I tried updating my B3 S9 with this firmware (the latest matching one for my unit):
Antminer-S9-201607131442-12.92T-600M-security.tar.gz
Unfortunately it has not come back after rebooting.
Note that I did this remotely because the unit is in a data center. I can power cycle it via the PDU, but I'm a bit scared to do that given all the warnings about not losing power while upgrading.
I guess I'll wait 10 minutes, pray, then power cycle it. Crap...
I know for a fact that some people brick their S9 with the update. If you have a batch one, you can connect two machine on the same controller tho. (If you have some long IO cables)

Looks like the difficulty is trending towards 3% with 3.5 days to go.
That would be a reasonable increase. Let's hope it holds here or keeps trending down.
yeah 3% would be decent As for some good news It looks like I will recover ⅔ of my money from bitfinex. Maybe I lose 250 vs 700 usd. I think I will start prizes back in Sept. at 25 usd each jump. Great news ! We are back with a missive spike down. Bitmain's manipulation ? It's soooo strange ...

My S7 F1 were in a hosting facility and never got my hands on them. Apparently my version of the daughter board have ONLY ONE fan connector. This sucks big time, i bought a few fans and plate to upgrade them with two fans.
@Bitmain any solution about this disaster ?
Thanks
EDIT: I couldn't find any picture of that daughter board with only one connector. I saw picture with two connectors.

We are under 5% https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficultyBitcoin Difficulty: 201,893,210,853 Estimated Next Difficulty: 211,595,784,384 (+4.81%)Adjust time: After 683 Blocks, About 4.6 days Hashrate(?): 1,400,753,430 GH/s Block Generation Time(?): 1 block: 9.6 minutes 3 blocks: 28.9 minutes 6 blocks: 57.7 minutes Updated: 9:50 (4.7 minutes ago) Be funny if it drops to 2% or less Sadly looks like it went back up: Bitcoin Difficulty: 201,893,210,853 Estimated Next Difficulty: 212,485,992,334 (+5.25%) Adjust time: After 666 Blocks, About 4.4 days Hashrate(?): 1,416,154,256 GH/s Even if we see a drop I will want a little bit of time to confirm it. With Bitmain offering the new S7 + PSU for 50 MOQ order's they could be unhooking and selling them to outside companies. So temporary drop off from sales of S7 in bulk, but the bad thing is they will be plugged in + chances are Bitmain upgrades internal meaning even more hash on network. So I think temporary drops from shipping of gear but I could be all wet on my guess. The 320$ price doesn't include the PSU. They corrected it later on.

I got a bad combo PSU/Board. What's the easiest trick to test either the PSU alone or the breaking board ? (I don't have another PSU to test ...)
thanks
Was that the 2880W board you got from me in March, or was it a set you picked up second hand? When you plug the AC power into the front of the board, does the green AC light turn on through the fan pack? It's hard to tell me if it's the one you sold me because i bought some used also. My hosting reported it as not working anymore (No light nothing) but he tested it one more time before he bring it back to me and it started up. I will try to figure out if it's the just switch or heat/cold. I will test it tomorrow.

So came home after work today to see that the power meter was only reading 404w at the wall. When I left this morning it was reading 590w (s7-ln and a raspi running two gekkos at 225m on the same plug socket).
One temp reading was 38 and the other 60. Ive rebooted it and will see what happens. Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience?
I had an S7 F1 board doing the same thing ... went down. Rebooted and it was hashing again.

Better to use an app to check miner status (there's one for both Iphone and Android that's for kano ckpool) so you can keep your ports shut tight!
and make sure you change the default password

Only people who haven't yet figured out how foolish it is to keep your untraceable nonrefundable digital money on SOMEONE ELSE'S SERVERS IN CHINA. A reasonably managed local wallet is a lot less likely to get robbed than a giant wide-open digital platform with direct access to your and everyone else's funds. I love it when people put so much trust in an inherently untrustworthy system and then are surprised when that plan backfires.
Also, a note from the linked article - "In 2014, the Tokyo-based Mt Gox trading exchange declared bankruptcy when hundreds of millions of dollars in bitcoins vanished or were stolen" - wasn't the general consensus that the coins vanished into the pockets of the guys running the place?
It's all BitFinex's fault and it's bad for Bitcoin reputation. The real issue for me is the lack regulation (the complete absence of it) that allow them to vanish with the coins or get rape by one hacker finding a flaw in their system without having to really handle all the shit that hit the fan. But I think it's fun to trade and it's a part of what Bitcoin needs to grow further. I personally trade @BitMex. They got my trust but it's base on pure air as you mention. Nothing can prove to me they are bulletproof you're damm right about that. The only thing I know is all the withdraws are validated by 2 pairs of eyeballs. At least, that is what they said. Like I said, I trade for fun. If i win, it's nice but if I loose it all. It's no big deal. That is where my trust with them will go, for now. I play the easy game but when I see a 1 million wall @BitMex, it blows my head off. I guess it's the all about the "money trill" (Not sure the expression is good but I mean to be push by the fact of winning more money) I would resume it as a very bad and unsecured implementation of the blockchain's technology and we/they need to learn from it. My first idea would be to look into a way to use a sidechain for all their internal transactions. Nothing get out of it until a withdraw is approve and by a manual approval process, I mean something serious. But i'm just thinking out loud.

I really want a btc price drop to the 480-550 price range
1. you want btc to be at $480 2. you want bitmain to increase the price of S9 I think both of these would be beneficial to almost nobody, except those who trade stuff back and forth. a. I want the price of btc to stay stable OR slowly increase. b. I want bitmain to sell S9 for $1200 because this is what they are worth. Cheers. here is how I look at it . i took the risk of early adoption of the s-9 . I had a lot of people say it would never work out. so far so good. I do not want 1) btc to drop to 480 usd 2) s-9 to raise to 2500 either one is good for me and both will not happen. so far bitmaintech has stopped selling s-9's this also works for me. Basically anything that prevents massive diff increases works better for s-9 owners. to me the absolute worse thing for btc would be for bitmaintech to open a batch of s-9's at 1200 usd today. I have accepted that to mine you need 8 cent or lower power to stand a chance which I do have in the solar array. the big problem is I do not have 20 or 30 kwatts of it. I continue to mine and hop for the best. and yes coins can go to 2000 usd as that would work for me. Yeah, hope you don't get fudge as much as I have with the S7 batch 1 ... This is worst investment I made so far. EDIT: that is exactly what made me not buy any S9 for now

Give it a rest guys Yeah my bad

However, converting that to 1 in Xyears is incorrect.
Then why do you do it in your calculator? Your Average Time per Block: 1768days 19hr 43min 37sec It just give you an idea of what it would take if the Diff doesn't change for a year. We all know it doesn't work like that. Why is this so outrageous ?
