441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Excessive Bitcoin fees on: February 12, 2024, 06:13:06 PM

I recall this same thing happened in 2017, so it appears to be a recurring issue. What about people with only small portions of bitcoin, that end up being stuck, because transaction fee exceeds total value?

Well, there are some people here who had this issue before who are stuck on sending BTC to other wallets or exchanges due to the fee exceeding the total amount of BTC.
What they can only do is wait for the network to become less congested and fees drop suggested by mempool.space there is nothing we can do about this issue.

However, if you still insist on making a transaction while the network is congested you can try to make a transaction with low fees and accelerate it using Viabtc accelerator just make sure that transaction doesn't exceed the 0.5 KB size so that you can submit it to the free accelerator.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Excessive Bitcoin fees on: February 12, 2024, 05:51:00 PM
I'm a bit confused about what you trying to say but Bitcoin will never become centralized because Satoshi made Bitcoin for decentralization.

If the fees are rising it's just temporary there is something going on that is why you see transaction fees rise just like today because the price touched above $50k that is why people right now panic to move their BTC to the exchange before it drops and make a profit.
443  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC TOUCHED $50K TODAY. BULL RUN IS HERE? on: February 12, 2024, 04:50:20 PM
What do you mean bull run is close? I think you mean that this is the end of the bull market after the price touched $50k we see a new high price this year but this is not yet the new ATH and it is not the end of the bull market because block halving is not done yet.

You are too excited for bear market be calm this is not the end of bull market we see price jump but that doesn't mean sooner or later bear market comes.
444  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Trouble installing cgminer on Raspberry Pi on: February 11, 2024, 11:26:06 PM
Followed the guide and got the same exact errors again  Huh

I heard someone that they fixed the issue by downgrading the RaspiOS to version 10.
Others also said they fixed their issue by switching to Debian Bullseye 32bit you can try it and hope it also works for you.

Here's the source where I found it https://forum.blocktrainer.de/t/cgminer-kompilierung-2-fehler/34329/12
445  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buying accounts directly or using crypto prepaid VCC for card-only accounts? on: February 11, 2024, 10:51:54 PM
The problem with Binance or Coinbase as their KYC requirements. I don't believe in having to sacrifice identity when not having to, and you simply don't have to for a VCC.

I'll look into zyptopay.com.
Someone is promoting it here just last month https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5483254.0
You can judge by yourself that there is self-promotion under that thread that makes zyptopay suspicious.  For now, I can't trust them but you can try just make sure to spend only what you can afford to lose.

How about a Visa prepaid card it might be also work on a subscription monthly basis I just found a thread and I think they are still active here on the forum you can check their thread from this link below no KYC required so it should be the right offer you looking for.  The only problem is I  don't know if you can refill the card but try to ask the stealth and maybe they can able to refill the card.

446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: compressed and uncompressed addresses on: February 11, 2024, 09:55:10 PM
I believe the wallet I used was called the Mycelium Wallet, that was the first time I tried using the wallet and I can't tell the reason the transaction as wasn't successful

Mycelium should work to send and receive BTC to or from segwit(bech32) BTC address you might be using the old version of Mycelium wallet which is why it wasn't successful when you are trying to send BTC and Mycelium wallet is very problematic it always disconnected from mycelium server or sometimes stuck on syncing so maybe on that time when you are sending BTC from Mycelium wallet the server is offline that is why the transaction fail to broadcast.
I suggest switch to a better wallet like Electrum because Mycelium had this issue since before.
447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Browser app with a crypto wallet. on: February 11, 2024, 08:39:54 PM
I checked the browser wallets and I tried to figure out some appurtenant features about the browser wallets but I noticed that Bitcoin wasn't among, so this makes me ask WHY? Although, you can check the browser wallet to see if Bitcoin is hidden somewhere that I couldn't find.
Thanks.

I never heard that there is a Browser Bitcoin wallet if there is one then it is not safe to use and most browser wallet extension that I can find on Google are mostly custodial wallet  like other said "not your keys, not your coins".

And mostly like other said here the browser wallet on brave browser is for web3 usually defi and NFT games that needs to connect to a browser wallets.
Maybe on Metamask wallet you can see wrapped Bitcoin there but that's not a real Bitcoin it is a Ethereum based token supported by metamask wallet.

448  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help identifying this miner on: February 11, 2024, 05:43:08 AM
I have to disagree with the two gentlemen above, this miner is without a shadow of a doubt GAW miner fury, it has scrypt ASICs on it, it mines LTC/DOGE at a very low speed, so ya pretty useless, also, also, it's missing a cooling fan on the top, you could probably spot the 4 holes for the screws that attach to the heatsink.

And true for not having a control board, you can connect it on a Raspberry Pi and dig for the right software to control the chips, but again, not worth it unless you are doing it for fun, oh and please, don't forget to install the fan if you plan on running this.

I did some research and yeah it is a Gaw Miner Fury there is another miner that I found with a similar appearance it is called Zeusminer Blizzard they both use Scrypt algo that can mine Dogecoin and DGB.

