561  Other / Meta / Re: The curious case of the forum member distrusting Satoshi on: June 27, 2020, 12:42:43 PM
Therefore I believe that he has some mental disorders or he does not know what he did -- meaning that maybe he wanted to add Satoshi to his Trust List but instead he added him to the distrust list.

Ideas Huh
At first glance, my first assumption is that he is a Filipino because I strongly believe that his name was derived from Pres. Rodrigo Duterte (our current president) but I am not sure of it because there are tendencies that it was just a coincidence. So I visit his post history to find more clues and yeah I found out that he is a Filipino for real — no doubt. Read this post

In my point of view, he was a troublesome member. The way he post seems so rude for me. I don't even know what's wrong with him. Nevertheless, on behalf of the Filipino community, I want to say sorry. This is so embarassing for all of us because my fellow countrymen became the only one who distrust satoshi. What a shame! Undecided
562  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: June 27, 2020, 08:01:49 AM
Even in the long term, I see Bitcoin as an alternative, for when you want to purchase something anonymously or something. The system of Bitcoin right now is way too forced and is mostly seen as an investment or speculative asset, which really kills the concept of what Bitcoin is supposed to be. This just makes users that have Bitcoin hodl, instead of actually using them for everyday life as a currency.
That's a hard fact. I actually don't know what to feel regarding this matter. Yeah I'm glad because I'm earning through bitcoin since I mainly treat it as a tradable asset but at the same time there's something on the back of my mind telling me that "Is it really what Satoshi wanted?". You're right, we are going away from crypto's real vision. But I hope we can still use it for our own advantage. Maybe we can use btc's huge value and volatility features to attract more and more adopters in the future until the price became more stable thus later on become like the usual currency we used today but of course a more high tech version of it Smiley
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are happy only when the price goes up? on: June 27, 2020, 05:13:42 AM
If we assume that there are only people with huge fortunes on bitcoin, then yes, it's too bad if the price goes down. But, except from those guys, there are the ones who are waiting to buy more. We never heard anything from them  Roll Eyes
I guess those people you are pertaining with is just bunch of newbies who still don't appreciate the volatility of bitcoin Grin. Because if you encountered real investors which are experienced, you will change your mind. Most of them (including me) love the bearish days too. Yeah! I admit that it was a little bit frustrating in our part because it bring negative ambiance after all, but instead of being lonely the whole day, the wiser thing to do is to hoard more of course. Sounds greedy but I guess that's just a part of continuing the circulation.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance deserves the first Position on CMC on: June 27, 2020, 02:26:15 AM
I totally agree with you because Binance is the most popular exchange in the whole world and as for me the most secure, also many traders trading only on Binance exchange and in general for many years I have never had any problem with Binance and will always use Binance for trading.
I am also using this exchange, and until now this exchange has always attracted the attention of investors.
Don't get me wrong guys, Binance is one of the most popular and dominating exchange so far and their BNB coin is successful as well. But whatever happens, it will not go on top and replace bitcoin to its throne so easily. Its popularity is not the main criteria for a particular coin to be reigned as the king, its market cap does. Therefore, BNB coin should need more a lot of investors before achieving that spot Smiley.
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life soundtrack for Gamblers? on: June 26, 2020, 02:08:58 PM
The catchy sound of slots is what makes it exciting to play, this is just for the sound effects. As for the music, the genre for rap, it's also catchy and makes the moment of gamblers intense.

Rap music isn't suited for casino games, Electronic music that has beat is well suited for gambling promotions.
Yup! I agree on that. In my opinion, it is so hassle if they will choose a famous recorded song because of copyright issues so I think a more convenient if they just hire a dj or an artist creative with synthsizers and everything. They can add familiar sounds on the beat such as rolling dice, deck shuffle, spinning roulette etc. To make it more catchy and remarkable for the players Smiley.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 26, 2020, 09:47:20 AM
This is what I like to see, I have no doubt it him so for sure he can give a championship to this team.
However, he might be expensive that only big franchise in the NBA can afford him at the moment,
I think that should be PBA instead of NBA Smiley.

Anyway, If you will ask me I'll go with Tim Cone. I look on their career records and I found out that they got the same age (I can't believe it either, I thought Austria is older than him, my whole life is a lie lmao) but Tim got more awards compare to Leo. Both of them got coaching experiences on international scene but I might say Tim's are still bigger. Don't get me wrong, I'm not biased or hating the other. I know that they already prove their worth in this sports and I recognized it. Huge respect for these coaches.

567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 26, 2020, 06:05:38 AM
Who agrees with him? personally I became a fan of the Alaska Aces it was already coach Tim Cone who coaches the team.

Tim cone for me a definition of a good team he can transform a team to become a good team, just like what he did with the Ginebra Kings.

