Cold from hell remnant
Still lives in my left nostril
A weird cold indeed

OT ha, I have something like this....running nose...in a couple of days it transitions to cough....then running nose again....then cough again..2wks already.
Did not check for COVID early enough, now negative...weird.
That 'cold' must have gotten 'something' from the other viruses.

Buuut..it does not matter, the mood is still good due to our favorite pumping higher.

Since yesterday I have similar symptoms. Suddenly I felt very dizzy and the temperature raised to 39. I started taking analgetic every 6 hours and applying nasal sprey. Do you know what is this - covid or other virus/bacterial infection? Sometimes I feel the urge to cough, and sometimes my nose gets a bit swollen. But so far nothing more, except I feel very bad with my whole body aching. Do I need to take antibiotics or to try walking it off.

No Antibiotics for viral infections!
It's useless and adds to AB resistance, just take antiviral stuff.
That is carrageen nasal spray, Lysine plus Vitamin-C, maybe also N-AcetylCholine for easing the breathing.

Avoid Antibiotics at all if you can. A high CT blood value (>0.5) would be a good reason for AB, but not much else.

I deleted my post, but decided to repost this "proper use of toilets" sign.

Here's my version, actually shot this in RL in a spa.

Fucking conspiracy theorists.

Some dude i came to slowly build personal relations with over a couple of years now, and this is a rare type of event in my life, actively texted me today about chemtrails.
I was like "R U SERIOUS?!". I had these visual, clear words in my mind: "the show must go on. Always...".
After re-texting a few dozen lines of debunkenings and solid reasonings against various absolutely insane sub-theories and statements, i came to a conclusion:

There goes a friendship candidate.

Years wasted.

Go to Start (as in "Monopoly", the game)

I mean, i wouldn't agree to ban Telegram, WhatsApp and the likes, but these message groups avalanche in mobile social media clearly goes over the top of most peoples heads.
Still i got no WhatsApp, i am not in a single messaging group in other messenger apps, of which i only use one .more or less regularly.

Or, it was just a publicity stunt, it's hard to say.

Easy to tell: A rise to $1m would be like from 3% to 100%, based on the price level when the bet was made. Think of it, at least 33-fold gain within 90 days.
This bet almost totally can't be serious. And that "almost" means there's a damn small probability that it is serious. Insanity might be a point, too.

... if you remind yourself how many people still believe in $$$ (fiat) for such a long time on this planet, the a$$hole-to-bitcoiner ratio turns out clearly in their favour "favour".
Opinions are not facts ...

465  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 14, 2023, 08:39:46 AM
When the price was stuck at $28k, I called out for it to go up!!! and some a$$hole said it's too good to be true.
Welcome $31k now Cheesy

Reminds me of my brother in law again, who said Bitcoin will never be sold above $10k ever again (when it was $6k after the 2017 blow-off). (EDIT: nah, i think it was higher, sub $9k-ish or so)
But, if you remind yourself how many people still believe in $$$ (fiat) for such a long time on this planet, the a$$hole-to-bitcoiner ratio turns out clearly in their favour "favour".
Opinions are not facts (My latest unconventional, personal saying of truth btw.)
It's also true for you, just to make it clear  Tongue
But that's just uhm... my opinion, you know...

Quote from: ChatGPT
Taproot is not a smart contract in the traditional sense, but it is an upgrade to Bitcoin's scripting language that can enable more advanced smart contract functionality. Taproot is a soft fork upgrade that was activated on the Bitcoin network in November 2021.

One of the main benefits of the Taproot upgrade is that it improves Bitcoin's privacy and security by allowing more complex transactions to be executed while appearing as a simple transaction on the blockchain. This is achieved through a technique called "Merkleized Abstract Syntax Trees" (MAST), which allows multiple possible spending conditions to be hidden within a single transaction, making it difficult for external parties to determine which conditions were actually used.

Taproot also enables the implementation of advanced multi-signature schemes, which can be used to enhance the security of Bitcoin transactions. With Taproot, multiple signatures can be aggregated into a single signature, reducing the amount of data needed to be stored on the blockchain. This reduces transaction fees and allows for more efficient use of Bitcoin's limited block space.

In terms of its relationship to SegWit, Segregated Witness (SegWit) was a previous soft fork upgrade that was activated on the Bitcoin network in August 2017. SegWit separated the transaction signature data from the transaction data, which allowed for more transactions to be included in each block. Taproot builds upon SegWit by further optimizing the way transactions are structured and by enabling more advanced smart contract functionality.

In summary, Taproot is an upgrade to Bitcoin's scripting language that enhances privacy, security, and scalability while enabling more advanced smart contract functionality. It builds upon the benefits of SegWit by further optimizing transaction structure and enabling more complex spending conditions to be hidden within a single transaction.

