441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 23, 2023, 08:04:47 PM

I just realized that we will never see PBA games for several months from now as the 48th season will be in October instead (from September) because of a conflict of schedules on events. It's to show the league support for Gilas in this year's FIBA World Cup which will be held on August 23 - September 10 and the ASIAN games, which will be held on September 23 – October 8, 2023.

For now, what the Gilas is currently focused on is to prepare in reclaiming the gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games Men's Basketball which will be held from May 5 - May 17, 2023. Justin Brownlee is so hyped to play right now and motivated to reclaim the gold medal for the Gilas after his last PBA Finals loss.

To summarize, Gilas is so busy this year that's why PBA needs to do some adjustments:

- SouthEast Asian Games - May 5 - May 17
- FIBA World Cup - August 23 - September 10
- ASIAN Games - September 23 - October 8, 2023
- PBA 48th season - mid-October ETA with only 2 conferences (All-Filipino or either Commissioners Cup or Governors Cup)
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 23, 2023, 07:36:14 PM
It is possible for him to unify the belts in this division. If he will continue winning, he can challenge the other belt holder and unify everything at his age. He still got that winning capability.

I'm not sure if there will be a chance for Donaire to still unify "all the belts" at 118 lbs providing his current age and status.

Just for the record, since Naoya Inoue vacated all his Bantamweight titles, only 1 vacant title is fulfilled at this point, the WBA that is now being held by Naoya's younger brother, Takuma Inoue, just this month. The vacant WBC title, which will be contested between Donaire and Santiago doesn't have any official date yet. The vacant IBF Bantamweight title between Emmanuel Rodriguez and Melvin Lopez also doesn't have any official date yet. For the vacant WBO Bantamweight title, Vincent Astrolabio and Jason Moloney will clash next month. In some cases, these champions will have a mandatory title defense first before having a unification fight.

As for Donaire, I think he might get a chance to unify at least 2 belts between the ages of 41-42. After that, if he still continues winning, I don't know if he will still continue his boxing career to pursue the other belts in that division.

Anyways, just a speculation of mine about the chances of Donaire unifying all the belts since he is now 40 years old. It's not that boxers can settle and deal a fight at least twice a year. Time is running for Donaire if the goal is unifying all the belts although no harm in trying and that will be a record-breaking if happened.
443  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 23, 2023, 07:10:29 PM
My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?

Money is not the only thing that can be put at risk or at stake to be considered gambling.

Maybe we can rephrase the question into "Can it still be called gambling if we don't have to put anything at risk at all" or something along those lines.

Checking the website mentioned, it's clear that the game is "Free to Play" although not digging yet some details as for sure there are lots of "footnotes" there as part of the Terms and Conditions. More likely, just the same as how "free contest" events go.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Live casino over provably fair games. on: April 23, 2023, 06:48:10 PM
I don't know why but i mostly lose on provably fair, when  start betting then some times the graph stay green, after betting some more bets it become red and go straight down, draining my balance.

That's what you called your "own scenario". You end up at the point where you discover a certain pattern or situation. It happened to everyone and it varies with each other. But technically, don't make things too complicated. It's just that sometimes, you have to understand that the situation won't always favor you.

In other words, that's what gambling is all about - to win or to lose - regardless if it's a live casino or the usual online casino game.

If you are having a bad losing streak on a particular session, take a break, that's it.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 22, 2023, 11:25:04 PM
Looks like Giannis isn’t going to play today in the Bucks game vs the Heat here in an hour. This is a good opportunity for the Miami Heat to take control of the series. I think it’s a good move by the Bucks to rest him though. They need him healthy and I’m sure they can afford to trade a win for a healthy superstar going forward.

Not sure though if I can consider that as a good opportunity for the Miami Heat to take control of the series if Giannis is out tonight for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Referring to Game 2, the Bucks were able to pin down hard the Miami Heat even playing without Giannis. Lots of their gunners established good field goal shooting percentages from the perimeter and beyond the arc. The Bucks established 25 3-pointers that night.

