Digihash payments frozen again? 5 hours since last payment with 140MH/s scrypt personally contributed :/

EDIT: Looks like someone just gave it a kick, bulk payment came in, thank you!

Update on DigiHash:

Many people who have been mining have been experiencing issues sending large transactions from their mining wallets. This is due to these wallets including a very large number of tx outputs from the mining pool. This takes the wallet a very long time to add up all the various inputs to formulate a transaction. This can become overwhelming with thousands of inputs.

The mining pool since inception has been set to pay out at 1 DGB. We have upped this limit to 500 DGB to help minimize bloat on the block chain and reduce this tx input/output problem. If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM us. Cheers.

Cryptsy Lying About Following All State Laws say coinfire.

http://coinfire.io/2015/05/01/cryptsy-lying-about-following-all-state-laws/
I'm not making a big deal out of this at the moment, can anyone tell me why I should? It seems to me that the licensing being talked about in this article is not yet common, if at all in place on any of the exchanges. Big V's reply (see below) to this article seems reasonable to me at this juncture, what am I missing?

n response to coinfire

I’d like to make a statement regarding coinfire’s article claiming we are lying about being fully licensed.

First off, we’ve never made any claims about being fully licensed at the state level. I’m unsure where they received their information from, but like every other Bitcoin company in the US, we do not have state level MSB licenses. Are we working to acquire them? Yes, but the process can take years.

There is no company that is fully licensed at the state level in the US. None.

Coinfire claims to have tried contacting us, but I’m unsure the method they were attempting. I’ve not seen anything from them requesting information. Had they asked, we would have told them that we do not have state level licenses – just like anybody else who asks that question. They certainly would not have had to call state by state requesting information because we would have told them we do not carry state licenses.

We do, however, fully comply with our Federal MSB requirements. This includes filing SAR (Suspicous Activity Reports) and CTR (Currency Transaction Reports). We also have one of the most extensive KYC programs in the industry, scrub accounts against the OFAC list, and perform Transaction Monitoring. At a federal level, we are compliant.

Federal compliance is the only claim we have ever made and will make.

I invite the writer at coinfire to contact me so I can show him what we do have, and what we don’t. I’m sure we could chat for hours about the woes of a Bitcoin related company attempting to get licenses from all the states.

It seemed to be a good investigation, but it was based on a false premise.

“BigVern”
We feel this accurately sums everything up. No digital currency company is fully compliant with every state in the US. To be compliant in the US as an exchange a company needs to comply not only with the US federal government but 47/50 States who each have their own set of rules and regulations.

It is a nightmare to wade through the regulations, bonding requirements and compliance requirements in 51 separate jurisdictions. Not to mention you don't know if they will change the rules regarding digital currency and separate them from other money transmitter services like New York has. This is driving a lot of companies to move oversees to places like Hong Kong to at least get off the ground and get started.

To attempt to become compliant in the US you are looking at a minimum net-worth requirement of $21 million with almost $400K (due annually) up front just to get the bond to even begin applying for state money transmitter licenses with no guarantee those will ever be approved. That does not include the attorney fees either which can easily run a few hundred thousand dollars.

This has resulted in a "winner take all" scenario where companies like Coinbase can virtually eliminate all competition.

Can we add the new Copay wallet to the list? BitPay has done an excellent job with it built upon bitcore.

How can we improve this basic description of DigiByte multi-algorithm mining?

Quote
DigiByte uses five independent mining algorithms to process transactions over the network. Each algorithm accounts for about 20% of all blocks discovered on the network. This allows for greater decentralization as currently three of the five DigiByte algorithms are ASIC resistant and much better for GPU miners. The best GPU algorithms to mine on are Skein, Groestl and Qubit. It is still possible (but not recommended) to mine all five algorithms with a CPU.

SHA256 is heavily dominated by used Bitcoin ASICS as DigiByte provides an attractive market to miners who can no longer competitively mine Bitcoin with their used ASICS.  Scrypt is now becoming more dominated by ASICs, however it is still possible to GPU mine a few DigiBytes each day.

Cheers.
cool stuff and compared to bitcoin nodes, we are more 'out there' than most would give us credit for!

2851 Nodes so far, we are over half the size of the current Bitcoin network. Very good news indeed Smiley

I have had the chance to talk with Jackson on a few occasions but I have never sensed long term commitment from him.

