561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it’s important to avoid telling everyone about your crypto holdings on: December 24, 2023, 05:39:20 PM
Each person has his grace on life and you can never be someone's else just try to be you. Because your real you might even grow more than who introduced you. Everybody must not be the same.
Exactly! People should realize that they've different 'graces' and on no account should anyone struggle to be like someone else. Long time ago, when Wole Soyinka (WS) was starting out to be famous for his plays someone addressed him as the William Shakespeare (WS) of Africa. He didn't find that funny and had to instantly correct the person. He believed both WSs weren't the same and should be treated differently even though both were playwrights and poets.

You can only grow the moment you chose to make use of your time very well And decide to focus otherwise you'll be jumping from one thing to the other.  That's why it's good never to give up easily in what you do because consistency in the wright track is the key factor of success.
You wrote like an elder there. Apt! Quitters won't ever be winners.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin as digital currency on: December 24, 2023, 03:53:59 PM
It's true that Bitcoin is digital money that has been using cryptography. But it's not related to being poor or becoming rich. Also, I don't see anything to work hard on Bitcoin.
Well, I think the "work hard" part on Bitcoin will be the positioning of oneself to get into it during a dip to enhance profit taking during a bull run. This is what we're faced with now for this incoming bull run. Those who aren't working hard now to leave something on the table (so to say, by hodling any bit of Bitcoin) are going to lose out when the real bull begins. Again, Bitcoin is a transformation. An investment in it has the ability of changing a poor situation.

Quote
The main goal of Bitcoin is to transfer money worldwide without third parties using a p2p computer system. But due to volatile behaviour, we are taking advantage by investing in Bitcoin. To be honest, the goal has become an investment opportunity lately.
Bitcoin conception as a payment option has really failed if we factor in what's happening now with the Blockchain congestion going on and the throat cut fees.
563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it’s important to avoid telling everyone about your crypto holdings on: December 24, 2023, 04:28:06 AM
4) teaching or passing information to the wrong people, in the mindset of helping them. Not knowing that the heart of men is deceitful.
William Shakespeare illustrated that attitude is one of his famed plays – Macbeth– where he said there was no art of finding the mind's construction on the face. It was the same Macbeth whom King Duncan trusted so much that assassinated him while playing host to the king. Humans (I use it loosely here because I know there are a few good men) can't be fully trusted.

Quote
Just because I couldn't tell him how much I make per week he concluded that am not a good friend and complain to some of my friends that am now a rich man. I have money now I Don want to help him.
It's this entitlement mentality that's destroying a lot of youths who believe that someone somewhere owns them help. They think because someone earns more than them or is rich by their estimation they should become parasitic to. If it were that easy, shouldn't they too be making their own money and helping others too? Until people realize that the streets are tough and that no one owns anyone anything, they will awaken from their slumbers.
564  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why the transaction fee hike on ORDI? on: December 23, 2023, 07:52:33 PM
This scrutiny you mentioned on tx fee shouldn't even be only on exchanges, we ought to observe it with our private wallets. Recently, I made a transaction and chose a custom fee, didn't remember to ok it. It reverted to low priority or something  but I didn't know and I sent it. I realized my error as soon as the coin showed it had gone through and it was already late by then. The huge fee I paid hurt me for days. Imagine someone paying 3 Ordi ($150+) for a transaction they could do with less than a dollar.
565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Judge orders Craig Wright to pay over $1M on: December 23, 2023, 05:31:23 PM
Why is this person trying so hard to prove that he's Satoshi Nakamoto? If he was, he could simply login to this forum and make a post and clear it out.
What an idiot I would say. What's your thought on this?
I think the slammed $1m fine is a slap on the wrist. A stiffer fine should've sufficed. He's trying too hard to prove an identity he doesn't have and forgot the basic thing – just move one of the wallets believed to be owned by the maverick Satoshi Nakamoto, even if he can't or doesn't want to log in to this forum and everyone will throw out every doubt. CW is simply an unbelievable nitwit.
566  Other / Meta / Re: 2FA added on: December 22, 2023, 06:48:02 PM
Finally, it's implemented. Theymos, you surprised everyone (well, maybe me) on this with your quick response. Also, thanks to user PowerGlove.

