501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Investing in Bitcoin on: February 02, 2024, 01:40:24 AM
Well Hello from the other side ~

Ever felt that rush when Bitcoin hits a new high? Or the sinking feeling when it takes a nosedive? Let's talk about the rollercoaster ride that is Bitcoin investing. Are we in it for the tech, the profits, or just the thrill? Whether you're a HODLer for life or a day-trading.Let's dissect the highs, the lows, and everything in between. After all, the Bitcoin market isn't just about charts and numbers.

What are your thoughts on this ~ Let's discuss

I guess it's pretty obvious by now, the psychology of investing and then HODLing = earning profits in the future. There's no better thing that having the mentality that all he hard work (DCA for a long time), will be rewarded sooner. But in the beginning, it will be a big challenge for newbie on how to accumulate and stack sats and seeing your portfolio going down, but might be tough. But if you have experience those ups and downs and still being resilient, then I think you are not a true BTC holder.

And it's interesting to mentioned as well Fear of Missing Out (FOMO). This is also a psychological phenomenon magnified in Bitcoin market. If you can fight it out and not be influence by it and just HODL on your positions, I think you will be good in the end.
502  Economy / Economics / Re: Business/Entrepreneurship. on: January 31, 2024, 11:04:54 PM
So, if you had the opportunity to invest your money into something would it be to start up something regardless of the amount of risks that come with it, or would you rather open a business or make a simple investment into assets?

I guess there is no right or wrong answer here. If you invest your money into something and in return you will earn money, then it could be a passive income. Without yourself investing time as well. You can be a angel investor in the beginning, and if the project become successful, then it's going to be a lot of money and the risk is worth it. So every new project has that potential, and you might even mentor those start-ups, so another learning experience.

And on the other hand, opening a business you have that creative independent as you have the control of everything. Specially a business that you love and have passion to, You have the opportunity to innovate, create new products or services, and shape the identity of your business. So there are risks and challenges on both, but if you wanted to become successful, then it requires hard work and resiliency.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binary Trade Better or Better to Buy and Hold Bitcoin? on: January 31, 2024, 10:41:43 PM
I have been in a dilemma for some time now. Do I invest Bitcoin or I will start binary trade. I could not understand anything. Sometimes I feel like doing binary trade. I think that if I don't lose it, it goes around in my mind. But I did a lot of messing with Bitcoin. And read many websites and articles. After seeing everything and I have been around in the crypto world for a long time. I have experience on Bitcoin because Bitcoin 2022 was priced a lot. But now 2023 he is going to Bitcoin and at the beginning of this 24th and I am growing. For that I ask you for feedback if you give your valuable ideas then what is better for me because I have been in conflict with Aibitcoin and Binary Trade for a long time. But in many places I see that I have people and some they are making a lot of money.

I don't know why are you in a dilemma here, I think it's very easy to decide, don't do binary trading because it's simply gambling, IMHO. Just go long term and you will be find with BTC. You don't need to buy like 1 Bitcoin, you can do what majority here has done before and continue doing, slowly fill your wallets with Sats, do DCA or whatever way you can to accumulate and save, easy as that.

You don't need to complicate things in your end with this Binary trading, most of the time, less is better in crypto world. Maybe others are making money as they say, but every individuals tolerance and strategy is different. What works for someone, might not work for you in Binary trading.
504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: January 31, 2024, 10:06:24 PM
So they finally posted the fight trailer and it's even more epic than the Fury/Ngannou and AJ/Wallin ones: https://youtu.be/uw-c-J90_ZE?si=Bx5Hu30z2poHon8o

At least they're starting the promo now. If it had've got to Feb with nothing I would have assumed it wasn't going to happen.

And to think that the fight is what? barely two weeks, so definitely it's going to happen with the released of this promo, probably one of the best that we have seen in recent years. So it bring the hype once more for this fight, and if it doesn't excite us, then nothing will, IMHO.

For those looking for the current odds,

Fury @1.66, and Usyk @2.14.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 31, 2024, 09:42:14 PM
^^ I do agree, he has a lot of money, I read one interview of his that what keeps him motivated is that he is still "winning". Not that he can get a Grand Slam, but probably just like he said, he wanted to compete and play and see how far he can go.

Maybe his body can play, but if you look at the rankings and his age, not sure if he can improved it or even break in the top 20 ranking if that is his goal.