I can tell everyone here I will never leave the DigiByte project. I am giving, have given and will continue to give 110%. It has cost me many things already, including my last relationship as well as financial stresses.

But at the end of the day this is not about me, or any single one of us. This is about the community, this is about the freedom this technology offers to all of us across the globe.

From the african sands, to the chinese rice patties and the european landmarks and every space in between... DigiByte can unite us all.

There are many challenges that lay ahead and we have already faced many of them, but we have persevered as a community and overcame many of these challenges with a tenacious veracity not yet seen in the crypto world. Its gut check time. Time to keep working hard toward the long term goal and vision.

I am very optimistic for the future, because I whole heartidly believe in all of you who are reading this right now.

Yours to the end,

Jared

Great vision.

Once again, I know I am at the right place. The international freedom of this technology lead by DGB... That sounds a great plan Wink
Look forward to seeing what is coming next for DGB ! Wink

Thank you Jared for your sincere explanations and sorry for the scarifies you had to make along this challenging direction.
May Jared and we, long term DGB believers, be awarded along this journey.

Best,
Halin

Hey guys.

Just playing a few with my wallets lately. And trying to transfer some from my cpu to my android device.
However everytime I cannot send the totality of any wallet. I have to split the coins!

Anyone having the same issue ?
Any Fix ? Maybe I'm not using it properly.

Still got 500K to send from my android to cpu and it doesn't let me do it.

Any ideas or suggestions ?

Cheers

Guys, I think we should create a skype call community, where we can share information instantly... and talk about DigiByte a lot Smiley

If we already have one, can someone add me please. You can also add me in person, that will be great, too? Thank you. Skype ID: "halinyo"
Please mention your BCT username.

We are not aware of a Skype community. Is this possible? Or is it a matter of adding several contacts?

Remember we also have the IRC chat room #digibytecoin, we also like to stay in #digibyte

There are so many different posts and ideas it's too difficult which to choose to quote ... so, this is more of a general response.

I completely (like 100% completely) understand the arguments that this bitcointalk forum is a significant and important aspect of the current marketing and spreading the word about DGB.  One of the dangers of online communities is that they become isolated echo chambers.  They isolate ideas rather than connect and spread them.

It's relevant for DGB - and good for DGB - that we have one of the best and most prodigious altcoin forums in bticointalk.  And, the previous comments are right on track ... that having a great forum here on bitcointalk helps DGB by encouraging like-minded people to get involved.

Also - less important - but also - there's a time factor.  I'm busy.  I'm sure you're busy too.  More forums and discussions means more time.

However, I also think there's a place and reason for both.  Having the primary DGB forum be here on bitcointalk reinforces the idea that DGB is subordinate to BTC.  In reality, at the present moment, that's true.  DGB is currently subordinate to BTC.  BTC had a head start ... so we don't yet have as big a community, or as many merchants, companies, etc..  I believe that someday we will ... and even more, I believe that DGB has the potential to emerge as a true alternative to BTC ... not just as a subordinate.  In order for us to achieve the goal of developing DGB into a true alternative to BTC, we need to start building the infrastructure to be independent - and, a dedicated forum is part of that necessary infrastructure.  It's not the only part - but it is part of that effort.

I know that HR has done - and I'm sure will continue to do - great work towards providing support discussions in http://asistec-ti.com ... maybe some of those will eventually get cross posted, linked, etc., as they are here.

There are also other possibilities and benefits in the dedicated forum ... things that haven't yet been considered, like an informal marketplace for trading, or selling goods within the community.  There are just so many possibilities.

My only real criticism is that I'm not a huge fan of "simple-machines" forums.  There are better, more interactive, and interesting forum templates.  But, beggars can't be choosers.  Because I have neither the time or the expertise to develop an administer a forum, I'm on board with whatever.

We agree it is very important to keep the discussion going here on BTC Talk as this is our #1 source of new users and attention. However, this site is a single point of failure and we are definitely in favor of having a DigiByte specific forum to begin sprouting our own two legs to stand on for the long term.

We will begin posting both here as well as on DigiByteForum as well as more technical stuff on HR's forum.  We like the idea of having different ways to come together as a community if anything should happen to one particular website or entity. After all, this is a decentralized digital currency.  We have always envisioned our role diminishing as time goes on and DigiByte takes on a life of its own.
