1381  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum air gapped device on: May 16, 2023, 08:14:55 PM
Can a well set up electrum wallet on an air gapped device be considered to be as secured as a hardware wallet?

Yes, like the above said creating an Electrum wallet offline should be considered secured but even if it's an offline since you want to use it as an airgap wallet a normal OS like Windows is still vulnerable to any attack via USB transfer(like flash drive transferring signed and unsigned psbt file that includes virus/malware from the online device).

So if you want a secure way then installing tails OS and install Electrum should be the best option to protect your wallet. You can check the guide below on how to install Tails and Electrum.

1382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0 transaction block on: May 16, 2023, 06:27:22 PM
I think this block with zero transactions they called it empty block.

I think maybe there were no pending transactions from the network or all pending transactions already taken by other pools which is why Antpool decided to solve the block without adding transactions(or to wait for other pending transactions) to quickly contribute to the blockchain's consensus.

I do not have much idea how does it work honestly but check this thread below

- Why not to mine on pools mining empty blocks, and why do pools mine empty blocks
1383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction stuck from bitcoin wallet app because 2 low fee. Help on: May 16, 2023, 05:43:20 PM
But i use Bitcoin wallet app.  As wallet.  (bitcoin . org)

I used economy so it is a terrible low fee, didnt know that.

Two wallets that I know from bitcoin.org have economic fee options Mycelium and Schildbach Bitcoin wallet.

Mycelium has RBF I guess so the wallet app you talking about is the Schildbach wallet.

So I think you sent BTC from your wallet to a website to pay for something(services or products)?
And then their payment gateway/page has expiration am I right?

If I'm right then you won't be able to make a CPFP because only the receiver can do that.

Do you mind telling us what website you sent the BTC to? You may need to contact the owner because they are the only ones who can do CPFP. So try to contact them and just tell them your current transaction issue and talk about for extra fee later if they ask.
1384  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Whatsminer firmware on: May 16, 2023, 03:53:00 AM
I never heard that there is custom firmware for any whatsminer units even Braiins, awesomeminer, and Hiveon OS do not support it.

Where did you find that there is a custom firmware for whatsminer?
I'm sure that's a scam or infected with a virus if it was from an unknown source.
1385  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you interpret low trading volumes that we see lately? on: May 15, 2023, 06:02:16 PM
No one knows why trading volume is pretty low but I think it's because no news could influence traders to buy or sell and I don't see any events that could impact the trading volume.

Or maybe it's due to recent events mothers Day and pizza day.
1386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can someone stole your money with seed phase? on: May 15, 2023, 02:13:45 PM
Will the person be able to withdraw your money or change password and block you from having access to your wallet?

A bit of correction if your seed is already compromised and someone has access to your seed he can able to withdraw or transfer BTC to another wallet but by changing the password and blocking you then no they can't do that unless they have remote access to your PC but even they can do that anytime you can recover it by using your seed backup.
1387  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Am I right about this or not on: May 15, 2023, 02:04:53 PM
There are so many similar topics that discuss this sample this one How will Bitcoin survive after all 21M coins have been mined?
Or this one 21.000.000 Bitcoin!

It would be better to read each post from these threads so that other questions in your mind are also answered

Miners are one of the Bitcoin transaction life cycles including nodes without them Bitcoin transactions will never be confirmed.
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Corrupted wallet.dat on: May 15, 2023, 01:23:17 PM
What tool did you use when recovering deleted files?
Maybe the files you just recently recovered is not actually the wallet.dat file.

About pywallet you can use --recover to recover your wallet.dat from the hard drive.

There is already a guide here how to do it check this link below.

Or try the command posted here below

1389  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BINANCE APP Reinstall warning on: May 14, 2023, 06:52:24 PM
That's pretty obvious as you can see the app link they provided is far from the source and another thing that you can notice is they made it Chinese to make it look legit but it's not.

I never receive that email from Binance even on their announcement and notifications no news about the malware Binance app and the email download@binance.com is not exist but the extension @binance.com is legit I think they just use it to make it look legit.
To make sure that it was from Binance check this

It seems img does not work anymore I tried talkimg but uploading always error failed. now it works.

If the extension domain is different then it wasn't from Binance.com.
1390  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S19JPro Faulty Server Hashbord issue when startup on: May 14, 2023, 02:10:10 PM
Chain 1 or middle board only found 124 ASIC since Bitmain firmware have resitriction about faulty ASIC it will turn off and let two hashboard run normally.

Try to flash it first with stock firmware sometimes it can solve this problem but if not replacement is the beat solution.

