^^ Since we're rapidly approaching the "point-of-no-ROI", there's little interest in investing several thousand USD's on half-a-miner. However, if you were to release a smaller device based on 2 of your module PCBs, giving us a much more affordable ~5.4GH/s device, there would probably be a higher interest. The additional effort for such a device would be minimal, and DIY guys could always expand upon it, using the same controller module.
^^ I think interest has been gauged already! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177386.msg1876668#msg1876668But i think the difficulty and roi has to be taken into consideration more than any other batch! .

Organofcorti, I deeply respect your projections and therefore your well educated opinion: what would you believe to be a reasonable pricing for Avalon batch #4, if official shipping date is "early June" and therefore most likely delivery date in July?
With reasonable I mean a pricing that will very likely allow a ROI + some profits (in BTC, as it's impossible to know the exchange rate in X months)
I'm debating with myself if doing a considerable investment in Avalon batch #4 (disclaimer: I could have a very reasonable electrical cost)
How about it organofcorti! Im standing next to Rampion with the same sea of questions roaring in my head! Do you mind obliging ... Thanks in advance, i can safely say "we" appreciate youre efforts.

Guys - chill. All they have done so far is announce they are working on something, and given a mailing list to subscribe for updates. They haven't given us any specific details yet and aren't even accepting any money or BTC yet. Their product isn't complete, but they are definitely known to be working with a reputable company on building an ASIC and are not a simple scam.
Until they start taking money, or have made concrete promises (BFL lol) they have done nothing wrong and the ball is in their court. All we need to do is wait until they announce something further - maybe they won't make it, maybe they'll make stupid promises (BFL again), maybe their chips won't work whatever - we don't know yet. Until then though, they have done nothing wrong.
Give them some space, then see what they make, then decide if you want to buy it or not.
What part of beak or no beak are you missing!! Im a god dam rubber penguin on ice... im chill, im chill !! They came with the geniune yada yada.. so i was just passing the grey poupon back.. This is what happens when youre on the BFL side of the industry for too long!! They are setting their standards! If they don't have the time now to quell concerns, how the fuck are they going to have time later to address issues when they're supposedly going to be in full production.
If they can't understand this simple concept, then fuck them, with same going for all those that send payment to them and later come here a cryin' with all their woes.
^^ Keep in mind he is genuine too!!!! I dont know Phinnaeus Gage at all but ive never seen him speak out of turn or from left field .. He didnt enter the conversation this way! If you dont want a sentiment like this to be permanent then read my previous post again and again untill it hits home! This is what happens when you send out paychecks with zero balances. If not well see you after 30 more pages of ... "who are you guys. are you legit. wait are you sure you know electronics. whats youre expierience, you sure youre in sweden. Can i send over a cabby to verify, wait you guys had time to do lunch with a random forum member but cant take 2 minutes every other few days to answer some questions.. whats youre VAT #, wait a minute arent you that guy from that tv show.."Ya want 30 more pages of this kinda crap than carry on.. See you on the right side of the industry! Beak or no beak! Any questions!?

I've decided to give them a try, website looks impressive, looks like their support staff is straining under all the ex-bitfloors and ex-Goxxers. Takes a few weeks to hire and train good people when volume increases, so a support backlog is understandable. Will be watching closely for instances of money orders not being credited or deposit/transfer issues, that's an important piece of the pie right there.
Please pass on youre experience! Thank you for giving us a try! Show us an exchange that dialogs with its customers and we will show you the money! Youre footprint here is rather small and i do understand sometimes there is a backlog and maybe the company is growing still.. but I recommend a campbx official thread! Maybe in the services section.. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=85.0I signed up yesterday but just found this thread!! This is scary!! 4 months before a reply .. with that much money on the line... Its unacceptable in every sense of the word. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=139772.0Lots of onlooker and refugees from bitfloor/Mtgox.. including myself. we just need a standup company we can count on. One that wont leave us in the dark. Ever!!! A new customer thats looking forward to doing business on youre platform. Nice setup by the way.. youre site looks well done, i hope to put it through the paces soon after i read more reviews and experiences. Will post my experience here or on youre official thread once its up! Best Regard, Zedicus

