1181  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar Mining on: April 30, 2013, 02:45:26 AM
Something with an upgrade path would be nice.. so that you dont buy a panel that only works with a certain  kind of inverters..or only woks and tandom with another panel of the same kind.

or maybe ya want a solution that you can daisy chain or add batterys for expansion for longer winter or heavy use or maybe something with a mixed solution you can offset if ya get desperate like a noisy fuel generator.

or maybe something thats a standalone unit , Guess some folks wanna sell back to the utilities and some just want them to fek off so they can go off the grid.

Sometimes companys start off looking modular and then when you need to replace a part you realize youre stuck in their lil eco system and you have to buy one of "their panels" or it only works with their inverter .. and when another company comes out with a panel 6 months later thats 150% better youre just a simple upgrade away ... you dont have to take out a third mortgage to catch up to the tech.

I dont know much about this stuff.. just some thoughts.

But the way bcpokey put it was like "hey you can buy a motor and at transmission and wheels .. there's not much more than that!" lol

if HjerterEss sells this stuff im sure he can come up with a 101 reasons why its not "just that"  ..

I could be mistaken! I dont know thats why i inquired! For all i know they run off asics and gatorade!
1182  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar Mining on: April 30, 2013, 12:43:11 AM
I like...

   2 big panels
   sell unused back
   auto source change on demand
HUGE Royal batteries ? use it to store charge??

dont like..

fuel generator .. you mean the kind that if you and all your neighbors ran one nobody would get any sleep?

   That kind?

Ive been considering a move on solar but .. only in my head. lol  I keep hearing "researchers making ground breaking improvements" on solar panels but pricing schemes seem like they just went from "buy my panel" to "lease my panel"

Of course no diy install packages. When are we gonna get something where we can install panels and add inverter and batteries that hold charge and press go. Maybe replace "press go" with attach miner!  Grin

^^ oh i see..
1184  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar Mining on: April 29, 2013, 09:24:20 PM
36 panels on our house for a total of ~7.5kW.  During the day if the pool pump or AC isn't running we are in the positive.  I run 3 GPU's and my PC takes up about 800W.  Our average electric bill has been about -$200, yes negative, and the lease for the panels is about $180.  Crazy, I know.
is that with or without goverment subsides?

Yeah spill the beans?

$ 2,795.00 for 6 GH FPGA? Hmmm  Shocked
$ 7,000.00 for 250 GH ASIC(?) seems much better deal...

That can't be correct. $3000 for 6GH? And it's not even an ASIC? I don't get it.

its magic .. ya know like a card trick.

        < > < > < >

^^ ok where is the red queen? in the middle? left? right?

Wait wait let me shuffle..

        < > < > < >

^^ ok now where is the queen? How much ya wanna bet?

lol

DO NOT SEND $. THIS COMPANY HAS THE TRAITS OF A SCAM.
------------------------------------------------------------

May cause massive anxiety, weight loss, migraines, instant account draining, reverse thinking, tongue seizure, dry mouth, digital suicide, tooth grinding, kidney stone, indefinite toe cramp and blood loss from the nose. If you need immediate support do not call the manufacturer.  If you need support on their invisible product line. . be prepared to downgrade to a 3 year old model so you can get in que for support on one of the products that doesnt exists.

^^ There is a bitcointalk member "organofcorti"  that runs a place called the neighborhood pool watch!

You should check out the site and the analysis..
How much for batch #4 -->  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=184891.msg1928052#msg1928052

the neighborhood pool watch

Worth a look i think..
1188  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: expected return on investment with ASIC's on: April 26, 2013, 10:42:18 PM
organofcorti!!  Grin

Thanks for obliging!!

0.03 donation on your way Wink

Thats whats up!! More people should pony up... The neighborhood pool watch is a community asset as far as im concerned!
Im sure ill be donating again in the future.

I'm not a math person, so I've took a while to understand your charts Wink

Anyhow I think I arrived to the same conclusion as you did, with my excel and my "hand made" projections: reasonable price for Avalon batch #4 would be around 0.4BTC per GHs. And still the risk would be high, as we are seeing how the delays are seem unavoidable.  If they price batch #4 that way (0.4BTC/0.5BTC per GHs), I'm ready to do a consistent investment. But I'm afraid it will be higher, I have the gut feeling it will be double than that... Which makes ROI very difficult if not impossible.

Im leaning towards this analogy but im a lil bit more flexible ... at the same time i have the same gut feeling that may lead me to rethink the whole batch #4 series.

As organofcorti said a big part of the formula is the deployment date, not the "its on the way date", or possible ship date! Im talking about this thing is in front of me mining date! I think Avalon understands this well hence releasing info regarding b2, b3 let alone b4 shipping might just be shooting themselves in the foot.  ( who knows, maybe avalon is on vacation like someone said.. or maybe they are still building their assembly line. Its a huge blind spot for us for sure tho.)

I think they have a lot to consider, hell batch 2/3/4 might all be ready to go and they are testing and or mining with them until they have better determined the volume of asics coming online from competitors and the diy crowd that just sank teeth into avalon asic chips..

Are Avalon asic chips "supposed" to arrive before or after b2/b3/4?? I havent really been keeping up.. but i think this analogy has really opened up my eyes a bit for me and i may go head first into one of these diy threads.. i think "burning" has been making some headway.  Im sure there are pros and cons to consider there as well.

