can you name me a few? the queen theory you mentioned I have never heard before but sounds great.
Errors of thought by Pythagoras? Start with the perfect solids and go from there. :-)

$19,150 or so just now, looks like the paypal people are waking up. And yes, just who are these people selling bitcoins?

so you can't name any.  Wink

OK, it's Altcoin season again.

That's why Bitcoin is a bit stale in the last few days.

Shouldn't take too long before Altcoins get dumped again and the money flows back into Bitcoin ;-)

I think it's the other way about. Alts are going up because bitcoin is a bit stale.

What did you call me?!?

Got my pop corn  Grin Grin Grin

You have just made me realize that the opposite of pop corn is cop porn.

I am not sure what to do with this newfound knowledge.

I recommend wrapping it into some defi yield farming swap including a proper rug pull and claim it was a hack = profit

hey elrippo! how are you? I am contemplating over another bet. I don't believe we will have a 80% correction after new ATH spike next year. are you interested?  Grin

left wing conspiracy theories? could you name a few for me?
The queen of England is the head of a nazi drug running cabal.

Oh wait, that's not a theory. :-)

The ultimate problem I have with extreme liberals is the same problem I have with extreme conservatives: They both believe in the concept of Platonic thought as presented by Pythagoras: The belief that the laws of the universe can be discerned by pure thought and logic. In other words, reality is subjective. And in that regard there is little to no difference in extreme D and extreme R: Same thought system with slightly different starting points.

My belief is more along the lines of Aristarchus who posits that the universe can be understood through observation as opposed to derived from basic principles. Reality, to put it simply, exists outside of our own perceptions and assumptions. How closely one aligns their view of the universe to the observed state of the universe determines what one might call "happiness".

427  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 24, 2020, 10:17:13 AM
And then it occurred to me: a lot of people do believe what he has to say, about anything, and for all intents and purposes they are (supposedly) in their "right minds." For whatever reason (ego, inability to admit they were wrong, mainly), a lot of people still unflinchingly swallow his ghastly tacky, overcaloric swill and down it as "truth."

Sure, a lot of people believe crazy right-wing conspiracy theories.

But a lot of lefties believe crazy left-wing conspiracy theories too.

desperate dumpers. never ends. satoshi discovered digital scarcity. comparable to discovery of usage of electricity. comparable to the invention of the internet. short the internet? short electricity? dump on digitization of value? sure. have fun staying poor.  Cheesy

you can all stop posting. I ran out of merit. saw a few merit worthy posts on the last page or so but out of ammo. still waiting for the day theymos comes out with his mega stash and telling us to convert earned merit 1:1 with whole btc.

Have some fun with the ten I gave you. Think it goes to 5.

obvious merit begging was too obvious I guess. thx a lot, sir. and yes, it went to 5 and I was tempted to send them to you. merit burning. proof of merit... lol

@600watt

this is to all the PayPal news naysayers. Pantera Capital claims that PayPal is forced to buy btc 1:1 as customers push the "buy" button.
Ok, then all good! If that's confirmed by math and science, and Pantera Capital, we shouldn't worry anymore.

I really don't see how can it NOT be 1:1. Are you implying that PayPal taking the exposure themselves and covering the other side of the trade when gramma buys paper BTC through paypal? What would be the purpose of that, risk their $225B market cap when BTC swings up and gramma wants to take profit?

Pretty sure that's Rule#1 of any financial institution, don't bet with your own money. When they're not party to a trade they make money on volume regardless of the price.

paypal has no choice. they are operating under a New York State bitlicense legal framework. they are obligated to keep 1:1 BY LAW.

this is to all the PayPal news naysayers. Pantera Capital claims that PayPal is forced to buy btc 1:1 as customers push the "buy" button.

Quote
When PayPal went live, volume started exploding. The increase in itBit volume implies that within four weeks of going live, PayPal is already buying almost 70% of the new supply of bitcoins.
PayPal and Cash App are already buying more than 100% of all newly-issued bitcoins.

Pantera Capital owns bitstamp, so they kinda sorta know I would say.

https://www.crypto-news-flash.com/paypal-users-are-buying-huge-amounts-of-bitcoin-data-shows/

the original medium post of Pantera Capital is ssssssuuuuuper bullish af. there are some weird sentences about shitcoins in there as well, but the rest is some real bull conviction.

and to all of you who wondered if Dan Morehead and Mike Novogratz´s funds have enough ammo:

Quote
“Dan put in a big wedge of capital, and at that point, Pete Briger and I, who were the other two amigos of the threesome, Fortress had done well, we were certainly wealthier, and we were like, ‘Damn, if he’s putting that in, we have to at least put one dollar more than him.’ And so, in lots of things in investing, if you get in at good levels early and you put a lot in, it makes the whole game a lot easier. We bought like 90,000 coins between the three of us.

 Shocked

credit goes to our guy Gyrsur

edit: paypal is forced to buy 1:1, but they are not forced to sell in the same way. they are the worlds biggest bank when it comes to customer count. they will soon be also the worlds largest bitcoin exchange. they see all the orders of all their customers. they could buy/sell strategically in order to profit on the spread. they will buy the dips in order to sell the coins to their customers later. it is actually also a reason why we don't see retail demand through google searches: PayPal users don't need to to google "bitcoin", they just click a button on their PayPal site. 100mio users of btc network needed ten years to build up. 300mio PayPal users could enter the game in no time. combine that with institutional fomo and supply halving. perfect storm.  imagine someone put up hundreds of millions of bitcoin ATM's at once. (they are in the tens of thousands currently) and that is what PayPal sort of did: adding 300 mio virtual btc ATM's with one stroke.

How long before we have our first all-ATH sweep across the board?
It may not quite make 20K but tonight I'm gonna party like it's $19,990 Cool

Nostalgia strikes again:

Nice wick on Bitstamp BTC:EUR market. This is the 1 minute chart. Looks like a single market-sell order.  Cheesy

I saw that also, quite an impressive dump. can this stupidity be explained? who ever did this - the seconds it was bought back must have been really scary for the dumper.  Cheesy
439  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: November 22, 2020, 08:51:20 AM

friends don't let friends buy shitcoins.

Cheesy
