Credit union FTW!!

Wish more folks would switch from MTGOX though... you'd think we'd have learned that by now...

Well the current exchange i was using just went belly up i think .. or something is going on with bitfloor.
They just asked the whole lot to pull funds out ..btc or USD and all trading has stopped!

So ... where is a halfway decent exchange??? I was thinking bitstamp but .. i need to pull out USD easy. Bitfloor did just that!

Direct deposit was a sinch..just gave it my routing and bank name . .. Think it was 2 1/2 days funds were in my account!

Im approaching all exchanges with a 50 ft poll from now on.. I really liked bitfloor hope they arent gone for good. Sad

1243  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitfloor issues? on: April 17, 2013, 10:33:01 PM
This is too bad =/ I was hoping bitfloor would continue to grow, they seemed to be doing pretty well and was definitely one of the smoother exchanges to trade on IMO.

Obviously this is disregarding the unfortunate coin loss. I will say that Roman had been making loss repayments and all signs pointed towards him continuing to do so. Hopefully they can get everything in order...

I agree. Disappointing. I really liked trading there.

^^ This! My experience at bitfloor has been great except for a delay on a cash deposit..

I think localtill / bofa is bitfloors problem... i could be mistaken but.. i think it was the landslide of localtill issues that brought this on.. especially during the panics.

Glad my spiddy sense's got me to withdraw the few thousand i had in there as well as my coins ..

Give localtill and bofa the shaft roman! Do like us lil guys ! Credit union???

Hope everyone gets their cash out.. who else didnt receive an email!?
EDIT// just read the mail sent in groups.. still i must be part of the group who didnt receive an email..

Someone mentioned the ca exchange ill have to look.. if not----->  son of a *****, here i come gox!

1244  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitfloor issues? on: April 17, 2013, 09:48:42 PM
Son of *****,

I liked bitfloor! I had an issue with them and localtill and cash deposit taking 12hours the first time i used them but support from bitfloor has been fast and i was just starting to feel comfortable.. I dunno why but i had this odd feeling the other night after reading a few goxxed articles and i was telling myself .. lets take a break from the charts... so i moved my quick trade coins to an online wallet and pulled out a few racks via direct deposit.

Then cheap coins started coming out of the wood works... fek! The charts are like a goddam TV show i cant stop watching and moving my fiat back to the banks was a means of cooling myslef off.. lolz

So after my 3-4 day break last night i was telling myself .. ok back to the grind!! Ive missed to many cheap coins..

Only to find this s***..   fek!  I didnt get this email by the way..

Is there any place we can leave a dozen coins and a few racks and feel comfortable sleeping? Giving up 4% to localtill to move fiat to the floor sucks! Banks wires take half a week ..

So ya cant do sh** on a whim..

I had just recently got verified by gox but man .. i dunno how i feel about them right now.. lolz..
may give them a shot but the local census around here isnt too good..

Is there anywhere that is issue free!! I hope bitfloor works this out.. i had planned on making it home. Maybe i am foolish and need to rethink quick access to cash and coins on the exchanges!

I wish em luck and hope they work this out.. i wonder why all bitfloor people didnt get an email.. i didnt get one.. maybe its because i cleared out a few days ago like i said.! I hope!!!!

(it should have been a system wide email to everybody!  What happens if you were on vacation or just missed the email)

1249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 16, 2013, 03:55:33 AM
I think everything took a beating today.. the dow, nasdaq, s&p and gold is still taking an arse whooping..  + "some kind of bombing in boston" lots going on.. Wasnt exactly a glad to be watchin the charts kinda day! Shanghai isnt exactly reporting any good news ..short quote from an article, they weren't talking about btc but they might as well have been! -->

" a global sell-down in the wake of disappointing economic data from China the previous day, with the resource sector hit hard."

Two things. I went to bed last night shortly after the weird low trading levels lag on mtgox started. As expected I woke up this morning to see a moderate dip and recovery. I don't feel like trawling through pages and pages of this thread, but from what little I've checked I deduced that we had (several?) market cooldowns during the past 24h. Have we heard any explanation from gox? Anything else I missed?

