I wonder how nullius' posts look after a few mg of C12H17N2O4P  Cool

nullius & JJG in the middle of a cocaine session, sitting at a table, debating something.......

Wink

They're harsh with words on these boards, but I believe it would be much more gemütlich IRL, though.

After wiring the funds from our latest windfall, to our main, joint financial institution, the most difficult decision I need to make today is "How many mg of psilocybin do I want to dose myself with, and is today the day that I finally put @nullius on ignore..."

Life is good.

Have a great weekend, gentlemen.

Say what you want, the guy brings color to these boards. Sadly, not only figuratively but also literally.

503  Other / Serious discussion / Re: California Court of Appeal / Coinbase: not your keys, not your (forked) coins? on: November 14, 2020, 05:14:29 PM
As said before, by quoting "(...) plaintiff argues nothing advises the customer he may not be able to access the private keys (...)", I believe this judge seriously hints in that direction.

If such decision were to be pronounced in the future, its effect on exchanges could be very disruptive, and understanding or misunderstanding "how custodians work" would in that case be completely irrelevant. The only question left would then be "how custodians must work".

That's a good point. There is nothing that prevents a regulator from dictating how the custodian must operate.

We'll know soon enough.

I must admit I'm a bit surprised about the lack of discussion or interest on this subject. As soon as Paypal's crypto adventure launches, mass possession -- and soon thereafter: mass adoption -- will take a giant leap. I expect the number of crypto lawsuits to explode exponentially and I expect it to happen very, very soon.

The courts will inevitably have an influence that should not be underestimated on the level of (non-)regulation of crypto transactions (like it or not).

Bitcoin’s Price Action Rhymes With 1970 Gold Markets, Says CitiBank
Key Takeaways
An independent report from Citi Bank’s Managing Director argues that Bitcoin is the digital gold of the 21st century.
The devaluation of the worlds’ reserve currency—the U.S. dollar—formed the basis of the commentary.

Indeed independent (as opposed to 'from CitiBank itself'), so at least now we know with certainty which assets his bags are filled with. Wink

Thx!

507  Other / Meta / Re: Moderator deletion of serious discussion in the Wall Observer on: November 14, 2020, 03:00:16 PM
The line between WO and Serious Discussion has been quite thin for weeks (and probably from the very beginning, but I've not been active long enough to be able to know with certainty). I think nullius' posts are a category of their own and maybe Serious Discussion > Ivory Tower > Nullius' Dungeon might be a solution to avoid having his posts deleted from the WO in the future. Cool

Now seriously, I thought it was virtually impossible to have a post deleted from the WO (except for the obvious trolling or spamming). There's probably thousands of other "serious" posts in the WO, so to avoid any discussion or confusion for nullius or any other member in the future, it might be useful to know what the exact reason for deletion was.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 14, 2020, 10:50:03 AM
but we must admit that Trump's chances are extremely low and some bookmakers already made paymets for users who made their bets on Baiden...
even if its so low upto 1% it's still considerable, we might not know what will happen next, besides even if the odds are on with Biden we still know that there are many people who still believes on Trump.

I wonder what will be the outcome of this re-counts, though even I has a slightest doubt of having this an excuse to.make changes in the gap between votes.

If the stakes are high, some will really not pay these bettors up until there is official proclamation of the President. Though it is clearly, Biden wins here but we don't know if there are still cards hidden that may overturn this event. Really interesting if there will be some miracle that will change the results of this event.
OK but who will make this "official proclamation"? Only Trump and Biden could do that AFAIK, and if Trump doesn't accept his defeat bettors will need to wait several months or even years for court decisions from different states  Undecided

Here's a good article for that.

Who formally declares the winner of the US presidential election?

We can also check on the popular giant media for the declaration as they are more reliable, and until now I haven't seen a new stating that Biden was the winner already as he was not really declared yet.

I'm quite sure that the conditions of the bet will stipulate very clearly when and how the winner (of the election as well as of the bet Wink) will be decided. Doesn't look good for this gambler though... Wink

The gambler had chosen the odds with cent percent hope of winning. In the history of US election every Presidential candidate is being elected for two consecutive period as President. This is the first time a president is losing the election without continuing for a total of eight years. Maybe upon this fact the gambler could've chosen the odd for Trump.

