1061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some rich person not interest about bitcoin for following reason on: November 16, 2023, 07:28:37 AM
That's his decision even after hearing all that stuff that you've talked about bitcoin, your friend is already rich so I don't see how that friend will benefit from investing in bitcoin besides becoming more richer because of the potential profits if he invested in bitcoin. Or probably that friend's already busy with his businesses so he doesn't have a time to allocate for bitcoin and learning more about it. Your friend's concern is genuine too, a lot of whales and institutional investors are competing to accumulate more and more bitcoin and the casual or retail investors don't really have that much they can do about it, you're friend is probably trying to play safe and wants to not be caught in the catastrophe that he thinks will happen.
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to bitcoin price if Solar superstorm 'wipe out the internet'? on: November 16, 2023, 06:43:48 AM
It will depend on the strength of the solar flare, if it is a small one then only the half of the planet that was subject to it will lose all of its electric devices while the other half will remain fine, however if it was an intense one then the whole planet will be affected, however as long as a few nodes survive then that can be enough to bring bitcoin back to life in the case the internet was repaired, however as we have discussed before an event like that will bring us back to the the age before the electricity, the problem is that we do not know how to live like that anymore and we cannot sustain the current population without it, so a massive and widespread famine will happen, and as you can see you will have way more important things to worry about than your bitcoin at that moment.
In the case of a catastrophic solar flare, it's unlikely that a node will survive because how special would that node be for it to survive the solar flare of that scale especially if it's probably just a computer on someone's basement or facility that isn't likely shielded from those solar flares anyway so I don't see how they will be able to survive one. The internet will probably survive if the said solar flare won't hit anything underwater, as far as I know there's already a lot of undersea cable and data storages that's stored in the water but if it will hit it then the internet will definitely go down, this kind of event is something that we can never be really sure until it finally happens.
1063  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there still hope for the price of BTC to hit back $69k this year? on: November 16, 2023, 05:48:13 AM
Bitcoin was able to gain 10k increase in value in just about a month, who's to say that a 32k increase isn't a possibility? December is a pretty neutral month of the year for bitcoin if you look at it's history through the years, there are years when it's a bad month and there are years that isn't a bad month so here's to hoping that December won't be a bad month for bitcoin but if that's the case then I guess just hold on or just buy more bitcoin.
As the market sentiment is showing to us, it was very clear that it was impossible to happen unless there was a so-called miracle event. This year 2023 is not yet a bullish year for crypto where $69k is to be considered on that state but just be considered as a year for recovery. Of course, there is still hope for that but it was impossible to make it this year, maybe next year after halving. Despite the current situation, we can never be mad about it but rather accept the fact that Bitcoin doesn't recover fast and easily after bear season.
There's still a lot of things that can happen, I don't think that a miracle event is needed to happen but when it's not yet the end of the year then we still have hopes that bitcoin will be able to hit $69k this year, maybe in the last 2 weeks of the year and bitcoin still hasn't reached even near that $69k or even $45k then we can finally be so sure that it won't hit the projected number this year.
1064  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: November 16, 2023, 05:21:19 AM
I think people could possibly get "tried" of trading bitcoin and that's why I'm such a huge advocate for making bitcoin a great alternative currency to actual fiat dollars.  Using bitcoin as a currency gives it a whole lot of utility, and therefore giving it more of an appeal to be traded as time goes on.  I think it's important to use bitcoin in transaction as often as possible, giving it true utility that will be traded for many many years to come.
No, I don't think anyone will ever get tired of trading bitcoin it's akin to people who are trading in stocks, the companies from a hundred years ago are long gone but the Wallstreet is still as money hungry as it is so it will be unlikely that they're going to be tired of trading. Also, isn't trading the reason why the market is constantly moving and making it more volatile? So why would people stop trading if that's what's making bitcoin rise in prices, I don't see any future that trading will stop, unless there's an extinction level event or cataclysm happening, trading is and will always be a part of the human civilization. Wouldn't bitcoin plateau in price or dump really fast if everyone just stops trading?
1065  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: November 16, 2023, 04:15:42 AM
If you got a good degree that's going to get you a high paying job like IT related jobs or engineering jobs then you can expect that you will be getting enough income that will sustain you and more but you have to be really good at this jobs though and you need to be smart and good at forming and making connections with people so you can maximize the potential that you can climb the working ladder of your chosen field of work. The name of the university that you're going to graduate can be a factor too but don't hold on too much on that factor. If you are not doing fine but you can still pull a job then that's probably the time that you need to start hustling and finding other means to make more money.
1066  Economy / Economics / Re: How to survive hyperinflation? on: November 16, 2023, 03:48:30 AM
You're thinking of surviving hyperinflation the wrong way, investing in crypto should be at the least 3rd in priority or 4th in priority, your first priority should be looking for a steady job that can pay you a steady paycheck and then in your second priority, you should be finding ways to make your meals much cheaper or even trying to build a small vegetable garden to hopefully alleviate your food expenses, in fact this could be a first priority because it can help you a lot in any kind of situation, can make you independent from markets if you make a sustainable garden. There's already a lot of YouTubers that can help you with making your own sustainable gardens.
1067  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: November 16, 2023, 03:14:40 AM

