Today is the last match of this T20 series and the decider, Zimbabwe has scored 193/5 in 20 overs. I would consider it to be a good score considering Zimbabwe's batting. The highest scorer for Zimbabwe was Wesley Madhevere, he scored 54. I do not think it will be difficult for Bangladesh to chase this target. At the moment they are comfortably batting at 15/0.

This is perhaps the best performance by Zimbabwe in the series so far. And this time, they were not overdependent on any one batsmen. Almost everyone contributed, including Wessley Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Regis Chakabva, Dion Myers and Ryan Burl. And they started well with the bowling, as the ever reliable Blessing Muzarabani once again picked up a wicket in his very first over. The required run rate is now more than 10 runs per over. This is a golden chance for Zimbabwe to get a rare series win against one of the full member nations.

Virat Kohli never gets any harsh treatment from the BCCI. I think because there is no one in the team or the management who opposes him. If they do they are dropped from the team. He was able to replace Kumble in the past. He is blindly supported by BCCI no matter if he is in fault or not. I guess he might have a strong political support within BCCI and outside too.

At this point, the BCCI bosses needs his support very badly. The BCCI is divided in to two camps. The one led by Sourav Ganguly-Jay Shah-Anurag Thakur is in power now, but they are in a sticky wicket as their majority is bare minimum (out of the 38 state associations, only around 20 support this group). The other camp led by Sharad Pawar-N Srinivasan has remained out of power since the NDA came to power in 2014. Both the camps are not interested in any well being of the game. They are only interested in the $1 billion revenue that BCCI generates every year. Given the conditions, it will be unwise for either of these two camps to antagonize Virat Kohli. So for now, they will dance to his whims and fancies.
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Money flowing out of BTC into Altcoins on: July 25, 2021, 12:37:20 PM
In my opinion, it is better not to liquidate your bitcoins. If you want to invest in altcoins you better use a small number of your bitcoins to buy some altcoins which have strong fundamentals. No one knows for sure if bitcoin has reached its peak, it could be that in the future the price of bitcoin will continue to increase. therefore it is better for you to save bitcoin

The high valuations of various altcoins are not justified by their userbase, volumes or acceptability. Bitcoin remains as the no.1 cryptocurrency in terms of these parameters, and the gap between Bitcoin and the other alts is just too huge. That means that the current valuation of various alts are inflated. Even for the most acceptable alts such as ETH and BNB, the acceptability and mainstream usage is just a fraction of what BTC currently commands. And for other alts such as XRP, DOGE and ADA, the parameters are too low even for a meaningful comparison.

What makes you think that will happen?  Bitcoin was outlawed in China and did we see a bunch of underground exchanges open up, or did we see a mass exodus of bitcoin leaving China while people could still exchange it legally before the crackdown?  We saw the latter, so there's no reason to think that there's going to be a bunch of illegal exchanges popping up to try and get around the law when it becomes illegal to operate one.

There is no need for any new "illegal" exchange. Here in India, less than half of the trading volume is nowadays done through the mainstream exchanges. Hostile government actions since 2018 has made many of the users move to P2P platforms and DEX exchanges. I guess this is the case with China as well. When the legal exchanges closed down, many of the users might have moved to P2P platforms (although doing this in a dictatorship like China is much more than doing the same in India).
525  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is key to the future of Twitter, Jack Dorsey says on: July 25, 2021, 12:13:24 PM
Very interesting.

Obviously Dorsey probably has something in it for himself in order for him to say this. However, I still appreciate the support.

I personally see BTC more of a store of value going into the future, although it definitely has the capacity to scale quite substantially as required. Institutional adoption and investment levels are definitely ramping up, and it's not going to stop any time soon as the new generation who are more comfortable with the idea of BTC enters their primes.

Any asset that is protected against inflation can be used as a store of value. Whenever I make this argument, a lot of users criticize me saying that Bitcoin is too volatile to be used for that purpose. But I don't agree with this argument. Usage as a store of value doesn't mean that you need to sell your asset after 3 months or 6 months. In most of the cases, it is for the long-term. And if you check the historical prices of BTC, it can be seen that BTC has never given a negative return ever since it's creation, if held for more than 12 months.
526  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: July 25, 2021, 12:01:27 PM
I haven't lost my job, nor have I lost someone due to Covid-19, however, the pandemic has really taken a toll on me too, especially psychologically. It's a tiring situation but hopefully, I believe that we're towards the start of the end. We still have a long way to go, but now we're better prepared, we know how to take precautions, and we also have effective vaccines to assist us on this journey.

I would say that you are relatively lucky. In my country, most of us were not as lucky as you. In my family and close relatives, we had two deaths in the last 4 months. One was my second cousin who was aged 38, while the other was my uncle who was in his 60s. Both of them died after contracting COVID, although my cousin was suffering from terminal stage cancer. Among my friends, almost everyone have lost at least one family member or close relative. The second wave was very destructive here in India, and we had around 5 million excess deaths during that period.

