561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Specie (SPX) - *** ICO NOW LIVE!!! *** | RARE COIN | PURE POS 2.0 | ** Bounties!! on: June 27, 2015, 09:24:03 PM
On the Specie website...both wallet links are Mac...although one states "Windows," it downloads a Mac wallet. What the heck?

That's not surprising since it's just a quick copy paste to have something up on the web.  The exchange link doesn't work either even though it's on yobit.  The block explorer link to  http://spx.altexplorers.info:3022/ works and you can see that somebody is currently staking coins right now even though the ico is still running.  That changes the total coin amount to 225,387.  You would be best off to avoid this one.  It's just a "grab the btc and run" scheme.

562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Specie ANN] *** SPXcard - Hardware Wallet for Specie *** on: June 27, 2015, 07:28:11 PM
I knew it, just a lot of fluff talk without a single piece of verifiable information or the name of anyone that you have approached to make this alleged card. If you are not able to say who you have approached to make this card or provide any verifiable information this is clearly a scam.

Please dev, which card manufacturer have you approached to get some offers to have your cards made? This is easy, all the card manufacturers are above board and will not have any issues with answering a questions. Give me a good reason why you can't tell us that?
You knew what exactly? Aside from how to repeat questions that have no value

No one cares about what you are trying to complain about. Cards are a commodity and can be bought easily. Card manufacturers are a dime a dozen.

Here's a site that you may not have heard of but might help with your learning process:

The site below will have help for you if the above site is too complex for you to manage:

So your links to alibaba and google prove that this crap is legitimate?  And questions regarding the legitimacy of an ico where they are asking people to invest their btc have plenty of value.  The individual launching this coin has time to make a dozen different ANNs but they can't answer one single question posed by numerous people.

So do you think an ico selling 44% of total coin supply while the dev holds the other 56% is something that people shouldn't question?  Do you actually think that buying this coin and then buying the phantom staking hardware and cards from the same individual launching the ico is a recipe for success?  What the hell is the purpose of this besides moving btc from the gullible into the wallets of the scammer?

Those are just some very simple questions that anyone with a brain should be asking.  Maybe since you are so smart you can provide a decent answer to at least one of them.

It's the same scam used dozens of times just a different approach.  They are in negotiations blah blah blah.  Things are still to be determined blah blah blah.  They are weighing options blah blah blah.  More information on our website blah blah blah.   Yet there is nothing on their website except a link to buy this crap.  And the same old generic crap that all these scam coins say:

Optimized Distributed Apps
Smart Contracts
Decentralized Markets
Superior Merchant Services
Hardware Wallets
Staking Appliances
blah blah blah blah blah

Since you seem to think this is such a winner then why don't you buy out the ico?  For a measly 8.7 btc you can clear what's left and have 35% of the total coins.   Just remember that the dev controls 56% of the total coin supply.  How can this not be a winner?  Go ahead and put your money where your mouth is.
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: *** SPECIE ICO LIVE on YoBit *** on: June 27, 2015, 05:31:46 PM
Infographics are provided by our web designer.

Many of the details around Specie have been announced in previous posts.

Specie can be used with hardware wallets such as the SPXcard - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1098863

Specie hardware staking appliances will be available soon (ahead of schedule) with development from community members - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1100437

The Specie model is a sustainable hardware model that is simple.

9M coins is the total to ever be created but only 225K coins have been premined and are available for distribution. Specie is pure PoS at 5% so coin creation is slow and only by staking.

There are only 225K coins available and only 5% per year can be created but Staking Appliances (e.g. SPaker) and wallets (e.g. SPXcard) will be for sale for Specie. There a very limited supply of coins available but there is built in demand.

225,000 coins with 100,000 or 44% used for the ico.  You still have 56% of the total coin supply.  You are keeping for yourself more than the total coins allocated for the ico.  That is completely ridiculous.  If you have a good explanation as to how that can be a good thing for anyone foolish enough to invest in this then please provide that explanation.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: *** SPECIE ICO LIVE on YoBit *** on: June 27, 2015, 05:28:09 PM
You never did answer some very simple questions in one of the other threads.  When people won't answer a simple question while trying to get people to give them their money it is typically 100% scam.

The ico is for 44% of the 225,000 coins and you hold the other 56% of that 225,000 coins.  You list bounties payed out for 33,000 coins so that leaves another 92,000 coins or 40% of the entire coins that you are free to dump as you please once the ico ends.  On top of that you're intention is to sell currently nonexistent hardware and cards wallets yet you have nothing tangible just the same old promises used by every scamcoin that has come before you.

Have you ever heard of the Brooklyn Bridge?  I'll sell it to you real cheap.

Specie - The Coin of Coins ...

Ninja move coming up ...

I'm some what confused... there is a ICO on Yobit for 11 BTC (total of 100,000 coins) and then i see this

Code:
Name: Specie
Symbol: SPX
PoS: 2.0 (PoS Only)
Total Coins: 9M SPX
[b]Premine: 2.5% (225,000SPX)[/b]
Yearly Interest: 5%
Block Time: 120 Seconds
Min stake age: 1 day, Max age: Unlimited

225,000 premine??? So you have 100,000 coins for ICO + 225,000 premine? or another 25 BTC for free???

Thank you for bringing this up. We want to make sure there is clarification so people understand what we are trying to accomplish.

There is a total pre-mine of 225,000 SPX.

Of those 225,000 SPX, 100,000 are up for the ICO.

The remaining SPX distribution has been described in the OP, highlights include:

10K for logo
22K for website
1K for Block explorer

We have been giving away coins, pre selling coins and auctioning coins separate from the ICO quantity.
Other coins are being allocated to staking for network security purposes and future bounties.

