61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 19, 2024, 02:18:15 AM
At this stage of his career, Loma doesn't need a Shakur type of fighter because that could only make him look bad in the ring as Shakur's lateral movement doesn't fit for Loma's style of boxing. Loma vs Tank Davis is the best fight for now for Loma as both fighters are crowd drawers and bring good money for either fighter though the negotiation for this fight is hard.
Wouldn't that be a challenge to him which would make him more stronger right? I think that it would make him more famous for trying to fight boxers that are of a different playstyle or where he's at a disadvantage, people would love to watch that one in my opinion and that would probably make him more money compare that with Tank Davis where the money is good but when he fights Shakur, that would probably get his boxing career go up to a newer heights but then again, it's up to how Lomachenko's management will deal with this one or what can be their strategy.
62  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not forget your Bitcointalk account password!!! on: May 19, 2024, 01:26:30 AM
This might be unsafe and really stupid but I only have one password in all of my accounts in other platforms including this one, that way, I would easily access them in the case that my automatic login malfunctions and I need to log in to those accounts. It's not recommended but I've got a bad memory with lots of other things going on with my life and I don't want to remember passwords just to be safe, I mean it's all for nothing too when you're using different passwords that are difficult to brute force because when the hackers are determined, they'd easily do it to access your account anyway, the best thing to do when you do this thing that I do is try to make sure that your password isn't related to anything that can easily be traced to you like your favorite pet, favorite music, the date of your birth or where you grew up, make it unrelated as much as you can and you'll never become a victim of brute forcing attempts and even at that point, you're account is way too deep in some kind of issue.
63  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: May 18, 2024, 11:54:59 PM
~
Please don't force yourself to do push-ups any time you wake up since you have a chronic injury; just wait until you notice that your body is fit to do a physical exercise that day. You can just do 15-20 push-ups in a day so that you do not stress your body a lot or suffer from your chronic injury anytime you finish doing your push-up.
I'm fine, the injury won't be something that would pop up unless I overexert and I've done calisthenics before and even at overexertion in push ups, squats, jumping ropes, and some treadmills, I still didn't feel any pain from where the injury so I know where I'm at and I know how things are working for me and I'm excited to join this movement and hopefully commit to it even after the 100k price is hit.
64  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Making a long post is not the ultimate on: May 18, 2024, 08:57:37 AM
If you can hit a keyword and get straight to the point on a particular topic, what's the point of stressing things?

The more you write, sometimes it complicates things without the author even realising it. At the beginning, most of the long text might have meaning, but the more you read it, the more confused you get about what the person is saying.
The problem is that you make it too concise or too short that there's nothing worth discussing on your topic, you will always end up getting that post deleted and since there's really no metric of what's the acceptable length for a thread starter, it will always be a guessing game for the newbies but that's not even an excuse anyway, I mean there are other things that you can do to improve how you post, just looking at what the other people post here in the forum and you would easily differentiate the mistakes that you've committed. Totally agree that the more you right, the more you complicate things and in some cases, hyperfocus on one subject without expounding on it to further improve your point, maybe knowing when to get to talking and when to do less talking, you'll probably going to see the improvements.
65  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: New UK Law Empowers Authorities to Seize, Freeze, Destroy Crypto on: May 18, 2024, 08:16:22 AM
It is not surprising. The UK is a monarchy.

According to the law,  the King (or Queen) owns the country ultimately. If the gov, the king, whoever is in charge there decide that they own your stuff and you don’t own that stuff anymore, it is not against the law.

So crypto naturally falls into the same category of assets which they can seize. They did it many times before. Remember how they seized Chelsea FC from Roman Abramovich.

In the UK you can own stuff as long as they let you own it. Don’t make a mistake, it is not really much different in the other parts of the world.