Secondly, take a look at this graph.
http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=%22buy%20bitcoins%22%2C%20%22buy%20bitcoin%22&date=today%203-m&cmpt=q
The queries for both "buy bitcoin" and "buy bitcoins" peaked on Thursday the 11th, the day after the crash. The volume was also high on the day of the crash, but it is difficult to tell how many of these queries were from people who had not yet heard about the crash. These two days saw an almost 40% higher query volume than the previous peak on April the 3rd. This suggests that the anecdotes we've had on here about people who previously thought they had missed the boat rushing to get in after the crash are not isolated incidents. I expect we'll be seeing record levels of fiat on the order book  in the next week.

They've also begun to restrict the number of orders each account can place.

Someone got to gox about the bots?!!  Grin Grin Grin

there are already bigger and better trading platforms and exchanges in the pipeline, in a couple of years we'll be looking back and thinking "I can't believe we ever used to trade on  a magic gathering exchange, it'll be like having fibre optic and remembering the good old 56k modem napster days.

Coinsetter certainly looks interesting
http://www.coinsetter.com/
http://blog.coinsetter.com/2013/04/09/coinsetter-to-bring-leverage-and-shorting-to-bitcoin-with-500000-funding-round/

just look at the people investing
"New York City-based bitcoin startup Coinsetter has taken its first outside investment by closing a seed round totaling $500,000. The round was led by Barry Silbert, the CEO and founder of SecondMarket, and Jimmy Furland, a successful London-based tech entrepreneur. Silbert invested in the company through his Bitcoin Opportunity Fund. Tribeca Venture Partners, a NYC-based venture capital firm, also took a leading role as the largest investor in the round. Other investors include Microsoft head of corporate strategy Charles Songhurst, Facebook product lead Ben Davenport, and bitcoin industry leader Roger Ver."

zedicus is there a way that we can take advantage of those bots ? like playing the same game as they are ?

I dunno, its an embarrassment to our eco-system.. I was thinking about something along the lines of what you were but i dunno if two wrongs make a right!

We need to public make an uproar over this! The bots needs to be filtered out and if they want to play than they must pay as an example no regular trader does 50-75 trades in say and hour! Its just not gonna happen..or not likely!  But a bot will do so easy with micro trades that clog the exchanges!

So if they want to manipulate the market with their bots than makem pay .. 50 max trades an hour or $100 fee there after and for every 50 more!! (all bots abusing the system would vanish) Unless its the banks with endless fiat $.

Regular bot owner can still leverage the api and automate their trading strategy!

Mtgox or any other exchange wont do anything unless we pressure them! They make an absurd amount of $ from the mass panics so they love it. The association with the price and the lag is not something people are imagining ..

Deal with the bots and the lag goes away! Plain and simple! But they wont admit to that let alone take action because they profit insanely from it!!

If all else fails i guess we can get an army of bots and just flood the system so that nobody can make trades but the bots !
Thereby forcing them to take action! But their response would be to upgrade servers and more ssd's because they are swimming in money and dont want to see the bots go!

The bots could belong to members of this forum, or banks, government, people who run or advocate competing digital currency's or outside partys with interests beyond the scope of this conversation.

Either way its a huge blind spot on bitcoin and i dont know how many more crashhes and fud campaigns our infant mutant currency cant take. But we have a mutant freakshow currency thats kicking arse and taking names later so if you think people are gunning for us now.. you havent seen anything yet!

Bitcoin is still an infant and they are scared to death of it .. so there is alot at play and alot at risk. If we can get people to stop fixating on the price per coin for a quick sec and address this stuff the coming days would be momentous!

At the minimum we need a continuous dialog about these bots publicly and raise awareness! Big time!
1260  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: April 12, 2013, 10:57:10 AM
POS 0.01 bots doing their worst right now to spam.

Was just thinking the same thing...

I wish we can get some attention to this.. the bots need top be filtered out max 100 trader per... i dunno but..

We need a public dialog. A loud one that all the exchanges can here! Might have to call on the reddit army..