Why do people have to take sides? Taking sides is what has fueled this war this long. Why do you think both sides always play the victim card? Because they want the public to think they're the one being attacked. Israel has successfully gotten the support of the public and that is why it can do whatever it's doing. Palestine has the support of the people which is why they can attack Israel. These are two people killing innocents, one is only doing it more than the other. So for that reason, we should support the one that has killed less? They're both terrorist groups to me and we can't pick the lesser evil to support.
If the whole world was against what both Israel and Palestine were doing to each other, I believe there would have been other ways to settle their differences.
So you're going to be just fine being neutral in all that is currently happening right now, while Israel is bombing hospitals that are full of children? What kind of bullshit logic is that? Supporting the one that has killed less? Did you think through what you're going to say regarding this issue because that's the most retarded logic that I have seen before, I don't think that it's even a utilitarian logic. You're saying that they're both terrorist group is because you are too stupid to check on the facts and too indifferent to care so you always try and make the safest play. You shouldn't be saying that you believe there are other ways to settle their differences because you sound hypocritical when you pair it with your previous statements. To answer your question on why to take sides, it's because there's still humanity out there that cares about this war ending unlike you who clearly doesn't have one.
~
The thing about boycotting is that it never really works.
Yeah it won't work unless a lot of people are going to do it, the point of boycotting is that you condemn the actions of that company by having a lot of people attack their product and damaging their stocks. Now if there's not a lot of people that are doing that then the boycotts will never work.
1068  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: November 16, 2023, 02:28:29 AM
~
Maybe you have got it mixed up. I didn't say that you should divide them into two sectors and focus on only one. Not every country is blessed with oil. So the main focus and goal should be agricultural sector. Each and every country has the population that they need to feed. Without agricultural improvement, you cannot improve your economy. Hence, it should be the first priority. Because everyone in that country needs food for survival.

But when you are blessed with oil, you need to focus on both of them. One is necessary, and the other one is advantage. In time of inflation, keeping a stable food price is the best choice in order to have a stable economy. So that should be the first priority. And with the oil thing, if you have it, you should treat it same as agricultural sector. Because it is also important for economy because you are gaining foreign income through it by exporting. When you have an advantage in your hand, you cannot improve your economy if you ignore that.
The problem with the oil advantage is that it's not really an advantage because if you are a poor country, then it's unlikely that you will be able to fund the machines, refineries, and equipment for extraction that oil, look at what's happening in countries that are full of oil reserves, they are most likely warzones or is suffering from economical, political, and social instability not to mention that if there's oil there, US is probably meddling in your country's politics or influencing it in some way so they can get a share of that precious black gold. I wouldn't say that oil is an advantage unless the people in charge of the country is a smart one and a capable leader that knows what to prioritize. Also, you can't just focus on agriculture because that would mean that your industrial will suffer that's why I said that you should find a way to meld the two industry together if you can.
1069  Other / Meta / Re: What's AI Written Post? on: November 15, 2023, 08:26:19 AM
~

AI generated text in fact is a sort of compilation of human written texts from Internet, so there's nothing truly non human in there. Grin

Users who use AI are not newbies only, different sorts of scammers and campaign abusers do the same, because they are not interested in making efforts for spamming or posting from multiple accounts.

Will be interesting to read about the results of your experiment. Smiley
Oh yeah, I forgot those fuckers who spam and abuse campaigns, the fact that they're using AI to supplement their abuse and keep up with their post goes to show that these people are stupid and have a limited brainpower because they can't keep up with their posts for their different accounts so they resort to using AI which to me is sad and pathetic, trying to get ahead of the competition but lacking the brains to keep up is weird to me. Don't expect too much on my experiment, it's just a simple one that I've been curious to do since last night.
1070  Other / Meta / Re: What's AI Written Post? on: November 15, 2023, 07:27:44 AM
~

You can check multiple texts of some users you are sure are writing by themselves and look how often a false positive result will occur. You'll see that most users will have 0% of false positives, very few will have 1 per hundreds. So if there are several posts written in a short period are detected by several most accurate detectors it is highly unlikely that it can be false positive result.

