Well, you are free to buy stocks in ASICMiner if you do think they'll continue to do as well as they have. So it's fair enough in that sense.
I am more worried that they will kill the price of BTC. When mining is distributed, more of the miners keep the BTC or maybe spend it (I am a seller so I do have bias). I do not see ASICminer spending BTC of things in the community, it could happen but it is not what they are set up to do. Basically ASICminer is a drain on the community. This does not mean they are doing anything wrong or should be stopped, it is just in most small miners interest not to support them. You buy a USB stick from them, you allow them to put up an equal (or greater) amount of hash power to balance out their share of the network. Certainly they can put up a lot more hash power with $100 then they are selling for $100. Same goes with blade sales. Also so far, most buyers from ASICminer simply paid too much for the product. Man im sorry that happened to you!!  The invasion of youre privacy and not knowing whats missing is the worst.. I used to stay in a really bad neighborhood so lets just say growing up i went through this a few times! One of my neighbors home was emptied with a uhaul .. literally emptied! If you havent figured it out yet the camera you took pictures with is embedding the gps coordinates of where the image was taken. You took the pictures at home.., Uploaded to the forums or ebay and that was that!! Take the photos down if you haven't already. Turn the feature off on youre smartphone or camera! Also you may want to inquire or ask avalon about a unique hardware id.. if you can get youre hardware and give that to people running pools.. If you can see it hashing on the network in a pool somewhere.. Maybe you can offer the bounty to people who run pools!! But first you gotta see if they have hardware id's that can be read via a script. I take it you didnt have a camera setup.. I have a multi camera setup in my home that triggers via motion and records video and audio 24hrs a day so just because you dont have security cameras doesn't mean your neighbors dont! Ask you neighbors and offer a reward for footage of that day or even a few days before to see if they were casing youre home .. Also did the cops take prints ... did the thieves leave cables behind!? If the cops missed it or didnt take prints, have a third party do finger print on the cables and surrounding furniture and what not.. Also are you in the states.. Did you get a power supply by yourself trying to avoid customs issues? Look for youre power supply on craigslist! I believe power supply have a serial on them! Look for the model .. and obviously offer to buy if you find one local and compare serials.. Dont take anything for granted and think when and who you have dialoged with about asic's or bitcoin. Especially someone who has been in youre home! Really sorry that happened to you! Good luck with the hunt.. |

Clearly you guys dont shoot the red light cameras down the minute they go up!
Nonetheless, You can fight a red light ticket .. in fact, class action lawsuits all over claim the redlight cameras are rigged to change from yellow to red at an astrological pace versus their normal counterparts!
This i believe was found out by an engineer who got a ticket in the mail near a university he was attending and while having coffee at a local coffee shop he noticed the speed change from yellow to red and began timing all the cameras in a 5-10 block radius. Then he found out that the city (SF) had given a third party, "the makers of the red-light camera" a deal that they would get a huge percentage of the red-light camera runners they caught! Soon after .. class action lawsuits started cropping up.. A near by city Emeryville California was pressured by the public to take down the cameras after they were found to have generated millions of dollars of tickets a year with no improvement to accidents or public safety!
There was also a case which im not sure of the outcome but, a man got pulled over for a dui and was "forced" to take a breathalyzer test and it was determined that he was shit face drunk according to the machine!!
He later demanded to see the source code of the said device (firmware) and since it was proprietary the company refused !! A big fiasco became of it and in the end they found some erorrs in the source code but the "courts" determined the device was reliable enough or something like that! If i remember correctly it was in MN!
Obviously there is nothing better than an expert witness ("cop testimony") but in cases where machines are liable for the determination of the said crime there are avenues to take that maybe in the favor of the defendant!
As an example! If you ever get a speeding ticket and you were determined by radar to have been speeding.. fight it!!!
when you get to court, if the officer shows up.. ask to see the certificate of the radar gun!! They have to be certified yearly and if the are not calibrated and tested then your case or ticket can be thrown out!

Wow, pulling over, where do you guys live? 70ies? Third world? Here we have speed cameras, and you'll get a nice letter.  The cameras kinda give a shit about passengers too.
