1041  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Proposal] Mining Co-Op on: October 01, 2015, 07:17:00 PM
I used to host some hardware with allinvain a while back, but I didn't consider him as an option for this group buy because he recently was undercut by the competition.

However, I checked his page out last night, and it looks like he's dropped his rates considerably--and they are very competitive!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=500121.0
Converting that 6mo CAD figure to USD I get $49/KW, or $0.068/KW. I've contacted him for a bulk quote, I'll report back when I hear from him.

I think it might be wise to actually have a member visit these hosting locations if we get enough interest and if we're down to a few options. After all, price shouldn't be the only thing we're looking for in our hoster--and posting pics will help make this whole operation look more legitimate. As a canadian, it wouldn't be too expensive for me to go.

I'm fairly certain both GND and CryptoBoreas are both based out of the same town in labrador.

My S7 are going to be host by him ;-) He already host my S4.
1042  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 01, 2015, 06:05:58 PM
I just want to give some updates.
So my S7 is working realy good. Very happy with it. I realy feel sorry for all you guys how didn't get there unit yet!!

On the fitst day the power use was 1172.6w freq 600   4841
          two days later                   1182.9w freq 600   4824
          one week later                  1186.5w freq 600   4844

I don't hope he will keep this up........ Lips sealed

If your S7 can run like this for a week you should be good to go.  That's great!

I'm getting similar number after 24 hours. 4.79-4.80 for my 2 units. (looks like they are still going up a bit on the avg)
1043  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Bitmaintech s-7 underpreforms at freq 600 + freq 550 , not freq 500 (Fixed!) on: October 01, 2015, 05:38:09 PM
I'm using a combo Corsair RM1000 for one unit and one RM1000 / CS 750 for the other.

HW 0.01% and 0.02% (the one with the CX)

Stable 20 hours 4.8TH for both.

1044  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB][CA/QC]Thinking of buying some S7s? Then sell me your S3/S5's! on: October 01, 2015, 04:38:35 PM
Thanks to users who made me offers, i'm still looking to pickup another deal or two within a week. Please contact me if you have some tasty offers. Wink

I'm in Ottawa and sold S3s in June to Montreal. It looks like the prices have held up since then.

Sound about right, they were 0.3BTC~ then. They seem about 0.25BTC~ now. So fairly good on retaining their value when you consider people are trying to sell small batches of S1's for 5$ a piece.

5$ for S1, where ? Tongue

It was a guy dumping all this S1s and S2, the S1 lot for 11 was 90$ or so, the S2's were 100$ each. Would be nice face to face but if you ship them, then not so much.

Yeah, shipping = deal killer Tongue

Yes, indeed. Otherwise i would of taken the S1 lot i think. I'm thinking of building a rack of S1 with no fans and use those to replace my electric heating for the winter in my room.

They would be completely silent and cover the heating cost of my room for winter. Smiley

I think they would required a fan. My modded S1 cards (at 0.9-1w/gh) was getting too hot without one

1048  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: October 01, 2015, 04:12:27 PM
Herbpean - what's your errors look like? Even shares that aren't registered as over diff, if they're not error shares, should clear the reset timer. We have sticks running at diff 512 that don't reset because they're submitting valid shares regardless of the pool vardiff. If a stick submitted no shares to cgminer (not the pool, cgminer), or submitted only error shares, for a period of ten seconds, it would reset. If everything's working properly (chip has good voltage, stays cool etc) that should be a very unlikely condition.

The stick is set to 150 mhz, my guess it's the voltage. (I had to crank it up a bit) I have 0 HW as speak but it's only running since 1 hour. Maybe i'm too close from what my usb can handle in term of amp.

I restarted my cgminer with diff set to 8, no reset yet.

It would looks like this message

[2014-04-10 10:16:01] ANU 8 COMPAC X: No valid hashes for over 53 10 secs, attempting to reset
[2014-04-10 10:16:01] ANU 8 COMPAC X attempted reset got err:(0) LIBUSB_SUCCESS

EDIT: the chip is cold, I have a use fan pointing at him.
EDIT: other then the reset ... it's looks all good, getting 8.29gh pool side (ck solo pool with our group)

Quick question, My compact reset overtime (10 sec without hashing detected).

During the night it reseted 4 times, I use a diff of 16.

I will lower it to 8.
1051  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: October 01, 2015, 02:50:37 PM
After 1 hour and 20 minutes I have 4.81TH and 4.79TH. Default freq of 600.

I had a front fan protector that had a hit and I had to "repair" it so it doesn't enter in contact with the fan.

Except that everything looks good.

I use 2 RM 1000 on one and 1 RM1000 and CX750 for the second unit.

Will keep you posted.

EDIT: temps are at around 49-49-51 and 51-49-51
EDIT2: HW 0.0104% and 0.0176%

Similar numbers after 17 hours.

1053  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] S5 daughter board on: October 01, 2015, 02:46:19 PM
With 16 or 18 pin data cable connections ?

Not sure, I will take a look when I back home.

I guess all the S5 has the same cables.

I just got my miners, Version 1.7

No dust, looks new, smells new.

I'm at job ... will leave soon to test them.

Herb

Did they still look and smell new when you got them home?

No dust from what I can tell so pretty much minus the front metalic protector got hit somehow (custom i guess). I had to remove it and fix it. It's all good now ;-)

@Bitmain Guys you have a what it looks like to be a typo in the paper you provide with the miner. In point #5, you mention at first S7 then ... "If operating the S5+ at home, ..."

Just saying Tongue