You just don’t fuck with tptb.
I don't think that they're practicing monarchy seriously though, if I recall correctly, they're just the same as the Emperor in Japan, a decoration, a tourist attraction that don't have any holdover the politics of the country, most of the things that I think that's serving the monarchy is probably for formalities or I'm completely wrong on this one? That would really suck if you don't really own anything, probably the most backwards policy out there in my opinion, that's just communism with king and queen but much more evil since it's not the state or the people that owns the property, it's the few rich hags and goblins that are keeping an incestuous bloodline, in fact, I think it's much more evil than that of communism. I guess some crypto people in the UK are having some plans to leave the country to get out of that stupid system that they call a country?
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to sell my website for an emergency on: May 18, 2024, 07:22:39 AM
There were other newbies that were asking for 5k USD too recently, what's with the magic number of 5k that it's your standard for trying to solicit here in the forum? Is the key to your scam/fraud attempt to try and annoy everyone to the point that they just give up and give you the 5k? That's got to be the most ambitious but stupid way to scam people into giving you that much money. Listen, if you really wanted to get that much money in your bank account, why not try to work? Maybe you'll get something out of it and you'd be doing an honest work. Also, you really need to do something about that website if that's a legitimate one, you're going to need to do some kind of website makeover and you don't want to be selling a goofy 2000s looking website, that's not going to attract you any buyers.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling losses are traps to new game on: May 18, 2024, 05:23:35 AM
Whether you trust the algorithm of the game that you're playing or not, you're probably not going to be able to do anything anyway because you're still going to play. Maybe if it's proven to be rigged then you probably have an answer to it like a complaint to the people behind that casino, but that's rarely the case on this one because the way these casinos rig their game, they still make sure that you still have the chance or so they like for you to think. Maybe the reason why we think things are rigged is because we just can't fathom that we're losing so much money whenever we gamble that we need some form of mechanism that would make us think that there's some tangible forces behind that's conspiring to make you lose money.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do casinos require users to verify their identity through a KYC policy? on: May 18, 2024, 04:48:54 AM
Because KYC means Know Your Customer, it's already on the name of the policy and there's no other way to verify yourself besides complying with the KYC policy is a good thing right? At least in my opinion given how you can easily be turned into a money launderer in the case that you've won something really big, they can just say that you haven't complied and they'll just freeze your account, that's how most of the accusations in casinos are when it comes to people that are getting locked out, at the least you won't have any problem when you complied and then you've won something and then at the end of the day, the casinos tries to lock you out, you would be able to get some kind of leverage or you can counter their argument easily. The gist of why the KYC policy is in place is to protect the company's own hide, they didn't made it because of you, they want to make sure that they can never be a den of money launderers because that would constitute that they're an accomplice and they'll be also indicted, if it's not for you to comply with that one then it's best that you find another that's more anonymous.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: May 18, 2024, 03:51:40 AM
Even if it's rigged as you'd like to think it is, remember that you're still stacked unfavorably against the odds so I'm not sure how you'd be able to anticipate it, I mean that's what happens with gambling, you think that the casino or the game is rigged and you feel like there's someone behind your back that's conspiring against but it's just the way that it is, you could've never known any better regarding the outcome, that was already the smartest move that you can do in that situation, it's just that you've meet the probability of similar cards. I too would've done the same thing if I were in that position because I know that there's no way it can ever be different right? Gambling is a game of risk and taking chances, you wouldn't be getting far in gambling if you're not aware of that fact.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ? on: May 18, 2024, 03:13:06 AM
Real gamblers gamble till the end of their lives. I have also heard the life stories of many gamblers who decided to gamble after retiring from government service. It may be foolish to think of retirement where people take up gambling to support their families after retirement from government service. If you retire from government service you will get some retirement money but if you retire from gambling you will not get any money from here so gamblers gamble as long as they can afford it or as long as they can gamble properly.
What makes you so certain that every gambler is going to do that though? Are you aware that there are people out there that have a different way of thinking? Pretty sure that there's some people there that are an exception to your rule that they will all gamble till the end of their lives, you probably need to go out much more often because it's going to be good for you. Another thing that I'd like to point out is that there's always a prize money that someone no matter how addicted or dedicated they are to gambling, it's a really unreasonable and really huge cash prize though which is why it's not easily achieved. I really love the chance to be in a AMA of this kind of person, being able to make money that would make you go for an early retirement is really something that makes me curious about, what they've done and how are they so good at gambling that they're able to hit what others can only dream about.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My favorite loser on: May 18, 2024, 02:27:25 AM
If that's the behavior of the loser being so arrogant I wouldn't bet him as my favorite, and never in my gambling activities got favoritism on particular player who lose badly.
When I bet for sports betting, it's only for the game and not for specific individual who performs the sports. I care about their emotions, they're same humam like us, a special being who strive harder in their career.
So here in gambling it's more like sportsmanship, if win then you're lucky them if not well we should accept the reality that it's not our time of fortune.
If you can capitalize on that arrogance that leads to a midrange up to end game poor performance, I don't think that it's going to be worth disregarding that fact, I mean OP already said it in the thread that it's a good thing to bet against him because you know that he will eventually make a really poor performance before the game ends thus netting you an easy win, if I know that for a fact, I would love that person that is making me a lot of money, that's it. Regarding his behavior, he doesn't even know that we exist and any kind of anger or ire in his arrogance isn't going to change his behavior towards the people that's around him and the society that he belongs into, I guess some people are really just like that and that they hate being a good person or they weren't raised in a good environment, only way that they can change is if they want to do the changes themselves.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: May 18, 2024, 01:42:33 AM
Yes, and it depends on how much current is going through the mechanism. And even if you have a strong claw, it doesn't matter how "extra careful" you are because the claw can drop the prize intentionally before reaching the prize box. Whether it's gambling or not? I'd call it a rigged gambling. It's when you know that the game is rigged and no matter how skillful or lucky you are it all depends on to what degree it was rigged before you started playing. There's a chance it was rigged to your favour, and then you are "lucky".
It's not that the claw drops the stuff that they get, it's that the owner of those claw machines are the ones that's rigging those claws, if you can disassemble at least one of them, you would probably or likely see a mechanism there to adjust for the grip of the claw and most of the time, most claw machine owners can set at the weakest grip to make sure that they're getting more out of their money from that machine. Totally agree that it's a rigged gambling, but there are some fair claw machines out there, the only problem is that they're not a lot of them so it's not really worth finding out which of them is good where you got a fair chance getting something out of them or if they're the bad ones were you can easily know at your first play that the claw machine is rigged to not get you any prizes.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $GHO5T on: May 17, 2024, 09:07:26 AM
Completely understand your point of view. It's had a good run so far simply from word of mouth. For myself, it's not about profit at all. This for me is about seeing an old school type of crypto startup. Something just simple and word of mouth that gets going. I have less than 1% supply personally that I haven't touched. It really is more about seeing it grow than anything financial. Haven't seen something like it in crytpo in a long time, so it would just be cool to see it again. Something where it's not a central team in power or a DAO or anything like that. Just a random token that the community gets behind and grows together.
If you're committed to doing that then I suggest that you make your token the most useful and at the least have something new to offer to crypto users because not a lot might say it or consciously know it yet but I'm pretty sure that everyone in the cryptocurrency community wants some things for a change and that can be an opportunity for you, to be presenting that would really be game changer to the cryptocurrency investment market. I love the name and all but I do hope that you will do my suggestion to some degree, people are tired of the same thing, your concept is awesome so keep doing that and I wish you all the best and that you will deliver those very things that you plan to be doing.
74  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dropping Bitcoin price could significant rewards for investors in future. on: May 17, 2024, 08:24:31 AM
Obviously but the investors will have to buy when the price drops, that's the only way that they can be rewarded. It's not really in our control though, whatever might happen to the market, we're in the mercy of the volatility of bitcoin, some whales might make waves but still, they'll not be enough to really make some difference unless of course the whole market reacts to it.

