5161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Who should Ryan Garcia fight? on: July 09, 2020, 02:43:02 AM
I reckon that the most entertaining fight for the fans might be Ryan Garcia versus Gervonta Davis. They are undefeated and the students of great virtuosos of boxing. Canelo and Floyd Mayweather.
5162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: July 09, 2020, 02:07:33 AM
However, if the reason is money, I reckon the NFL might not make money without opening the stadiums to the people. Dana White of the UFC has said that they are spending more for expenditures for their events today than before the coronavirus.

In any case, you are correct! There must be an NFL season hehehehe!
5163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: July 08, 2020, 06:57:18 AM
Patrick Mahomes signed a new little contract, which makes him halfway through a billionaire, the highest paid athlete ever and the first NFL player to lead this category.
Couldn't believe my eyes ( Shocked ) when I saw the news. This is probably deserved all things considered, but also just out of this world. I like it though, since Mahomes is exciting to watch and Reid the right guy to even develop him further as the offensive genius he is.

Regarding the preseason schedule, the NFLPA has voted to skip it entirely, while the NFL is more thinking about cutting it down to two games for this season. As much as I dislike preseason, I think going into competition with no preseason is not a good idea. There is a huge difference between practice vs competition and the preseason is something inbetween, which also helps a bit with player safety and getting your body/muscles/mind more match fit. If we go from practice straight into regular season, we will see some pretty strange and random results I guess - and probably more injuries.

However, what are the chances that there might not be a 2020 season for the NFL, also the NBA and others? Coronavirus cases are still rising in America, riots and protests are keeping people afraid and many speculate that the election on November might end in a civil war.
5164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: July 08, 2020, 06:43:34 AM
@Febo. However, this might be a problem. If holding bitcoin makes you more and makes you to purchase more goods and items, why would people in the cryptospace join to buy and hold Grin?

I reckon distribution of inflated grins as widely as possible across all types of people might also be a problem. Miners certainly would only dump them.

I created a tether Big Short thread, however, when reading all the replies from respected members of this forum, it appears that some of them are in denial. Bitfinex, Ifinex and Tether might also be only shell companies.

@bigslimvdum. Where can we get the latest list of remote public nodes? This thread announcement should be updated. We do not want useless problems similar to anshulinpc.

Also, bad news. AEON.to stopped serving orders 11 days ago.

We’re sorry to announce that we will have to stop serving orders today. We believe that Aeon may have a promising future, however a service like AEON.to is not financially viable yet.

Let us begin accepting the classification of bitcoin as another type of fiat money if the regulators also begin to accept bitcoin as also another type of currency hehehehe.
5168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: July 07, 2020, 02:46:21 AM
trump will win its not about poitics. I made a killing last year on trump. Its really simple electoral college is made for trump and states that trump needs to win he will because not enough demcratc will come out and vote in those states and trump supports will always comes out. They dont support republcains they support trump

Once again, you guys are assuming that what happened in 2016 would repeat in 2020. That is not going to happen, and we saw that during the 2018 senate elections. Even states which were once considered as Republican strongholds, such as Arizona ended up electing Democrat senators. The reading on the wall is loud and clear. Trump was relatively unknown in 2016, and it worked to his advantage. But now people have realized that he is as bad as anyone out there.

I reckon that there might be many patriotic Americans who are not political but would vote for Trump because they dislike the fringe extreme leftists who riot and tear down historical statues. Do not underestimate how many those type of voters are.

Also, Trump has a strong voter base that would never leave him.

Finally, I was able to connect using a remote node and deposit and withdraw successfully.
Thank you all for your help.

It is still concerning that your local node couldn't start synchronizing. Also, relying on a remote node run by someone you don't know is not recommended. To check whether this problem is Aeon-specific or not, please try running Monero's daemon (https://github.com/monero-project/monero/releases) and see if it starts synchronizing.

Monero has no problems. The problem is only with the coinsmiths who cogged the source, codebase, pretty much everything there was to cog, and called it aeon. I will be looking in to the code to find the faulting part. First, I will dissect, maybe vivisect it like a living organism. After that tests will be run as a means to check whether the thing u dread is in there.