I like the thought of ChatGPT registering an account on bitcointalk and occasionally taking part in our lil WO discussions, lately.

Some days I wake up and think "Huh... I wonder how mindrust is doing since he panic sold his bags at the bottom? I wonder what the fiat value would be worth today if he held..."

Today is one of those days.
today's value about 300k.
he said he got out almost break even. became a shitcoin advocate after that... probably still is

If you are not willing to take paper losses in your first cycle, Bitcoin is not for you I guess

Well, of course none of us can completely speak for mindrust, and he did stick to his word (so far) in terms of not coming back to the WO thread anymore... but sure of course, he is still active on the forum, but he is largely attempting to "do his own thing," and sure maybe part of his problem was that he was overly sharing some of his details... and yeah, sometimes any of us could get overly emotional in regards to our stash of lillie precious and end up "overly sharing" details.

I am pretty sure that for mindrust, it was a bit more than a whole cycle.. and sure maybe he was trying to rush matters, because he said that he was quite sure that he made too many mistakes in the 2014 to 2017 timeframe because he got too much caught up into a variety of shitcoins and he lost quite a bit of money by playing that game, and you can see that he had a registration date in 2013, so there is some credibility to his claims of having had fucked up and had not hardly made any money, and so in some sense, it would have been his second cycle that was for him to be trying to make up for his mistakes of his first cycle.. so part of the problem in terms of trying to make up for mistakes, but not necessarily realizing the mistake may well have been his inclinations to gamble, so he ends up way overly investing into bitcoin in the second cycle, in such a way that he thought that he was going to be fucked if the BTC price kept dropping below $4,500-ish around the price that he sold all of his BTC stash, which was 10 BTC at that time (based on his then representations).

Many of us likely realize that it can be difficult to see our mistake when we are in the midst of it... and even if we can see the mistake we still can have real strong obstacles keeping us from sufficiently snapping out of our posture.. or some play that we made that was not necessarily a good idea (which  was selling them all at $4,500-ish).

More than three years later, and he is still having difficulties facing the issue with us... and maybe he just sees the world differently.. or maybe he just does not want to confront that part of his history - which does seem to be problematic, especially since he had already been pretty extremely public about it.. but I suppose if he does not attempt to address it then then he feels some value in "not going there" and considering "going there" to be a waste of his time.

No matter what, if mindrust would have had a straight eye at the facts, history, developments and user base or current state of adoption of Bitcoin, he would have had the strongest reason for NOT selling the bottom: Trust.
Some day he explained his nickname actually means "peace of mind", which is kind of contrary to his gambling move, when he actually lost the peace-of-mind, or i possibly didn't get the meaning of his explanation right.
He could handle the consequences by just admitting he had a wrong view at Bitcoin. He didn't learn that the value of BTC is actually (much) higher than the value of fiat money, and that - as most of us know by now - is an implicit fact. Some call it scarcity, i heard...
* OutOfMemory switching off irony-mode

So i think the main problem was not getting overinvested in Bitcoin (like i am, for example), but looking at it from the wrong perspective. Like a fast-forward-savings-account, or a loan with high rates, a mysterious money doubling machine, of the likes.
Whores get exploited, you know. Even if it was an awesome fuck, it left him feeling empty.

It's our fault for wanting to talk about the realities of life and the realities of dealing with extreme volatility and even like battles going on out there...  ... and his case (circumstances) was (were) so text book perfect.. or nearly text book perfect..

Yeah. It's a thing of perspective. He became some kind of ... legend to the WO, but not exactly in the best of ways  Tongue
At least, he could also be proud not to be forgotten in these here parts. Like Roach (if still alive) among others, most of us know the (nick)names.

Otherwise, WO's are too hard boiled to throw Merits at effortless shitposts anyway.

Most are. But where there's scraps to be had, there's pigeons a-flocking.

I understand some new accounts sometimes have interesting things to say, but 90% of it is lazy and uncreative.
Case in point (post above).

It's even plagiarism, because there is no source link and i saw this meme more than too often here  Angry
AFAIR there's a plag thread somewhere on btctalk.

EDIT:
Hint: Users are temporarily blocked for plagiarism (AFAIR)

Time to change the name of this thread:

Merit Farmer Binance/Fiat -  Sucking merit source toes & twitterpasting

They should be happy I'm not the mod here. I would delete all "From Twitter" posts onsight.

There is information on twatter sometimes worth to be shared here, though.
But i can't say that i don't know what you mean, either.

This thread is a real cesspit since the most recent bull market ended. The post quality and general fun factor has taken a nose dive. Sad because this thread was once the real epicentre of the whole forum. We used to have so much fun, from depressing dumps to euphoric highs. We were all in it together, sharing the same emotions.

