Who wants Boro to progress tonight? They only need a draw but it's a tough ask at Stamford Bridge... Palmer came so close so often in the first leg, Sterling also should be hungry, but I'm liking the odds against the Poch.

BSFL league is having a break this week and I am just going to be neutral fan this time.
Season is almost ending and I hope to see new members joining us for next season.

Yeah, I like looking at new blood. Not that I dislike all the existing ones, but it's like the Prem League, I'm always excited by the ones joining up from Championship, especially when it's debutantes. I know you're maintaining that thread here too, so you know better than most who's likely to promote.

Need to get a way to retain new faces though, was a bit sad to see some drop off.

Coco and Sabalenka through, as expected. Zheng should be making it on the other side of the draw. I already lost my tennis question I think. I thought Djoker would drop two sets here. Not that I was expecting much from Fritz...

It was a great match buwaytress, and actually it's cool to see both of us had many similar answers, meant that we have similar pov on the last week questions. Good luck to you mate, it's kinda sad to see my position below yours, so wait there, I'll overtake you in 1-2 weeks Wink

Hey man, it's all the ups and downs of BSFL. I found a way to win in the last two rounds, not really sure how if I'm honest. I was actually aiming for draws and then got 6 points. Maybe it's the change of mentality and not getting pressured to get the right answer? I even survived making a mistake (I was sure I picked Sainz to win) but I didn't need that point in the end.

Some really familiar 0-0 vibes coming our way in Group C? Scoreless on both games at 55 mins (not watching so no idea if game is as yawn as the scoreline. Senegal understandable just want a draw. Edit: Ekambi's made amends at 56'!

Strange days for AFCON but Nigeria must be loving it.

The entire Nigeria is celebrating, not because we qualified, but because our biggest rival Ghana was eliminated after blowing a 2:0 lead.

This is becoming one of the best AFCONs since 2013. I am thoroughly loving the game.

Lost all my point in 90+ mins hahah  Grin Ghana and Egypt bottled it.

Yeah, I'm definitely enjoying it a lot more than last edition. Even though all my early outrights won't win, it makes it especially cool to see some bigwigs out after this. Zeroed as well on both games after 91st minute. Drama not lacking in this edition!
564  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of excitement on: January 23, 2024, 03:54:00 PM
Oh OP, you don't have to lie and make up stories, you know? If you've been buying for over ten years now, I've no doubt you should be a millionaire at least. Buying even $100 in the entire 2014-2016 would have easily set you up for a windfall and I'm sure a monthly DCA would have taken you far higher.

If you've been here this long and wondering if this is the end... you've not been paying attention.

That's quite a bit of work for you to keep track of cygan, your efforts very well appreciated (god knows I'd forget something like that).

I think their last loss was an outlier, a blip if you want. They're extra incentivised to catch up now so need to win that game in hand. I think they'll also have an eye on goal difference and it may very well come down to that, so I'm counting on a bounce back in the extreme direction vs Union.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 22, 2024, 10:10:58 PM
Apparently Salah felt something in training but they risked him any way, total assholes.

They’e ruined it for themselves now. Hope they go out tonight, come on Cape Verde.

Hearing he's returning to Liverpool to get medical attention. I'd rather he not get rushed in. We seem to just be dishing out players to be returned broken.

The same disallowed goal wrecked my exact score. CasperBGD must be investigated for using unreleased and unregulated AI to generate predictions.  Grin How do you manage to get exact scoreline from this crazy results

No way man, i checked the results in the minute 90 of both games, and i was having two exact scores, i made a few check in other things and when i return to see how it ended.... total desilusional for me, 2-2 in both games with goals from nowhere, fuck!.

And then, for these games, I had 1 exact score for Ghana and 0 for Egypt drawing until 90th minute. Then injury time flipped my exact scores...  and then finally, Egypt managed to make it 0...

Strange days for AFCON but Nigeria must be loving it.