You will turn into a 100 year old man before finding the faulting part in the code hehehe. Also, in case you were not aware of this, Aeon's developers consists of smooth, Monero lead developer and stoffu, member of Monero's research laboratory.

Play somewhere else little man.

@BTCWALK. Nice story. Every year there is always a new who is Satoshi Nakamoto story. This might be one of the very best because it has Pablo Escobar and a possibility that Satoshi loved cocaine hehehehe. I am saving my merits, however. Thank you. Share another one next year hehe.

5171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Compound exploit allows users to 4x their capital—using their borrowed amounts on: July 07, 2020, 01:02:20 AM
This appears to be a DAO 2.0. A smart contract that is functioning as it was programmed to be, however, coded with a loophole where someone can use to cheat the program.

However, is it cheating if it is functioning in the purpose it was programmed to? The question of the DAO.

Robert Leshner, founder of Compound

An exploit on Compound is allowing users to leverage their initial capital multifold, creating more Compound DAI than real DAI, and a situation that some are terming impossible.

This is not a security lapse or bug in the Compound protocol, but a sneaky loophole that makes borrowing against borrowed collateral possible.

DeversiFi COO Daniel Yanev noted on a tweet Friday that on-chain DAI was just 108 million, compared to Compound DAI that’s more than 3x the value:

Thread commentator @degenspartan explained the situation arises as a user immediately deposits the DAI they borrow “which becomes collateral so [they] can borrow more DAI,” which in turn, can be further pooled to gain collateral on.

5172  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-07-06] 4th Amendment Does Not Protect Bitcoin Data, 5th Circuit Court Rule on: July 07, 2020, 12:35:18 AM
On a side note, this part of news is quite controversial
The other two judges agreed with Haynes, and the court noted that unlike cellphone data, bitcoin transactions are not “an intimate window into a person’s life.” The panel also highlighted that cryptocurrency transaction data was not a “pervasive or insistent part of daily life.” Of course, even though the case is controversial, bitcoiners are unsure of how the case will affect other U.S. lawsuits going forward.
Image if you're doing something that could be controversial such as donation to non-profit organization. People would criticize or even terror you if you're forced to give up your bitcoin "data" and government publicize analysis result of the data.

don't use your coinbase account to participate in controversial (or certainly illegal) activities---that's the long and short of it. coinbase and other exchanges are essentially banks. that was actually part of the basis for this ruling. the 4th amendment does not protect banking records.

this ruling doesn't apply to your personal bitcoin transactions, and unless the government has cause to bring litigation against you (for example, the nonprofits you are donating to are classified as terrorist organizations) facts like that wouldn't come out in open court anyway.

Also, with or without a 4th amendment, when the government knocks on their doors and pressures them to comply or else a takedown, I reckon it always ends in compliance that sacrifices some of its customers to save the business.

In chess it is known as the gambit hehehe.
5173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: July 06, 2020, 05:29:31 AM
I would never ever bet against Trump on any election. Dude shouldn't even be the president right now, he has absolutely no qualifications that makes him a good president but he gave a great lesson to American public by becoming president, that you can be anything you want as long as you are willing to get dirty and have powerful connections.

Plus, we now know that America is not really ruled by the president but more like senate, if the senate doesn't want president do to something they can stop him, who can stop the senate? Not really much.

There was even impeachment where congress found Trump guilty, that is their job to see if he is really guilty or not and when the impeachment was on senate it was already decided that he was guilty. What happened? Senate decided not to do anything about it and not give him a punishment. I hate trump as much as the next guy but I wouldn't put money on him losing between all of this horrible things he is capable of doing.

It appears that you are not familiar with government and the division of power. All government power was never on the president. All power is divided to the executive, legislative and the judiciary branches. A president is not a dictator.

In any case, the official campaign has not begun. The Democrats should be careful that Biden does not climax early hehehehe. This might give Trump time to improve on the polls and win again.

@STT. The electoral college is not a group of random people. It is an electoral body established by the constitution.

