Sheffs are positioned as 9th on table with (W3,D3,L3) not top of the table. You might wanna say entered top 10 on the table. So far going good for them.

Edited. You're right, I meant to say top half of the table.

[Arsenal only made Sheffield looks better,  Sheffield had been defeated at home by Southampton, Sunderland and Liverpool this season

I don't know how much expectations you had, buy they are having a pretty decent start to the season by their standards. They are always the underdogs against the top six teams, but if they can hold their own against majority of the mid table and bottom teams, while stealing points from the big dogs, like they did against arsenal, then they have a good chance at staying in the premier league

...If not, it will be pretty difficult, if not impossible, to prove that the account is yours.

AFAIK, they both serve as alternatives. Signing an address related to the account proves that the account truly belongs to the said user, in the absence of this, the email (ideally, the original one the account y was registered with) can be used to prove ownership of the account. The inability to provide any of this information, makes it almost impossible to prove ownership of an account.

In the meantime, you could create a flag, or request a DT member to leave a negative feedback warning others that the account has been compromised, as in cases like these, the account can be used to send unsolicited/malicious PMs to other users.

Sheffield United are proving to be the surprise package of the season. And currently sit in the top half of the table. They have also conceded the least goals (7, alongside league leaders Liverpool) and they handed Arsenal only their second loss of the season (the only other team to have done that? Liverpool)
Their primary objective would have been to avoid relegation, but they may be aiming higher now and fancying a top 10 finish
5084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: October 22, 2019, 06:58:49 AM
Inter Milan lost yesterday's match against Barcelona. Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte is trying his best to keep winning against Dortmund tomorrow.
Last UCL match day rather, it's been weeks since we have champions league football. And in that fixture Inter Milan played incredibly and Conte's brand of football was on display. Their match against Dortmund is a must win if they are going to keep their chances of qualification alive. I would be betting on lots of goals, probably over 2.5
5085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 20, 2019, 01:21:25 PM
Either that comment motivates Liverpool players to absolutely obliterate Man Utd later today, or it'll get Liverpool players so fired up that they'll go all-out attack and Man Utd wins the game with counter-attacks.
I saw the comments earlier and I immediately thought, 'mind games'. Kloop is an experienced coach and as such I expect he would try to negate the effect such comments has on his team rather than try to use it as extra motivation. They are too of the league, way above Manchester United, they do not need extra motivation.
They need to keep their heads down and take the season a game at a time.
5086  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary Satoshi... on: October 19, 2019, 01:57:24 PM
This may sound strange, but theymos may use the Satoshi account to trick people into the tenth anniversary of the forum.

I highly doubt he would do this. And why trick people on the tenth anniversary of bitcointalk? We're six months away from April. Theymos has previously stated that he has not read satoshi's PMs even though he has access to the information. Breaching his account would be a breach of privacy, hardly something to do as a prank.
I don't read PMs for fun. Very very rarely, I need to read PMs for technical, administrative, or legal reasons, but I try to avoid this as much as possible. I don't want to spy on anyone's personal business.

obviously lol, i bet the first thing theymos did when he became admin was to read satoshi's pms.

I've never read Satoshi's PMs.
5087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: October 19, 2019, 01:40:02 PM
Real will get the position back in this evening LOL

That's why I think the postponement of the El classico favoured real Madrid more than it did Barcelona. The Catalans are getting back in the groove and recovering from their injury worse earlier in the season.
While Madrid are giving their top players a rest, with Bale, Modric and Kroos out of the first eleven and Hazard out of the match squad, rumour has it he just got a new baby.
5088  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get rid of this spam junk on: October 19, 2019, 01:14:21 PM
If I attempt at rephrasing; you're suggesting that a project cannot be a scam if the developers invest into it to get the custom token listed, and not attract enough investors to make the project profitable.

Is this all? Or there more layers to this field.
Yes, i think there are more layers to it. The major objective of scammers is to make profit and to do that, they would try to make the project look as legitimate as possible on the surface, and listing on a reputed exchange could be part of the cover, and hence exchanges sometimes delist certain currencies from it's platform, https://www.theblockcrypto.com/linked/11879/binance-delists-five-projects-including-salt-lending

If there is no enough crowd to get chooped then the spammer won't be able to invest to create a spam project, right?
The spam project is already created before seeking out investors.
5089  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't run for merits! on: October 19, 2019, 08:07:11 AM
It would be better if we have more threads on "how to write high quality posts" than thread on "how to earn merits".
But merits is the catch and it was intended to be, and motivate users to make more constructive contributions.
I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.
Aside merit begging or plagiarism, putting in efforts at making posts which are helpful and relevant for the purpose of getting merits is not a bad ideology and I would encourage it.
5090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 19, 2019, 07:43:27 AM
Everton versus Westham is also a tie I am looking forward to. Both teams have shown glimpses of brilliance this season. Westham have been more consistent and organized, while Everton has orchestrated their own failures most of the time, but yet that still have a squad which can easily roll into the top half of the table and potentially a top six finish.
It's still relatively early in the season and despite the current gap between both teams, a victory for everyone would close the gap to 2 points.
5091  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie Welcome video on: October 19, 2019, 07:29:40 AM
To get around the length of the video, you (viewers) could increase the playback speed. It's an option available on the YouTube drop-down icon. It is difficult to follow the first time, but you get used to it with time. You can equally use it on other videos you watch on YouTube.
A welcome video is a good idea and doesn't require as much attention as a read would.
5092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: October 18, 2019, 07:31:24 PM
Although conducive in Catalunya and the Spanish government has sentenced several masterminds, the El Clasico match was postponed until December, although I expected no cancellation for the Madrid vs Barcelona match this week, but it was a decision RFEF wait until December.

