ill take 8 of these.

you said they will be smaller, thinner too? how many can you put on a hub? single space or double space?

The final PCB size will be similar to origonal moonlander. Even though this thing sips power on the lower end, it still needs a rather large heatsink for people that want to push it.

sweet i cant wait to get my hands on these, i love the 1st gen ones..

im going to have to get 2 more superbpag hubs so ill have 8 1st gen and 8 2nd gen..

will they use the same driver for bfgminer and run at the same time?

hmm didnt not think about that kind of use case...the drivers are actually not compatible either way, since ASICs are completely different. Youll most likely need to launch two diffrent instances of bfgminer to run them together.

Probably a dumb question (never used Asics, only GPU), but would this be able to be used on any coin using scrypt algo? There are many new altcoins using it and I'd love to be able to use a device like this to speculatively mine early while difficulty is lower.

Yes this is what alot of people use USB miners for. This will work with any scypt based coin or pool.

HI, buddy:

I' m come from China , how can I get your USB Miners? or how become your agent in China Smiley

thanks

Just shoot me a PM if your interested in bulk supplying in China...but with your newbie account I wouldnt consider this unless you have an established userbase/website in china that you sell similar products.
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: August 26, 2017, 08:39:54 PM
People are speculating about a difficulty "explosion" for several months... Many said that at that point the difficulty would be around 400k, 500k, 600k... BS! It's still above 280K!! Obviously the difficulty will grow considerably until the end of the year. But all predictions about the difficulty since the beginning of the year have gone VERY far from the truth. I'm expecting a considerable increase as I said, but people saying it will grow 3x until October... No way! Most people are mining other coins with L3+ (not litecoin).

You do realize they haven't shipped out any units in the second batch yet right? The April/May shipments were their first batch, the pretty much tripled scrypt has that we see now. The next shipments are going to start going out now, and these batches are going to be 2-3 times the shipments from he initial.

Diff will be way over 500k by end of September just from bitmain alone, and thats not including however many BW will make.

I call BS.  How do you know its 2-3 times as many machines? You can't even put a number on the april/May batch....

Stop spreading fud!   Will difficulty increase? of course but stfu with rumors and other bullshit you don't know shit about....

Beside that diff went from 125 to 270 thats not tripled....

Lol ok buddy, love how newbs like you come on here and tell veteran members to stfu like YOU actually know what your talking about just because you don't like what you hear. I don't pull these numbers out of my ass, and making an informed post for people buying these so they can better gauge their expectations.

I build scrypt miners, and have personal relationships with all the main scrypt chipmakers. Now on to correct YOUR FUD.

Bitmain started shipping in the initial L3+ batches between mid April to End of May, diff went from 90k to 275k, thats actually exactly 3x...sorry you can't do simple maths. In that time they shipped about 10-12k units (this is a conservative estimate since some hash is not all on the LTC network). Being conservative again we can assume they will ship out another 10k in the coming batches between mid july to September. That will be an additional 5-6TH to the network bringing difficulty in the 450-500k range.

This is not including the shipments from BW (which I personal know the exact number of chips they are ordering since I'm ordering chips from them). I wont scare you with those numbers either in an effort not to provoke a rage session from you Wink

Hmm guess I was too conservative...looks like well be looking at way over 600k by end of september Wink And then we have another 10k in October batch that just sold out...so bye bye easy profitability with these :/

UPDATE 9/25/17

The final design has been locked in for production next month, and I'm happy to reveal it you all! PCB is a cool matte black design, with the same anodized black aluminum heatsink as the original moonlander. I decided to include both memory voltage adjustment in addition to core voltage, as my tests had an efficiency gain of 10-20% for ASICs that can handle lower memory voltage!

As a super thank you to all who pre-ordered I decided to include a 25mm fan into the cooling solution as well, so no need to come up with clumsy external fan solutions to keep these cool. A top side small ASIC heatsink will also be included to further increase thermal efficiency (it will be black not blue). With this setup I've achieved 1.6W/MH all the way up to 800mhz, which is 4.6 MH of hash power for just 7.5 watts! Pretty impressive for a chip thats designed to do 3.8 MH at the same watts.

Check out the pics below!

UPDATE 9/4/17

UPDATE 9/1/17

Official Pre-order has started and links are here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2141261.msg21415891#msg21415891

==============================

Well this one has been a long time coming, but after many months of negotiations, design, and testing I finally have a new USB Stick miner to announce based on a latest gen scrypt chip, that makes this stick one of the most powerful, profitable, and efficient USB Stick miners ever released (even beats bitmain in efficiency with about 1.3 w/mh)!

Like with the original Moonlander project, my goals are the same for this stick and what it means for the crypto community. Build a low cost and easy to use scrypt USB miner that will put mining and Litecoin use into thousands of hands that would have never had the means or experience to do mining before! Except I can hopefully realize this goal this time around, since the original Moonlander project was based on a obsolete chip I happened to get the last remaining stock in, this chip is in full production, and have access to the first batches of chips from the foundry!