Try to do it by yourself. When I try to detect my own texts with several detectors I always get a negative result, doesn't matter if the text is written in English or written in Russian and then automatically translated via online translators. The same for some very reputable forum members who are definitely writing by themselves.
Don't worry, that's my plan. I would post the results here for everyone to see. With the way that you're explaining it though, it seems that AI detection tools are either not yet that advanced to detect AI generated text or AI generated text are so good now that they appear human, that's what I am getting from your reply. Reputable members don't really need the AI help, they've been on this forum for a long time and it's most likely that the users that use AI for their posts are newbies that's trying to find a shortcut into making a quality post.
1071  Other / Meta / Re: What's AI Written Post? on: November 15, 2023, 06:55:13 AM

When you detect something on something you can get a positive (yes, something is something) and negative (no, something is not something). But the accuracy of a detector it usually not 100%, there is a probability of false results. You should keep it in mind when you ask ChatGPT on if some text is written by it or by human being.
I will do another experiment on this one to see if ChatGPT can detect it's own generated texts, I've only done it in one device so I thought I was sure that it's an accurate detector that someone's used an AI on their text.
~
Besides that ChatGPT is not the only one AI program, so there could be texts written by some other chat bots.
I know that, I just didn't mentioned it in my first reply since I've only offered one solution that can work on AI generated text detection.
~
Yep, but it's not ethical to claim all of the AI generated text are yours.

AI only help to comply a history or get a general solution/answer, it's need human hands to make it better.
But the way that AI is learning, aren't they taught how a human writes or asks questions and giving answers so technically it's still human questions that are given it's just that the AI has compiled it to answer a specific question.
~
False positives means you're not using AI, but the result in detector site you're using AI..

While false negatives means you're using AI, but the result in detector site you're not using AI. This happen when you're modified or paraphrase the AI text by adding or remove punctuation etc.
Well, if false positives and negatives exist then the possibility of people being wrongly reported will go up because some people will probably think that if it hits the 80 to 100 percentage marker on AI detection tools then it's going to be an AI? I know that you can still use about 2 or 3 tools to confirm but what if those 3 were generating false positive or negative results?
1072  Other / Meta / Re: What's AI Written Post? on: November 15, 2023, 06:26:54 AM
~

ChatGPT gives both false positives and false negatives, so it's not accurate enough to make final conclusions just relying on the data it can provide. Some natural text can occasionally look like written by AI, it happens very rare and usually you'll get some single false positive on many hundreds of someone's posts, but it can happen. And some obviously AI written texts are too short or too modified to be accurately determined as AI generated, it happens also.
What do you mean by false positives and false negatives? Can you provide me an example so I can understand what you're trying to say, I've only heard of false positives and negatives in a medical setting so I can't be so sure that it's going to be the same thing as this one. I'm not well versed in technology jargons and terms so I am curious about what you're talking about.
1073  Other / Meta / Re: What's AI Written Post? on: November 15, 2023, 05:48:43 AM
Think about it.  Some body comes over to Bitcoin Talk and asks a very specific question about Bitcoin Wallets.  Ten users reply, out of which eight are posts generated by AI.  This will cause a lot of misinformation due to the imperfect accuracy of Chat GPT.  Or, you start a debate and five users are arguing through Chat GPT.  This would be an endless debate between nobody and therefore it is so unnecessary honestly.
It could be argued that if they're using the updated version of ChatGPT, they would probably be able to have a somewhat accurate information which is going to be difficult for someone to spot although you can still see some inconsistencies. Also, if you really want to spot someone who's using ChatGPT for their posts, you can just copy paste their post and ask ChatGPT if they've written that post and they will definitely be able to identify if the user that posted that AI generated post is stupid enough to not change a thing or two about it.
Please, do not even bother trying to use it on the Forum unless there is something actually valuable you are bringing to it.  I think many of us are so sick of bots already.
It's contradictory for you to say that they shouldn't use it if there's no value to it because the response of AI does have value it's just that people don't like that there's no organic thought in it. I don't know about being sick of bots, it's a matter of perspective, if you're benefiting from bots in some way I don't think that you're going to get sick of them but if you're the one that's being inconvenienced by it then you're definitely getting sick of bots, no questions asked.
1074  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can 1 satoshi be worth $1 in the future? on: November 15, 2023, 04:43:12 AM
Sure this will probably happen in the distant future, when $1 is barely worth anything. When future $1 is worth like 5 cents in today's money the Bitcoin price may be $100 million with $1 sats.
You're too pessimistic about what happens to the US dollar, you have to remember that it's still the uncontested global reserve currency and I believe that it's never relinquishing it's place anytime soon despite what many believes, but I do love the dream that bitcoin will be worth $100 million in the near future, I just hope that if that ever happens, I am still hodling a fairly good amount so I can finally get to my retirement and just live the rest of my days doing what I love and travel where I want to be, this kind of speculation makes me want to buy bitcoin and store it somewhere and hope to hold on to it for as long that dream becomes a reality.

