Back to spot 77 on MintPal.com

We gotta keep the pressure up!

The Mjollnircoin vault is slowly filling up, currently counting over 2,200 MNR

A lot of things have been done by other coins before, like Give Aways, Faucets, Bounties, Contests etc
so I'd like to hear what you would like the most.
I'll start off with a couple of ideas, feel free to suggest your own!

How about contests?
  • Crack a (simple) password protected MNR wallet
  • T-shirt/Poster
  • MNR slogans/quotes
  • Type-facing/Font for Mjollnircoin

How about bounties?
  • Wallet for Syllable
  • Mobile Wallet
  • Article on Mjollnircoin
  • Translations of [ANN] to other languages
  • Free-style Mjollnircoin-art (MNR for every submitter?)

Contests would be cool ... we need to raise awareness.. I was thinking something with twitter.

On a site i used to help run we had a script that gave people coupons after they tweeted about the site or +1 it on google plus.

If we can get people to tweet / like or +1on these social networks maybe we can reward folks with x amount of MNR or something..

Yes this is clearly an option; How many MNR do you think would be an appropriate reward for Following/Tweeting on Twitter or giving it a Like on social media ?

How about 5-10 MNR ?

Maybe 5 MNR per person the first week and then 4 MNR the second week and so forth.. Until that give away is over...  I dunno im just winging it here but i think giveaways are banned at bitcointalk.org so it would have to be done on reddit or something.

I want to run something by the community.

What would you guys think of doing something on a temp basis to generate funds.   What I was thinking is to increase the block reward by X amount for Y time.  The extra X per block would go into a separate wallet address used for a specific purpose (similar to the donation "vault").  For example Bittrex will add a coin for 1 BTC.  So if we could generate the 1 BTC worth of MNR we could get onto a popular good exchange that a lot of people use.

This would surely help the value of MNR as it would put us on an exchange that has a good deal of volume.

Now I don't know how this would work from a technical standpoint but we could either spread out the "extra" mnr on a series of blocks or just have a super block.  I don't know if this could be done behind the scenes or if a new wallet would need to be released.

mjollnircoin, can you comment on the technical details needed to do something like this?

It's possible we could want to "generate" 2 or 3 btc worth of coins this way which could be used for some bounties or to run some contests.  I'd leave this up to the community to decide and we can surely discuss it.

Any coins generated via a superblock or over Y time could just simply be removed from the end of life mining of the coin.  I personally think a few thousand coins generated soon could be worth a whole lot more to the value of the coin (ie if used to get on a good exchange) then holding them to the end.

We have an exchange problem for sure right now which is hurting us in both growth and value.  We really don't need to be on MintPal.com but Bittrex.com and Poloniox.com would do us wonders!

To be honest I wouldn't mind seeing a small "superblock" per week that is say 5 times the normal value.  This would go into the "vault" and could be used for contests and other cool things the community could think up to generate more interest.  I'm sure this type of thing if thought out could help us tremendously right now in the short term.  The end result is that we would get done mining ever so slightly earlier as we would run out of coins sooner.  Again this could be done for only a short period of time to help generate needed funds for things mentioned above.

What do you guys think assuming it can be done?

Carlo

Thats not a bad idea... Not sure about the technical side of it but maybe mjollnircoin can chime in!

 I like the idea tho..

Is this coin dead?

yes, indeed, ppl are too busy with cryptnote  Grin
also the only one exchange does not have any trade, much szero  Grin

I don't know why people are claiming this coin is dead (without evidence); it has active development.

Perhaps they want others to dump the coin so they can get in cheap ?

Lowest sell price at ComKort is 0.00001 BTC per MNR, still several factors larger than the highest buy offer which sits at 22 satoshi per coin

What does everyone think about anon features for this coin. This article here got all kind of ideas brewing in my cloud ..
http://coinjoint.info/report-frontlines-dark-wallet-alpha-testing/

Seems a popular request for altcoins - in another coin's thread somebody asked about adding DarkSend / CryptoNote as well.

^^   Yeah you know what they say..

Thanks for the charts by the way... i just sent 200MNR to the donate address.   METCGJeKpyjr73KHDwo9k2jWe3J5s97rt7

Speaking of.. hey mjollnircoin!

is there a way i can send regular payments to a MNR address on the regular, automatically?

That would be a nice feature.

Say i wanted to send 200MNR to therealsteve every week! Automatically! Can you code that in possibly, is that doable?

Edit: Maybe a separate tab to show repeating payments or something..

Hi,

Well, we can put some effort in facilitating an accounting engine that would allow the user to setup recurring payments.
Ofcourse (as a consequence), the merchant cannot know about your "subscription" ; it would merely be a way
to automate the process of paying those montly returning bills instead of you having to create the payment manually each time.

So, lets try to sketch a simple one and make it even more simple

Version Simple:
--------------

Features:

- List of pending "bills" (model/view/controller)
- Confirmation dialog for User before or on due date
- Import/Export list of subscriptions

Screens:
1. Pending payments:  User chooses which payments to fullfill from a list of pending payments (and sends coins)
   Actions: Pay or Pay selected
2. Manage subscriptions: User manages subscriptions
   Actions: New,Edit,Delete, Export,Import
2. Dialog/notification to remind User of a due payment / lack of funds etc

Options (optional):
Screen 1: Automatic payment on or before due date (high risk transaction)

Actions:
1. User can create subscription
   1a. User sets (total) amount
1b. User sets a date or creates payment term
1c. User sets the total number of payments to be made
2. User can delete subscription
3. User can edit existing subscription

Hey mjollnircoin!

Thanks for chiming in..

Confirmation dialog before due date is great idea. I was also thinking maybe a skip payment button too so that you can skip the next upcoming payment ..

Outside of that you hit it on the nail! I dont mind so much the merchant not nowing about the automation.

Wish my bitcoin client had this, it would be a great way to automate sending coins to say an exchange to cash out regularly.

Thanks for clarifying about the anon features, it does seem to be a front and center topic with a potential to be an inflamation point between oposing sides.
