521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: December 20, 2023, 03:58:38 AM
Sadly, I think above discussions about "hotness of issue" will decide winner for best actress. I'm Asian but last year's Oscar winner for best film was not deserving. I liked the movie but I think it won because it was Asian. Same as best actress. Michelle Yeoh did way better in old films but anyway. I guess I don't need to be afraid of offending anyone since I'm self-offending lol.

I disagree on your hotness issue argument. Similar to what you have speculated, Michelle Yeoh only won as the best actress because she is Asian. It might be again the same argument after the official announcement of each category if Lily Gladstone becomes the most favored nominee. She is an America native and she will be the first in history to win an oscar award for beat actress. The people behind the woke agenda might bribe and try to make this a reality, I reckon.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Elizabeth Warren says she’s building an anti-crypto army in new campaign on: December 20, 2023, 03:31:35 AM
News update.

If there are people in this forum who do not believe that there are corporate interests that are conspiring with politicians to ban bitcoin, this speech proves that it is not only a conspiracy theory. The congressmen and senators you vote into office do not work for you. They work for the real rulers. Also, very much similar to what has been said before, they want more and they want very little for you.

BREAKING: Co-sponsor of Elizabeth Warren’s “#Bitcoin Ban Bill” admits the bankers helped Warren write the bill.

523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 20, 2023, 02:16:49 AM

So far Parker 5:1 underdog against Wilder. Otto Wallin, almost 4:1 underdog. So that speaks that this is just a confidence boosting match.

With those odds, it seems like an easy fight for Wilder. The thing is, when Wilder struggles against his opponents, he tends to lose, and that has only happened against Fury. So, against Parker, I believe it could be an easy KO for Wilder. Despite being defeated by Fury, Wilder is making a comeback, and if he continues to improve his ranking, there's a good chance he'll make a strong return.

Looking ahead to Fury vs. Usyk, if Fury wins, both AJ and Wilder might be forced to fight the champion for another shot. If that happens, fans might not be as excited, given Wilder's previous losses to Fury. However, against AJ, it could be different as we haven't seen him fight Fury. Yet, according to the books, AJ appears to be an easy target for Fury. These are just possibilities for the future, so for more exciting bouts in the heavyweight division, let's hope Usyk can beat Fury, as things could become uncertain against AJ or Wilder.

The fans will certainly  also want Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua if they win on their own fights against Parker and Wallin hehehe. Make the winner of this challenge the champion. This will also hype their names and it will make them more deserving to challenge for the heavyweight championship.

Also, if Fury wins against Usyk, it would be boring to see another Fury vs. Wilder fight. A Fury vs. Joshua fight might also not be very exciting for the fans because Joshua lost to Usyk twice already.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: December 20, 2023, 01:47:46 AM
The Biden bannered team have already lost unless something huge unforseen event happens on the US politics.
Legally not allowing Trump to run was a good idea but they don't seem to have same level of influence on judiciary as they have on media.

Most likely, the republican party will win next election, but it will not be Trump. Nobody likes him anymore, not even Republicans. Only deranged trolls on X support him nowadays.

The fact is that he's not even in the primaries and taking part in any debates, and refuses to sign allegiance to the Republican party unlike all the other candidates.

Quote
Another large loss to the hegemony was the buying of Twitter by Musk. Musk has said he'd remain neutral and when there's no Twitter to feed the propoganda, it's hard for the establishment to remain in power. Trump is the safe bet for now.

It certainly does not look like X is staying neutral in any of this but I will leave that thought in the closet.

If no one wants Trump anymore, why is he the leading GOP presidential nominee according to surveys among Republicans? Also, you say that the Republicans will win the election, however, it will certainly be very difficult if Trump was not the running candidate. I would speculate that they will lose without Trump.