He is what now? in his 20th season?
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: O’Shaquie Foster vs. Abraham Nova WBC World SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT Feb 16 on: January 31, 2024, 01:30:40 PM
Great fight, if others haven't known or seen O'Shaquie Foster, you can search his highlights in Youtube specially against Hernandez.

It's one of the greatest fight last year, Foster travel to Mexico, fought to defend WBC super featherweight, corrupt judges, Hernandez was up in two of them. And then comes round 11th, voted as Round of the Year by Ring Magazine, https://www.ringtv.com/article/2023-round-of-the-year/.

Again, I urge you to look at it and see what Foster is made of. I thought that he will be fighting Joe Cordina next IBF unification, but I guess he needed a tune up fight first in Abraham Nova.

I think this is a easy fight for Foster, IMHO.

O’Shaquie was so good when he fought Rey Vargas he may not possess power punches but his level of determination and consistency in the ring is just awesome Nova is also good but he will have to score big in the early rounds because O’Shaquie is very consistent throughout the fight, this is going to be a very interesting fight as both fighters are ready to take in so they can give out so expect a slugfest on this fight.
They have somewhat similar styles and as we all know style makes a fight and their style will complement each other to come out with a great fight.

Style makes fight, and against Vargas, but he also brilliantly move from southpaw to orthodox in that fight, that he completely dominated Rey Vargas, and won 116-112, 117-111 and 119-109. Throw and landed more punches as per compubox.

And then retain his belt in a hard fought match against Hernandez in Mexico.

Looking at the odds and it match what I did say early, easy fight for Foster as Abraham Nova is almost 7:1 underdog in this fight.
507  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price: $35K or $45K next? on: January 30, 2024, 11:39:58 PM
Right now nobody knows if bitcoin will increase to 100,000 or to 25,000 because the price of Bitcoin right now is very surprising it differs from the higher concentration to lower concentration in which right now is unpredictable nobody knows if they falling point will continue to fall why what is doing now is retracing in order to achieve another height so the price of Bitcoin I don't think that it will reach to the appropriate prediction of people of 2024 but the market with determine if the price will soon return to it base

Yes, it's really very hard to predict where the price will go, when we have the approval of ETF's everyone is shouting $50,000. But guess what? the price went to $39,000. Now, after a few days, it settled down a bit, and at the start of the week, it goes to $43,000 but then on another correction to $42,000.

It's the end of the month, so far we just had like 2% growth this month, as compare to last year wherein we have a tremendous growth of +39%.

So we will see, I definitely would love to see $45,000 next, but I wouldn't be surprised if just one negative news around, prices going back below $40,000 again.

BTW, any of you guys betting on UTR Pro Tennis events?

No but watching some matches at the ATP Montpellier in France.

We watched Murray v Paire, Paire went through in 3 sets. Not great Tennis but entertaining
anyway. Murray just isnt enjoying his Tennis, he has said that but he really needs to finish up.

At this stage he is struggling to beat almost everyone on tour at ATP level, no disrespect to Paire.

Yeah, not sure though why he is still playing, is he financially motivated? but I don't think he earned money as he used to be. Maybe he is just enjoying at it is, he has nothing to proved already. And obviously, with his form I do agree that he will struggled with the young set of players.

It's really hard to retire unless this Legend will have to endure a career enjoying injuries. But we don't wish them like that, they should retire when their body is no longer cooperating with them, just like in the case of Murray.
509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: January 30, 2024, 10:41:28 PM
That is why boxing has rank system, ratings and etc. Otherwise any good unknown boxer would come, defeat everyone and sponsors gonna lose their “champion is promoting us” thing. It is not enough to simply be good. You must be good and be high in rank. So far Ngannou is unranked. Btw, Ngannou does not deserve to be a champion.  Simply because he has skipped all that “path to face champion”. He did not fight other contenders. And it is to late for him to do that.

I think it just carry his reputation from MMA/UFC and that's why he was able to skipped all the necessaries "path to the champion", as he is a champion on the other discipline. And boxing bodies approved of his fight to Tyson Fury, so he maybe unranked for now, but with his experienced on a similar sports, he was given that green life to be a professional boxer.