I think you can run it with Braiins and let braiins to auto tune your unit to let the middle hashboard to mine even it has 2 bad ASIC. Only if the reseller didn't replace your unit.
1391  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: A bug on Android Electrum 4.4.3 on: May 13, 2023, 06:19:12 PM
I tried to create a new wallet but in my case, it's working fine for me I don't know how did you type your seed but all I did is manually type them and I do not use the suggested words on the top when typing the seed phrases and after that the gray-out finish button now able to click.

You need to try again if it has extra space the finish button is grayed out.
1392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The cost of maintaining wallet on: May 13, 2023, 05:58:00 PM
What do you mean by the maintenance of the seed and password?
It doesn't need maintenance what you need to do about the seed, wallet, and password is to save them to a safe place like for example writing them down on a piece of paper hiding them in your book or vault and you should the only one who knows where you hide it.

And it's not safe to send seed phrases and private keys through email you already break one of the basic ways to protect your backup seed and private keys. Email is always connected online and it can be hacked. So that is not a good practice compared to writing them into a piece of paper.
1393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: USDT sent to inactivated address! on: May 13, 2023, 04:19:57 PM
What wallet exactly you are using?
If the wallet you talking about is from exchange like Binance then all deposit BTC/altcoin is automatically transfer to other addresses that they own that's normal but your balance in your exchange account still there.

Better add more details about your wallet and transaction so that we know what exactly happen to your funds.
1394  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Is it possible to recover satoshis from a 10 plus year old account on CGMINER? on: May 13, 2023, 04:13:38 PM
Do you still remember on what pool do you mine on that time?
Or if you are using a pool that directly send your mine coins to your BTC wallet then you must find the wallet and focus on that thing because cgminer is just a software for mining it doesn't contain any coins.

Try to look for Electrum or Bitcoin-qt you can use everything search tool or your laptop/pc built-in search to find these wallets.
1395  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 - Fully functional yet no hash-rate on: May 13, 2023, 03:19:48 PM
Based in your image it looks fine have you tried to mine on other pool to test?
It seems you are using miningrig rentals I would like you to try to mine on Viabtc pool to test or https://solo.ckpool.org/

Let's see if it would mine then update here.
1396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to Extract a Private key from Seed words ? on: May 11, 2023, 05:06:28 AM
What is the exact name of your old wallet?

If the seeds are BIP39 there is a tool that you can use to extract all private keys from your seeds check the link below.

It's simple to use just download the page first or download it on GitHub and then run it offline and then paste the 24 seed phrase into that tool then scroll down to the bottom to find all derived addresses and keys you can copy them or download it into CSV use the toggle button if you want to copy only private keys.

The only problem when importing them into Bitcoin core there is no command where you can import them in bulk you will need to import them one by one using this command importprivkey

I heard there is a script to import the private keys in bulk but I can't find them maybe someone here still have this mass or bulk import tool.

Edit: it seems that I found the script here check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5358855.msg57937910#msg57937910
1397  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: transform a seed in wallet.dat file on: May 11, 2023, 02:27:55 AM
There is no tool to convert seed into a wallet.dat file maybe someone knows but there's another way to do that by using the iancoleman tool you can extract all private keys and import it all to wallet.dat in your Bitcoin core.

Check this tool https://iancoleman.io/bip39/

Make sure to download this source and run it offline for safety purposes.
1398  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: portable and trackless version of the electrum AppImage on: May 10, 2023, 05:31:19 PM
HI
Ok thanks I find this method interesting and original, but I have an error message
Code:
python3 Electrum-4.4.2/run_electrum
Error: Failed to load libsecp256k1.
  0.48 | E | ecc_fast | libsecp256k1 library failed to load

Have you installed the dependencies first as it's a first step from Electrum?

Code:
sudo apt-get install python3-pyqt5 libsecp256k1-dev python3-cryptography

If you did but this error still comes up then try to install libsecp256k1 manually with this alternative here below

About your 2nd question, no one has done it yet here because you can run Electrum without extracting it or making a portable one.
But if you still insist why not bring your question to their GitHub page here below they might be able to help you.

1399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are the archives of the original bitcoin-list@sourceforge.net? on: May 10, 2023, 03:17:31 PM
The link above does not work and it gives me a warning it's not safe to share that link if the browser warns that it's not safe to access.

@OP I think you might be looking to this below archive.org still have them

1400  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: portable and trackless version of the electrum AppImage on: May 10, 2023, 01:45:03 PM
If you just want to run the Electrum appimage without installing it then the guide is already on electrum.org under Linux.

Here's what I mean

Code:
Run without installing:
tar -xvf Electrum-4.4.2.tar.gz
python3 Electrum-4.4.2/run_electrum

So you don't need to extract them just install the Python dependencies so that the command above will work. Check the Linux guide here https://electrum.org/#download