So without further ado here is the FutureBit Moonlander 2!

Specs: (these are prototype specs and can change in production version)

- 3mh to 5.5mh scrypt performance per miner
- uses about 1.5w/mh for most of that range
- core clock from 500mhz to nearly 1GHz!
- fully customizable core voltage range from .6 - 1v, as well as adjustable memory voltage
- Fully redesigned 5v->core voltage stage with about 95% efficiency
- Heavy duty/over speced parts were used to ensure wide range of operation (stick can be pushed to nearly 6mh if you can cool it)
- Custom heatsink design, and the first USB miner to feature a built in 25mm Fan!
- status LEDs for power, TX and RX transmission
- uses latest bfgminer 5.4 for control
- Will work with all Mac OS, Linux, and Windows based PCs, as well as RPi's etc (and I will be offering easy to use pre-compiled binaries)

The Moonlander 2 is over 4x the speed, over 5x the efficiency, and nearly 5x the profitability (if you guys remember when the original moonlander came out, it was doing about $2 a month, this stick is doing almost $10 per month at current price/difficulty). This beats out any other stick miner whether scrypt or any other algo!

Best part is that this stick is consuming under 5 watts at its peak efficiency range (~ 4MH), so unlike the original Moonlander which was nearly impossible to operate without a hub and fan, this stick can easily run on USB 3 power with no fan in the 3-4MH range.

Production:

Batch 1 was successfully produced, and shipped out to all pre-orders. Batch 2 is currently underway, check out the pre-order thread for more info on ordering.

Pre-Order/Cost:

Just like the original Moonlander I'm more interested in getting mining and crypto out to as many hands as possible than pure profits (so I need you guys to push these out to all your friends for stocking stuffers and introduction crypto/mining!). While id love to keep the price at around $30 like the original, it will unfortunately not be possible this time around since I got the original ASIC for practically free, this time its a brand new ASIC so I'm paying around $15 just for the ASIC alone. Pricing will most likely be in the 50-70 USD range based on batch component costs and ASIC pricing. (Considering my original is still selling for over $50, and this one is way more efficient and profitable I hope you guys still consider this a steal).

Ordering will also be done a little differently this time, since Im a one guy shop, I was pretty overwhelmed in shipping out hundreds of sticks in time for everyone to get them ASAP, and this time the number of sticks will be way more so I have enlisted a few distributors around the world to handle pre-orders and distribution. Most of these guys you already know and trust so hope that wont be an issue. If you are planning on ordering more than 50 sticks, you can still contact me for direct ordering.

USA/Canada/NA will be handled by Scott at HolyBitcoin, and ASICPuppy
Europe and surrounding areas will be handled by Bitshopper.de
Asia and surrounding region klintay/eyeboot
South Africa/Africa Bitmart.com
Australia/NZ bittawm bittawmart.com

Please contact me if you wish to be a distributor in South America/India, these are the last two major regions I don't have distributors in.

Keep in mind I will work with the distributors to keep fair launch pricing on the initial batch, but this will be only for the initial pre-order batch, and wont be able to control pricing past this. The initial batch is for about 1-2k units, so if you want to pick one up at the initial pricing I would pre-order.

BIG THANKS to all the original buyers of my Moonlander stick...you guys made #2 possible, and hopefully with the success of Moonlander 2 ill be able to launch even some more interesting projects I'm working on!

Keep hashing and spread the word!

Oh and some screenshots of the device actually hashing

Normal operation at my scypt pool...driver is not complete yet so its not reporting hardware hashrate...pool hashrate is displayed (756 MHz clock @ 6 watts... ~ 1.4 w/mh!)

Stress test...nearly 6MH!

Power draw..5w @ 648 MHz (~3.8 MH/s) = ~1.3w/MH...the most efficient operational ASIC miner in the world!

1473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FutureBit M.2 to GPU Riser adapter! on: August 10, 2017, 08:30:40 PM
Ah that makes sense. How much power can be transferred through these adapters and the m.2 slot though? the other adapters i've seen have an extra plus for auxiliary power usually via 4 pin to SATA connector. Is it safe to use your adapter with a 1080 Ti? I read that 1080 Ti cards can pull 75 watts and over 4 amps through the PCI-E connector without an alternate power source.

My understanding is the pcie riser supplies the power the cards take through the pcie slot and no power traverses the USB cable. So no power should be pulled through the M.2 to GPU riser adapter.

Regarding the other m.2 to PCI-E 4x adapters, if your riser is powered then you usually don't need to plug power into the m.2 to pcie adapter. The power connection on a m.2 to PCI-E adapter is to power cards that would be plugged directly into the pcie slot on the adapter. In which case, you couldn't plug anything over pcie 4x anyway.

I just bought 2 of them for a couple 1080ti. I'll let you know if they catch fire.  Wink

Thats correct...these are designed for the GPU risers, and those are obviously self powered and don't pull power from the actual slot. Only thing that goes over the USB cable is PCIe data lines.