It seems this is an old Scrypt miner that only hashing around 1.3mh/s that's not worth running because you can only earn 0.7 dogecoin or around 1dgb a month.
Since the power voltage of this unit is 12v I think running it with solar is the best option power is free and you can mine solo as a lottery for Dogecoin or DGB.
449  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Cold card connected to labtop on: February 11, 2024, 04:59:25 AM
No, it won't compromised it operates the same as other hardware wallets the only use of this is to sign transactions and to power coldcard the seed/private keys are stored in specialized chips it is separate only store secret keys.

If you don't feel safe after you connect it to the laptop there is no problem if you want to rebuild your wallet. You can also disable data connection by going to settings and disable USB data so that the next time you plug it into the laptop it only needs power and no data connection.
450  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S19 PRO Hydro - chain avg vol drop on: February 10, 2024, 08:22:56 PM
Now I see all failed and errors pointed to voltage and yes possible this is a PSU issue.

Is the unit plugged directly into the wall outlet or did you use an extension?
If you are using an extension it might be the cause of your problem because the extension outlet you have can't provide enough power. So try to plug the unit directly into the wall outlet.
Also, check the power cords if it's plugged properly or better replug them, and then test them again.

If not, for a temporary solution would you mind to try if you can run the unit at low power mode you can usually find it under pool configuration. If it works without this voltage error keep running it at LPM but if the issue still persists you don't have other choice but to replace the PSU.
451  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Sending P2PKH bitcoin to a P2PWKH address on: February 10, 2024, 04:17:08 PM
Like others said above you can't spend BTC from your wallet if you are trying to send or receive it to the bech32 address(segwit) with that Armory version it won't work and they already have a newer version that fixes this issue.

The latest version that fixed this issue is Armory 0.96.5 that you can download from the link below

452  Economy / Services / Re: Are you an Expert Bitcoin Developer ? I need your help ! on: February 10, 2024, 02:44:17 PM
You already have some threads about this public key bitcoin generator why did you create multiple threads?
Your concern is already been answered from this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5484692.0

You just need to make this thing clear because you can generate public key anywhere without the private key offline sample this one below

download the page and you can run it on an offline device it generates bunch amount of public address if that is what you like.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Which one is the best offline Paper wallet ? on: February 10, 2024, 02:28:56 PM
Now I get it so you are looking for an alternative tool where you can generate a vanity address the old vanitygen only supports legacy addresses but there is another tool that works the same as vanitygen that supports bech32 addresses and can be run with GPUs to speed up the process the tool called VanitySearch check the link below.

454  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Phase sequence wiring on S19 Hydro on: February 10, 2024, 02:07:38 PM
You already have a thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5484547.0 you should check my suggestion first in your thread.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Which one is the best offline Paper wallet ? on: February 10, 2024, 01:58:27 PM
Electrum does not generate offline custom build cold address. It generate only Legacy but like Paper wallet.
I don't understand what you said above you want to generate a public key from an offline Bitcoin Public Key Generator.
I think you don't exactly understand how BTC address and private key works?

About Electrum what step did you do why it only generate a legacy wallet?
If you are using the latest version of Electrum it should generate a segwit address and then you can later able to export the private key by going to menu> wallet> private keys> export to backup all segwit addresses in csv or json format you can print it if you want just make sure all these processes are offline.
456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-Qt maxconnections ignored on: February 09, 2024, 08:37:32 PM
yes i've shutdown and restarted  but it is still ignoring the max setting.

and i just dont want over a 100 people accessing my network.

I don't know how this thing works but if you don't want more people to connect to your node then try to play the value of maxconnection I suggest 12 or lower and let's see for the changes on the inbound peers.

Also, play with the maxuploadtarget= according to the link I posted above.

Or try this tool https://jlopp.github.io/bitcoin-core-config-generator/ you can copy their predefined config and paste it into your bitcoin.conf file you can choose between low bandwidth or privacy under a predefined config let see any changes in your inbound and outbound peers.
457  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC or Love on Valentine's day. What's your pick? on: February 09, 2024, 06:13:48 PM
Why choose? Bitcoin is always there and Valentine's Day is once a year so why would you compare them?

Another thing is even if you are on vacation anywhere you have a phone you can install an exchange app to monitor Bitcoin and take action while you are on vacation.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Custom firmware for antiminer D9? Any recommendation? on: February 09, 2024, 06:08:35 PM
Wrong section this should be posted on the altcoin mining section.

Anyway, I can't seem to find any custom or modded firmware for this unit Hiveos, brains, vnish and awesomeminer do not support this unit.
If you find firmware from another source online possible it has hidden fees or malware so better stay away from them.
459  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Download Bitcoin core with 60GB storage on: February 09, 2024, 05:58:44 PM
Just adding this you can also edit the bitcoin.conf file or add a bitcoin.conf file into Bitcoin folder if you are using Windows you can usually find it under this directory path below

Code:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin

Edit the bitcoin.conf file and put this inside prune=550 it is MB size you can edit it to higher depending on how much available space is in your HDD/SSD then save restart the bitcoin core and it should sync and download the latest blockchain within this limit.
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Using the data from my Windows node on Ubuntu on: February 09, 2024, 05:44:38 PM

Well I'll be trying tonight, so I'll keep you updated on how I progress 👍

It should work just fine but don't forget to copy the chainstate folder if you don't want to be stuck in the loading process or else you might end up needing to run Bitcoin Core with -reindex or -reindex-chainstate.
