561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin have behaved like a fine wine 🍷 on: January 02, 2024, 11:37:45 AM
Bitcoin is really a fine wine,🍷 because it gets better with age, since it creation, it has progress significantly into an asset that is worth having,  from the days when it's value was not even up to $100 to now that it's over $42000 plus, I just believe that after this next halving it will gets even better, and now is the best time to DCA into Bitcoin, because the reward will be worthy of the wait.

Right now, it's just a 14 years old teenager still trying to find it feet in terms of adoption all over the world.
But am really confidence that it will get even better from it value, popularity and adoption because it's a fine wine 🍷 that gets better with age.

I think just like most other assets, they developed overtime like Gold. But the thing with Bitcoin though is that it is the first, the prime mover and so everyone jump on the bandwagon and it's throughout it's young infancy, and as far as the price goes it has developed and now we are entering another block halving, and so for sure we will be looking for a new all time high again.

Let's see in the next 14 years, and yes maybe it will really grow as we expected and the value itself will be like in the 6 digits, or as you describe it, a fine wine, a highest quality crypto.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao II on: January 02, 2024, 11:09:07 AM
It seems that Pacquiao is loaded with matches this 2024. Looking at his perspective, this is literally a prosperous new year for him. Whilst for both of them, there is nothing to prove anymore on their ends. This is an exhibition and if Pacquiao wins on this match, Floyd will just say it is fine and it is an exhibition but will he allow that to happen since he is undefeated and I think that even with this type of match, he is serious about it. IMHO, both are winners when these matches comes because they will baghold sums of money in here as they are still in demand and they have global fans that are willing to watch and wait for this match. I want to see Pacquiao win even for this exhibition because for sure that he is too eager to beat Floyd even with just honor that is on stake and about the share, I guess it is still Floyd that has a larger cut for the sales.

The Buakaw fight is just coming soon and here Pacquiao is talking about the Mayweather fight, and so is Mayweather the Gotti fight is not yet happening and now he is booked to fight Pacquiao, people will be more interested in this fight than any exhibition fight that happens in the past, and that includes all the Paul brother fights.
In the past when a boxer retires he will just manage boxers or set up a gym so he can continue to practice his boxing skills, but not anymore now, if you're a popular champion who just retired you can still make money from doing exhibition matches.

Maybe at early this year they already have negotiation about this match up and they have good insights that Mayweather would agree since Pacquiao already said that match will going to happen. For sure he will not release that statement if there's no discussion happened for both camp so this is really more exciting since many people want this match up to happen since they have unfinished business that need to settle since their fans keep debating on who is more stronger than them. Pacquiao fans is not done yet with certain discussion even if Pacquiao lose on their first meet up since they are not been impressed for the result shown. But know maybe it can seal the long time discussion and both of them can prove that they are more better compare to what other fans say on both of them. For sure this will be one of the dream fight which every boxer fans to watch.

I think it will happen, there's too much money in the table that this two can't refused. Just a matter of timing and the availability of Manny and Floyd. Yes, even if this is just an exhibition match and not the rematch that we wanted, still many fans around the world is going to watch it.

Their communications could be open for all we know and they could have been talking already. I think the Buakaw could be a tune up fight for Manny, and with a good money and the offer and terms is so attractive that he accepted it easily. And then after this fight and if he wins, then we can say that it could be a guarantee that Floyd will be next for him maybe in the middle of the year.
563  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price $45k by ending of 2023: AI prediction on: January 02, 2024, 09:43:38 AM
Good predictions By the AI prediction tools though it happened today, a few days after the end of 2023 December 31st they predicted, but eventually, it was actually a good timing. However, this is not enough reason to rely on this AI for accuracy and doesn't mean they can't be wrong as well, we need to see more of accurate predictions like this in the future to ascertain their credibility. I will only use such AI tools as an aid to my market analysis, but not to rely totally on this AI tools in taking market decisions.