Only way to be ready for this or to make something out of this is if we prepare ourselves on the things that might happen, always keep some money on the reserve so you will be able to take the opportunity to buy whenever the opportunity to buy bitcoin presents itself, otherwise you'd regret it and when things starts going right for bitcoin and you missed out on it, you will end up regretting it so bad.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 100% percent scam airdrop don't get involved. on: May 17, 2024, 05:57:20 AM
How are they able to manipulate the price to be like that though, I can't wrap my head around how they did it but with the way that they do it, I can definitely understand why this will definitely work on some people especially the newbies, they're definitely going to be onto something. While writing this post, I just remembered that I've had this experience with OpenSea too, there was this Pudgy Penguin skin upgrade token or something like that, when you try to sell it, it will redirect you somewhere that will try and access your Metamask and then steal all of the valuable crypto or NFT that you have on that wallet, I was really careful at that time and thankfully, I didn't have a lot of stuff in my OpenSea account so I was able to notice the anomaly without a problem, if I was being greedy at that time, I would've considered pursuing selling it and end up losing more in the process.
76  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does power really corrupt? on: May 17, 2024, 05:17:06 AM
When in the wrong hands it does, the sad thing about this is that there's more wrong hands than good hands that runs for power that's why we think that it corrupts a person when the reality is that it will only affect those that don't have a pure of heart. But if we really want to change things, there's something that you might want to do to make sure that our future wouldn't be at the brink of extinction, think of it like planting a seed knowing that that the tree that it will grow into will serve as the shade for the future generations, teach your children how they should handle power, teach them humility and kindness, teaching them that they should care for the people first before themselves when they work for public service is a key to it too.
77  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Corrupt leaders are made foolish people. on: May 17, 2024, 04:38:08 AM
They wouldn't be there if it weren't for us the people anyway, if everyone is just a tad bit more smarter than the average, we would all be electing the right people and we will go on a violent outburst whenever there's a possibility that there's a rigging in the election. But that's not the case, the masses are pretty stupid when they get into crowds and they end up believing in the one that speaks loudest the most even if what they're saying doesn't make sense, there's a reason why Hitler came into power, his policies might be evil but he was a really good orator and knows how to manipulate the masses into believing his cause as the solution to the problem that Germany was facing at that time. France is a really great example of how the masses should work when it comes to getting what they want, they really care about how they do protests and they're famous for the French Revolution after all.
78  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is procreation really necessary? on: May 17, 2024, 03:52:12 AM
Sometimes I do wonder what is the need for reproduction when there are so many kids suffering out there for survival, many are ophans, some have parents but their parents couldn't afford to take adequate care of them due to poverty and some are just helpless roaming round the streets without anyone to help them. It is really necessary to reproduce? instead of adopting some of this helpless children and take good care of them and make them to understand that life is not that difficult as they feel because most of this children grow up with the mentality that the society is unkind to them, they become unhappy and feel so inferior of themselves while growing up, some have mental issues due to the unfortunate situations they have found themselves.