5175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Money Reimagined: Ethereum’s Renaissance Creates an Opportunity on: July 06, 2020, 04:03:24 AM
It appears that the regulators of 3rd world countries are also learning of the ponzi scheme scam dapps running on Ethereum hehe.

Also, the question I asked also remains unanswered. Would Ethereum be considered to have more utility than bitcoin if much of the activity on Ethereum is on a speculative ponzi scheme smart contract?

A gas-guzzling Ethereum dapp that accounts for 25% of activity on Ethereum network has been denounced as a potential Ponzi scheme by the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commision.

An announcement from its SEC on June 30 advised users of the dapp in question, Forsage, to stop using it immediately, and demanded that the owner officially register with the commission.

Forsage describes itself as a “fully decentralized matrix marketing project,” and, “the most thought-out marketing of this type.” However, it features many of the typical hallmarks of a multi-level marketing scheme.

5176  Bitcoin / Press / [2020-07-06] 4th Amendment Does Not Protect Bitcoin Data, 5th Circuit Court Rule on: July 06, 2020, 03:21:48 AM
There is a lesson here for criminals hehehe. Never use Coinbase or any exchange or any bitcoin centralized service to make payments directly to a child pornography website. Are you stupid?

According to the ruling of a three-judge panel from the Fifth Circuit courts, the American government’s Fourth Amendment does not apply to bitcoin transactions used in a crime if they stem from virtual currency exchanges. Richard Gratkowski was charged with allegedly making payments to a child pornography website, and sent bitcoin (BTC) to the web portal via his Coinbase account.

Specifically, Gratkowski leveraged the 2018 Supreme Court ruling from Carpenter v. the United States. That particular case deemed cellphone data was personal and protected by Fourth Amendment protections.

However, Judge Catharina Haynes used an old Supreme Court decision from 1939 called the United States v. Miller. That particular ruling said that bank records are not protected by the Fourth Amendment. Judge Haynes ruled:

Coinbase is a financial institution, a virtual currency exchange, that provides Bitcoin users with a method for transferring bitcoin. The main difference between Coinbase and traditional banks, which were at issue in Miller, is that Coinbase deals with virtual currency while traditional banks deal with physical currency.

I speculate that this might be a political move by the people behind the Trump administration. They will make a deal and make her talk about the top Democrats who might have used Jeffrey Epstein's services hehehe.

Ghislaine is also a supporter of Hillary and Democrats where she has made a donation.

This might be the scandal of the year and destroy Biden's campaign.

While Ghislaine Maxwell’s arrest Thursday in relation to her confidant Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes answered some questions about her life – revealing, for example, that she hid at a sprawling, million-dollar New Hampshire estate, where she was picked up in a morning raid – still more questions arose about what’s next for the mysterious British socialite.

As she sits in custody, at the top of many minds was whether Maxwell – long accused of grooming underage victims for Epstein – will cooperate with prosecutors.

Edit:  Still..  Sucks with Burns out and Khabib's dad.  You guys think Khabib's really gonna retire?

Khabib was very close to father. I reckon it has destroyed all of his desire to fight again. However, he might also have a farewell fight and similar to the show from anger that he created after his fight versus Conor, I also speculate that Khabib might make a speech that Xi Jinping might not like hehehehehe.

Also, Dana is a Trump supporter. He will approve of this storyboard hehehe.
5179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the market saturated with too many stablecoins? on: July 05, 2020, 02:08:21 AM
The market is saturated with not only stable coins, also defi stable coins! This is similar to the market's saturation with ICO tokens on 2017, I reckon and this might lead to a mass extinction of altcoins.

5180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brave browser CEO apologizes for automatically adding affiliate links to cryptoc on: July 05, 2020, 01:37:14 AM
There isn't really anything malicious here in the article though, it doesn't categorized cryptocurrency as evil either. But it was really huge to see that a browser that blocks ads and prevent tracks are themselves putting ads and tracking users using an affiliate link. Maybe it wasn't suppose to work that way? maybe there was a bug in their code?

You should read the article. The development team of Brave placed their affiliate link to profit from their users without informing them. This is a behavior similar to scammers.