Also, has the primaries started already? The thread creator should post them.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Attack on Bitcoin’ Claims Circulate as Transaction Fees Climb Higher on: December 20, 2023, 12:36:25 AM
Months past and clealry this is still seen as an issue. And correct me if I were wrong but I don’t think Ordinals is doing that much of an impact to network congestion at this point, cause surprise surprise, NFTs are effectively dead. Now this either means that there’s something else afoot causing all this unnecessary traffic and high transaction fees over long wait times, or scalability is already becoming a more prevlanet problem in the bitcoin network than what we have expected. Perhaps this is the blocksize war biting our asses back with twice the PSI

I am unsure of precise difference between ordinals and brc20 but, these two combined have congested the network. There plenty brc20 tokens are popping up these days, and on the first glance they look literal shitcoins but people are printing money, exchanges are listing them.

It's hype of these tokens that's congesting the network, we have seen similar happening on ethereum.

NFT hype may have toned down, they are certainly not dead.

Quote
Now what do we do in this situation? Do we just wait? Do we ban Ordinals so they can’t contribute to the traffic any longer? What’s in place to make sure that even temporarily we have this be taken care of?

I wouldn't honestly ban them (however you do it, idk), I feel like it's running away from the problem (that's Bitcoin's inability to handle larger amount of transactions) than solving it.

Agreed on NFTs are not dead. Anyone who mentions that they are dead appears to have not made their research. They only need to look the price of a Cryptopunk on opensea.io.

In any case, on BRC20, it is a token standard that uses ordinals inscriptions. Similar to how images are inscribed to a satoshi for ordinals NFT, on BRC20 a json file is inscribed.

Why it would be cancelled bro, you think I start to be scared of losing against you? Angry LOL I'm kidding of course Cheesy
Before giving you my address I want to sum up things in order to avoid any future boring contentious disputes about the agreement.

So do you agree with this :

If Sandra Hüller wins, you will receive 6.5mbtc + 1mbtc from your stake
If Lily Gladstone wins, you won't receive anything I'll keep your 1mbtc
If Sandra Hüller is not nominated but Emma Stone(your jocker) wins, you will receive 1mbtc + 1mbtc
If Sandra Hüller is not nominated and any other actress than Emma Stone (and Lily Gladstone) wins, you will receive 1mbtc(your stake back)
If Sandra Hüller is nominated and Emma Stone wins or any other actress (except Lily Gladstone), you will receive 1mbtc(your stake back)

Are you ok with that bro?

Why would anyone assume that you were scared? Your Lily Gladstone is very much praised by the critics, she is the predicited winner for best actress and you are the escrow for this bet. I should be the one who should be afraid hehhehehe.

In any case, yes I agree. Your latest proposal is only a repitition of the original proposal that I have discussed with you.

Send address and I will send you 1mbtc as soon as the fees are low. I will use my campaign payment for the bet to show that I have received the coins from the manager and sent coins to you.
Ok dude, here is my address for your 1mbtc stake : bc1q8rsz94pfk32x6ukrxkq7hh74trfunla6evy53m
Unfortunately mining fees have lowered since yesterday but they're still high. I hope you will be able to send the amount before 23th January, day of the Oscar Nominations Announcement though. If the transaction hasn't been mined before this day it's not a problem as long as it had been sent.

I am quite certain the fees will be low before January 23. I already have the incoming transaction for me waiting to be confirmed. I will send 1mbtc to you immediately once the coins are confirmed and available.

@Rikafip. Have you watched Killers of the Flower Moon already?

Also, anyone who has watched Poor Things, please no spoilers and no hype. I might want my expectations to be low to like the movie hehehehe.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 19, 2023, 04:30:49 AM
If this is really Tee Higgins' mother, no one should mention anything bad about her son in social media heheeheheh.

Kind of weird timing tweeting this when it was Higgins best week of the year.

I shared it because it was a funny tweet from his mother hehe.

Similar to @nutildah, I also say congratulations to everyone who entered the the playoff! I reckon everyone will play again next year?