~
Have I started to hear the complain now that 2fa code expires too quick 😂?
That's what makes us humans. We're insatiable by nature. If we don't complain, even when what's given seems the best, it simply makes life boring 😂
567  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaigns in the Service Board on: December 22, 2023, 04:50:12 PM
Is not alright, any campaign advertising payment in Bitcoin yet paying their participants with other cryptocurrency only without Bitcoin isn't meant to be on the Bitcoin service board. The thread should be reported and moved to the altcoin service board.
This may not be my forte but apart from the campaign thread getting more visibility if Bitcoin paying campaigns stay in the  dedicated section for it and altcoin campaigns less, I know there's no other advantage since participants can still post anywhere in the forum and their posts counted. I don't know of any other advantage it has from the lens of an outsider that I see it or is (are) there?

BTW, I know we had this similar issue here some years ago and the manager (I can't remember the user again) who was asked to move his thread to the altcoin bounty section refused, citing certain rules in the forum that backed him up and that was how the matter was relaxed. For me, I don't think it's a big deal whether it's set up in altcoin section or not, provided hunters know where to look for campaigns.
568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scroll NFT mint is Live claim yours on: December 22, 2023, 03:21:46 PM
~snipped~
Frankly not sure what would be the price of this nft as there are lots of nfts claimors. Can this be able to sell? cause from what I read its a soulbound token and has a unique identification per user but able to see this on some nft marketplace.
I don't know whether to conclude that the NFT market is coming back after it relapsed from its glory days. Are we likely to see a resurgence in price of NFTs in 2024 or they will just populate this industry without much economic viability? I've seen a lot of projects ask participants to mint NFTs just like so many are having airdrops now too and chains indulging memetokens and silently backing them. Maybe this is a pointer to what we should expect next year of where the most money will be earned. Airdrops or NFTs or Memes?
569  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will you use platforms offering AI help for crypto trading in 2024? on: December 22, 2023, 12:11:40 PM
I'm curious if you've already started to use AI for taking trades.
I haven't knowingly used bots. I don't like the idea of using such and it's the same thing with Ai. I'm traditional and old school. Leaving my trades to AI will keep me restless. I like to be the one in charge of executing my trades. We've seen scripts fail during unpredictable market circumstances. Scripts are written by humans the same way Ais are too. Again, most exchanges frown at the use of bots and Ais on their exchanges. So, to those ones, using Ais on such exchanges is an infringement. You wouldn't want to infuriate a rule, would you?

The only person that I know there is Mpamaegbu which I thought was not Niger Deltan (I do not want to disclose his tribe).
I be Omo Igbo, aje okuta ma mu omi confirmed 😏. It's in my moniker. I should've taken the Yoruba speaking and writing thing seriously while growing up. I regret somehow I didn't. Though I can speak it, not fluently the way I want. The thing is that I grow up in Lasgidi before I relocated to Panya now. I love languages.

BTW, I don't think anyone should be doing tribal stuff here. Here's an anonymous forum. We're all Nigerians! That was why I contributed to that thread when I did. If I could speak German, I would also be contributing in their thread.
571  Other / Meta / Re: Thanks button and more on: December 21, 2023, 01:45:24 PM
I'm in support of what OP is advocating. I guess this same thought has been expressed somewhere in the forum but in different guise. Creating a "Thank You" or "Like" feature shouldn't be a problem for theymos or any of the creatives we've here with theymos' permission. Sometimes we have the need to thank a user for their meaningful contributions to us but lack the equivalent of such expression in merit. We don't always have merit to express such gratitude and a feature like that should be fine to do that job.
572  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: December 21, 2023, 10:55:22 AM
Everything now depends on BestChange. The ball is in their court and we wait for a consensus on payment – whether address change to SegWit, Bi-weekly/monthly payment or LTC/Tether option, I'm all embracing of whatever is finalized.

BestChange, kick the ball.