I think since we all made it, the enjoyment and willingness to post here so regularly dissipated. Shit posting, broken English merit farmers took over and this is what we now have. Hopefully the fun factor returns as we enter the next bull market. I’ll be here as always, even if not posting I am reading.

$30,000 ASAP, I hope.

Just a quick post after reading your opinion while taking a break:
Imo, Covid broke a lot of positivity and integrity, not only on this thread, and i too hope that the next bull market will (kind of) undo this.
The vacuum that resulted from this was filled mostly by spammers and trolls, though. Sometimes i wonder how much different things would have turned out in here without the lockdown and vaccination madness.

Probably fed up of all the merit farming shit posters

I think so. The possibility is unlimited.
There are a bunch of Legendary Shit posters who are trying to jump over people's heads without realizing that they are doing shit.
Writes useless nonsense without any context. He should learn from me. I Ignored a bunch of Shit posters. Let's say he is fine as long as he is not seeing people getting bored at the house and posting shit because they have nothing to do. There is a saying; "A lazy mind is the devil's factory."  Roll Eyes

What are you trying to say?
Maybe it's just me but i can't make much sense out of your rant after reading it more then ten times (not joking).
WO is a place for hanging out with fellow Bitcoiners and sharing interests, not only Bitcoin-related. It's the exception to the rule.
This thread is more like a never ending family gathering, imo. I never got so much colorful conversation out of one thread anywhere else on the internet, and i've been online for roughly 30 years now.
Maybe you're confusing the term "shitpost" with something else?
IDK, maybe it's just me having a less than optimal day, not getting the meaning of your message.

You know if you know. But if you didn't get it, You are soft-hearted.
I know the term "Shitpost." Believe me; I know that.
They already got it and are scratching their balls and thinking about what to write now.

Soft hearted  Huh
I'm an altruistic guy. There is a common prejudice about altruistic people, which would match soft heartedness in some way, but it's just wrong.
However, something still feels not right inside me this evening, i just managed to mistype altruistic three times in a singe line, with only two occurences.
As i have got tons of imaging material to re-process from older astrophotography sessions, it's best to say good bye for today. Also a good opportunity to watch Avatar 2 while CPU and GPU are crunching numbers.

The dogecoin pump from the logo change has already been whittled down back to the price level where it was before. Anyone who bought in got stuck at the top. I wonder how much Elon sold?

I absolutely saw that coming. The doggie is about dead since Elon jumped on its back.

So where's the market heading at?
Bitcoin coexisting with CBDC could be a valid option, no?

EDIT: long term, you know.

Meh

Headline of my dreams:
Dogecoin owner buys twitter and removes it from the www.

EDIT: Rant over. I just needed a break from hammering fence poles in the ground for daughter's pony (coming soon).
Got a new (used) telescope as a self-reward for my job's salary, 1500mm focal length, but rainy weather won't let me test it.
Also coming soon.

Have a nice day, i'll go resume the fencing.

does anyone know a good tradingview alternative that doesn't force you to create an account?

would like to watch a "0 - BTC/USD" chart

try cryptowat.ch

thanks.

unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to create a "0 - BTC/USD" chart  (inverse chart)

Oh. Didn't know about that particular chart, but the site is OK and i thought they would probably have it.

I have not yet gotten the results of the stone analysis but I suspect it might have something to do with the mineral water that I drink basically everyday. Natural spring water used to be healthy but humans have screwed nature over so much over the years that we need to filter everything now or suffer the side-effects. At some point, our water will become undrinkable.

Have you got a nutritional/mineral profile of that mineral water?
Might be interesting.

Drinking water will be even more important on a global scale than it even is today.
It's something so basic and essential, we might run into big problems if the natural supplies become endangered.

No need to worry. "Experts" say we can drink toilet water instead.

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/08/19/direct-potable-reuse-why-drinking-water-could-include-recycled-sewage.html

Quote
The idea of drinking water that was recently sewage swirling down your toilet bowl, shower drain, or kitchen sink may sound pretty icky. But experts say it’s actually nothing to be squeamish about — and it might be coming to your state and city soon.

It’s a water recycling method known as direct potable reuse, or DPR, which sends highly treated sewage water almost directly to a drinking water system for distribution to communities. It’s legal in Texas, and legal on a case-by-case basis in Arizona. Multiple other states are in the process of formulating regulations to legalize it too, including California, Colorado, and Florida.

The water produced by DPR meets federal drinking water quality standards, experts say. And there’s a growing movement to urge people to warm up to the idea of DPR and other sewage recycling methods, which were once dismissively labeled “toilet-to-tap.”

Yeah, but even UV-C light and becteria would probably not filter out Chemicals, Hormones and Nano-particles.
In my here country we do it the other way round: We are still fllushing the toilets with drinking water.

Experts: "Because we will always have plenty of water from the mountains"
Climate Change: "Hold my beer..."