I agree with you that the Bucks made a good decision to just sit out Giannis tonight. They need him in the later part of the series and to avoid a possible bad scenario wherein Giannis might be out of the series because of his injury. On the other hand, Miami Heat's Tyler Herro is now out of the series because of the injury he sustained in Game 1. If things will be fortunate for the Miami Heat, Herro's return will be in the NBA Finals.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: April 22, 2023, 10:40:27 PM
Knowing that most platforms would be having that 2x requirement at least on their deposit on which it turns out to be a default thing.

I think OP clearly understands that there's obviously a wagering requirement at all deposits but got surprised that it's around 5x turnover that needed to be fulfilled on the gambling site he's referring to. Usually, the wagering requirement for all deposits at most gambling sites, even crypto or fiat sites, is only x1, especially if there are no bonuses or promotions involved. In that case, those big gamblers that always deposit big amounts have no choice but to wager x5 of their big money deposit which really will take time before can do any withdrawals.

But rules are rules, terms are terms. There's no unfair approach to that as in the first place, the said gambling site isn't forcing anybody to play at their site. I believed the wagering requirement for deposits is not usually mentioned on the terms that's why next time, OP should know what to do and charge that experience as his reference in the future.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: April 22, 2023, 10:17:05 PM

Spence-Crawford: Showtime’s Espinoza 'Optimistic' Fight 'Gets Done,' But No Announcement Saturday

Maybe they just build up hype. It's confirmed already that no official announcement will be made, supposedly on April 22nd, before or after the fight between Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis. All talks are just being positive and that's it. The same scenario last year lol.

That's why I'm really skeptical and doubtful that this fight will just be right away materialized out of nowhere when this news came up. But still, let's wait if there might be a surprise before or after the fight later on between Garcia and Davis.

Well then if no announcement will be made later, hopefully, both parties can finalize the deal this year even though the fight won't be on June 17.
448  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: April 22, 2023, 09:57:31 PM

I spoke to a friend about Bitcoin and he asked if it is safe to invest Pension funds in Bitcoin considering the fact that this is a retirement saving. I am skeptical of investing people's funds in this coin because it can't be predicted also we cannot overlook the fact that Bitcoin may enhance investment returns at retirement.
However, my findings from people that work in these organizations say contributor's funds in some categories can be invested in risky investments because of the high return on investment and contributors have the option to opt for this option but with the exception of the soon-to-retiree.

Regarding bitcoin "being safe" will be subjective to different people depending on how well they understand bitcoin as a whole.

As per reading your story, it seems to me that your friend isn't that involved much in crypto and maybe only has a little knowledge about Bitcoin as a whole including the associated risks and how volatile it is. Feed his mind first about bitcoin in general.

Instead of directly answering that question by your friend, why not give a piece of advice to start involved in crypto from now on and build experience? If your friend is really serious about knowing Bitcoin, soon as he progresses, he will come up with the point that he will know the best answer to his own question.
449  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Essential one to new traders in Crypto currency on: April 22, 2023, 09:43:00 PM
The following steps will help such new people to avoid loss from the crypto currency trading.

Rather than saying "to avoid loss", much better if we say "to minimize loss".

Even those considered professional and long-term traders can't avoid losing at trades, regardless of the market trend. To prevent or avoid losing money in trading is something impossible to happen knowing how volatile and unpredictable the crypto market is. We can't avoid it but somehow we can minimize it.

For me, it's better for new players to experience struggles and challenges right away during the start of their trading journey in crypto for them to realize what's the best thing to do in the future. Remember those users who started their journey at bull run? I believed almost the entire of them thinks that earning money in crypto is easy and they are all smart during the bull run. But when the bear trend came, I also believed that almost the entire of them vanished.

Building experience is the key. These new players will soon become experienced ones if they will be serious to build and progress their crypto-trading journey.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 20, 2023, 11:34:58 PM
The good news is that TNT is currently ahead, which increases the likelihood that this game will go to a Game 7.

Not sure though even the rumored script that the series will end at Game 7 no matter what by those PBA critics will be activated.

If Ginebra will play without Justin Brownlee or even not at his 100% healthy status, it's hard to deal with TNT especially since their import is always consistent. As I previously mentioned, RHJ's full performance can only be stopped by Brownlee. Without Brownlee's presence on the floor, RHJ will just maintain his aggressiveness as his number 1 defender is out. Even Christian Standhardinger admitted that it's tough to do defense, not just against RHJ but to all TNT gunners if Brownlee is not there.