Proverb; Them no dey stand one place dey look masquerade

This is what we calls post bursting, any post that is not up to 20 to 30 minutes can be considered post bursting...

575  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: December 20, 2023, 12:22:59 PM
Yeah, I also buy the Idea here because this is huge fee, imagine if this fee where split among participants I Believe it would go along way as bonus or increments to our payment.
Hallelujah! Did I hear someone say Amen to that? It's not even a bad idea. It will be celebratory. Now that you've put it out, BestChange in their wisdom may want to consider that 😏

I think only 2 weeks of transaction arent confirmed yet including this recent transaction manager not 4, as Ive checked it.
Yes, it's only for two weeks; not four weeks. Except BestChange is referring to transactions that aren't related to our campaign here.
576  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: December 20, 2023, 10:03:07 AM
Thanks BestChange for processing payment on time and compliments of the season to you and the rest of my colleagues. Again, thanks for the bonus. It surely will put a big 🐔 in my stew this period.

Ok, now the gist. I checked the Tx ID and found that you spent 0.01605994 BTC which is an equivalent of $687.58 on fees to send out the week's payment? Am I correct on this or I'm looking at a different data? If that's the case, it's some crazy fee there. Can't we find an alternative to payment like LTC or any stablecoin till this whole blockchain congestion thing clears up?
577  Other / Meta / Re: Is really referral or affiliate are not allowed in Forum ? on: December 19, 2023, 07:03:52 PM
This isn't to derail the issue being discussed here by any means. However, it occurred to me as birthed by OP's line of question just now that sooner than later someone will come up with an idea of how this forum should copy that sister forum mixer campaigns are moving to and ask admin (theymos) to let members who bring others to the forum invite them through their referral links. Just watch and see.
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you take out your investment when in profit? on: December 19, 2023, 05:47:33 PM
Is it too early to take it out once you have doubled your money , is waiting till you have done a 5x or more too greedy?
For me, I don't even calculate the X thing. I rely on price action to decipher if there's an incoming price correction on a higher timeframe and then either take everything off the table or just take out my capital and leave a moon bag in anticipation of further mooning. At the moment, in this bull run, I check the current ATHs of the alts I'm hodling once they start rising. I'm of the opinion that the least any viable alt can do is level up on its current ATH. Otherwise, I'm hopeful they should surpass their current ATHs.
579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best piece of advice to anyone going into bitcoin on: December 19, 2023, 04:02:26 PM
Buy a little bit of bitcoin every week don't care if it's a $1, $5, $10, $100, figure out what you can afford every week and buy it,
Why not gather the meagre amount like the $5 & $10 you mentioned weekly and then buy once a month to save tx fee. Don't be amazed that anyone who's buying in bits now will have a better part of their funds eaten up by fees. It's a crazy moment the Bitcoin community has found itself. In furtherance, anyone buying meagerly shouldn't expect to reap much during the bull run. So, one has to take an appreciable level of risk to earn well now with Bitcoin. Gone are the days when Bitcoin did stupendous ROI on meagre investments.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto on: December 19, 2023, 03:02:10 PM
Crypto is wild west. Scams/hacks, all the new ways to get compromised never ceases to amaze me.
Scam and hacks don't only affect cryptos. They affect every aspect of investment, provided there's money to be made there. It's just that crypto scam and hacks are more prevalent and reported in bull seasons than in the bear moment.

Quote
...once you have made enough, secure it, diversify in real estate, gold, etc.
I don't think that advice is ripe at this time. Now is a good time to concentrate on crypto investment. Maybe after the bull rally, investors can look in the direction of what you mentioned.

Quote
You could having million dollars worth crypto in your wallet and next moment, puff it's gone.
Yes, hacks happen but in most cases it's with the connivance of the victims who are likely to ignorantly give out vital information leading to the vulnerability of their wallets. For instance, we shouldn't be clicking on every link or extensions we get sent to. If one must get involved in airdrops, one should get a burner wallet for it. Don't expose any wallet you've a substantial amount of coins in by using it for airdrop.