Information specific to the ICO can be found in this dedicated thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1097668.0

There are only 225K coins total in existence (plus some staked) and the interest is only 5% so these are rare coins that we are distributing as widely as possible while still working towards our development goals.

Who claimed the bounties?  And what about the other 92,000 coins which are 40% of the total coins.  So basically your trying to sell 44% in the ico while keeping the other 56% of total coins.  Totally ridiculous.

I find it hard to believe that people actually fell for this.  The thing with these scams is that anyone with a brain knew it was a scam.  If you try and warn people they call you a fudder that just wants cheap coins.  Nobody with any intelligence wanted this coin regardless of price.  This thread has however been a great source of amusement.  I found myself checking this thread from time to time whenever I needed a good laugh.

Guys could you explain me what is ICO, really cant understand it.
I am seeing SPX but need to know what is happening.

ICO is a method for transferring wealth.  You send your btc and in return you get some worthless coins and a bunch of promises.

If we could convince shapeshift.io to add us that could really help us as well.

If BBR was added to shapeshift.io how could that help us? Just curious.

It can't and it won't happen anyway.  BBR is already on the three exchanges that trade cryptonote coins.  Poloniex, Bitttrex, and BTER.  If I missed any maybe someone could post that information.  Another exchange won't do anything.  It's highly unlikely that any exchange that hasn't already taken the steps to transact in cryptonote coins is going to do so.

Shapeshift does support XMR so your last sentence wouldn't describe them.

Oh you're correct.  I didn't know that. But I do now.  I didn't know they had cryptonote coins listed.  Never used them.  It's not the first time I've put my foot in my mouth and it definitely won't be the last.  I stand corrected.  Regardless, being added to shapeshift likely wouldn't have any noticeable impact on BBR.  However, it would still be beneficial to be listed.

I'm starting to like full POS coin, just because they avoid all the miners dump in loss to destroy the market. But I'm getting pretty diffident in investing in ICO coin, one is good hundreds are shit. It's an hard decision, at least this one has a nice graphic, many times it's more important than the product itself.

Are you serious?

It coin seemed dead,do you have any roadmap?     exchange?

I'm trying to get a block explorer organised and will then try to get Chaincoin on an exchange again.

This one is still working http://blockexperts.com/chc

Just a few observations.

The 9.1.60 wallet works great.  It syncs fast and the footprint is much smaller than previous releases.

I am now using the Credits wallet as my main bitcoin wallet.  I haven't had any issues sending and receiving bitcoin from the Credits wallet.  I still keep a bitcoin node running and the bulk of my bitcoin in an offline wallet and will continue to do so.  I have been keeping a bitcoin node running and my main bitcoin wallet offline for some time.   I do it so I have rapid access to my bitcoin.  But the Credits wallet is what I have been using for the last month for bitcoin transactions.  It's been working out just fine.

I'm still mining off and on and will continue to do so.  Everything for this coin is in place and has been done in a very professional manner.

So with that said I would like to give the dev and others kudos for a job well done.

Took me about 15 minutes to sync. Not that fast if you ask me.

Yes it does take longer than most wallets to sync but it is blazing fast today compared to when the coin launched.  The wallet does have to sync two blockchains.  Credits and Bitcoin.

It would be nice if the sync time was faster.  But for now it is a little slow.

574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DSH] Dashcoin (Cryptonote, automated source) on: June 19, 2015, 03:47:27 AM
How exactly will Dash be trademarked when its used everywhere from Amazon Dash to Kardashian dash?

I was wondering that as well.  When I did a search on the TESS site there were numerous entities using the name DASH.  Actually 1181 but not all of those are DASH exclusively.  I found Halliburton, Amazon, and numerous other large corporations with registration applications.  It's doubtful that the former Darkcoin is going to be able to trademark DASH.  They might have a $16 million market capitalization but these other companies are dealing with tens if not hundreds of billions.  Many of those applications go back before the Darkcoin genesis block was even created.

It's likely safe to say that the former Darkcoin will not be granted a trademark for DASH and I think they know it by now.

Okay well first of all trademarks are specific to a product category. KarDAHSians has nothing to do with a cryptocurrency unless the are selling software or possibly financial products.

Second, I don't think it's a bad idea for someone closely involved with the dashcoin community to file objections with trademark office as MarleysGhost suggested, not only to Evan's application but to the others as well. The term has been widely used by a large number of separate people and businesses for 1+ year now. Anyone claiming to be an exclusive user of the term to identify a source in a related line of business is mistaken or being misleading.

But I'm not closely involved with dashcoin, so it isn't my call, just my opinion.

I am fully aware of everything you stated.  There are a number of software and financial entities that show up with dates prior to the former Darkcoin genesis block even being born.  I just found it somewhat naive that some were touting the trademark registration as a done deal as if that would somehow increase the price of the former Darkcoin.  That was some time ago and there hasn't been any conversation from the former Darkcoin people for some time now.  It's possible that they could be granted the trademark but I wouldn't bet a wooden nickle that it will ever happen.  Besides, I don't see how that would be of much benefit as it's common knowledge of the issues with Darkcoins launch and the fact that the majority of masternodes are held by just a few individuals.  The code is open source.  Any entity of any significance that wants to use it  will just continue to use bitcoin or clone the Darkcoin source for their own needs.  I don't see the former Darkcoin seeing any significant adoption and it will likely remain a day trading entity controlled by a few as it is today.

I also have no involvement with Dashcoin.  I have just been following the saga after being completely disgusted by the former Darkcoin tactics and the arrogance that was displayed.