All me answers be in now, let's see how badly new Joe thrashes me. Of course, I expect to score many points in a round that doesn't win me anything but I'm happy to score 0 if it purges some of the tightness in regular league games. Go, Coco. Go, Djoko!

So nice to play a round with no pressure, I did notice Trofo's got a strong promotion position thanks to Igebotz's refusal to leave Div2... And don't worry Kokee44, you'll use the experience to win Div3/3A/B or whatever form it'll take shape.

Disallowed goals leading to casperBGD getting exact score must be investigated. Sheriff is teaching some of our other members the art of shadow negotiation? But well done on the yellow cap, man. I'm hardly disappointed in my performance, somehow managed to get to 2nd spot, but the 3.5 point gap to the leader is classic Superbru: the longer the season gets, the wider the distance from top spot. All your hard work, well done.

Now can we please just get Egypt out asap? An embarrassment to the tournament, might as well make way for Eq Guinea and Cape Verde to progress far.

Always appreciate the way KTChampions tries to apply bookmaker logic, I personally think it's more market dictated (how much money's riding on either side) than we think. And money's always going to be on Bayern globally, so I doubt odds balance out any time this season -- Alonso is flying, I hope he enjoys this as much as possible. It would be weird for Kane to break every record before him and still miss out on the very reason he made his move!
570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Satoshi appearances in Movies and Tv Shows on: January 22, 2024, 05:22:44 PM
Reminiscent of the ghost of future yet to come... perhaps even more appropriate if Satoshi and genesis block are read as foretellings of a future bleak for traditional money!

I wonder how the cypherpunks would have illustrated/visualised themselves in fiction. Everything I've tried sourcing or asking AI has come up with the generic hooded figure look...

^^I've said it a few times, of our new crop of forwards, Jota's my favourite (he's not exactly new but he's now at the stage where Mane and Firmino were after getting straightened out by Klopp. Nunez is where we differ. He's not my favourite but I like him in the mix, and he'll also, if he pays attention and works hard, fit into the Klopp system. Once Salah goes, we'll need a new trident anyway. If Nunez doesn't keep scoring as he should but continues his involvements, it's what I want.

I need to put all my freebets on Liverpool.

Are you on this or you chickened out! Your guy came in the second half. Told you he's not a starter in the Algeria team.

Hang on to your panties, me chicken out against naughty Sheriff? I freely give away losing bets all the time. I eat losses fro breakfast haha. 1mbtc to you, please DM me your address, my man. Amoura only played one half, but no excuse, I still thought he'd be dynamic enough to score. Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, they're managing to score many more goals than last edition but different route to the same destination -- few wins to show for all their efforts.

Man, I'm missing out on upset galores. Far from over of course, but Bayern and Real are trailing, and none of them featured in BSFL, could have been a field day for some of us Wink

After losing to buwaytress I couldn't sleep for a week.

Looks like Sheffield Utd saved you with a last minute penalty, you got your 3 points and Slaman is headed for relegation. jeremypwr also looks like he's pulling out, so that bottom Div1 is looking really grim!

Yep, waterpolo will haunt me. To lose both that and Swiatek who was leading - fuck me, that would have been a shitload of money if I hedged it live.

Famous last words for myself too... I actually like betting live but normally on the fav if they're down. Like Medvedev going down 2 sets to the Finn. But I'm old and hardly online to make such calls now.

Just in case any of you guys want in on some of the betting action, there's a special up for a few more hours based on the Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) cup round semifinal happening next week.

I'm backing one of our legendary members on bitcointalk, but it's all really good sports people here, so if you know something I don't, place your bets! https://sportsbet.io/sports/sportsbet-specials/matches/future

Cape Verde showing everyone they're not here by luck, huh? But Senegal look like they're proper ready to defend. I think we're not halfway through but already more goals than last edition's entire group stage.
Games look entertaining on paper but everything I have seen so far was really poor quality. Did not watch much but even goals I have seen were a result of big goal keeper errors or total defensive blunders. Maybe I am just unlucky, will try to watch some games in knockout stages when we have only "strong" teams.