As far as the recent news is concerned about the status of Justin Brownlee, he is now out of the hospital but didn't attend the team practice. Ginebra is also expecting him not in his 100% healthy condition in Game 6.

Brownlee out of the hospital, but fitness a question mark ahead of Game 6
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting vs fantasy sports on: April 20, 2023, 11:09:15 PM
What's yours? Do you consider both of them same or different?

Technically, both are gambling. Once there's money at risk for bettors, we can consider that as gambling already regardless of how it was played.

Aside from that, both sports betting and fantasy sports required not just being good at doing analysis (skill-based) but also having good decision-making skills. Although generally, we can't take out the fact that luck also plays a role in both, regardless if the gambling is skill-based or what.

It now depends on the bettor's own preferences on how they define or compared both.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: April 20, 2023, 10:47:02 PM
So hopefully, there's indeed a news in the Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis fight. Hopefully it's against Thurman or Crawford.

I think we should take out Keith Thurman now as there's not even a bit of fresh, updated, and recent news about him. It's like before that he is not active and may be on hiatus again. Even prior to the sudden news about this rumored fight between Terrence Crawford and Errol Spence (I say rumored, as no official announcement yet), anything about Thurman is out of the news.

Back to the topic, yes we should expect the official announcement on this fight on April 22 as stated when this news came out. Maybe after the fight between Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis, an update will be followed.

The June 17 date can't be considered as the official date without the official announcement. It was not yet a done deal until it was announced officially.
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 20, 2023, 10:24:49 PM
One way to find it out is when they already starting to work with their strategy, both are KO specialist so for sure it's anyone's fight, whoever will land the solid punches and continue to make a follow up combo will take this fight, with experienced there's advantage for Tank here, he can play Garcia to be aggressive and expose him.

But like what you mentioned, a clean shot can take anyone down and conclude the outcome of this fight!

Technically speaking, these are one of the disadvantages that most boxing analyst pointed out to both boxers:

Gervonta Davis = Height disadvantage, Reach Disadvantage (166 cm, 171 cm, respectively)
Ryan Garcia = For most of his fights, it's always noted that his chin is always exposed. For a boxer like Tank, it's a dangerous thing to just expose that part to him.

However, even referring to both boxers' advantages and disadvantages, it's honestly really hard to make an analysis here on who has the upper hand. There are lots of "what if" scenarios here that can be a turning point in winning the match on either of them. Just a few hours of sleep and we will now witness who will emerge victorious in this fight.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: April 20, 2023, 10:07:04 PM
But it take back profit.. I have 2k balance.. is there method

To get 100 $ per day

100$ daily profit from doing casino gambling is possible, "only" if you're lucky and the situation always favors you.

My question for you is;

- Based on your own perspective, is that a realistic thing to always expect to happen every time you gamble?
- Are you sure that you will stop once you hit the $100 profit target daily?
- What if your said session is a bad day, will you stop or still push on the $100 daily?

The bottom line is, just play gambling without a specific daily profit target and don't rely on that. Once you win enough, take a break. Once you lose, also take a break. Don't rely on gambling for a fixed income especially if we are referring to playing casino games where luck is the only thing you can depend on to win.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 19, 2023, 11:58:29 PM

Can't blame Ginebra locals on why they didn't able to keep that lead when Brownlee was being sidelined.

Brownlee is really the key to matching TNT's import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. It's just that when Brownlee got sidelined, that's only the time RHJ got the advantage and bounce back TNT on that 14-point lead at the start of the second half. Ginebra's coach Tim Cone admitted that they are having difficulty in rebounding as RHJ now owned the paint as no one from the locals can contain him, at least at 100%.

As per Coach Tim, Brownlee's situation is severe. Correct me if I'm wrong but when it is called severe, that is really painful. Hopefully, Brownlee will be at 100% healthy status on Game 6 no matter what. Don't want to see a Finals game where the other team is handicapped.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you favor betting on spesific sport? on: April 19, 2023, 11:37:00 PM

Interest, knowledge, and being a fan sort of - some of the keys to somehow increasing our winning chance betting on that said sport.