Besides, he was a star himself, could generated and put people to buy tickets and live gates and it was evident with this fight with Tyson Fury. And now he has been given this opportunity to fight Joshua and who knows, he could pull a upset here.
510  Economy / Economics / Re: Coping with Risk. on: January 30, 2024, 11:49:10 AM
We know that regardless of the prospect of any business or investment, understanding the risk involved in the business is an integral part of the consideration one should consider before venturing into the business and when it comes to bitcoin investment, it's very basic yo know that the major risk associated with it are just a few of the ones below which could either be issue relating to hacking, lost or misplaced seed phrase or possibly sending your crypto holding to the wrong address considering it irreversible nature.

In our normal business we have risk also that are damn much which could range from fire outbreak, stealing, bad market, spoilage and lots of other factor that makes starting a physical business very risky and to have high possibility of yielding great loss.

so my question is, which is more risky?

A). Running a physical business that has a whole lot of risk associated with it or

B) running an online investment with high risk of hack that could result in you loosing all your asset.

Its has both cons/pros and I don't think you can leverage physical or online business in terms of risk. For me it's how you adapt on those risk or mitigate it. For example, during the pandemic, most business went online and there are really that flourished during the pandemic, like the food business because would just order online. But now that we are back to normal, at least locally, I see those who uses to flourish that time is struggling, to the point that most of them have close their stores because the customers that used to buy them can now go out.

And definitely, the competition as well, both business are very cut-throat, unless you find a niche that hasn't been congested or less competition. But in online or even physical store, there are a lot that is competing for customers and maybe that's one aspect you have to look as well in order to survive.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 29, 2024, 10:08:15 PM

Isn't it Munguia is now the mandatory for Canelo's WBO belt?

And so he should give him a chance or at least follow and fight his mandatory. But we all know that he can choose whatever fighter he wants to fight next, he has the leverage as he is the cash-cow. But we will see, as we have noted, all roads to Canelo, to from Munguia to David Benavidez, they are all looking for that huge pay check if they will or can get a fight next year, May or September, that's usually the month/date that Canelo fight.

I really don't know If he is the Mandatory fight for Canelo Alvarez but I just saw in the news that Jaime Munguia is eyeing to fight Canelo Alvarez while Alvarez is making excuses that he doesn't want to fight a Mexican,

And the leverage that Canelo holds in the boxing world allows him the freedom to choose his opponents strategically. While fans and fellow fighters like Munguia and David Benavidez eagerly seek the opportunity to face him, it's clear that the pursuit of a significant payday is a driving factor. The anticipation for potential matchups in May or September, Canelo's usual fighting months, adds an extra layer of excitement to the boxing landscape. The coming year holds the promise of high-stakes and high-profile fights, as fighters position themselves for a chance to step into the ring with the cash cow of boxing,

Canelo earn what's his place to be right now, with all his hard work and maybe careful matching early when he was still with Golden Boy, makes him the cash cow after Manny Pacquiao left. And so like his predecessors, everyone wanted a piece of him, for this biggest payday, and even if he lost a fight against Bivol, he makes a great comeback and so the current super Middle Weight is eyeing him for that money fight.

And even governing bodies can't force him to fight his mandatory, he will fight whoever he wants as long as he thinks he can beat him and then he can also gain a lot and obviously he will be the A-side. So I'm not seeing him fighting the likes of Munguia or Benavidez, but not surprised if he will fight the other half of the Charlo twins, the supposedly original fighter that he should be facing, Jermall Charlo.
512  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Have anyone heard about a platform called Adswage? on: January 29, 2024, 09:38:57 PM
I was trying to promote affiliate marketing but I received a notification in Facebook that instead there is a platform called Adswage. It is a website where you will get paid by viewing ads, all you need is to register with them and deposit $100 to activate the account and earn money by viewing ads. There is also a telegram group but I did not join it nor did I register with this platform.

This is no longer 2005-2010, that was the hype before, you can simply watch ads and then paid. Some of those websites are dead already and if there is one that it legit, it might take sometime for you to received the reward, as if there are making it hard to withdraw to that effect.

I checked Whois that it was registered in October 17 2022 and expired on October 17, 2032 does that show the platform is legit? I suspect it is scam because the site does not have term of use or privacy policy and no contact number only email address and social media links. Upon checking the address it is in Dublin Ireland but when viewing the address via Google street view it is an address for bicycle shop.

Anyone heard of this platform. I searched in Google but could not find any info.

I don't know how you can't find it on Google, but the thing is, there's a lot of positive reviews, but I will still be skeptical, those could be paid by them in Trustpilot and other review sites. Good investigation on the Whois, anyone can easily put any address on them and looks legit. They can even fake it if they want. So it's not a way to check for authenticity.