Also, @DireWolfM14! Good prediction on the Seahawks. On the 1st half, I thought the Eagles would win. However, the 3rd quarter was where it began to change for the Seahawks. It appears if the Eagles continue to have these performances, the king of the NFC will be decided by 49ers and the Cowboys.
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jpg monkeys are making the fees impossible? Just use a meme coin! on: December 19, 2023, 03:14:42 AM
That's common sense. When fees are high, people don't use Bitcoin for transactions. I'm not surprised that DOGE is used more during busy times as DOGE is the most used crypto-currency for small transactions, I do the same as well. Why would I pay 12-15$ for a small tx while I have an opportunity to send the same amount just for 50 cents? Last time I had to pay over 60$ fee for a Bitcoin transaction I still can't forget.

However, is using dogecoin the acceptable solution for the holders of bitcoin? What real value would bitcoin presently have if bitcoiners need to dump their bitcoins to buy dogecoins?

Also, is this a statement telling everyone that the bitcoin maximalists are making a mistake by not adopting other coins?
529  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Stablecoins are killing payment systems on: December 19, 2023, 02:15:12 AM
At this rate, in 5 years the whole world will be using stablecoins instead of payment systems.

I think stable coins are amazing for people who live in developing countries, where fiat is much worse than usd or euro.

as you mentioned they are making "significantly easier for people and businesses to move, store and own " usd around the world.

However, I don't see their adoption growing that fast in the past years. Credit cards are still the number one option for me when paying something with fiat currencies.

After the ban on cryptospace exchanges, miners and payment processors in China, there were rumors that stablecoins were the preferred way to get underground inflows and outflows in and out of the cryptospace. Chinese citizens would go near the borders of Hong Kong and buy stablecoins held in hardware wallets with Yuan at high prices.

Also, it should not be a shock if America secretly is supporting US dollar stablecoins because it dollarizes the cryptospace and developing countries more easily.
530  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: This might become a very important legal precedent for SEC vs. Coinbase on: December 19, 2023, 01:46:25 AM
News update and it appears this time instead of the SEC filing a case against the cryptospace, it is the cryptospace filing a case against the SEC hehehehe. Through this case, the whole cryptospace might find both a precedent and legal clarity.

Also, the skeptical me thinks that there might be a plan being created to impeach uncle Gary out of office because of incompetence. It would not be very shocking for me if there is a conspiracy and the real person behind this is Larry Fink of Blackrock hehehe.

Crypto exchange Coinbase has filed a lawsuit against the SEC following the denial of transparent crypto regulation. The US Securities and Exchange Commission officially denied Coinbase’s petition request for more transparent crypto rules and regulations earlier Friday.

Paul Grewal, Coinbase’s Chief Legal Officer, shared the opening of the lawsuit on X. “Promise made, promise kept,” Grewal says in the post. “We are now on file with Third Circuit to challenge the SEC’s arbitrary and capricious denial of our petition for crypto rulemaking.”

531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: December 18, 2023, 08:41:50 AM
Out of the 12 recent polls listed on RealClearPolitics, Donald Trump is leading in 11 polls, while Joe Biden is leading on one from Economist/YouGov. On average, Trump has a lead of +2.4%. This is an all-time high for Trump, ever since he joined active politics in 2016. The border situation will result in a Democrat wipeout in 2024, if there are no drastic changes. When a left-wing pollster puts Trump ahead by 10 points in a lean-blue state like Michigan, you know how bad is the situation for the Democrats. But what surprises me is the fact that the Dems are yet to wake up from their deep slumber.

It is not only the border situation. There is also the Biden administration's conduct on Russia's war against Ukraine. I reckon Trump might have been more diplomatic and would not have imposed sanctions against Russia. However, he would have been more hard handed on China which might cause other types of international problems hhehehe.

In any case, if you want to make some money on Trump, there is a mugshot NFT collection. I am quite certain there is also a Trump memecoin created hehehehee.

Former US President Donald Trump revealed a new NFT collection Tuesday, the “Mugshot edition.” The collection is a reference to his August 2023 indictment. Shortly after the announcement, the price of the former president’s previous NFTs began to rise.

@ChiBitCTy. Were the Bears +3.5?