Yes, as I said before, it was very close, but fortunately, at the start of the year, with all the bullish sentiments all over the crypto market, suddenly we hit $45,000 and even higher. So with the way it looks, it seems that the AI is on the dot, also it's off like a day or two with it's own prediction.

Nevertheless, AI or not, the market seems to be going though to this price. As we all know, this bullishness is because of the Bitcoin ETF approval that everyone is expecting this month. And so they jump on the market already for this big anticipation.
564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is better, parlay or teaser bet? on: January 02, 2024, 07:55:36 AM
Statistically speaking parlay bets are significantly more difficult to win and (as always) previous results do not influence future results! So even if you have the chance to win 1 each 10 this not means you can achieve such results.
I would always focus on "single" bets, on exchanges, live. The possibility of defeat is reduced and it is very easy to control the trend of a market.

You're right and with that I'm thinking that there's no better than the two, I mean statistically it will be against us gamblers. And that's why I do agree with you that single bet might be the good choice and you can even get as high as 2.x for a single bet in you got the underdog right.

Regardless, I have nothing against those who bet on parlay or teaser bet, perhaps they are that type of gamblers who wanted higher odds and so big risk. And we even have a thread that someone become a millionaire with a parlay bet with a just a small amount that he hit everything.
565  Economy / Speculation / Re: 112 days waiting for bitcoin halving!! on: January 01, 2024, 10:41:31 PM
Looks like 1 long year has passed, and we said goodbye to 2023 and entered the new year 2024. We are only waiting for 2024 for Bitcoin because this year is going to be one of the best year for Bitcoin. Where the block reward of Bitcoin will decrease from BTC6.25 to BTC3.125 and at that time we will see more demand for Bitcoin, and expect a gradual change in the Bitcoin market.
As Bitcoin halving is only 112 days away, we are looking forward to that time. All bitcoin investors only wait for bitcoin bull season. And the bull season usually starts after the halving as we know it, so I think there is a golden opportunity right now to just hodl Bitcoin.
All bitcoiners get ready to hodl your BTC success is waiting for you ahead.

Just don't wait for it, definitely it will come, the more you wait, the longer it will be tough on it. So let the ecosystem do it's normal flow and sooner or later we will be on bitcoin halving and next thing you know we will be in the bull run.

On the other hand, the best thing to do is just to continue to accumulate as this point. Others might think that the price is too expensive. But if you look long term and in the next bull run and new all time high in 2025, you can still make a good profit out of it.

@suzanne5223 - not sure if there is a exact date or time of the halving, as the average time to get a block to confirmed varies every 14 days if I'm not mistaken. So every countdown is different, just +/- days.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health concern on: January 01, 2024, 03:06:31 PM
It's New Year here in our country and I happened to bump into an old friend who narrated a story about how he almost suffered a heart attack after he won a big amount of money in a casino, this was several months ago, he's lucky that his son was around at that time so he got the right treatment at the right time.

He did not know that his hypertension had gotten worse since he can gamble even if he has this, he is taking medicines and doing relaxation but big winnings must have triggered this.

My question is :
Do you know the status of your health while gambling and what do you do if you happen to suffer a mild or hard stroke?

This is why I make it a point to open my messenger and have my loved one that I can contact in case, whenever I'm playing alone.

As per data though, "is the number one risk factor for death globally, affecting more than 1 billion people".

https://world-heart-federation.org/what-we-do/hypertension

So that is a huge number so everyone should be very careful of their health when we gamble specially in cases like this wherein you will really gets excited after winning such big amount. As for me, yes I know the status of my health and luckily it's not one illness that I have.

But obviously, even if we are not gambling, and specially if we are getting older, we should be concern of our health and we should visit a doctor even if we don't feel anything wrong, just to make sure.
567  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: January 01, 2024, 02:25:45 PM
How does someone go about reporting a bug to a casino a still hold casino accountable to pay a bounty?

It depends, as far as I can remember, Stake has bugs@stake.com.

So you didn't mentioned what casino you have found the bug if you already found one though. So in any case you have to check with them first, maybe through their support or if they have official email or even to their official social media account.