Yeah, I didn't watch the first 3 sets (was playing football), but we sat for a drink after it and it was kinda obvious that Sinner will turn things around.
I don't know how Medvedev got 10 breeak points in the first 2 sets, I recall only 1 in the last 2 sets and that was calmly taken care off by Sinner.

I'm glad he won it, I've been telling everybody how good he actually is for the last 2-3 years. He's finally starting to show it - and he's still got room to improve. I hope he pushes Alcaraz for the no. 1 spot.
Jannik Sinner, who won his first grand slam title in this tournament, to tell you the truth, upset the tennis romantics, including me, a little bit. First he completely paralysed djokovic in the semifinals, djokovic was eliminated without even a break of serve point. His opponent in the final, Medvedev, is not from the generation of the nadal-federer-djokovic big three, but he is one of the stars of the next generation, which we can make a trio as medvedev-zverev-berrettini, and he has been playing in such finals for years. When Sinner didn't show any presence at all in the first two sets of the final match, I was in a good mood, there are still some points for him to improve, but what did this guy do; he took the next three sets and won the match. Jokes aside, it was a great success for him and I enjoy this fresh breath in tennis.

Well I guess we have to move forward already, I mean, this is the new generation of tennis players, Djokovic is one man standing for the great generations they have. But now it's very different era and so the young guns are finally taking over.

Just hard breaking lost by Medvedev, but this is how someone become a champion. They elevated their games, just like the greats, Nadal, Federer and Djokovic. And as what @aoluain said, we've seen Djokovic giving up 2 sets early and then make a great comeback. So this one is for the books and congrats to those who ride on him after being down with that great odds.

^^ This is also what Eddie Hearn was mentioning, he is willing to match Berlanga against Munguia next if his fighter will win his next fight. Him and Oscar could have problem as they have been arguing in their social media, but when their is money involved, this two might sit down and talk about the potential fight as there is money in the table for this two.

Just look at Oscar's reaction when Munguia stops John Ryder, https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cYIUVoFQHGo

He knows that he has another PPV in his hands.
516  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Island in the Philippines, Have you ever been there? on: January 28, 2024, 11:13:54 PM
I thought that current sitting President is very open to crypto and that's why the island is flourishing.
~snip~

Is the president even important in this story? I don't remember ever reading that their president makes statements on that topic, but that's not strange at all because it shouldn't be his job. This is about the fact that the law allows the use of a currency other than the domestic one for payment transactions and nothing more. Bitcoin can be successful in a country without the president or prime minister knowing anything about it, because if something is legal and brings profit, there is no reason to deal with it at the highest political levels.

Yes, maybe you are not aware how nepotism and corruption is in the Philippines, it might not be direct, but the President's men surely knows what is going on behind everything, specially for those people they have appointed. Binance for example has move to Thailand already because of Philippines hardcore stance against crypto. And if we talk about corruption and politics,

https://www.rappler.com/newsbreak/iq/bongbong-marcos-jr-presidential-campaign-donors-given-government-positions/

Quote
His top individual donor, Melquiades A. Robles, was appointed chief of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in July 2022. He contributed P30 million directly to Marcos’ campaign, based on the President’s declarations to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

And recently we have this thread: The PCSO Lotto is shrouded in doubt due to the picture of the winner shown

We might compare it to Bukele as well, that's why if I'm not mistaken he will be running again for President, although his critics says this is unconstitutional. Because he knows that maybe the next President, will be anti-Bitcoin and all the things he has done for his country will go to zero.
517  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Island in the Philippines, Have you ever been there? on: January 27, 2024, 10:32:27 PM
I wonder how come I was unaware of such things till date, this is really cool and something which will boost the usage of Bitcoin for its original purpose instead of just investment, hope more countries or atleast tourist places follow the same stuff. But, I don't think this would have much impact on economy of the country because apart from a choice of paying through decentralised way we are not offering any investment sort of thing but yeah people will spend more money as it's through Bitcoin because converting crypto to fiat and then international exchange for foreign currency is an hassle but this would resolve the hassle part.
Cause the Philippines couldn't figure out its feelings towards cryptocurrency. The previous president's a little indifferent towards bitcoin and crypto, but the current one is actively against it and we even have news surrounding lately wherein Binance is no longer going to be legally supported in our country, which means we can't reliably use cryptocurrencies anymore as a P2P option.