Round 1 is over and with it my knack of getting points in the pool. Has been fun, now on my way to the bottom as usual  Grin

Only watched the RSA game almost full match, bits here and there, same impression. Overall not very bad, that particular game, entertaining in the sense they were really just putting the ball forward a lot, but defending was like 1990s England. See the ball, kick it away, no sweeping action in general, my modern brain prefers to see that.

Back in AFC, I watched the latest Japan game, it wasn't superb either but it felt much more entertaining. First half was all Middle Eastern strength and height advantage, muscling every ball, then Japan finally got their flanking action right in second half and it was just overrunning their opponents, very slick above-ground passing, just very brainy passages of play.

I then watched Bahrain-Malaysia and it was hard to use it as a comparison as Malaysia are probably the weakest team in the tourney... and played like it. Nervous all around for most of the match but it still looked a bit more active than AFCON. Harder running, slightly more trickery, but well, shit is shit.

Hard to defend AFC on this forum though. It was a ghost town in the thread I opened.

I just saw you're not top anymore Trofo but so so few points separating Top 10. Mali already scoring one so we're definitely being tempted to go overs or BTTS on this AFCON.

Quick answer as to why others got penalised and City didn't: others admitted and accepted wrongdoing, City has denied each and every one of those 100+ allegations.

Back to the action, pretty excited to see Toney back in action. He's probably leaving in the summer but I feel he might be convinced to stay one more season with the club that stood by him over the last half-year. No other game more important than tomorrow's though. We need to keep the distance betwixt Gooner and Citeh wide!

jayce, thought we were still in it, but seems I'd already won this round yesterday without needing to wait for complicated Sat/Sunday games. I know it's too soon to rest on my laurels but I feel like I'm already in a good position to retain my membership of Div1. If that sounds like a lame target, it is, but it was really difficult to shake off the bad start to the season.

Swiatek out, told you guys, 0-2 was golden. Prematch odds on her to win was 1.02, her opponent over 30/1. Can't imagine what the odds were after she won first set.

Now for the fun part. Steve and Joe from Sportsbet are available for challenge this week as well.  It is actually a new guy taking a position of "old Honest Joe", some of you may have met  or talked with previous one in the past. Write here if you are interested to take them on and then depending on how many of you apply it will be on first served bases or we will have some random draw.

Nice update! I know where my money's going already, Hhampuz is actually unproven with all the byes but I think he'll do well.

I'd like to take on New Joe, please. Old Joe knocked me out of poker last time I met him, keen to see if his replacement is as good. I'd square up against Steve but I'm probably too good for him.

Tough, casper, really tough. Feel for you honestly. Needed a pen and still allowed another goal. And this from an equally troubled Celta who didn't even need to play Aspas.

Amid all that, news circling around Xavi's position. As usual, can't stick by a coach who got your identity back and title back. Football is so cruel to managers, less so to the collective inability of players to perform.

Is Atleti back?

Salah is faking injury as usual - some random stats marchants compared him to Prime Hazard because he scores so many goals. Those who truly watch the game know the truth.

If you're felling down just remember that Kudus was offered to Man united for €35m but they turned t down and bought Antony for €100m

Doesn't strike me as a guy who walks off when he hasn't scored -- if anything he's so singular he wants to break records while he's still able to. I'm biased though so my opinion doesn't count. Ghana deserved it. Kudus goals alone are the highlight of AFCON that I've seen! Antony, man, I can't get over the nonsense spinning he did early on, snorted saliva up my own nose seeing that.

Cape Verde showing everyone they're not here by luck, huh? But Senegal look like they're proper ready to defend. I think we're not halfway through but already more goals than last edition's entire group stage.

Oh, need to share this goal celebration from a hattrick hero in AFCON. Oldest to do it! https://twitter.com/beinsports_FR/status/1748014188746727451
