1201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old S9i - want to change to doge mining : HOW ? on: July 07, 2023, 02:55:10 PM
Typical , the jumpers are "just" out of reach im going to have to dismantle
the unit to access , likely need to wait to next week.

Is there any firmware i can put on an SD card that will start the unit from the card
without having to fully reflash at this stage ?

That's the reason why it can't flash through the SD card you just forgot to move the jumper.

About the firmware that you can boot through an SD card without flashing the control board, Bitmain doesn't have a firmware like that but BraiinsOS have a firmware that you can boot without flashing the control board.

However, you still need to move the jumper to boot through the SD card.
1202  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance existing Deposit Addresses to Be Retired in Q3 (July - September 2023) on: July 06, 2023, 04:51:39 PM
Now BTC is included on their list and many networks added to the list unlike in the past announcement.

Binance has been on wallet upgrade for a while now and this is all aimed at efficiency and more control to come along with it now that binance has faced SEC and some amendment needs to be done to the existing protocol if it either failed to meet security standard or being an outdated wallet that its operation and existence is no longer need.

I don't think it is due to SEC they usually upgrade wallets to make sure their customer's wallets are secured and safe and I think they replace deposit addresses to get less exposure.
1203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A little questioning on the lightning network co-operation. on: July 06, 2023, 12:31:54 AM
Why not follow the guide from the blue wallet they do have some guides on how to use it.
Creating a lightning wallet on blue wallet is easy check the guide from this link below

Or watch this video https://youtu.be/Cfc3JGb3a4g?t=506

About separate blockchain no all lightning transaction happens off-chain outside the blockchain network, unlike on-chain transaction.

And take note lightning network doesn't need miners to confirm a transaction all transactions made with lightning are almost instant, unlike an on-chain network that requires confirmation.

Regarding to your 3rd question the value of BTC doesn't matter whether on-chain or off-chain network. Your BTC in your lightning wallet should be worth the same as what the current BTC value from the market.

To learn more about lightning I suggest read this The Lightning Network Faqs
1204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old S9i - want to change to doge mining : HOW ? on: July 05, 2023, 11:39:34 PM
Hey thanks for reply !

ok thats clear , no doge mining :-)

I fully understand its a lottery at the TH levels im pushing , electricity is mainly
free off solar.

I have tried antminer official software and braiins install , both have failed to take
i think i have bricked it , not sure how to move forward

Without your miner's kernel logs, we do not know what exactly happening with your miner.

I suggest flash it back to stock firmware and then run it for a while then go copy all kernel logs and paste them here just put it inside the insert code tag.

Also, make a screenshot of your miner status and upload it to imgbb, and paste the URL.
1205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: wallet.dat corrupted or encrypted help!!! on: July 05, 2023, 02:55:30 PM
What error did you get from Bitcoin Core when importing?

Weird the hex code from the wallet.dat shows "2020" Maybe the wallet file is encrypted that WinHex can't read.

Maybe the wallet.dat file you have is not generated from Bitcoin core it might an altcoin.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old S9i - want to change to doge mining : HOW ? on: July 05, 2023, 02:46:03 PM
sooooo....
Old S9i - want to change to doge mining : HOW

No there is no way to mine Doge using Antminer s9i because this miner uses SHA256 algo and mining Dogecoin uses Scrypt algo which is too different you can't convert the firmware to mine Dogecoin ASIC manufacturers produce miners only for specific algo.
1207  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Does Electrum support any other currency apart from btc? on: July 05, 2023, 12:03:39 PM
In addition to the above posts, there is another currency that supports Electrum(Not the fork of Electrum.)
It also supports tBTC when you enable testnet on Electrum but this coin has no value it usually use only for testing and development.
If you want to test something want to learn how to use it you can get free tBTC from this testnet faucet list.
1208  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKX frozen my account and required me to KYC with a less than $1,000 deposit on: July 05, 2023, 09:08:49 AM
UK. But it seems that what happened is not local, but for all accounts.

That's what I think is the reason why your account froze and ended up forcing you to verify KYC your country is one of the restricted/prohibited locations according to their terms. They don't even have an announcement or inform their customers that they are going to update their terms.

There are no traps there.

If this is not a trap why all posts similar to this issue are hidden and you can't see some posts of other customers from their Twitter you can only see them once you log in (Meaning it's not public).
And they don't announce publicly or notify their customers through PM about the changes in KYC requirements and TOS.
1209  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKX frozen my account and required me to KYC with a less than $1,000 deposit on: July 05, 2023, 08:21:38 AM
What are the deposit or withdrawal limits during the last 6 months or a year, was it more than $1,000 or less? Huh Huh
Is the deposit limit reduced from $1,000 to $990?

What country you are living? It seems they don't offer service in the US due to local law according to OKX support post below

If you are not living in the US check the other restricted/prohibted country listed below

2.2 Note that we may not make all of the Services available in all markets and jurisdictions, and may restrict or prohibit use of all or a portion of the Services from Restricted Locations, which at this time include Hong Kong (specifically regarding our derivatives-related Services), Belgium, Cuba, Iran, Japan, North Korea, Crimea, Malaysia, Singapore, Syria, United States of America including all U.S.A. territories like Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Island, and the US Virgin Islands (St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas), the Bahamas, Canada, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom (specifically regarding our derivatives-related Services for retail users), Bangladesh, Bolivia, Donetsk, Luhansk and Malta.
1210  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKX frozen my account and required me to KYC with a less than $1,000 deposit on: July 05, 2023, 08:07:16 AM
Are you Basic level 1 verified?
It looks like a trap to those who do not want KYC and I think even you submit your documents to them they will still froze your account just like what happen to this man below.