This is also a good question as no one has compiled as far as I know, how someone can report and go with a bug bounty.
568  Economy / Gambling / Re: Powerball btc on: January 01, 2024, 01:47:21 PM
I was thinking of starting something like a Powerball it basically follows all the same rules with the exception that the tickets are digital and instead of paying with dollars you would pay with BTC it will be fully legal backed by the BTC community would anyone participate in this is just a questioneer I want to hear peoples opinions

As others have said, this is not the first time that we have heard this kind of idea, but if you think that you can compete or at least be different from crypto casinos that have been this kind of games already, then do it.

Also if I may add, you have this idea so why not go for it? Who knows, maybe there is competition but if you can stand up then gamblers here might go and bet on your game. And as the saying goes, the more the merrier, so at least we can see options and not just play on casinos that has the Powerball. And besides, if we feel unlucky on some casinos or platform, then we might look at your games.
569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao II on: January 01, 2024, 12:52:46 PM
have lost momentum, both are old and have no title belts.
The first match of the fight was actually a bit too late because they were no longer young and were not at the peak of their performance.
especially now that they are both old and don't have championship belts.
just entertainment and interesting spectacle

I'm not sure where have you been in the last years or so, but you know that both of them have retired right? So obviously there will be no belts for them and for this fight as this is a exhibition fights.

Quote
An exhibition fight is a sports match which is not part of a competition but instead serves the function of demonstrating the skills of the participants.[1] In boxing, an exhibition fight normally consists of three to eight rounds. The participants generally wear larger gloves to minimize punch harm or impact on the combatants, headgear, and non-boxing related clothing. Exhibition fights involve opponents exhibiting their skills while usually being friendly and respectful.[2]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhibition_fight

So yes, this is just for entertainment purposes, but still they have a huge fan based so for sure this is going to be a hit and might even compete for those boxing PPV fights for next year.
570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What we all learnt this 2023 on: January 01, 2024, 12:28:12 PM
One needs to be logically and analytically guided before investing.

Just so you don't miss out on tracks,or you seek for assistance/mentorship from certified or knowlegable personnels. We've all learnt from this;it's a good thing we can all learn and gain advice from our teammates...let's be guided in 2024.

We learned a lot thru our journey in crypto, in the beginning, we thought that it's easy thingy, that it will be smooth without bumps. But sooner or later, we will found out that investing specially in Bitcoin will take a lot of mental fortitude, you need to be tough specially if you are going to be a holding.

It's very hard, because when you see that your portfolio is going down, you think of selling and pushing the sell button. But then again, after many years, you will understand that it's not necessary the case. You might be just emotional and not thinking logically. However, if you have the experience and learn something from being in the market for so long, you won't simply just go and sell because you know that someone will just buy it out from you and that you will lose in the end, so just better HODL on it.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 31, 2023, 07:40:29 PM
There was a New Year fight in Japan,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I24uyZEYkWU

It's Kazuto Ioka vs Josber Perez, and as per the video it was a war, both throwing a lot of leather, but Ioka win the end, scoring 3 knockdowns.

So maybe we can see Ioka again next year probably fighting Estrada for unification.
572  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price $45k by ending of 2023: AI prediction on: December 31, 2023, 07:18:45 PM
If that price prediction is said for this year or for the end of this year, everyone only needs to wait about eleven more days before we all end this year quite well and happily at a certain price level even though what the AI predicted has almost come true for all person. Of the several price movements that are still occurring in Bitcoin this month, the price is always held back and corrected when it almost touches $44K and even when it passes $44K in a few days. But if by the end of this year the price of Bitcoin can only be at $44K, that means the accuracy created by AI is only around 90%.
We have a few more days to see the potential for the market to grow at a price of $45k but I am sure the predictions will reach the target because the current market price is $44k, some people may predict again for next year's price analysis using AI, people trust predictions more realistic compared to human predictions which predict high prices that can potentially be achieved over the next 5 years, but actually we need a tool that can accurately predict the price of bitcoin in the next few months.