^^Its dead rubber game for fans except srilankan's fans but today India again experimenting with new set of combination. 5 debutants Sanju Samson, Nitish Rana, Rahul Chahar, Chetan Sakariya and K Gowtham, not much stake for India. On the other hand Sri lanka need to win at least one game and gain some points. In last game they lost some points due to slow over rate.

ODI matches are no longer dead rubber, as the points count towards ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League. For India, a win is needed today, if they want to target the no.1 position. For Sri Lanka, now it is do or die situation, as they are placed at the 12th spot (even below Netherlands and Ireland). Their chances of directly qualifying for the world cup look slim, but some hope will be alive if they get 10 points from today's game. It is really pathetic.... Sri Lanka has played 11 matches till now, and they have won just once.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 23, 2021, 06:01:38 AM
CA-BCB are confirming the upcoming tour and BCB seems confident about it but i'm still not sure as CA has a habit of backing down from their commitment at the last moment. They did the same with Proteas last year and covid cases are increasing in Bangladesh. Who knows if they come up with the same excuse one more time? So i'll wait for Aussie team to land in Dhaka first.

It is due to the government restrictions. CA will be helpless, in case the Australian government ask them to cancel the tour. Right now, a lot of controversy is ongoing related to the refusal by Australian and New Zealand teams to participate in the Rugby League World Cup. The tournament is taking place in England from 23rd October onwards, but the top two teams (Aus and NZ) have pulled out citing the worsening COVID situation in the host nation. Since the situation is worsening in Bangladesh as well, the prospects look gloomy for me.
529  Economy / Economics / Re: EU wants to ban crypto anonymous transactions and wallets on: July 22, 2021, 02:57:44 PM
What a load of BS? How we are supposed to remove the anonymity from our transactions? Are they saying that everyone should register whatever cryptocurrency addresses they have with some central authority and then undergo KYC process? All the best with such draconian moves. Let me see how successful they are. I have no words to describe those guys who put these stupid proposals. These are just retarded suggestions. These guys don't have enough information about cryptocurrency and think that it is something similar to fiat/banking system.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dissapointments of the creation of the thousands of failed altcoins. on: July 22, 2021, 02:33:13 PM
Failed altcoins are generally scammers, but it seems difficult for everyone to analyze which project is a scam. Many people invest with everyone without thinking about themselves, and there are also many scammers who will find people with fans to make hype and publicity, so that everyone will usually be deceived. There are still many copycats that are issued normally, but no one pays attention or purchases them, so they will slowly die.