Did avalon give more than a days notice before the other batches went on sale. Then demand was a lil under 4k as far as the poll but who knows after considering the difficulty what the demand is now.  Somehow im leaning towards it not selling out in an hour.. I wonder how long we will have to reanalyze before a decision making point is forced upon us.

Anyway i dont find it a coincidence that we are without "timing". The Avalon "IN MY HANDS MINING" date at this time maybe more valuable then the miner its-self!

Thanks again organofcorti and Rampion too for asking the question i was thinking and for donating to "our" cause.

Best Regard,
Zedicus

Dan99 said it the best  ---------->  "$2955 for 50gh/s to Mars $2,795 for 6gh/s??"

classic switcharoo, promise one thing.. get people to sign up and show interest.. and then bayum!

What happens if you order the mars in a couple days and they take 3-4 months to get it to you and then they switch the "predicted" price of jupiter to 12k and then say thats gonna take another 7 months?

ill tell ya what happens.. You will end up  filling the sink with water and dunkin youre head in indefinitely! lolz

If they were not that kind of people or not that kind of company you would say nawww they wont do that!!

But now since they clearly knew the whole time they were not gonna be doing the 50ghs, you expect them to pull a switch again ..

Might as well just said fek it we are taking pre orders.. lol

If i told you i was selling bio degradable penguins & i came out with a styrofoam duck would you buy it?

Pitch line: Cmon guys the abs plastic beak and feet is tough and resistant to breakage.  You will be able to take a hammer to it no problem..

In the defense of whatever company (KNCminer in this case): What do they 'owe' this community? Are they obligated to answer questions about a non launched product?
They haven't even launched yet and aren't even taking pre-orders!

Damn people, stop acting like entitled children. IF they have a product I assume they will have info when it's due. If not, who cares!

Jeez, do something useful with your time.

"In the defense BFL: What do they 'owe' this community? Are they obligated to answer questions about a non launched product?

^^ My mistake, youre are right i didnt even read the whole page at all. My eyes forwarded to the speed and cost and dropped everything else but the pics, i remembered being curious about how they were cooling it besides the fans when i saw the pic.. and i moved along..

1195  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Halfsize Avalon "proposed" in latest update -- 45Gh/s on: April 25, 2013, 01:39:38 AM
]yapping about youre vegetarian mubo jumbo or how everyone should eat falafel's ..

That's borderline racist comment, and I hope you realize that.

It was just an example .. it had nothing to do with race nor do i understand how you see it as such. If you were offended by it .. my apology's!
1196  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 490,000 Avalon chips already ordered - 150T hashrate spike coming in August on: April 25, 2013, 01:20:36 AM

1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 25, 2013, 01:10:19 AM
gage u dont mine??? coz u seem like u no a hell of a lot bwt bitcoin and ur very thorough, tbh i really appreciate you delving into kncminer. bt i am very curious as to y u dont mine, do u jus buy bitcoins wen their at a decent price mayb?

Mining is a tad too technical for my taste, coupled with the time it would take me away from my barn wood business. I have sold some leather items and purchased a few coins, slowly building up a nice nest egg. Unfortunately, I opted to store them all on InstaWallet, where Boussac was kind enough to stick it up my ass for inquiring about a police report. In essence, I'm now Bitcoin-poor after champion InstaWallet when Davout put me at ease that all is swell at IWland.

I never lost bitcoins via any other service, although I'm out $20K+ indirectly due to the Bitcoinica fiasco, all because I turned one guy onto Bitcoin here in Sandwich, whereupon he opted to have his daughter invest in Bitcoin via Bitcoinica after me assuring him that they seemed up-and-up. I went overboard in my postings afterward due to that episode causing my ignore to turn orange.

Yet, here I am still trying to make sure nobody gets scammed, but at a heavy toll.

Madness!

Thats unreal man.. i was speed reading through a thread about the subject ... the thread was regarding zhoutong and im not to sure i grasped fully what happened but im really sorry to hear that you sustained losses from it.  Especially in that amount.. thats just unbelievable.. i would have went ballistic! My heart sank when i was reading what you wrote and now i understand... your position. A heavy toll indeed.
1198  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Halfsize Avalon "proposed" in latest update -- 45Gh/s on: April 25, 2013, 12:39:34 AM
^^ so you think he's right but you just happen to be wading in an avalon miner thread.. i find that funny..

If you dont want hamburgers stay away from McDonalds...  Dont come to Mcdonalds yapping about youre vegetarian mubo jumbo or how everyone should eat falafel's ..

We are "here" because we want an avalon miner like the thread says.. Everyone else should kick rocks.. that evidently includes you!

1199  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Big Time Coin selling 90 GH/s bitcoin mining devices - Batch A on: April 24, 2013, 08:18:10 PM
^^ i will give him that. In poker we call it pot committed! Kinda sucks ... I actually thought this guy was a scam and it seems he is one of the few who maybe actually be genuine and has made an investment into the asic market .. I hope he fairs out ok..
1200  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 490,000 Avalon chips already ordered - 150T hashrate spike coming in August on: April 24, 2013, 06:23:05 PM
^^ i was looking at big time coins thread... i think he under positioned himself ..  staffing .. timing and price so alot can go wrong even after chip purchase..

EDIT// Thats alot of assuming by me..
