1401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is buying merit parmited on: May 10, 2023, 01:24:42 PM
Not good to buy merit because if you receive merit from users with a bad reputation you might also get red-tagged by DTs so it would be better to earn them organically.
It's not hard to earn them just contribute to the forum and make sure you are helping and soon some of your posts will be merited if they found your post useful and helpful.

If you don't know how to start there are some guides here already posted on the forum check this old thread below it is still useful to learn how to earn merit.

1402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coin Stats Alerts on: May 09, 2023, 11:43:28 PM
I have the same issue but not only on CoinStats but also on other apps but I solve the issue by turning off the power saving mode and manually turning off the unused apps in sleep mode or deep sleep. Or you can just remove the CoinStat app from sleep mode so that it will run in the background without pushing your app to sleep when not in use.
1403  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Option to turn off RBF gone on: May 09, 2023, 11:34:16 PM
It is better to use a wallet that does not support RBF, downloading old versions is not always the best solution.

There is no problem using older versions than 4.4.0 I still using them the latest version only has new features added.

The only problem is if he already installed it the wallet encryption is already upgraded and can't able to load it on an older version the only way to restore it is to import it again with seed backup.

How about using coinb.in to make transactions and disable the RBF flag on the advance option to generate unsign hex transaction and sign and broadcast it to Electrum?
1404  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BRC-20 needs to be removed on: May 09, 2023, 10:50:03 PM
What I think is that there is no going back. Taproot has already been created that Ordinals used to create what is happening now. It is better for bitcoin developers to look for more ways to reduce transaction fees.

The transaction fee is still far from what happened last April 2021 where the transaction fees are very expensive compared to today but the average transaction per day today is too high compared to April 2021.

So the network is too busy due to lots of transactions being created these days.

And the good thing is it may attract new investors to buy more miners. Meaning if more miner participants are joining they can find and solve more blocks that will help to speed up confirmation process. However, the network or overall hashrate is pretty stable I don't see yet big companies joining to participate in mining.
That's the only solution that I thing would help to clear out pending transaction and reduce the TX fee.
1405  Economy / Economics / Re: Deposits-in the bank or in gold? on: May 09, 2023, 12:47:42 PM
I don't know what you mean by "How is gold bought in the bank" I think banks do not have precious metals like gold you can buy gold in any jewelry shop without approval from banks.

The good thing about investing in Gold the price is pretty stable and you can hold it for a long-term investment compared to investing your money in the banks with only a small P.A interest.
However, both of them are good investments because both of them will give you profit but Gold always depends on the market value it may drop or increase in value compared to banks where you can surely make a profit from the interest.
1406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet should be used to keep bitcoin safe? on: May 09, 2023, 11:27:21 AM
In addition to the posts above, even if you have a secured wallet without basic knowledge of how to protect your device from attacks, your Bitcoin is still unsafe to store in your mobile wallet.

I don't know what exactly your phone unit model but there are some mobile phones that have a security feature where you can store your wallet securely and safely like Samsung where they have a hidden folder protected by Knox. All my crypto wallets are installed on that Knox-secured folder copy pasting does not work on cross-profile(Or copying data from the secured folder to your personal folder but it works on vice versa) which is safe if you are doing some activity in your phone while your wallet is in a secured folder.

If your phone is not Samsung then I think installing a Kaspersky will help you protect your device from any viruses and malware attacks also it blocks some phishing sites but not all phishing based on my experienced so you still need to learn how to avoid those phishing sites.
1407  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Got a new PC, how to set up a new Electrum wallet on it? on: May 08, 2023, 06:34:09 PM

Many thanks. But I searched and I could not find one which specifically showed how you solve the problem of already having an Electrum wallet in an old PC and wanting to make sure your coins are only on your new PC and not accessibly anymore on the old PC.

Use the magnifying glass you can find it on the left side of the search box above because the search box above is limited compared to Google search.

If you install Electrum and created a new wallet on this new PC it shouldn't be accessible from your old PC unless you restore your old wallet to your new PC.
1408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear Market Reaches $27605 - Will the Downtrend Continue?" on: May 08, 2023, 06:20:24 PM
Actually, no one knows and I don't think it's a bear market if you look at the 3-month chart the price is still at a higher price compared to February and March.

And look at the weekly chart as you can see the price is pretty stable at 27k to 29k I don't think if the price will drop below 27k because that is a resistant level or if it drops to 26k I believe it will pump again soon at 27k. That's just my own prediction because I already made a couple of bucks from ups and down these past few weeks.
1409  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Got a new PC, how to set up a new Electrum wallet on it? on: May 08, 2023, 05:53:03 PM
I hope next time learn how to use the search button before you create a topic like this because there many similar topics that already posted few days ago.

There are many guides out there but you need to make sure always verify the Electrum before you install.

Check this guide https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5240594.0
1410  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance announced LN integration on: May 08, 2023, 03:25:18 PM
The fee was adjusted from 0.0002 BTC to 0.001 BTC. That means the increase is  5 time higher than before. You can see Stompix explanation about how Binance still make money because they send to many addresses at a time, but Binance has to consolidate inputs too though.

