521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reflections on Responsible Gambling. Insights from the Community on: June 01, 2024, 07:37:36 AM
~

Looking forward to your thoughts.
Responsible yes, ethical idk. What makes a gambler unethical anyway? If you mean not participating in fixed matches then yea definitely. I'm too much of an introvert in the first place to look for people who match fix anyway lol. As for the second one, nothing I guess? Platforms that casinos use to promote aren't exactly controlled by me, nor can it be influenced. If I saw someone gambling at a young age or going to a casino I'd definitely stop them, but that's probably the limit. As for financially literate, who knows. i at least think I know what I'm thinking but hey, maybe that's just me.
522  Economy / Speculation / Re: The attractiveness of Bitcoin among my friends on: June 01, 2024, 06:13:09 AM

Public isn't limited to your friends and community lol. I mean you can tell people about Bitcoin on online forums where you're completely anonymous so limiting yourself to your community just, well, limits you.  And it's not really hiding, if they ask I'm more than willing to tell them that I do Bitcoin, if they don't then I don't see any reason why I should go out of my way to describe it and that they should also do it.

Plus realistically speaking, not really the best time to tell them to invest. I mean, we're already pretty high up. If it was back in 16k, hell yea if someone asked me I'd tell them to invest. Now? They'd still profit yes but not so much, which is probably not what they expect if they hear Bitcoin.

That's because back in their time, hard work MEANT something. Nowadays? That just means you're a pushover and you can be taken advantage of. Don't get me wrong, hard work is still needed to go up and get yourself a better life, but at some point, it just hits a ceiling. And it depends on what you're working for as well. Part of it is because of how many people are working as well in the first place, so it's a competition but a huge part is well, just the result of capitalism. You can stay change starts with small things, but that's when there's nothing big blocking your way and well, that's what capitalism does to you.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Q02 - Promotion of casinos through streamers, youtubers and others :) on: June 01, 2024, 04:00:20 AM

For 1, no not really. I do watch some people who gamble, but that's not their main content for the most part, and whenever they do, I usually don't watch them at all. I follow them not for gambling in the first place anyway. I don't think I have any gambling-centric influencer in the first place. I have watched a few big influencer tournaments though but that's about it when it comes to gambling content that I watch. Outside of sports tourneys themselves, I rarely watch people gamble their money away.

And even if I did watch them, highly doubt I'd participate in the casinos they promote. I rarely switch after all.
525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Always Be in an Uptrend? on: May 30, 2024, 10:31:47 PM
Since the launch of a bitcoin exchange-traded fund earlier this year, bitcoin has recovered and even surpassed its all-time highs set during the 2021 bull run. But for weeks, it looked like the largest cryptocurrency was trading sideways at best.
No? Pretty obvious that since said surpassing of ATH, bitcoin dipped down once again to 60k. And even then, if you consider how Bitcoin dropped off from 2021s 60k to 15k a couple of months ago, it's pretty obvious. As for it moving sideways, I'd say it's pretty normal? We steamrolled over 40k and 50k after all, if we didn't stop to stabilize I'd be expecting a massive crash afterward that specific pump. And so far we've already seen it return back to close to 70k after all.

If you're asking in general though well so far it's been an uptrend. But there's always going to be a peak for something imo. Just in Bitcoins' case, we haven't reached it (at least from what I see).
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT ARE THE AIRDROP CRITERIA WILL PAY US? on: May 30, 2024, 09:45:02 PM

Usually if they took the effort to do something about their website, their roadmap, and stuff like that, you know ones that actually made sense, then the project could be good and would be a worthwhile investment. Not that much if you're not confident, but it wouldn't hurt to put a small part really.

Of course nothing beats being an insider in their team and checking when the hell they're gonna start the pump-and-dump scheme so you can buy and sell at the right time. In the first place regardless of how they put the effort in, most of these projects are all "plans". Like seriously, they're treating crypto like Shark Tank (it's a business reality show for those unaware) where they appeal to investors lol, probably even worse since they can't even appeal a product, just a project.
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🚨Be careful with Shuffle Crypto Casino. Im Worried about Shuffle Casino Staff. on: May 30, 2024, 09:13:22 PM
I was wondering whether OP was the @NoNamaeKaibutsu from the screenshot? Because from the conversation, it seemed more like the one being doxxed was him and in OPs words, his account wasn't really returned cause he applied for self-exclusion from the casino.