Is there a way to help this children grow and become better persons in the future instead of bringing more children to this world.
Well, here's my question to you, are you and your partner willing to adopt a child if you don't want to procreate or have a kid of your own? That's an easy yes or no question but it will answer your question about the need to procreate. Sure, it's a noble cause to adopt a kid but not everyone shares that philosophy because they want to the feeling of creating something, they want something of their own blood and people don't really like the idea of adopting someone that they don't have any semblance with, the factor of emotions plays with this issue too, some kids when they grow up, they might want to look for their biological parents and that would definitely hurt their adoptive parents even if it's the kid's rights. If we really want to help these kids, we need to campaign for reproductive health and the use of contraceptives, teaching people that children are a big responsibility and prevention of teenage pregnancy would probably do more than not creating a new life.

Being a responsible parent is better than not having one because a population collapse is definitely something that would end our civilization if we continue having this mindset where we try to justify having no kids is better than having any kids. Sure there's the economic challenges but people will always be able to change those stuff, if we only banded together when it comes to this things, it's probably going to be alright but we're long way from that from ever happening.
79  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't get it twisted on: May 17, 2024, 03:03:00 AM
That's way of the charts to say that, that's not even remotely related to Trump. If there's a rampant increase of scams in crypto space, the only plausible reason that it could ever happen is because there's a new/novel way that scammers can get to their victim or their victim's wallet, that's it, that's the only thing that will matter when it comes to those stuff. Maybe some old school scammers would use Trump's win in the election as a way to scam people but other than that, people already know about those scams and they'd have some way to identify similar scam with different people that's supposed to be a part of it. I don't necessarily agree with the regulations staying in place though, unless he does like those regulations personally, we might see some improvement or maybe even some form of downgrade/worsening if he doesn't like it so yes, it's not a good idea to twist the ideas but possibilities will always be endless.
80  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CEX or DEX: Which One Rewards You More? on: May 17, 2024, 02:11:20 AM
~
That's not the only advantage of CEX of DEX. I am not supporting CEX in this debate but I'm trying to prove that there are other advantages of CEX of DEX apart from selling coins near market price.
  • Have you considered the user interface of both and see that CEXs are a way better.
  • How about internal feeless transfers.
  • Non technicality of usage
  • Security of the exchange. This might be confusing, but a DEX  which do not have many developers working on it is a menace.
  • I just want both to co-exist in order to get the government distracted.
You're right about those parts especially with the better UI for users, that's going to be expected, they're a billion dollar company, they can't afford to look stupid in their user interface no matter what platform that they're present, they need to have a responsive UI and at the same time make sure that they're not going to be left behind from other CEX. Maybe ease of use can be an advantage or a pro with CEX but most of the time, DEX is easily understandable and you get used to it so easily anyway. Now that you think about messing with the government, I incline to agree with you, there's no way that I want the government to be getting their hands on DEXs, coexistence is a big word though, CEX and DEX are to each of their own in my opinion.