From several speculation threads that I have reviewed, I might get that the AI predictions in this thread are predictions with the right predictions, many people will trust AI to predict bitcoin for speculation on bitcoin prices in 2024.

Almost but not quiet, we are $42,000 at the end of the year, so it's very close prediction but we all know that if humans or individuals like us have difficulty predicting the price, then what's more with AI. There could still be room for improvement in AI though, but still, AI is feed by us so what do you expect?

At least though as far as the price, we are above $40,000 and that is huge entering 2024, we are in a momentum to get over at least $50,000 before the halving. And if I'm not mistaken, everyone is waiting for the Bitcoin Spot ETF approval this January, so it's huge month for us.
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: December 30, 2023, 10:43:51 PM
Sometimes people are always addicted to playing gambling online and this has made them loss alot of funds, due to always topping up theire casino account with there debit card when they loose. and this usually makes them exhaust all there funds.

While those people playing offline in casino halls play with only the little money they have at hand, and that will reduce the risk of over spending. So now my question is this

Playing online or offline gambling which is more preferable in terms of risk reduction?

You said it already, that is the keyword "addicted", so for them it doesn't matter whether offline or online, they will look to funds their wallet either way. And you can play online whenever you want as it is accessible, specially if you have crypto, bitcoin and altcoins for that matter.

I don't think that those who plays in land base casinos have little money on their hand, there are also whales on every casinos. So they have a huge amount of money with them. Or if even they don't have money that time, being a whale, the casinos will give them money as a privilege and many more perks for being a high stake gamblers.
574  Economy / Speculation / Re: High transaction fees affects buyers and seller in payment in bitcoin on: December 30, 2023, 09:48:11 PM
We all know that Bitcoin is used for making payments. So, people who buy uses bitcoin to send payment and those who sell uses it to receive payment from anywhere in the word. But the situation of high transaction fees is affecting buyers and sellers. They are now looking for an alternative to make payment instead of using bitcoin. Another thing is that if transaction is made, sellers will have to wait for long to receive payment and no seller wants that kind of delay in his/her business.

Do you think there is a solution to this, or B2B and P2B, business that uses bitcoin should find another alternative to payment method instead of Bitcoin?

For those who are into business that make use of bitcoin, how do you harness this situation of high transaction fess to not affect your business and customers? So that others will learn from your tips.

Sadly this is the case right now, Bitcoin is unusable as a payment method by online sellers. Although before the main reason is that it's volatile, now it's the high fees because we have been under attack before the developer of Bitcoin ordinals have found a loophole and exploit it and they it created hype causing the mempool to be also congested, hence bitcoin enthusiast trying to get their transaction to be in front by paying high fees.

I'm not into business that take Bitcoin, but in this kind of situation? I will honestly stop accepting it. And then uses other crypto as an alternative because BTC is not viable for use now.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling and religious restrictions on: December 30, 2023, 09:11:31 PM
I'm not sure though, because this topic could be sensitive to our Muslim brothers. Maybe it's haram maybe it's not and it's going to be debatable.

Anyhow, maybe we can look at similar threads below:

576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith January 13 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: December 30, 2023, 07:48:37 AM

I know, he is like a predator no expression whatsoever when he goes to fight anyone. He might have a slow start though, but once he get that engine inside of him, he is scary because he will be just in you face fighter that maybe some of his opponents are already intimated seeing him in that kind of mode.

Bivol already won his fight, so it's up to Beterbiev against Smith. But if Beterbiev is still very hungry and I believed he is, this fight against Smith is not going to last the full 12 rounds and Beterbiev will knockout Smith.

It has been a long time and these should have been fought a long time ago no rule in world boxing prohibits two fighters from the same country not to fight, they should not impose that on themselves, Beterbiev is aging but still dangerous no boxer has ever come close to hurting him but his record and legacy is questionable as long as both he and Bivol cannot meet each other in the ring,
I hope there will be no Wilder-like scenario in this fight against Smith, we want both fighters to meet in the ring with unblemished records so they will be motivated to go all out when they meet.