Since we are familiar with the sports, "specifically with the league" itself, we can create a good analysis of what would be the match result should be like. Knowledge of the league is one of the key elements in creating a wild forecast analysis.

Don't always stick with that mindset of a 50/50 chance in sports if, on the other hand, we can increase that 50% winning chance in the first place. Not unless we are talking about betting on other sports or leagues we are not familiar with, maybe we can consider that as a 50/50 chance bet.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: April 18, 2023, 11:58:22 PM
Even in perfect condition, I hope the injury will not hinder the performance of Inoue.  There are cases where a person, even though fully healed, is affected by the injury(psychological effect).  I hope to see a 100% performing Inoue in the fight against Fulton on July 25.

I must say, nothing to worry about that. Knowing how Inoue deals with his difficulties on the ring during a match, if there are any, something like that won't trigger something related to psychological wherein there will be a concern that the said injury might worsen if forced.

Remember when he was beaten badly by Nonito Donaire Jr. during the early rounds of their first meetup? That was even worst compare to that recent hand injury but no such thing as Inoue being affected mentally during that fight and in the end, he was still able to bounce back and won the fight unanimously.

I'm sure if everything goes smoothly and he is really fit to fight, he will give his 100% performance in that fight.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 18, 2023, 11:40:09 PM

Referring to the stats last game, I doubt a script is in action on that game. Cheesy

If let's say TNT is supposed to win that game, which they did, stats should be favored them and not Ginebra.

Specifically, what I'm pointing are:

- fouls committed on both teams are just identical
- more free throws attempt were made by Ginebra
- Ginebra even has a good FG% on that game

Even though I'm a Ginebra fan, I will give credit to all TNT gunners for winning that game with effort and hard work.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 18, 2023, 11:17:55 PM
Durant needs to step up and push everyone they need to work as one and show that aggressiveness to win the game, they are inside their home court and fans are there to support them.

Seems inappropriate for me to say that Kevin Durant needs to step up when he's always showing good consistency and A+ level performance since he wears the Suns' jersey and if we refer to his Game 1 stats. Actually, it's not that the Suns' lose because of a lack of aggressiveness from him or to those parts of the core but sh*t happened to them during the last few minutes of that game. Kudos to Los Angeles Clippers for keeping the rhythm until the end that's why they won.

Looking forward to both teams in a close game situation again here in Game 2 where it's hard to predict who will be the winner until the final buzzer rings.

Betting-wise, as a pure bettor and not a fan of either of the teams, the handicap for the Clippers seems worth trying.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: April 18, 2023, 10:51:53 PM
1. always set a budget for playing slots and stick to it. do not chase losses or try to win back what you have lost by playing more.

Easy to say but hard to do. Tell that to those hardcore slot players and they will just ignore you.

Setting a budget will just lead to more attempts, believe me. The key here is to be responsible enough to stop no matter what or take a break regardless of the budget for that particular session.

2. if a slot machine does not hit in 7-10 spins, consider trying a different machine. this can help you avoid getting stuck on a losing streak and losing more money.
3. if you have been playing a slot machine for 50 spins and have not gotten any free spins or big wins, consider switching to a different machine.
this can help you avoid wasting money on a machine that is unlikely to pay out.

I have to disagree with that strategy. As a long-time slot player, I tend to challenge that losing streak until that winning came. Of course, it's not that I will just allow my balance depleted waiting for that win. It depends on how I observe my spin results. I have a better winning rate when challenging that losing streak.

But generally, if you play for 50 spins then you don't get any big wins, triggered the features, free spins, scatter, or even wild win, on most of your sessions then better switch careers as gambling it's 100% not for you, simple as that.

6. if you do hit a big win, consider tipping any nearby players who may have been unlucky or busting. This can help spread good karma and keep the atmosphere positive.

You tip, because you want to share your winnings, not to expect that luck will come to you because you are spreading good karma.

The bottom line is, there's no trick on how to win on slots.

Once you win decently win on slots, try to take a break and enjoy your winnings. Not because you are currently on a lucky streak, it will lasts long.