I hope you are a young forum user, because there few other excuses for the bullsh*t you are posting here. Didn't anyone ever tell you it's better to keep your mouth shut and not talk about things you don't know anything about, and instead to listen and learn?

Check out article 2 from the US Constitution and learn a few things for a change.
509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn If im beginner on: November 13, 2020, 09:29:37 PM
Get a real job dude. BTC might might help you to give some minor profit but don't too much rely on BTC or this forum as main source of your income. If you come in this forum 10 years maybe it's possible to get sufficient profit on crypto but right now, The only way to earn here is to use your skills to do freelance job or invest fiat to crypto and wait for the price pump.

As a newbie. Sorry to disappoint your expection. But it's not possible to earn by just creating wallet and do some free work like airdrop and faucet. It's not profitable anymore and a waste of time.

All of these are true, he is just stating some facts that bitcoin is really not a good stable source of money.

A real job is what really makes us successful and having a job that is in lined with our passion is really much effective and the best way to earn money.

Relying on BTC is really not a good choice especially that it is volatile and risky to rely on. Bitcoin is really profitable in the times that it is really have a spike in its price in the market but that's not always the case.

Exactly. Work. Invest the part of the salary you can afford to lose in crypto.

OP, where does this idea come from, that crypto is falling from the skies like manna from heaven?? From airdrops? Do you really think those airdrops were worth even 1 single dollar?

Thouh you can easily search this on google, I will still be giving some of my favorite bitcoin resources.

[1] https://www.youtube.com/c/aantonop - His videos are recommended for newbies

Great tips, @Maus, and it shows once more how even an OP shitpost can lead to a stream of very interesting replies, yours being on of them.

@OP: the quality of your posts is extremely low. Work on it. The Beginners board is not an experimental testing zone for shitposters.

Hoewel hijzelf me in elk geval een stuk minder flamboyant lijkt.

Maar verder heeft hij groot gelijk naar oplossingen te willen zoeken om aan de macht van de staat te ontsnappen. Cool 100% support Wink

@LoyceV, being present doesn't oblige you to share your username, rite? Wink
Let me put it this way: if anyone claims to be me, ask for a signed message as explained here. You won't get it, so get the tar and feathers ready Cheesy

 Grin Cheesy

I like my privacy as well, so the only question I'll ask you, is which beer you'd like. (rather do the meetup in a Belgian beer bar, on second thought Wink )

edit: I might have my own personal #JeSuisLoyceV T-shirt printed for the occasion Cheesy

Imo, everybody over 75 should be allowed to die. In my country/culture the only option is suicide, which is also still a crime.
There have to be better options, but nobody should be told when to die. That's plain blasphemy. (I am an atheist, don't try to discuss about "god" with me).

Not sure if you read the book (honestly do so, especially knowing people like the quoted one actually really share that point of view). It's called "the right to die" but in reality it's state-forced euthanasia. edit: Huxley was a visionary, I fear.

Alright, but i meant it straight. If i would be facing a horrible death from cancer (for example), why should i have to suffer through it? I'm legally forced to, at the time.
This has to change, and it has to be a "free", validated decision.

I think everyone owns his life as his property, so even if you don't suffer, it's your right to end your life.

For the sake of discussion, it might be interesting to know that I live in a country where euthanasia is allowed (edit: of course, under conditions).

(and consumption of mushrooms is illegal but tolerated Wink )
516  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Suggestion: Bitcointalk 15th anniversary meetup in Arnhem on: November 10, 2020, 07:07:53 PM
I'm not much of a meetup person, I guess, but I can think of some people of this community with whom it would be my pleasure to have a few beers.

@LoyceV, being present doesn't oblige you to share your username, rite? Wink

@GazetaBTC If you bring your gun, I'll bring a can of spam, and we can do some spam hunting together IRL Grin

How old is Uncle Joe? Not Uncle Joe Stalin, he's dead ofc, wouldn't stop him voting nowadays it's all the rage but still no the other Uncle Joe?

This guy is on @JoeBiden’s Covid task force.

I bet he believes people over 75 should have the right to die. Out of solidarity with younger people and to keep social security affordable.

Let's remind him of this quote on September 6th, 2032, the day he turns 75.
