481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: February 18, 2020, 10:04:07 PM
Hi together

One of my Apollo (batch2) has some issues atm. I let them (2 pc.) run in turbo mode for about 30 days. Now one of them keeps crashing after like a few hours. The other ones continues to run without issues. Only thhing what i could see was that memory (Ram) consumption gets higher and higher. (But i am not sure if this is the reason.) Any hint what i could do, a) to find out the reason and b) to fix it.

Any help very appreciated

Does this only happen in turbo mode? Have you tried re-imaging the SD card?

Need a few more beta testers for the full node update. If you have a batch 2 unit and have basic terminal skills (ie can ssh into the machine and run basic commands), dm me your email address!
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FutureBit Project Apollo: Bringing ASIC Mining Back to the Home Miner! on: February 11, 2020, 06:59:00 PM
WATCH OUT if you are mining on TBDICE. Do NOT use an LTC address starting with M, you won't get paid. My apollo found a block but I didn't get the reward because I was using an address starting with M. It sucks big time it's a known issue but I didn't know and nowhere on the website says M addresses are not supported. Best to avoid the pool altogether since the owner is MIA for more than a year now..

Yes the operator has disappeared for years, still seems to run but I wouldn't not use them.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: January 27, 2020, 05:05:09 PM
someone on ebay is selling 5 futurebit Apollo miners. He is claiming that one apollo can be cranked up to 250-400 MH/s...Has anyone tried and how many watts did it draw, Probably can only run for 10 minutes?

If you really wanna crank these things each unit can go up to 250-400 MH/s with the right tuning (Experienced users only - but I can give some level of guidance).

I don't believe this, sorry. Too much overclock+overvolt. Scam seller.

Max MHz Apollo UI allow is 858. This is about 144 MHS. Maybe 150, 160. No more.

Yes that's BS...150-155 MH/s is max for the Apollo...the regulator would blow up in 10 min on anything higher.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: January 27, 2020, 05:01:31 PM
Hey jstefanop i know this is off topic but how is the
Low cost Plug and play node over WiFi with an easy to use interface!
comming along

When the software is released for the Apollo there will be more details on that for obvious reasons. The hardware will essentially be the Apollo controller, and software wise it will be nearly the same as the Apollo minus the mining part. So as soon as its ready for Apollo the standalone node will be nearly ready for release.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread on: January 27, 2020, 04:57:10 PM
Does anyone know if BFGminer for Raspberry pi has been updated yet to include auto-restart?

I don't think I ever updated those binaries since most people self-compile on pi's. I'll get around to pushing an updated release for these with some fixes after im done with the full node update for the Apollo.

Google is your friend, just search "litecoin network nodes"

https://blockchair.com/es/litecoin/nodes

Not sure if blockchair is good a blockchain+network explorer. Just the first I found  Smiley.

Thanks
I was looking for more like a map.
Before they have a map version and it showed like in San Francisco (that’s we’re I’m at) had like 2 nodes, but one we get the node running on the Apollo there will be 3 nodes with mine Smiley

Yea, as you can see the latest LitecoinCore only has about 700 nodes running. Once our node is online and enough people upgrade we could easily be the #1 or #2 version of a full node running the litecoin network. Make no mistake this would be a game changer in decentralization.

Thanks for the update, good to hear that it's close. Do you still need help testing this out?

Yes everyone who DMed me will get an email once a stable solution is worked out.

That's an actually legit reseller.  I do not know if Jstefanop actually endorses him or not. Eyeboot has an actual website, that is is just his ebay listing. You can find to owner of the store around forum too.

Yes he is one of my official resellers.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: January 10, 2020, 05:18:17 PM
Yeah, one buying point for me when I bought this, was to use it also as a full node.

Had to pause testing on this during the holidays. Focus for this year is going to be software, and getting the full node running smoothly is #1 priority for the next few weeks.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: January 04, 2020, 12:51:55 AM
Just a quick question to everyone in this thread,
Has any one used ...Custom Miner Mode..and made changes that improved mining or performance..