KNCminer, I have a question I was hoping you could answer: I signed up for the initial 1-500 preorder, and received a confirmation email with order number, and everything seems OK so far. I have seen you say that people should register at your site to receive further information about the preorders, but I have not done this, I only filled out the preorder form and placed the order. Am I still OK to receive this information or is it mandatory to sign up on the site? With all due respect I would rather not sign up if there is no reason for it. The information provided in the preorder form should be enough. Please advise if I need to sign up on the site for my order to be valid.
Interested in the response to this, was wondering the exact same thing. Hi again all, There has been a lot of talk in this forum thread and we simply don't have time to reply to every post (we are quite busy) but this one seemed genuine enough and I thought needed clarification. On our site www.kncminer.com there are a few ways to get on the mailing list, The first one is to register for a pre-order and tick the box for the mailing list, The second is to add your address to the mailing list only. Either way you will receive the same information. The only difference is that the pre-order registrants have a place in the queue when we launch the products. (which they don't have to use, as anyone can just not progress their registration to a full order and give up their queue place if they so wish) I hope this helps anyone who is confused. We will try to make these things clearer in the future. Oh man how did i miss it they actually responded! Really!!.. I had already dismissed this thread. Maybe i was mistaken lets see! KNC, I think a lot of people are genuine .. i think they are not understanding the minimal dialog from you guys. A bit of dialog would go a long way! As an example youre pre-order has an entry for how many?? Its really impossible to know how many to order or reserve without details on GH/s, power consumption, stack-able design, upgradable, warranty, payment option, shipping time, support, standalone? or pc required? .. if so cross platform?? Linux, mac, windows support?
Outside of that people want to know what foundry, how far along in the process you are, estimated shipping date, more info on youre company & youre background... and so forth. Silence breeds doubt, concern and fear and with thousand on the line that is NOT what you want youre potential customers feeling. I think you will be surprised the kind of feedback you would get if you were more transparent about youre state of development and youre product. Right now all we know is you are making a miner in Sweden. We dont know anything else .. its just 30 pages of non-sense. If you updated this thread regularly and dont alienate youre customers i think you will find a healthy dose "genuine" feedback! Most scams are blatant and they have certain traits the trigger red flags amongst customer base and one of those traits is SILENCE! The Asic miner industry currently has two sides or types of company's in the market. They are a clear contrast to one another. AVALON | BFL^^ What side of the line do you think youre company is on right now? I would try everything in my power to be on the left side. If you venture to far to the right, you will permanently paralyze youre brand. I think im just saying what alot of people are thinking and we would love if we have competition in the market place.. but i think i speak for everyone when i say we have had our share of scams and with the difficulty rising and the potentials for return on investment getting thinner everyday we just cant take anyone who is NOT at the minimum dialoging with customers seriously. Ultimately its a preview of whats to come after you take our $ so its best to set a standard for yourself so that people are confident in placing thousand in youre hands! Either way good luck! "A genuine registered potential customer." Zedicus Beak or no beak!

^^ i agree batch 4 should be priced with difficulty and competitors in mind, including the diy crowd and the flood of chips just purchased. The Diy guys are pedal to the medal ... i worry about them more than bfl... Bfl is full of ****.. so there is no telling what they are up to.. hell i dont even believe the recent videos.. But the difficulty worry is not unfounded!! http://organofcorti.blogspot.com/2013/04/914-asic-earnings-23-april-2013.htmlThat said all we have to go by with batch #4 is the "would you be interested if may early june" ... nothing definitive. I wish we had more info.. at least on the timing if not the pricing too... Takin orders in a week? two weeks? three? Even approximate .. Dont want to buy btc only to realize there wont be a roi or worse yet find out there wont be a roi and btc price drops and you loose youre fiat too!! I lost $235 just in fees moving 6k to an exchange to buy btc in hopes of purchasing an avalon last time, and since i was unsuccessful the thought of just throwing more money away for nothing makes me sick! aghh... Im need ta go pet a dragon & see if i can get us some luck. Hopefully avalon is having some luck of their own with batch 2/3 shipping and they can spread the love to batch 4 customers..

Well avalon better seriously change their little equation for batch mini 4 then huh?
Avalon doesnt seriously have to do anything but.. All this difficulty speculation makes you wonder!? So does avalons formula hold true for the batch 4 that was announced? If so for how long? Is there a chance that youre batch 4 @ 45Gh/s develops an unfavorable ROI before it ships or no ROI at all.. Tho, no date for purchase was announced, I think it was a late may or early june delivery time quoted.. Whats the life span of such a device in terms of profitability on its own at the speculated difficultys.. ( (.)(.) This thread went from difficulty rising to were all dead pretty quick! )

Hey big time.. Thanks for obliging, are you actually having thoughts of hosting all 500? What coast are you on btw.. you have pickup option? I wish youre timing was better as well as youre price point since i havent grabbed an asic yet and time is an issue. Thats said ill still be on the lookout for this thread and youre venture.. good luck.. Ps: Tho we were impressed with the leaves or tree samples, we still need the dog drool, the gummy bear, the last hospital and the last 4 of your plates! rofl Best, Zedicus

^^ I agree with the above sentiment.. The everyone didnt get the email is what doesnt sit well with me. I was one that didnt .. My spider senses made me remove my $$$$.$$ a couple days before this went down. So i barely escaped ..
Direct deposit worked fine and for the most part except for my first deposit.. all was well at bitfloor and i was considering making it home. Thats what sucks the most..
I hope you guys get youre loot back.. and all ends well.

Hey there, youre right and i have began to "gather".. im a lil wiser now I hope its not so much .. But a lot of new comers are not the wiser and i was in their shoe once. Im excited to finally be able to purchase this legendary miner, hell if the whole avalon team would sign it and title it "limited edition avalon asic miner" i would pay extra! Cheers Edit: Still got fingers crossed on upgradeable unit.. (add module later)

Also, from the experience with BFL the bitcointalk community has seen what happens when a company with little experience in the ASIC field jumps in blindly. Any other who are to follow without having a long history of successful projects in the field will have a much harder time than BFL did to earn the trust of the community. BFL got a freebie just cause they were the first, that's usually how it is.
Well said.. they got a freebie indeed!!!!

So BFL who throws quarters at people 1 year with pre money NOT SCAM Kncminer partnership with a legit 11yr old company, not taking any money BIG SCAM SAUCE
Did i understand everything correctly?
BFL, actual history of shipping FCPGAs. They were also the first to announce pre-orders before it became obvious that selling imaginary bitcoin miners became the newest and least risky scam on the interwebz. During the last 3 months we have had on average of at least 1 new asic scam announcement a week, you are surprised people refuses to trust them until they show actual hardware? how about that... it was like he typed it for me!