This indecision could be one of the biggest reason why the country never really went so far as to advertise the island as bitcoin paradise despite the countless efforts in the past to beautify and furnish it as one. Not that there's anything wrong about it but it's a clear mismanagement on the government's part, and because of this the country can't even advertise itself as a bitcoin-friendly place anymore lol.

Hopefully something could change within its systems but I really wouldn't expect much at this point. Our president came from a long line of politicians known for graft and corruption, so there's that.

I thought that current sitting President is very open to crypto and that's why the island is flourishing. Binance case might be different though, as I thought Binance wasn't able to submit all the documents needed to legalized their foothold on the Philippines.

Regardless, it could really boils down to politics indeed. Duterte might not be loved by the human rights group. But he is not anti-crypto and his government allowed Pouch to operate in Boracay. Hopefully, it doesn't mean an end to Filipino crypto enthusiast as they are one of the biggest in the region.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to win a game given to you in the dream? on: January 27, 2024, 07:01:17 PM
So what experience have you entered in your dream about gambling?
Have you ever won a game from dream?

Dream...  Grin this sounds funny when am not like Joseph the dreamer, if this had been working like this then many would have always take a nap before having their bets to receive the revelation before they start gambling at all, there are so many appro8 we take along with the way we are gambling and expect things to be like that even when the conditions isn't thesame way we expe9, I can't dream and assume that the next thing inline to do is by taking bet on what appears on my dream.

But our dreams sometimes is hard to remember when we wake up, that's why even if we have dreams about numbers and winnings, but when we wake up, it's over as the dreams are no longer there. However, there could be sensitive individuals who can remember and go back in their dreams and maybe reach out to their subconscious mind and tap it and put a bet.

But still though, it's not assurance that what we see in our dreams will happen in reality specially all about gambling. Lucky for those who have won big money because there is some kind of revelation in their dreams.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 27, 2024, 06:45:12 PM
Being addicted to gambling can be a thorn in the flesh. We have heard many bad behavior from gambling addicts that shows that gambling is a serious concern requiring serious efforts at curbing it. Many casinos also include in their disclaimer "gamble responsibly" and this shows the danger of gambling addiction.

However, I'm wondering if addiction can make someone become aggressive to the point of leading to domestic violence. Has there been any known case of it happening? Lets know what you have to say.

Not all addict but there could be cases too of domestic violence from gambling addiction. I think it's well documented for all addiction specially drugs. It might be subtle effect though, but still it could lead for lets say to abuse their spouses and put the blame on them as we don't know what extend a addicted gambler will do if they lose a game. So it's very dangerous effect, but I do hope that no one here from our community specially physical abuse as might have a worst result.

It's serious and unacceptable violation of human rights, specially if you did it to your wife or even to your children who has nothing to do with your losing money, and thus venting and being aggressive to them.
520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 27, 2024, 10:08:04 AM

Both weigh-in below 168 lbs, Munguia and Ryder at 167.8 lbs, but it's good to see them making the weight.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJAY-koXMCw

Munguia though looks fresh maybe because of his youth, but he is still the favorite in this fight. I wanted to see Munguia vs Berlanga though, I mean this two has been calling each other for quite sometime now and they are young that's why this fight is going to be equal though.

But let's see if Jaime can pass his big test against Ryder first.

It's their handler who brings fight for them they are just following the demands of promoters to make sure that there's audiences that will watch and bet for the fight, we don't know what are the plans but Munguia needs to win this and create a good hype to his name to call for a much bigger fight,

though like you mentioned this is a big test for him and Ryder will not waste also his opportunity to regain his name and climb back.

If I'm not mistaken, it's a strategic partnership between Zanfer Promotions and GBP. So we might say that he has been protected specially by GBP, and so there could be hype on Jaime as early as 2019. But then again, pandemic and so all the plans have been derailed.

However, we all know what all this fighters are looking for, a big payday against Canelo Alvarez. And I think Oscar wanted him to fight Canelo, but we will have to wait because he will have a bigger fighter to test in Ryder. And then after that, him and Berlanga as well, back and forth trash talking between this two young prospects specially with Berlanga was still with Top Rank, now he is under Match Room which might take negotiations difficult as Oscar and Eddie Hearn has some verbal toss as well.
