Great! See you tomorrow. Smiley

I almost bid 425.01 but just because it's you, I didn't do it !

Congrats sir  ;-)

762  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Avalon 6's are in undervolt + down clock results. on: January 23, 2016, 02:37:46 AM
Just plugged mine into one of my DPS-2000BB. (I'm missing one c19-c20 cable for the second PSU) I had 12.17 volts without any device connected and now having 12.06 with the Avalon and 1 S1.

GUI showing 11.9 volt running 3.34TH (only 40 mins) 3.444TH (after 60 mins) and it was running at 3.25TH (around 24 hours) with my seasonic 1250w volt was at 11.8-11.9 at GUI.

The extra 0.1-0.2 (12.1 and 12.2) seems to push it to 3.5-3.7TH.

Yeah my 11.9 -11.8 (reading 12.07 at my PSU) is 3.333TH in 21 hours.

I like it !

I need to open my PSUs next to adjust the Voltage. I will think about it. I mean pushing it for 200gh is cool but still not a lot Tongue

I was thinking 12.35. I want to power some SP20 with it too but i have been told there would be no issues with SP20 at that voltage.

Yan will be sending me an avalon6 replacement board.  Not free of charge which is fair since I burned it from my stupidity.

He did give me a discount for running the group buy.

So to all avalon6 owners  do not use a psu with more then 12.5 volts  and when you check the gui make sure it is under 12.3 volts

I want to thank Yan for the replacement part in advance.

Great news Smiley

Yeah it will cost me ,but  not full.    Full replacement price is about  500 + shipping.

It is only fair that I pay since I was running it at 12.7 psu side  12.5 gui side

Yeah i'm glad you had an discount. Well deserve ;-)

You got an HowTo ?

Thanks this is awesome !

By what I see on the picture, it looks like you have some damage around the cap so the board might be lost.  Sad (I am no expert)

Otherwise, you could just have replace the cap.

They should give you a board for the hard work you do with their product ! Tongue

@philipma1957 Before you mention running it at 11.75v for a lower noise, and now I'm scared leaving mine running at 11.7v, since you mention it should be between 11.8v-12.2v. Should I be scared you think?

I don't think underclocking can result in dmg. Likely just bad performace but you should confirm it with Avalon or BlockC to be 100% sure.

For now, I would play by the rules until further information.

Damm sucks Sad

Maybe you can send the board to them for repair ?

Doing 3.26 TH after 6 hours. I just a bit under the -+ 5%.

I blame my Seasonic 1250w. I see 11.8-11.9 Volt.

I wish they were a bit cheaper, I would replace all my S3 at home.

Great miner !

EDIT: Thanks to Kilo17, Phil and Yan for the opportunity ! Smiley

That is some master packaging Phil ! Cheesy

I just opened the box ;-)

yes I thought I did well, but Yan  of block_C really did a good job getting the 10 to me safely  and really well packed.

I did a little extra packing for yours and Valkir basically so that it would get thorough customs and also since it was 2 pieces to keep it safe from smashing.

I give you 10/10 !!!!

Thanks !

I will install mine tonight Smiley

Please don't, someone is taking you for a ride... In short $2700 is $1,000 over market for that hash rate with 2X S7, which in your case is very important since your electric is crazy high.

Indeed, your overpay way too much ... more efficient hardware are available now and for less then what you're going to pay. (Reason I posted the link). Efficiency means the number of watt used per GH.

Your 21.3 cents per kWh make no sens at all for mining.

I suggest you do some search first before going any further with your investment. I would avoid, whoever wanted to sell you the S5+ as a good source of information to get you into mining.

I pay like 0.06 cents per kWh in Quebec, Canada. Big farm like bitfury/antpool probably pay like 0.02-0.03 cents per kw (speculating here but they pay less for sure.)

In short, your proposition makes no sens for anyone.
779  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: IBM 4KW PSU (Dual DPS-2000BB) Breakout Boards and Packages!!! on: January 20, 2016, 04:12:59 PM
Not sure Kilo,  when I was testing via the EVGA which connects the S7 to my 120V outlet to my Wemo Insight, it was showing pulling 1540W at the wall.  I would assume the EVGA G2 1300W efficiency rating is similar to the IBM PSU or worst as the 2KW PSU is not Platinum.    So if I use 1540 x 90% which I doubt the IBM PSU is that efficient = 1386W x 3 =4158W.  Seems overloaded to me but I don't have any tools to measure wattage for my 240V line.

Also I think your math above may be off by 1 digit perhaps typo or close key, but 1290W at 93% efficiency from Bitmain info x 3 S7 is 3870W.  These PSU are no where near 93% and even if they can get 90% they're at 100% load.  I think people are saying these are somewhere in the high 80s range efficiency right?  That would make it way over.  I'm running them now and the garage is plenty cold so it's not an issue right now, but concern when spring / summer hits.

You are correct, I calculated at 1210 (oops), Finsky has corrected me below.  But to clear up, the PSU puts out 2000 watts and the efficiency has to do with the draw at the wall and not how many watts are put out on the 12 volt side.

@Finsky, do all of the revisions have the voltage trim pot on the inside or only the older revisions?  I want to order some more packages but do not necessarily need the trim on the breakout board since it is so easy to adjust on the inside.  thanks

Jabber confirmed me that up to Rev10 they have all the internal Pot.