Nested quotes like the one you contributed to above makes a thread cloggy and quite untidy. My quoting style is to include only the post which I am immediately referring to. Other members can read through the thread to get the full discussion.

The El classico being moved could be a political decision. But it's a good thing for one man; Dembele. His suspension meant he would have surely been missing the time but, he would now be available for the new date, barring any injuries or suspensions.
5093  Other / Meta / Re: Epochtalk Media Campaign. Twitter, Facebook, etc. on: October 18, 2019, 08:51:31 AM
well while using the platform for free to make profit you need to contribute to in some way.

While most of the members here are profits motivated, I would say a large percentage are unaware of the status of epochtalk, and some that are do not know how they can help and/or the challenges that are being faced.
Promoting it here on BT is more primary that doing that in other social media platforms in my opinion.
5094  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest on: October 18, 2019, 08:42:58 AM
Hi, I am not very able to draw, but in gratitude to the forum and in honor of its anniversary, I decided to write a short essay...

Writing is indeed an art, and one which I rate very high. But theymos specifically pointed out that this contest is to give more attention to contents that are not text-based.
Being primarily a text-based forum, it's not surprising that there hasn't been much original bitcointalk.org art

I did enjoy your essay and the use of words, and hope it does get attention. I may personally consider writing just for the fun of it, or create an art design.
5095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 17, 2019, 04:36:18 PM
58% chance of Liverpool winning the match. History is only history, now it is proof and break the record. With Liverpool's condition being on fire, Liverpool's victory will be huge.

Liverpool are surely big favourites and I would give them a higher percentage to grab all points owing to injury list of Manchester United. Ole's job is hanging by a thread and a loss to their huge rivals could be the final straw. Although Klopp may have to properly manage his squad which is fresh off the international break and a UCL fixture immediately followed by a EPL match against Tottenham. The matches would be coming thick and fast as we get closer to the Christmas period
5096  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is posting a contest allowed? on: October 17, 2019, 04:27:29 PM
actually our token is already traded on bw.com https://www.bw.com/newTrade/spotTradding/lit_usdt
but its pretty new yet

surely we will do it. Just wanted to check it out first. Maybe someone receives tokens as well.

It is better to edit any subsequent reply after you've posted on a thread into the first one. Posting consecutively on a thread is not allowed.

You need a service and for this you do not need a contest. On the service board lots of users are available to design signatures and they have samples of their work on display and some also show their price range. Look for the one that suits your requirements and reach out to them.
5097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]:Crawford vs. Kavaliauskas on: October 17, 2019, 08:37:37 AM
Kavaliauskas wasn't too convincing in his last outing which ended in a draw by majority decision. But both boxers go into this fight undefeated. Crawford would almost certainly be the favorite to win this bout. But with the strings of surprises we've had this year, he would need to take the gloves off, and prepare adequately for his opponent.
5098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 17, 2019, 08:27:42 AM
If Liverpool gets all three points at Old Trafford, they would be equal the record for the best start to a season with 9 victories. The record is currently held by Jose Mourinho's Chelsea of 2005/06. They would also hit a record run of 18 straight wins between last season and this, equal with Manchester City.
With this run of form, it would take an incredible dip for then to lose their grip at the top of the table.

However there is a little bit of history for Manchester United to be excited about; Jurgen Klopp has never beaten the Red Devils at home.
5099  Other / Meta / Re: Which rank can we trust really? on: October 17, 2019, 08:08:19 AM
Trust is not dependent on ranks. The rank of a profile is dependent on the number of merits earned and the period of time the user has been active on the forum.
A user needs to be constructive in their discussions to increase their rank, but that does not make them trustworthy. I would be more interested in the amount of time they have been active on the forum and their general disposition and interactions.

If I'm you directly answer the question in the title; Never trust someone easily, regardless of the rank or trust score. Always have your reservations, especially if you are going into financial dealings with the said account.
5100  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 9 Best Decentralized Exchanges which You Can Use To Trade on: October 16, 2019, 10:58:05 AM
I have not actively used a decentralized exchange for a while and I'm unfamiliar with most of the websites in the list. I used to use IDEX, DDEX, IDAX and forkdelta regularly and barring the inconveniences I found then secure.

The best way to protect your assets is to not store them on an address you do not control, only have them on an exchange when you're actively trading. It's almost impossible to avoid centralized exchanges, especially when you're looking for liquidity.
