Can the tennis season still be saved this year or is the tennis story over this year?
Seems that the tennis tournament this year will be ending on the sad note. Only few have remained in the schedule but most likely they will also be cancelled as the pandemic is not slowing down. I guess we can't do anything but to wait till next year, but it the conditions didn't improve or worsen then I don't expect tournaments to resume, specially Grand slams. This pandemic has ruined the world and our lives thanks to China. Every other sporting event is either getting cancelled or postponed. I do not know how many more days, months and years we need to live our lives like this. I hope scientists find a vaccine to eradicate this disease from earth as soon as possible. |

Windies team will be hoping for the weather to help them in this test match. Also this performance of windies team is not something new. They are not one of the best teams while England is the world champs, so this performance of windies is expected. I don't understand why people hope good performance by the lowest rating team.
I don't think the weather can help the WI as we saw in the last test match it didn't save them. England are in a strong position right now and I think we'll see England bowl them out for less then 200 and England will bat again and put it out of reach for the WI. Its a shame that the WI team can't handle the pressure which is what lets them down a lot of the time. After the first test match it was looking like it could be a good even series but that all changed and now its just one sided. The West Indies are trailing by 232 runs and they have already lost 6 wickets, which means they have lost most of their prominent batsmen. I do not think it is possible for them to come back but the weather can still play its part. Going with the 4 seam bowlers have till now proved to be good decision for England since all have contributed with the ball. WI need another 32 runs to avoid follow on and 4 wickets left. It would be interesting to see if England can impose follow on WI or will they decide to come to bat again even if they get them all out before follow on. Its just 32 runs, I do not think that would be a problem for West Indies. They still have few wickets in hand. they only need to stick to the pitch and they will easily overcome the follow on. |

I doubt if Stokes going to surpass Jacques Kallis even on batting, let alone Sobers. If he's focusing on only Test/ODI then there is some chance that he could play longer and come close to them but again their Test batting average is above 55 and Stokes is still under 40 average.
He always perform in big games tho, which is commendable. Ben Stokes will be in the class of Ian Botham and Andrew Flintoff and he could become the best all rounder England ever produced and it is a big shoe to fill considering i always felt Andrew Flintoff did not explore his full potential and the main reason is injuries and the performance in the 2005 Ashes where Flintoff was touching around 150 km/hr bowling deadly spells and scoring runs like he owns the pitch was a sight in itself. England have come back strongly after the start they had got it and if they can manage to survive without a wicket in last 5 overs of the day that will be a good thing. Let us see if Ollie can complete his century today or not. I am sure Ollie will be able to score his hundred, he only needs 9 runs more. The matches may be held at the same ground. But there is a chance that different set of pitches are used for them. As far as I know, most of the grounds have 2-3 pitches and the curator usually prepare 1-2 additional pitches in addition to the main one. If that is the case, then the concern about the surface deterioration doesn't make any sense. I am not talking about the deterioration, imagine the pitches were too close to each other so infield players will walk and run over their while fielding which could do some damage to it so it may not act like a fresh pitch even though players were batting on different pitches. I am sure they will be taken care of by the ground stuff. Good thing is that the matches are still happening at a time when most matches are getting cancelled. |

Wow, one month festival, never thought that a festival could last one month as i am accustomed to Carnevale, Pasquetta and Christmas, but the matches in IPL just last around 3 to 4 hours and they can stack the day with the rest of the programs as the matches actually takes place at night. I really enjoy participating in these events rather than watching it in television. I read the wiki page but i am more confused now as it says it is a festival of several other religion.
Festivals in India are usually celebrated for several days to weeks. Diwali isn't a month long festival. It lasts for a couple of days and people around the world call it the festival of lights due to the epic fireworks basically which is why people from different religions participate in it. Certain festivals last for a couple of weeks though. 3rd world countries like India go big on festivals primarily during the 2nd half of the year. Diwali plus IPL basically equals fireworks! Yeah you are right festivals are big in India. This time it will be double bonanza, the regular festival and at last IPL 2020 and for a month staying at home will be fruitful. |
