You can start by looking at the Mining hardware comparison (google it) as this'll give you a much better idea of how your hardware (CPU,GPUs,FPGAs,ASICs,other devices, etc) will perform instead of it being a suprise. What miner do you use? The mining hardware guide gives you an idea of what settings were used to achieve the performance the hardware did with those settings.Like setting clock speeds, memory speeds (best rule is overclock core clock, reduce memory clock),using additional flags to make your hardware perform better.

Any takers? As this is still running for the week.

I'm looking to auction off my signature space.I will take BTC or LTC from the highest bidder. Minimum bid is 0.20BTC or 40LTC. Content policy:no adult sites, gambling and everything else is ok. This auction will finish a week from now. The signature space you buy will replace one of my signatures. If you place a bid, theres no backing out later so honour your bid whenever possible. When the auction is over, the winning bidder should PM me so we can sort out the transaction with a BTC address and so you can give me the ad. I've said enough so enjoy your bidding.

this is a really good idea, and I could see mobile mining becoming popular especially if it uses the graphics hardware of the device
That would be good as long as I can tell it to be less aggressive in GPU use so I can still navigate around my phone. It's be even better if CPU and GPU can both be used as I'm determined to squeeze every drop of performance from all my devices (Nokia N900/router,etc as they're both run by ARM cpus and can be modified.) and computers (PC/MBP etc).

alright, here the results: newest ufasoft miner: 22.45 MHash/s newest pooler-cpuminer: 28.17 MHash/s alright, so ur the leading force now Those are pretty good results.I wish I got those on my (main) PC instead of only ~11Mhash/s on the Core i7 920 CPU.Where can I download the new Ufasoft miner? I prefer this as it's easier for me to setup. What CPU is that running on? and what overclock is used on that CPU?

How can I make sure it only mines LTC rather than any other currency in Reaper?
remove mine bitcoin mine solidcoin
in reaper.conf Thanks for that:) Now to figure out the rest.

I'm looking for some sort of guide as to how to setup the Reaper (GPU) miner on my main PC as it has a decent card I'd like to make use of.Is it possible for someone to make a config suitable for an HD6950 with unlocked shaders to make setup more painless so I can get past that compiling part when you first run it? How can I make sure it only mines LTC rather than any other currency in Reaper? Any help would be appreciated.

This is interesting as a concept and I hope it does well.So this is like: 1.Buying a 'virtual' mining rig which you then buy with BTC 2.Then buy virtual upgrades in hashpower to mine more coins. 3.You then exchange these coins for BTC/another currency. If I understand correctly and explain this in a simplified manner, the steps I wrote above shoul more or less reflect what you're doing in this 'game'.
There are pros I see in this: 1.You don't need physical space to store regular mining rigs that physically exist. 2.No need to use electricity at your end so no utility bills for mining. 3.No noise and heat as this is hosted elsewhere and virtualised. 4.No need to constantly tweak and struggle with miner settings as this is all standardised (from what I can see) when you buy an upgrade. 5.You can still make BTC/alt currency while doing this.
The only con I can see is that you need BTC initially to start off with but it's easy enough to acquire (buy at an exchange, mine them normally for we short while, offer services/products,etc) but that's kind of obvious since nothing is free without a catch.

It's not dead, Realsolid, ViperLemonBitch, Psytard and the rest of the Solidcoin losers are building up the premine for the CPF LOL...
So they're still building up that much disliked CPF then. And I was told that the CPF was abolished or was that trust nodes they abolished? Everything about that beta I recieved tells me that it's all online so that it can be accessed from any OS/anywhere.Still it'll need a place to store your Microcash which I suspect will be run by the creator of SC/MC.Can .exe files be opened up so I could see the code?

When this miner comes out,I'd like to test it on an android phone.

I'm interested to see that raffles are here on the BTC forums. It just goes to show that if you have an idea, you can make it work (after startup money for a business). It's also a good way to reach a wider audience.I also wish you good luck for the raffle/graduation.