They also updated KYC requirements according to previous post here below

1211  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Receiving and sending lightning payments from the command line on: July 04, 2023, 07:54:45 PM
I tried to read the command.py on Github and yeah lnpay is the only closes command that works like payto command in on-chain.

Have you recently tried that command?
If you get some error and use the same format you provided above as sample would you mind to change the amount in sats? I just got the idea from command.py.

Code:
electrum lnpay lnurl1dp68gurn8ghj7cn5vdcxz7fwvfkxge3w0puh5t6z23pj742ff38925jv9acxz7f0dyhnymmwv e6kx5zg2e4nsurft958xnzpxanhzag3qne3r 9300
1212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please Help! New Bitcoin Core node user - Getting fatal error when restarting on: July 04, 2023, 05:56:12 PM
another fatal error popped up after maybe 8 hrs or so.... in the bug log it said something about the error possibly being the reason of an "I/O" and there wasn't anything else. Bitcoin Core terminated itself after I clicked ok to the fatal error message.

That's a sign of corruption the external 1TB HDD is very problematic I have had external before where most of the files and software do not work after accidentally disconnecting it from the PC without removing it on "Safely remove hardware" even though I changed the "remove policy" to "Quick removal/better performance" it doesn't help. That is why I switch to HDD(Internal) and directly installed it as another drive on my PC it is way more better than using the HDD as an external drive. So it should fix your issue after adding this new drive(SSD) there is also big impact on the speed of your PC and syncing process if you use SSD.
1213  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: kycnot.me bitcointalk version on: July 04, 2023, 04:09:42 PM
Since kycnot does not have an alternative yet you can build the same site so that users have the option to find other non-kyc exchange that is not listed on kycnot.me.
And I suggest add a page where we can send a request to list or delist an exchange(should be way easier than kycnot).

If you find something that needs updated, want to suggest a new listing or delisting, etc., then instructions on how to do so are here: https://codeberg.org/pluja/kycnot.me

The link for generating a JSON code for listing does not work the same as the "services" link.
Their new links that work is already on their about page which is these "Exchange form" and "Services form generator"
The generated form should be sent to request@kycnot.me
1214  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Butcoin locking on: July 04, 2023, 09:42:25 AM
is it OK to use the coinbin online?

That's a pretty bad idea you might expose some sensitive data while using the tool online.
Download the page or download it directly to their GitHub as suggested above and run it offline.

And about the time locked address provided by hosseinimr93 that's not the only way to lock a transaction using Coinb.in tool, you can also go directly to the transaction page and create an unsigned transaction with lock time enabled(you can find it on the advance option) since you mention you don't want someone to double spend the transaction disable the RBF option while creating lock transaction.

If you are looking for a guide you can read this "Two Ways to Use Time Lock features on Coinb.in"
1215  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Has A Lower Value In Binance on: July 04, 2023, 08:39:36 AM
This is not a bug nor glitch in their app according to the news below "The impact of enforcement action against Binance.US is affecting the prices of cryptocurrencies on its exchange"
And according to the news, it's a crypto discount it is ranging from 2% to 5% discount.

That is why you see different prices on the BTC/Fiat compared to Binance.com and according to the news, not only BTC is affected by this also other Crypto/Fiat pairs like ETH.

1216  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Recovering private keys from 2009-2010 on: July 03, 2023, 11:34:57 PM
Is there a chance that you can guide me step by step?

There is a tool that can recover wallet files even if it was deleted but I do not know if this tool can recover the old wallet version since you said it's a 2009/2010 wallet.

The tool called PyWallet is used to recover wallets there is a guide posted on this forum on how to use it you can check this guide "[GUIDE] Recover your deleted keys"
1217  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S19J Pro+ 120TH abnormal in Low Power Mode on: July 03, 2023, 04:02:57 PM
Check the ASIC status? There might be some missing ASIC chips that leads to abnormal status.

If you want a better troubleshooting I suggest share your kernel logs here and maybe we can find some issue under that logs.

Don't forget to put all logs with insert code tag.
1218  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKX enforcing KYC. on: July 03, 2023, 01:21:48 PM
I'm not KYC verified I haven't receive anything from okx my guess you've reach the maximum limit. The maximum limit from the link provided above is $5000 but it looks like their maximum limit for non- KYC is $2500?

Here's what I got

For identity verification level 1, these limits are $500 per account for deposits and $2,500 per account for withdrawals until you complete level 2 verification. Only after completing it, you'll get higher limits.
1219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The exit plan on: July 02, 2023, 11:36:10 PM
The exit plan is when you already made a profit if you force yourself to maximize the profit that is greed that can turn your profit into a negative.
Better learn both technical and fundamental analysis it will help you to predict when to buy and exit and take note DCA also works when there is huge bad news like what happens to two exchanges about sec and exit when the price touch to $31k you can notice this by reading the 14days chart.

If you want to learn about FA and TA check this source "Awesome Crypto Trading" You can also find most of the tools that you can use to analyze the market.
1220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which will be best non-KYC exchanger after Ku-coin? on: July 02, 2023, 10:47:16 PM
OKX is one of the alternative ones from the list provided above but if you are not KYC verified your account has limited features.

The only best exchange for me is the Coinex exchange because I have already experienced with them since 2020. The only problem is if you forgot your password and security question because they will force you to submit an ID and selfie. So make sure you save the security question on the piece of paper to avoid KYC.