1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega Rumored to Hash 70+ Mh/s on: August 05, 2017, 05:07:28 PM
so why is Vega FE not performing the same or at least in the same ballpark? Same GPU (well as far as mining goes it's identical), same memory (only more of it on FE) so I fail to see how the RX Vega can double or TRIPLE the hashrate. Driver optimization, okay do it with FE it shouldn't really matter.

VEGA Frontier is not a gaming card. But I do agree concerning the hashrate jump to 70mhs to be too much even with somethings enabled on the gaming version.

Vega FE in its current form has its HBM2 working ~ 400 GB/s...about 40GB/s of that discrepancy is actually from the upper stacks on the 16GB HBM2 (FE has two stacks of two 4GB dies on top of each other..the top two dies actually run at lower timings due to hardware limitations...ie top stacks run slower since electrical signals have to go through additional vias to reach top). The other 40GB is due to driver optimizations that AMD is working on right now.

So out of the box we can expect RX Vega to do 440GB/s with its single stacked two dies (8GB total HBM2), plus near 480GB/s if they fixed the driver issues by launch. Thats a 20% bump from the stock ~33-35MH = ~ 41MH. Memory can be overclocked at least 20% from my tests, so thats brings it up to ~50 MH/s. Throw in another 10% with timing optimizations and were looking at about 55MH top eth speed for vega.

Disclamer I DO have a Vega FE and and working with AMD devs to address these issues and was at the siggraph event and talked to Raja. AMD is finally in a corner where they can't ignore the mining market anymore, and I'm doing the best I can do address the mining markets concerns to AMD. Expect more good stuff from them in the future Wink
1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega Rumored to Hash 70+ Mh/s on: August 03, 2017, 11:31:53 PM
100 MH is pure BS...the THEORETICAL max that Vega can do with its 480GB/s bus is around 60MH. With overclocked memory (lets be generous and say 20% increase), you could theoretically be looking at ~70MH. Real world you can not hide 100% of the memory latency so 50-60 is more realistic.

1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: August 01, 2017, 06:43:58 AM
I'm having a serious doubt on the profitability of the September batch (L3+). the LTC price is at 40USD not mooving, the difficulty is increasing like crazy. As of today the roi for an L3+ shifted from 33 Days to 3Months.....
What do you think?

Yes thats how difficulty works. Thousands of these units are shipping out, and thousands more will ship out by September.

New people here really need to do some research...FYI a normal ROI for ASICs is in the 6-10 month range. If you get anywhere near that range before the next 1TH miner kills your machines you should be thrilled.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.7 (Windows/Linux) on: August 01, 2017, 06:33:30 AM
Finally I can test and confirm that AMD has fixed the issue with slowdown at high DAG epochs for Vega/Polaris/Fiji cards. They are going to release new drivers in a few days.

Great news! Can't wait to see 30mh/s again.

I cannot understand what exactly makes you happy!?
You will get 5% increase in hash-rate but the difficulty will go up 10-15%, so you will lose 10% on profitability!
Take a note of your earnings now and then and update us later on your feeling Smiley

Been saying this for a while, it makes no difference to AMD miners. Our profitability will remain the same. The worst hit for this upgrade will be nvidia cards, but most of them are not mining eth anyway so again all this makes zero difference in the end.

The same people that jumped on the mining craze at its peak not knowing what difficulty is, are the same ones that will be "happy" with the update.
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How will AMD Vega affect GPU mining? on: July 30, 2017, 07:02:05 PM
I all comes down to price , availability and power usage , yeah the hash rate and mods by miner devs are important

but no one knows what the true combination of thosw three factors are, for now the smart money is sticking with nvidia

No, the scared money, the herd, is sticking with Nvidia. Follow the herd and you get what they do... which usually amounts to not much.
real power consumption on your vega card, arround?default and undervolt?

It does ethereum in comparable power to an RX 580 (140 watts). This is down clocked to like 900 MHz, undervolted, and doing ~33mh.

Im at siggraph right now and will be at the RX Vega launch event and meeting Raja later...hopefully Ill have an RX Vega to play with soon Cheesy
1480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.7 (Windows/Linux) on: July 26, 2017, 10:10:34 PM
Does anyone know the maximum safe voltage I can run HBM2 at?  I seem to have hit a wall at 1100MHz @ 1050mV.  I've risked as high as 1200mV but only managed an unstable 1125MHz on the memory clock.  1100 @ 1050 is rock solid for mining.

Your not changing HBM2 voltage. If your changing memory voltage via wattman your probably not doing anything(if anything your changing VDDCI). Vega's HBM2 voltage is locked at 1.35v for highest state. There is not much headroom to over volt it much more, since they are already over-volting it from the HBM2 spec of 1.2v.

You can't? *You* can't? Watch me.

Never said *I* can't ;P Already have it at 1.45v and pushing 1200. Just pointing out the other guy that thinks he's changing HBM2 voltage with the slider on watt man Wink