I agree with him, Tim Cone is one of the greatest coach in the PBA. Just take a look at the team he coached after Alaska, they were accomplishing things that i think won't be achieved if coach Tim was not there. BMEG/Magnolia did have a grandslam under him which i think is very hard to duplicate.
Indeed, he will not be called "The Winningest Coach" for nothing because we all witnessed how he earned it over the years. I'm convinced with his coaching skills because he even made a "kangkungan" (GSM lol) back on its track. He made me realized that you don't necessarily need to build an All Star Team to secure the championship — it seems that a good strategist is enough. So if Tim will go to weaker teams in the future like Columbian Dyip or NLEX, I might say that he can make it a champion too Grin. What do you guys think?
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is More Popular Than Traditional Banks on: June 26, 2020, 03:50:19 AM
Bitcoin is still growing it is not popular as traditional Bank...
Indeed, not yet so popular so far. But I believe it will be more popular in the future as our generation gets better and better. The technology becomes higher and far from the traditional living Smiley.

Anyway, I give the benefit of the doubt on the survey conducted which is mentioned by OP, but I think using the word "more popular" is the right term. Much appropriate to say "more trusted" (I just based on the conclusion).
569  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Make it just a little more difficult to create a new account. on: June 26, 2020, 01:42:28 AM
Registering by email or phone number will not solve the problems with fraud. There are many services on the Internet with temporary emails and phone numbers, they are either free or very cheap.
Yeah you're right. It really seems that it doesn't make any contributions at all because at the end of the day the fraudsters will always find a way but I don't see with improving the forum's system as well. So why not Cheesy? Fraudsters might not be affected but I think spammers will do. They may realize that undergoing several stages just to make an account for spamming is not worth of their time anymore — this means less pollution inside.
570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earn and save in Satoshi on: June 25, 2020, 02:39:36 PM
[snip]
To be honest, I'm holding into it more tightly Wink. So don't worry too much. Besides, as you will notice on the current price chart, the prices are not affected so negatively thus I believe that most of the investors will continue hodling/trading unless they are now facing a strong financial crisis (but that was deeply understandable anyway).
But that is not the same thing as the others. Most probably sold their crypto the same as me due to the pandemic issue we have.
I think I made myself clear, I highlighted it for you. I am not against selling in these recent times because I understand that most of us are now pressured. That's why I said that it was understandable if most of us sell the coins we have.

You are lucky that you were able to keep your holdings unlike me who recently sold my crypto due to the said reason. I regret it since I really want to hold it for a long time but what can I do if I really need the money.
I feel sorry for you. You know what, don't regret if you think that you sell your coins too early. You did a right choice because surviving is the top priority so don't feel guilty for what you've done. Just don't give up and always look on the bright side. We can all make it Smiley!
571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earn and save in Satoshi on: June 25, 2020, 12:01:34 PM
Hi everyone, i understand that the global pandemic has caused different economic scenes in the world; but if you are still into crypto currency and bitcoin or you are about giving up on it.

Nonetheless, thanks for the word of encouragement. I hope the beginners out there will be inspired of doing the right thing.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Building up your reputations as a new bounty manager on: June 25, 2020, 08:09:46 AM
1. Julerz12
2. Wapinter
Indeed, I agree that they are both reputable bounty managers even though I haven't try joining bounties because I was able to work with them in one of the sig campaigns they run before. Actually, julerz12 is my kababayan (fellow countrymen) and he is well known on our local board. So I can guarantee that you will not getting scammed once you enter his campaign Smiley.

Just a simple tip for new bounty hunters out there. If you are choosing a bounty, don't only make a research on the project because sometimes the manager is the main problem. Don't forget to look at their portfolio or previous works so that you can determine how trustworthy they are.
573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of shitcoins on: June 25, 2020, 03:39:52 AM
The coin was METP, I invested at the price of $0.0004 some weeks ago, but the coin is now at $0.000002, I invested $100 and it has now vanished, I do not even have $1 remaining again and it was a lost that really depressed me.

A wiser move would supposed to be investing within this time frame because this is the time where most of the investors did not dump their coins yet. But unfortunately, you already invested on the time when the coin is considered a sh*tcoin already. From $0.0145 to $0.0004 and going down to $0.000002, the trend continue to fall down and I don't think it will bounce back. I feel sorry for you but I think you should sell now even if it's hard. At least you able to cut your losses somehow.

So next time, don't invest in new token or if you really are into alts then at least dump fast Grin. Good luck.
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Interview with Stake.com CEO Reveals Plans for Tether Betting + New Games. on: June 25, 2020, 01:43:51 AM
It's been a while since my friend registered in Stake and play there, for sure he will be surprised with this news. He can now expect a wider variety of games to choose from and will no longer settle on dice Cheesy. And as far as I remember, he mentioned that he is using ethereum for betting but maybe consider to use a stablecoin as well after sharing this. Thanks!
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 24, 2020, 02:04:18 PM
My point is, as long as there are careless players then no casino will operate that long and reclose once again. Same thing applied in every field or industry.