That is a pretty high fee it's around $30 they are making profits on transaction fees even though they own a mining pool they do still ask for high fees which are unfair. It is more likely they forcing people to use other networks including their own network to keep them active and currently, there is no lightning yet under the network option when withdrawing BTC. Meaning it is not yet enabled I can only see 3 options Bitcoin, BEP20, and ERC20.
1411  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New to Bitcointalk and have questions about a future service on: May 08, 2023, 01:46:24 PM
Are you  sure about the bolded part, about not being allowed to sell illegal IPTV here? I am asking because there are several IPTV sellers on the forum that are selling very cheap packages (15k + channels for ~$6 per month, meaning illegal IPTV) for years now without any issues whatsoever.

Well based on our forum rules it depends in your or buyers country.
I'm pointing to this rule 17
17. Trading of goods that are illegal in the seller's or buyer's country is forbidden. [2]

And most IPTV sellers out there they get those sources for free but they sell them without permission and it will result in DMCA complaints due to copyright violations. Since these sellers do not have proper license and permission while providing this service it's illegal and punishable by law.

It is just likely the same as plagiarism content that you don't own and you post it here without permission or credit to the owner it will result in ban evasion.
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ibelink firmware - how to tune BM-K1+? on: May 07, 2023, 01:30:57 PM
Never heard of this miner before I tried to search a bit but it seems it's not a Bitcoin miner based on my research it's a KDA miner or Kadena miner.
You won't get any answer here because this section is Bitcoin miner-related not for altcoin.
If you want to get some answer why not bring this to Mining (Altcoins)

Anyway, about your question I don't think there is an easy way but the way you configure it I think that's the only way to improve the hash rate of your miner also check the PLL and try to play that thing from 700 to increase it until 750 or 800 PLL but monitor the miner if the temp is an increase use the warning param to avoid overheating.
1413  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New to Bitcointalk and have questions about a future service on: May 07, 2023, 12:54:42 PM
Make sure it's not illegal because there are lots of guides out there for free to set up Kodi or other apps with IPTV features.
If your service is copy pasted from other forums or owned by other people who strictly not selling it but giving it for free then that's illegal you shouldn't sell it if it's not from your server or owns the program.
And another important thing in the IPTV business is if you already get the necessary licenses and permissions to avoid any copyright infringement claims. I hope you have that thing in your service because if not then you are selling illegal IPTV service which is not allowed here.
1414  Other / Archival / Re: Help Us Find a New Name for Our Project! on: May 07, 2023, 12:05:12 PM
Why not use some tools like business name ideas or business name generators to find a good name for your project?

Check this one https://businessnamegenerator.com/
if you are looking for a better tool I'm sure the namelix AI would be the best option check this link https://namelix.com/

Actually, Shopify also have a tool https://www.shopify.com/tools/business-name-generator

1415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin from 2009 on: May 06, 2023, 05:25:18 PM
Are you talking about this old forum
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5.0
I do not know if there is someone selling Bitcoin on that time since you can easily earn those Bitcoin by running a full node and mine it with your PC.
1416  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinbase Wallet (Android) Authentication Failed on: May 06, 2023, 05:07:40 PM
Have you ever tried to contact Coinbase support? They can maybe give you some suggestions.
Another thing is Coinbase announced that old Coinbase users that are not active have limited access to send funds only. It should not affect your friends self custody wallet but would you mind trying to use a VPN there might be something blocking your friend's wallet if it didn't work then check the settings of the phone or some apps and maybe one of the apps or settings(permission) is preventing Coinbase wallet to authenticate.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: High Fee on: May 06, 2023, 01:41:56 PM
Your fee is in low priority according to mempool.space but it should be confirmed within 45 minutes.
If the accelerator didn't help and if it still stuck after a few hours there is no other way to speed up the transaction because it is not RBF enabled like the above said.

However, if you receive it in your wallet that you control you can do CPFP(Child Pays For Parent) to speed up the transaction. The only problem is you will pay more fees than your previous transaction 61sat/vbyte if you want to speed up this transaction.

Can you tell us what wallet you currently using? Some wallets out there do not have RBF option so I suggest switch to a better wallet like Electrum.
1418  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: stuck on: May 06, 2023, 12:22:35 PM
i used the same password on another site but the site owner is not responding and im afraid of if doing anything stupid he might change my password.

What site exactly you are pointing to?

About your email if you don't have control of the phone number that you added to your Gmail before then how about the phone where your Gmail was login?

When recovering a Gmail on the "Google Recovery email" page there are many options to access Gmail if you don't have the number or other email connected to your Gmail there is another option "Try another way" where Gmail will ask I think to grant access your Gmail without the password.

Sample this mine I tried to recover or log in without the password using the "Try another way" it asks to my phone if I will grant access to this new device.

Just go to your phone and type that code.

If it didn't work and If you still using the phone where you log in to this Gmail and it is logout now try to recover it using that phone sometimes it works.
1419  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: crypto stuck on gmail on: May 05, 2023, 10:29:48 PM
Already tried the online form 100s of times but is there any real help I can get from google without sending upfront payments to random scammers.

Why use random people to recover your Gmail they won't be able to do anything about recovering your account. Only ask Google about recovering your account and maybe they will also ask for KYC this is just based on my old experience they ask for KYC to recover my account but I just ignore it until my Gmail account got deleted by Google.

Another thing is have you tried to recover it through your mobile number?
1420  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A nob in trading needs help on: May 05, 2023, 04:18:50 PM
There is no passive income in trading there is always a risk in trading with Bitcoin due to its price volatility. And without trading skills, you won't be able to make any profit.

If you want to learn about trading there are lots of source to learn you can check this link below.

DCA strategy is also works as suggested above but you must learn first how to find the resistant level so that you know when to buy.
