orders on Bittrex?