On the Eagles vs. the Seahawks, might this be the opportunity to bet on the Eagles with only -3 against the spread? This might be -7 or more if they did not play consecutively against the 49ers and the Cowboys which arguably are contenders for NFC championship.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 18, 2023, 06:52:57 AM
@Hanadawa. I speculate that El Cucuy is not only having mental problems. He might be also having financial problems. This is only speculation from be, however, this case of drunk driving is very strange for someone like Tony. He wasnever mentioned to be a drinker and one day we witness that he got into an accident because he was drunk?

I reckon the UFC might be only giving him a slot to fight because he needs money. Uncle Dana has said that he needs to retire already.

UFC fighter Tony Ferguson was taken into custody after allegedly crashing his truck into two parked cars before it flipped over during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Street footage from L.A. shows the 39-year-old's vehicle capsized to its left side at around 2 a.m. near a club in Hollywood. The former interim UFC Lightweight champ' is believed to not have suffered any injuries, L.A.P.D. confirmed to DailyMail.com

Also, it will not be shocking if he had more problems in his home life.

This is El Cucuy's wife. I will not trust her with her own cellphone hehehehehheee.

@everyone. On the Broncos vs. the Lions, what is everyone's prediction? Do you reckon can win against the spread on -4.5? This might be Detroit's chance to start another small winning streak hehehehe. The Broncos offense is not very good and Russell Wilson might not be very trustworthy. Their run defense is also not very reliable.

This game will begin in 1 hour.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: December 16, 2023, 02:26:50 AM
@Rikafip. However, the voters do not only consider the performance. They might also be considering their agenda, their politics and what statement their pick would make to the world.

Emma Stone is a white, American girl who is a good actress but Lily Gladstone is an American native who will certainly make a statement if she wins for best actress. This will open a storyline on how her people were persecuted, killed and moved from their lands by the American settlers. It might also help in Hollywood's woke agenda.

In any case, @Saint-loup has not sent a bitcoin address yet. I will wait until Wednesday and I will assume the discussions for this bet is cancelled if there is no address.

I certainly think this latest Ethereum update stengthens my argument for the real world assets storyline which might begin on 2024 or 2025.

The Ethereum community has approved the ERC-3643 standard. This standard is the first-ever designed specifically for compliant tokenization. This new standard improves upon the widely used ERC-20 standard, particularly in securities activities. It enhances ERC-20 tokens with controlled advanced functions and compliance modules.

@Saint-loup. This proposal of yours is very good. This will certainly make the Oscar ceremony more exciting next year hehehehe.

Final clearance from you. If Sandra Hüller is not included in the final list of nominations, my bet against your Lily Gladstone will be Emma Stone for odds of 1:1, however, if Sandra Hüller is nominated for best actress then this bet continues and it will be on odds of 1:6.50. Correct? Bet is 1mbtc and I want you to be the escrow. I will send once the fees are lower. Also, it might be yours already ehhehehehehehee.

Send me address.

539  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance alternatives on: December 15, 2023, 04:38:14 AM
You can move your Bitcoins to a private wallet as mentioned by several other members. You can also move your funds to exchanges such as KuCoin, Bybit, MEXC or others.

But it's best to keep your Bitcoins in a private wallet and only send them to an exchange if you want to trade them.

You can buy a hardware wallet to store Bitcoin and other altcoins. It will be safer and more comfortable for you because you won't worry about anything.

Agreed on all of your suggestions for using a private wallet and for the exchange suggestions except MEXC as a Binance alternative. On Kucoin and Bybit, we can speculate that both of them have a chance to be the next biggest exchange in the cryptospace, however, MEXC be careful, I reckon. I do not have any proof that they selectively scam people but I would not trust this exchange over Kucoin and Bybit.
540  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CZ officially bids goodbye to Binance. Will Binance Crash or still stand Strong? on: December 15, 2023, 03:08:42 AM
@coupable. I disagree. Whales trade in Binance because it offers the liquidity that they need because the size of their trades are in millions. This is also similar for the other big exchanges.

This is certainly not blind trust. This is their willingness to take the risk.