Yes, someone managed .9 watts/MH at the wall, which is better than even I have been able to achieve with my prototype machines.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: December 19, 2019, 03:42:29 PM
Hi stefanop:

Full node software is a big feature. We can wait a few more weeks.

Think about a christmas present for us

I'm still waiting for someone to explain why Full node software is a BIG feature. Can someone please answer:

Does it allow one to find more blocks?

Does it reward more blocks than a litecoin server such as tbdice.org?

Does it save electricity?

What makes having it on the Apollo such a BIG feature???

There is only one reason to run a full node, and everything else is icing on the cake.

Running a full node as you the individual, means YOU are running and participating in the network that controls how Litecoin runs. Right now a large percentage of the nodes are run by large scale miners and exchanges, and they could control how Litecoin is run by simply switching to new node tomorrow.

The whole point of this project is decentralization. Is there any near term "gain" by running a node? No, just like there is no near term gain by mining litecoin if you compare it to fiat.

But being able to run the whole system the controls the network on your desk, and you being able to choose the future direction of this technology when the time comes (and it will come when crypto gains true adaption), is priceless.

Running a full node means you are controlling your own financial future, what is that worth to you?

Is it with MSR mod? What's your memory setup and CPU speed?

Yup, 4.1 GHZ

Really impressive jstefanop, which cooling solution are you using? and what temperature your 3900x is working.

Stock cooler and 3000 CL14 memory. Running around 78C

BTW just realized anyone on Amazon can post a review even if they have not bought it from there. Just listed the Apollo there so if anyone has an Amazon account would appreciate some genuine reviews there (FYI I'm not soliciting 5 star reviews, please post your honest impressions).

Hey, jstefanop
hows the Full Node upgrade going, any updates, how are the testers doing

this ^^^ I had hoped to volunteer to be one of the testers as well

Still trying to figure out the optimal balance between mining efficiently and running the full node without it crashing the unit every few days. If i knew this was going to give me this much trouble I would have used a controller with way more ram.  Undecided

The 5500 is just an updated Polaris and exactly half a 5700 in terms of mining...nearly same memory bandwidth and almost half the power draw on 7nm compared to old polaris. So 26MH stock makes perfect sense. No reason to not go with the 5700, since its double the power draw and double the performance for less than double the price.

Run into a issue yesterday and can't seem to figure out the problem.

I can't seem to get access to the Dashboard on my desktop. I can get to it on my phone but not my desktop. Now until today it was still mining the litecoinpool just fine, as I never disconnected. But I figured I would try to reflash the image and see if that helped. It did not. I can still access the dashboard from my phone but not view any computer in my house for some reason. Any thoughts?

What kind of error are you getting on your desktop? Since the phone is connecting to the miner then its connected to your network. I'd try clearing the cache on your desktop. Is your desktop also connecting wireless like your phone? Try to open a private session (chrome) and connect. Maybe your anti-virus is blocking you?

Also, if you are using futurebit.local that could be the issue. Most smartphones can route .local hostname, but windows for example can't unless you have installed services that resolve them. You will need to get the local IP address if that's the case for your desktop.

Hi all  Smiley. I'm a new unexperienced miner and a new user of this forum, i've got three Moonlander 2 and one  Gekkoscience New pac 2 and i'm in the same troubles: i can't run together BFG Miner for Moonlander 2 and CG miner for Gekkoscience New pac 2, even if i set the file bat as you done it works only for the Three Moonlander, when i start CGMiner the Gekko science new pac 2 doesn' t start, it seems that even the sets i do, CGMiner goes only to search the Moonlander, and i don't understand why...  Huh Huh Huh
Thanks in advance.

It might be that geekoscience has not implemented per port functionality on their software. You would need to contact them and ask them to include this in next software update.
