+1 - but I'm holding...

looking for 40,000 by week end...

this interruption is service has shown the investing communiity about the dedication and seriousness of the devs - they didn't just take their money and run.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SCAM PREVENTION] Premine Escrow - The Solution To Premine Dumping on: July 30, 2014, 05:36:04 PM
actually - this come at a perfect time because I'm getting ready to release a coin and was going to insist on a premine escrow.

It makes sense, there is no reason why a dev would need unlimited access to premine funds with zero accountability.

We need to clean up our community and put checks and balances is place to ensure a safe and fair future for everything crypto.

The scams are ruining our community and the pools/miners/traders need to take a stand.

all great stuff - I donlt think their ruining it but what it does do is to cause all of us to immediately treat any of the coin devs as criminals - of course some of them deserve it! - LOL

I work for a Hedge Fund in I.T. so I am used to full transparency - it's kind of a way of life for me.

What surprises me most around these parts is the amount of trust people put into coins devs who simply show up with a new username each time they release a coin and hide under a cloak of anonimity - that is just wrong and should not be tolerated. There needs to be transparency

Good idea.

I hope that for coins which have a longer PoW period premine will be completely replaced with a percentage of each block mined, similarily how AidBit does it. So instead of the devs getting a massive amount of coins on launch, they would slowly get like 0.5% of every block mined so they would actually be motivated to follow up on the coin as they would only get the usual premine amount at the end of the PoW phase - which is why it's only preferable with long PoW coins.

I really like this. I am trying to come up with a plan what will makes IPO investors and miners confident in the coin I plan on releasing.

actually - this come at a perfect time because I'm getting ready to release a coin and was going to insist on a premine escrow.

in addition the premine escrow should be published with certain release dates for the escrowed amount. The last thing an investor wants is the coin dev undermining his/her investment.

Investors should be free to do as they please with their coins though.

thoughts?

have any of the exchanges updated to the new wallet?

Yes they have. However I am still waiting to make sure the network is extremely healthy before asking exchanges to resume trading.

when the dust has settled can you give us a brief synopisis of exactly what happened and why the multiple wallet upgrades?

I ask specifically because I'm in the process of taking over a large established pool that hosts several coins and will be adding via and a few others shortly after I take it over plus I'm working on the business plan now for a new coin - I like to enhance my own knowledge of what 'not to do' from anything I can learn here from other coin devs.

thanks in advance.

this might help. i think that's what happened.

450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⟳ [ANN][CAPT] CAPTcoin - 100% distributed - No IPO on: July 30, 2014, 11:23:57 AM
I keep redoing and redoing the captchas and I still can't get it

what am I doing wrong, the third one is especially hard. am I supposed to add the spaces also? I tried every variance and still can't get it

Here's another (graphical) example:

In this case, you need to enter
Code:
rGn33

Note
Code:
rGn 33
(with a space) is also acceptable.

However
Code:
33rGn
or
Code:
rgn33
is not valid.

If you can't read the code, click the button:

It will show another image without changing the text (and therefore without changing the answer).

bad design too complex - totally fucked up - I'm out

Why via disable in bittrex ?

read prior posts - it's just temporarily while a possible problem is being researched... It should be back on line within a few years... LOL

so - let me re-ask my question in order to get a straight answer.

are the via coins that I'm mining right now on 1gh valid - will I be able to transfer them from my wallet to bittrex???
it depend on the fork the dev will choose. if they choose the 1gh fork, your coin are valid otherwise they are not valid.

edit : if I where you, I would mine another coin until further news

I think you should stick to spamming threads about you pool that no one uses...- your desperation for hash is self evident.

Why not just start your own thread instead of interloping on everyone else's thread. I'll stay where I am thank you.

New client version is out, other pools have not updated yet. Blockexplorers are on the new version already.

so what does this mean?

are my mined VIA coins from 1GH.com good on bittrex or not?
I assume they will upgrade their wallet pretty soon and your coins will arrive. 1GH, blockexplorers, vialectrum are all on version 0.10.1, other pools are still on 0.10.0, trex is informed about the new version (as far as I know)

is 10.1 and the new fork and 10.0 the old fork?

??