1076  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying at 35k? on: November 15, 2023, 03:39:24 AM
What price are you planning to sell your bitcoins or how long are you planning to hodl that bitcoin that you've been buying? Depending on your answer on the questions I've given to you, that would be the answer to your question. If say for example your target price would be around 100k or higher than that as others plan to sell to then 35k is just nothing compared to when you're planning to sell so go and buy bitcoin now, it's not going to hurt you in the long-term. If you are planning to hodl for a really long time like say 10 years or so then you're not going to mind buying now because in 10 years there's a possibility that you're going to see the price of bitcoin in a much higher price than we can imagine. If your answer isn't matching with any of the two example then the answer yo your question would be that 35k is expensive for you.
1077  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy every dip! on: November 15, 2023, 02:08:52 AM
That can't work all the time although it's the best ever, sometimes the price of bitcoin just continues to go up and you have the funds to buy, DCA can help you in that so you don't end up having to wait for months or years and that money stagnating from inflation. We can't predict the market so it's for the best that we adapt our strategies or just make more money in our jobs and save more extra money so we always have money when the price of bitcoin is low.

If you look at market conditions and the surrounding environment with income levels that are still the same as usual, I still want to run DCA rather than saving money in a place that in the end will not produce anything. Apart from that, there is no guarantee that money saved for months to buy something will last without being used, unless there is other income to support it when we need money quickly. So DCA is still powerful enough to be used to buy Bitcoin if someone still really wants to collect Bitcoin in that way from now on.
I clearly said in my post that I support and I recommend doing DCA so what are you on to quoting it and being defensive about DCA? Well, there's a guarantee that your money saved for months will last because I said that we should just make more money in our jobs which should've implied that you will be able to comfortably save money without any worries that you're going to spend it quickly.
1078  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: November 15, 2023, 01:43:15 AM

These companies are investing in both sides and countries that produce military ammo and weapons for war whoever wins, these companies win whichever wins.
It really shows which superpower leader of this world is up for peace and who is actually supporting the war. We could really stop this without having that boycott which is the same as sanctions that don't work.
There's actually a way that you can stop these companies from controlling and profiting from these wars and starting these wars, everyone should march to the streets and go to the offices of these evil corporations and drag the CEOs in the streets and give them the mob justice that they deserve, you might even be able to drag out the entire board if you're lucky, the decimation of the current controllers of these companies will actually be making a big difference because now they're scared of the people that they're trying to control because they know they will fight back now unlike back then. There's no one in these companies that I've mentioned and was mentioned in the OP that is supporting peace because peace don't make them money alone, they have to have those wars to make sure that there's a goal of peace and then they can sell their stuff to help achieve peace.
1079  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: November 14, 2023, 07:37:20 AM
If you know that the company completely standa with Israel then you don't have to ask yourself if you have to boycott them or not, there's only one answer to that, if your military is killing children and bombing hospitals because you thought that the Hamas is hiding there then you know that there's something wrong with that company supporting that country as they like to call themselves. Also, there's nothing wrong with mistakenly boycotting a company, that just makes them speak on the issue so the boycotts will stop, if McDonald's want to stop the boycotts, they just got to take sides.
LOL. I see like almost 5 Nestle brands in that picture.

Nestle has done far worse things than picking sides in any particular war, and people have been boycotting them for decades, but the blood-thirsty company continues to buy up other businesses and hurt more people by making things prohibitively expensive for them.
To be honest, I want to see the CEO of Nestle die in a horrible way, that company is the most evil company there together with BlackRock, Vanguard, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin.
1080  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 14, 2023, 06:58:44 AM
Depends on where you come from because in my country, it's easy to find a service so you can get a loan for your business idea but the problem on that one is it's stacked with tons of paperwork so it's not worth for many people to try it when they could just do a normal work. Maybe because those loan services are working on the same hour as the working common man is a proof that it's difficult to get a loan and most of these loan services have the same days that they're closed when most people also have a day off and another reason is probably because most people don't have the time anyway.