I've now added Litecoin support for all games now so life should be easier for Litecoin users. This thread I posted shows how people are responding to this change: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=93170.0Winner selection system has now been tweaked to be even better.I've abolished the use of a general random number generator as this was the weak point in the hybrid blockchain winner selection system The new system makes use of 3 cryptographic methods: a.md5 b.SHA-1 (figured out how) c.Random no generator (only used to select a line-so if the winner has ticket no 5 with this SHA1 hash 93c59573a0463bdfb6f2399a1b67f9bf789e5869,the SHA1 hash still needs to be decoded first and can't be tampered with as changing 1 digit from what it should be would probably show an error or something making it very obvious that foul play was involved if the operator is unscrupulous/unreliable.)Plus a randomly used combo (which won't be mentioned any time during a draw to discourage prospective cheaters) will also help. Tester of how the blockchain would be used (Example): 0000000000000166c6987cfd687b0777bd6800a798db1f31b3cab74 528bacf43The coloured in bits will be what's used to determine the winner. There are 3 colours. The 1st and 3rd colour determine which ticket holder is the winner when used as a combination. The 2nd colour is simply a reference that I rely on as a unique signature for each round/game so that there can never be any confusion on my part when revealing who the winner is/as well as insurance against losing records on my computer in case it crashes or gets hacked into.A simple number wouldn't suffice as this number could repeat or be fudged (if the operator is unreliable/untrustworthy) so to help eliminate this risk, the 2nd coloured part is most likely to be a unique signature. This shows proof that every round was played, finished and above all not an annoying forgery.

Its very nice to see some sites starting to accept LTC. Big congrats for that Glad you like it.When the games are unveilled in less than 2 days time, please spread the word so that LTC can be taken more seriously as a currency like BTC is now.If someone can create a bit-pay equivalent for LTC,I can fully automate the entry system for LTC players. Little trivia:The Dream Islands games venture has multi currency support at the heart of the games and this will only get better with time and can help everyone by giving them all a method in which they can play and win money,no matter what currency they're playing with.

I was not aware that 1Gh/s was even possible on a 5970... That is just outrageous hashing power for an old card... Mine would only do about 700Mh/s a piece... Yeah that 1Gh/s is pretty damn impressive.I just wish I could buy an HD5970 easily in UK (it's out of stock everywhere in UK) and reach those clocks (although I should factor in the cost of watercooling that monster as well). Impressive.I wonder what the power use is and what your PSU is rated at? As you'd need a pretty strong PSU to run that and a watercooler plus the rest of the system.

I'm posting this because I'm pretty much looking forward to unveilling the new and improved games in less than 2 days now.I've added LTC support so people can now enter with Litecoins as well as BTC.Read more: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90059.0I figured that since LTC doesn't have as many places to gamble with as BTC does,I figured I'd do my bit to change that. Please give feedback and enjoy the games when they are unveilled. Just curious, how many places are there to gamble for, with LTC at the moment? I'll be adding a new feature where there'll be games that are either specific for LTC only or games that can be entered with BTC/LTC as things develop. The winner selction is based on the blockchain (it's a hybrid system but still a step in the right direction) now.

Yeah the IRC at btc-e was pretty busy on this topic.I do find it sort of amusing since most people don't really have much in the way of SC so whoever dumped all that SC must have been an investor looking for change (change of investment, not the obama 2008 election slogan lol).

Update on developments.I've finally found a satisfactory solution to my issue of LTC mining on my mac.I've managed to run the scrypt miner inside my VM using VMware Fusion 4.1 (I think) and it performs really well, much better than running on my mac natively.Funny that.I can get anywhere from 16kh/s to 27kh/s in scrypt (running in VMware) while being booted into SL (Snow Leopard) so I can do other stuff on my mac like film editing (though not at the same time). Scrypt miner runs happily and trouble free on my 2 computers and each give me around 20+Kh/s from their CPUs. Good luck for those of you who need an OSX LTC miner and don't have access to VMware Fusion (for mac).

You may have more luck with cheaper tickets.
The sweet spot seems to be 0.25 and lower, my 0.3 raffle is selling much slower than the last 2, despite a much better prize.
Yeah,I kinda see Luceo's point.Lower priced tickets will draw more people in.I once charged 0.05BTC for lottery tickets in my old lottery,Dream Islands lottery (now new and improved and known as Dream islands games, read my sig for more info)Bit Lotto is an example of a successful game where the tickets are priced at 0.25 BTC which shows that 0.25BTC or less is the sweet spot.Tip-working on your ad campaign can really do wonders.