Being around here for almost 5 years now, it is very difficult for me to agree with you. Not all the failed projects are scams. Sometimes really good projects fail to attract interest from the investors, due to a variety of reasons. It can be due to general downtrend in the market, or due to issues in marketing of the project. And also, not all of the scam projects fail at the market. We already have two such shitcoins in the top-10 list, with a market cap of more than $25 billion. So you need to be more careful while generalizing projects based on their success in the market.
531  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: July 22, 2021, 02:04:19 PM
Among low-income economies, where vaccination has lagged, growth has been revised lower to 2.9%.
~~~
Vaccines are in short supply at the moment. Developed nations have achieved a vaccination rate of 50% to 80%. On the other hand, the global average is just 13.3% (for full vaccination). For most of the third world nations, the percentage of individuals who have been fully vaccinated stand at 1%-2%. And even more worryingly, the developed nations have mostly used vaccines from Sinovac, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca, while the developed nations are using the more effective vaccines from Pfizer, Janssen and Moderna.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 22, 2021, 01:49:05 PM
All three T20 will be easily won by Bangladesh, unless they do something weird. Zimbabwe lacks experience it shows in their game. If they play more matches with good team they will become a team that could win matches. Two more matches are left they might come back.
Things look gloomy for Zimbabwe. Bangladesh needs another 30 runs from 3.3 overs, with 8 wickets in hand. Lately there have been a wobble with Bangladesh, as Mahmudullah is back in the pavilion to an unwanted run out. Only during the initial few overs of the first innings, it looked as if Zimbabwe could match their opponents. After that, Bangladesh just dominated the match. Unless the Bangladeshi batsmen throw their wickets away at this point, they should cruise comfortably to a victory in this match.
533  Economy / Economics / Re: On Cuba and economy on: July 22, 2021, 01:18:29 PM
I think the protests is because of the pandemic not being able to resolved or being under control by the current regime. Plus another reason is that people are probably sick and tired of the current regime because they haven't made the lives of their countrymen easier which proves that communism doesn't work in practice.
Communism/Socialism sounds really nice in theory. But it can never be put in to practice. In case of Cuba, since it is a socialist country ideally there should be zero unemployment, and medical care/education available to everyone. But that is not the case. Medical care is free, but what is the point when there are not enough doctors? Since the government has run low on Forex, they have sent Cuban doctors to other Latin American countries, in order to earn forex revenue. And now coming to the jobs, in theory there is no unemployment. But the average average monthly salary is around $25 (as of 2016).
534  Other / Archival / Re: El Salvadorans are not happy about accepting bitcoin as a means of payment on: July 22, 2021, 01:06:15 PM
I am quite suspicious about these protests. It needs to be seen who is provoking the people. As far as ordinary El Salvadorans are concerned, I guess they will be better off with Bitcoin, rather than with the US Dollar (the national currency - Salvadoran Colon is no longer in use). Fluctuation in the exchange rate is a concern, but at least BTC is not losing its purchasing power as badly as the US Dollar. It is beyond my comprehension why some people prefer to use the USD, despite the big spending plans announced by Biden recently. The purchasing power of the USD is going to drop like a rock.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 22, 2021, 12:54:31 PM
Once again, Zimbabwe wasted a good chance and ended up with a mediocre total (152 all out). And as expected, Bangladesh has started well. I am getting really tired with this Zimbabwe team. I lost the count of occasions where they wasted good beginnings. After 10 overs, Zimbabwe were at 91/2. Can you believe what happened after that? They made 62 runs in the next 10 overs, after losing 8 wickets. This is beyond pathetic. The middle order folded up without even attempting a fight. Do we need such teams in international cricket? Really feel bad for Blessing Muzarabani. He is wasting his talent in this shit team.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 22, 2021, 12:42:45 PM
Both needs advertisement because they have a bad reputation with the Indian crypto community. If you search them on Reddit you will read a lot of problems that users face while using these platforms. They are spending the money that they have generated from investors and if these advertisements do not work for them they will drop these kinds of marketing strategy.
If I need to use any of the Indian exchanges, then I would go for WazirX. Because they are being owned by the most reputable and largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world (Binance). I don't trust any of the other exchanges, such as ZebPay, CoinDCX, CoinSwitch Kuber and Bitbns. That said, the vast majority of the cryptocurrency users in India use P2P platforms to trade their coins (especially of the trade volume is of small to medium size). No one really want to take the hassle of providing the KYC information to the Indian exchanges, since this data is being used by the IT department to harass users.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Projects and Bounty . Way forward?? on: July 21, 2021, 07:23:03 PM
I have participated in so many bounty campaigns, the selection is still based on who the manager is in favor of it. It is very reasonable that we have been bound along with our time and energy in completing all the tasks that have been specified in the rules of a campaign that we have registered/followed, meaning that after everything is appropriate our schedule is not in vain and we get rewarded even though the distribution is delayed and sometimes changes and decreases.
Many of the good bounty managers are no longer active in this forum. The problem is that whenever something goes wrong with the campaign, the bounty manager receives the entire blame. The users don't really care whether the bounty manager can do anything within his power or not. In many such instances, the campaign manager may also be a victim. After a while, many of the honest bounty managers decide not to participate in such campaigns. And the new projects opt for relatively inexperienced campaign managers. And this opens a can of worms, as most of these new managers may not be honest.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Number of altcoins keep increasing! on: July 21, 2021, 07:10:07 PM
That is just the nature of open source code. Everybody can take it and make a coin very easily. When they see how some do it and get rich over night by selling to the public, it attracts attention from even more amateurish developers who then try to do the same. But as you said, the chance for success these days with a shit coin is close to zero.
Copycat projects made a lot of profit back in the 2017 and 2018. But then the investors (at least most of them) became more cautious. But the most tragic outcome out of this was that due to the influx of scam projects, even genuine projects failed to get enough funding. There were some good projects such as Deep Onion and Veil which failed, because they couldn't attract enough interest from the users. Users were simply afraid to invest in the new projects, irrespective of their specifications and development plans.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 21, 2021, 06:57:54 PM
With their latest defeats, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe remain at the bottom of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League points table. Sri Lanka has played a total of 11 matches, and have 13 points to their name, while Zimbabwe has 10 points from 6 matches. Zimbabwe will be taking on Ireland on a 3-match ODI series next month, while for Sri Lanka, they don't have any scheduled tours this year (unless some of the previously postponed series is rescheduled after the end of the T20 world cup). Their ODI series against South Africa, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan were postponed due to COVID.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game 💰 Postponed 21 on: July 21, 2021, 04:40:52 PM
I happen to like to watch it live on TV.
But this year, I'll have to resort to recordings or daily summaries.  Roll Eyes
You have to watch sports events live. Else, the excitement won't be there. What is the point in watching a game, if you already know who is the winner? At least this is the case for me. I hardly ever watch recorded matches (although sometimes I go for 5-10 minutes highlights). Being a resident of India, the timing can't get anymore perfect for me. Most of the disciplines start at around 6am and go on until 8 pm (Indian time). And since I am working from home, I can watch whatever event I like, live on TV.