Then this should be applied to other industries, like Salon, Grocery stores and etc. , if that's your point, then there's no reason the aforementioned business will also operate. Careless individual are everywhere, not only in casino, there are also careless people in church, and why the government allowed it to open?
Hmm because of falling economy?

I strongly believe that our government want to extend hard lockdowns until the vaccine finally invented or at least diminish the number of cases until they can isolate it more easily. But since we are not as rich as the other countries, we can't afford to spend with no gains in return for a longer period of time thus they have no choice but to open the industry. And as a consequence, we experience a slow flattening of curve.

As of yesterday, our country got the highest daily record of 1,150 new cases (Fresh: 789 Late: 361) via Rappler. Do you believe no single person out of it got the virus without even doing any lapses at all? I don't think so. Inspite of that, I'm not blaming anyone.
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 24, 2020, 08:40:30 AM
My regulation would be to ensure no business can reopen (before vaccine) after failing to distance their customers, thats their one chance gone and also any inspection that shows poor management would also mean closure on public health grounds.   If the rules are implemented in that way, the business should be self regulating and fearing the effects of outbreaks to their revenue.

That's the kind of strict measures that needs to be implemented, if they will not comply, they will be closed and they won't be re open again until the vaccine is release, I think that way casinos will be more vigilant and they will ensure to implement the guidelines effectively.
Strict implementation of safety protocols are great however everything still depends on the self-discipline possessed by each and everyone. Sometimes I think that the virus is no longer the reason why we are suffering until now because it can be contained anyway. The problem I saw right now is the disobedience of the rules. I feel bad because it seems that people already forgot social distancing etc. etc. right after the government uplift ECQs and shift into GCQ. Most of them thought they are now resilient from the virus.

My point is, as long as there are careless players then no casino will operate that long and reclose once again. Same thing applied in every field or industry.

Honestly, I noticed that people out here are now back to normal — not the "new normal" Roll Eyes. What more on the urban areas with greater population. But well I hope everything I observed is just an underestimation.
577  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brave browser hijacking links and affiliate codes! on: June 24, 2020, 04:24:50 AM
Lot's of people are using Brave browser now, and thinking it is privacy based browser.
It is fork of Chrome browser, and people noticed that browser owners have been using their own affiliate links to earn.
They also delete all traces and talks about it on intenret.
Oh God! I switched to Brave once again after I've read a thread regarding about the Chromes harmful extensions, and now I see this! I thought from the very beginning that Brave browser is safe to use that's why many people trusted it (including me) but everything was a lie. Well, let's accept that Privacy is just a fiction in the online world because I feel that there are eyes watching on us wherever we visit Undecided. It seems that we got no choice but to pick our own posion, so choose wisely.

Hmm any safer recommendations for mobile devices?
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Movie about SATOSHI Nakamoto on: June 23, 2020, 12:15:59 PM
Adding is quite off for a movie idea like this, it could've been made more of like the Snowden, real life based movie of the most famous american whistleblower agaisnt NSA. Making it gore looks like disgusting to me, you don't see a lot of blood in a futuristic movie if it will be done that way. I suggests them to follow the story of snowden, a government organization who is after a man with their copied data, looks Satoshi's story for me too.
Yeah! You got a point. Making the movie gory is too much because the attention of the audience will be directed to the bloody scenes instead of the main story Grin. But I'm still hoping for some brutal scenes since torturing is already mentioned.

The idea of making it similar to Snowden is fine with me too. Though it is a little bit boring but I'm confident that many people would love it especially the computer geeks.
579  Economy / Economics / Re: Which is better, staking or investing? on: June 23, 2020, 06:27:35 AM
The good thing in staking is that you can earn passively (as in literally passive) since you let the money work for you and all you need to do is to wait. However, your success still depends on the future of the project you choose. Plus, a huge initial capital is required here unlike to common crypto investing where you can buy small amounts and make it grow as time goes by.

So if I were asked which is better, I still go for crypto investing not only because of its easier availability but also I feel more secured knowing the fact that I hold and manipulate my own money. Well, It still depends on how far can you take the risk anyway Cheesy.
580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not be deceived by sending PM. on: June 23, 2020, 03:43:19 AM
Long story in short. I believe some of you have read this story. I think it's quite important issue especially for newbies and this topic will serve as awareness.
He is a newbie for real because he got victimized by an obvious untrustworthy member. Most probably he did not look on his trust ratings first before dealing with him. I just feel sad because he give his trust in exchange of betrayal. I can't believe that there people who have the guts to do bad against their fellow Sad.  Fortunately he lost only a small amount of money.
I don't know how should I describe it since very long story. This type of scam story new for me. Its call triangle scam actually. [...]
I'm a little bit confused actually so please correct me if I'm wrong. So what are you trying to say is that if I gave my btc address on a particular telegram user (which is also a btctalk member) then he will use my own address for scamming people afterwards. Am I right? What a tricky modus but not smart IMO