I think it's not that they are in the same country, it's the usual boxing politics that could have delayed this fight. And then there is the issue of geo-politics that time and still up to this time, when Russia invaded Ukraine.

And there's news that they hold Bivol pay when he won against Canelo, but not sure if he has been paid already. Beterbiev and Arum claims that Arthur lives in Canada.

I do hope that everything is clear so that we can see this fight and also for unification as this is the current trend in boxing right now.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale betting system on: December 30, 2023, 12:15:13 AM
People who think that Martingale doesn't work don't really know much about it. It does work sometimes only in the short-term as long as you set proper profit and loss targets in a smart and calculated manner

It always fails in the long-term primarily thanks to the house edge factor and table limits.

But still though, in the long run it's not going to work right?

And as you have said, "sometimes", that is the keyword there, and most of the gamblers here doesn't have the capital to run this strategy. I have abandoned it years ago just for that reason and as the experienced of others.

You could be one of those really lucky person who uses it short term and then make profit.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 29, 2023, 11:20:51 PM
As others have said, it's not a guarantee, and I can say that it's not that expensive to get a Curacao License to start your online gambling site.

Never thought that licenses are so cheap. Really, with millions in turnover, taking 10-20k is just unnoticeable. 10-20k - and these are expenses if a person wants to start all from the scratch. I am sure that there are already pre-made or out-of-the-box solutions. Or previously created, ready to go businesses. Turns out that license does not give any guarantees at all. I can compare it with cooper membership here. Projects buy it to look more reliable, yet can easily turn scam.

Yes, that's true it's so cheap that this gambling sites can really afford it and for them this is just a chump's change. Although there's also the Malta Gaming license, which is more expensive, but still it's affordable for this kind of big business.

And as we all agree upon, they can take advantage of it and just play along in the beginning for being a trusted casino and rake millions in the next couple of months and then turn rogue later because they have gotten their ROI from the initial cost of putting their online gambling sites. Not saying that everyone of them is a scam, but maybe 1 out of 10 or 20 sites, becoming a scam and then rebranding later, rinse and repeat.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 29, 2023, 10:59:11 PM
Since we are almost at the end of the year, who do you think should be the Boxer of the year?

Here are the list of candidates:

1. Terrence Crawford - beat Spence, another pound for pound boxer, and then captured and unified all the belts at 147 lbs?

2. Devin Haney - undisputed at 130 lbs beat Loma, move up in weight and then dominated Prograis to win the WBC belt?

3. Naoya Inoue - move up in weight, challenge the best champion at 122 lbs in Stephen Fulton, then unified the belt against Marlon Tapales, second man to do so, unifying belts in 4 belt era in 2 different weight classes, second only to Crawford.

If I have to vote, then I will go with Crawford as fighter of the year, the way he dominated a great fighter in Spence, with 0 losses in his record and everyone thinks that this is a close fight. But then Crawford took everything from Spence that night and then he captures his 2nd unification belt in 2 weight class and put his name on the record and cemented his legacy? For me he is the BOTY.

For Haney, his win against Loma is questionable and although he won another belt in 140 lbs, Prograis is not that high level boxer to be honest. His previous win against Danielito Zorrilla shows sign that Prograis is slowin down already and the Haney's know this.

For Inoue, he beat Fulton, but it is expected, same with his conquest of Tapales, odds is like 1.07 so again he what we call outstanding favorite to win that fight.

So Crawford, Inoue and Haney in that order for me.
580  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Pacquiao vs. Buakaw - April 20 on: December 29, 2023, 10:31:56 PM
Oh ok good, and if my memory serves me right, this is Manny's second in this exhibition matches, the first one is against a South Korean Youtuber. Buakaw is legendary as well and again, I think he has a recent fight with another great Kickboxer and he lost that fight.

But this time, this is just a exhibition match for him and against another legend in another sports discipline. And if this is going to be a boxing match then Manny should win, although Buakaw's experience as a striker could help him in his fight. But we all know how Manny's power is and he could still punch even if he is semi-retired and still has that power in his left.