I'm pretty curious since from the conversation OP sent, that's basically the only proof I can see that the person was doxxed (since really, I don't trust either you or shuffle obviously right now so I can't take your word for it that strongly) and since OP was banned from the casino, pretty confused why that conversation happened.

Also pretty hard to believe that you'd blame shuffle when there are tens of ways for your data to get leaked. Maybe if there's more people who show up and say they're info got leaked then sure, maybe there was a data breach from Shuffle. Otherwise, it just seems doubtful.
528  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can anti gamblers accept cash from gamblers when they're in dire financial needs on: May 29, 2024, 11:14:43 PM
~
People are able to judge others because they have the luxury to. You think at moments of desperation luxury is something that exists? Besides, yes it's not a crime to gamble, but neither is it to judge people no? It's just a cultural thing (if I were to describe it). There's absolutely no need to hate on them (nor like them) really, taking it to heart only serves to hurt you and not them. Don't mistake me though I'm all in it for trying to remove the negative image about gambling, just that getting stuck on them ourselves seem different to the goal here.

And in your example OP if the person puts his beliefs above someone else's life then somethings is fundamentally wrong with them, not because of a cultural difference lol. Not to mention that I don't think a person who hates gambling would have gamblers around them anyway.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do if you are loged out from your Sportsbet app after wining? on: May 29, 2024, 09:25:50 PM

A lot info lacking I think? Would've preferred to know the exact bet that he won it off from to check the match and odds myself really plus when did he appeal for customer support. And again, this is only one side of things. But well, not like casinos in general have stellar reputations in the first place lol.

Personally hasn't happened to me, would probably just contact customer support and wait a couple of days to maybe 2 weeks. After that, if there's no answer and the money is relatively big enough, I'd probably go to a lawyer and ask what I can do. Personally I don't think I can do jack about it, but hey, maybe they might.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEER 🍻 MEMECOIN, will this narrative fly? on: May 29, 2024, 09:19:45 PM
At the end of the day, a meme coin only pumps if the team behind it knows what they're doing. Only after does it stamp itself as a coin that got pumped would it have any chance of lasting in the market imo. Narrative? That thing doesn't matter at all. It may put attention to it for people to remember it much more easily, but that's it, it's usually not enough for people to start investing in lol. Not to mention that it'd probably be cheaper to buy beer itself than the coin itself. Especially since a beer wouldn't scam you like memecoins Tongue.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did/do you handled a gambling addict story. on: May 28, 2024, 11:10:21 PM
~
It's just realization really imo. In my case I was on the verge I suppose? But realizing that made me easily change my ways, plan out my finance and stuff like that. If it was an addict trying to get out, then it's definitely going to be harder and I'd suggest having someone help him in some way. Not just support like "You can do it, I believe in you", that shit can go eat dust but rather stuff like trying to check up on me every now and then, helping me manage and plan out my finances, stuff like that. Not that I'm saying words don't help, they do, but at some point it's effectiveness can be rather limited so instead of that, go for something solid.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are your meme bags doing? on: May 28, 2024, 09:40:38 PM
~
I don't think I'm going to be buying for now lol. I was lucky with PEPE since I got pretty good profits from shorting it every now and then, but I highly doubt it's going to happen again for now. I'd expect it to just stream down for a couple of months and I'd probably decide to hold a bit after that and wait till it just pumps up again before restarting my shorts to it.

As for other memecoins, well, too lazy to follow most of them. I only even started PEPE cause my crypto app kept spamming me that it went up/down by 5% in the last hour lol.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of Autonomous Car Racing on: May 28, 2024, 09:16:32 PM
~
if there was some sort of randomness to it maybe? I mean there's been a lot of competitions that involved robotics and automation, e.g. finding the shortest path race, robotic cars fighting and they're all pretty interesting to watch. I'd say I can bet on those types of matches, so I don't think car racing would be any different.

But again, as long as there's something that would make the race something more exciting since in the first place, it being machines can make the match boring, yes, but the race itself can be adjusted to accommodate limits that wasn't possible before since the racers were humans. With machines being the racers, limits be damned no?
534  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: May 27, 2024, 11:08:33 PM
~
Probably getting an investor? They're a lot more flexible compared to a loan in a financial situation and you can adjust as well as long as both parties agree, which means you can probably get better advantages compared to taking a loan from institutions. Plus, an investor is a connection as well so going from there towards their connections then towards the connections of those connections, you'd basically be starting a way for you to grow your own network.

Not that investors don't have their own downsides though. They can be a petty ass afaik.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creating alt coin or what solution can i find on: May 27, 2024, 09:40:17 PM
~
I don't think you need to create a coin for that lol. Just create a feature in your webapp per user that lets them redeem rewards based on a rule. E.g. get 80% of your income for that week, get total of your users, divide it so that they get all of it equally and every week they have this small button in their profile that says redeem your free rewards here, and just let them put in their say Paypal or Crypto wallet or something to receive their rewards. On your side you just have to make it pay automatically which should be pretty easy if you have someone who knows how to do it.

Creating your own just sounds like an unnecessary hassle lol.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People keep asking me to borrow money, some of them for betting on: May 27, 2024, 09:14:00 PM
~
Why bother lending them then if you have so much difficulty in the first place? My friend had this experience a couple of years back, money was used for vacation purposes (together with his gf) and the loan took like a year to be paid. After that, he never had anymore intention to give out loans unless for emergencies lol. Now imagine that in your case since they're using it for gambling. And really? Small amounts? Jesus I'd pass on that. I'm more likely to forget about them really.

And no, I rarely do. Only for emergencies at most really. As for female friends, like hell I will. Gender ain't an advantage here.
537  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to start portal like betfair etc on: May 26, 2024, 10:52:24 PM
Hello,
I am looking to start a portal similar to Betfair or 1xBet for sports, casino, virtual games. Can you advise me on how to obtain the necessary API, software, payment gateway, banking solutions, and other essential components?
Thanks in advance

You hire someone lol. If you're not that invested in trying to research it, you can hire someone who actually knows how to instead. Probably the easiest way. If you want to do it yourself, you'd usually still need to hire someone for the IT side, for the marketing side and at that point, you'd need an accounting team and an HR team as well. As for those stuff you said, they're mostly handled by the IT so just leave it to them lol.

Most of those stuff can be obtained by coordinating with the providers of games by directly contacting them, there's no really publicly available method since they'd need to give you an API key for you to be able to show it to your casino in the first place. Same with payment gateways and banking solutions.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Take Profit in this Bullrun on: May 26, 2024, 10:31:48 PM
~
Ultimate basic is to buy low sell high. Nothing else matters as much really imo. After you profit, it's just a matter of how greedy you are for profits before you're able to determine when to pull out or continue risking it. Personally from my experience if I'm doing shorts, a profit of 3-4% is usually enough for me to pull out, and if I'm greedy then a maximum of 5. The best I had while waiting in a day was 10%. I'd suggest looking into coins that are booming or are moving in an extremely volatile way. If you time it right you can profit pretty good in a couple of hours.

For long term, as you've said, I just DCA and wait a couple of years. It's just a waiting game after all.
539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exposure to bitcoin at young age on: May 26, 2024, 09:23:30 PM
~
Exposure to finance-related stuff in general is a good thing imo. Not that young ofc, probably around mid-late teens. It doesn't have to be Bitcoin specifically, just letting the kid know the importance of money, what tax is, what investments are, and stuff like that is already a good start. And then maybe at their early 20s you could then start talking and teaching about more complicated stuff and maybe letting them do it themselves e.g. investments, filing taxes (just filling up forms to know what it means) and stuff like that.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of people in this section do not understand basic gambling concepts. on: May 26, 2024, 11:39:26 AM
~
I do suppose you don't really need to understand them in a sense? I mean understanding them doesn't really change anything, you'd just be aware of how much they're stealing from you but other than that, you'd still be playing all the same imo. Personally, that's how I'd value the knowledge that's on a similar level to House Edge. I actually don't think I know everything about all the gambling-related stuff to be fair though. Gotta agree that they should at least know that casinos aren't their friends though.

And isn't the 2nd example just a math problem? At least from how I see it you don't necessarily need the idea of what HE is.
