601  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.3) on: December 16, 2014, 04:15:24 AM
I did the upgrade and it seems captcha is now off / gone, how do I get it back ?
If you did the update correctly you should be able to enable it in the main settings. Actually it should already be enabled by default so make sure you updated your config.inc.php file correctly with the new $show_captcha variable.

EDIT: Sorry it looks like I forgot to include the inc/config.inc.php file in the list of files which need to be updated. Has been added now.
So what do I need to do exactly ? Just copy that file from the existing DL ?

That being said, will I need to save any info from the old file to the new or something ?

Ty.

Edit: Nm, got it sorted out.
602  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos Uneasy about Advertising for Bitmixer.io.. on: December 15, 2014, 08:35:06 PM
Then who's is it? I think theymos is generally considered in charge of running it etc.

Running something and owning it are not the same thing, weather Theymos even ``legally`` owns bitcointalk is largely debatable. The way Satoshi intended it to be was a sort of charity or non profit for the Bitcoin community that would further it, not as a piggy bank for one man. I`m not accusing Theymos of thinking of bitcointalk as his personal bank but I`m just clearing up some misconceptions some of you have.
Which is exactly what it is right now which is the truly sad part.

I thought you added a way to disable but not remove captcha ?

606  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $20 Amazon.com gift card for only $1.99 to charity! on: December 14, 2014, 08:43:01 PM
Merry Christmas. I also saw a 1 BTC donation made from you to a feeding childrens donation organization. Extremely generous, keep it up.
That both surprised me and made me smile all at the same time.
607  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $20 Amazon.com gift card for only $1.99 to charity! on: December 14, 2014, 08:35:35 PM
The blockchain app is givin me invalid address but it's right so not sure what to do.
608  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos Uneasy about Advertising for Bitmixer.io.. on: December 10, 2014, 06:22:47 PM
Bump. The least you can do theymos is reply..
I've barked up that tree at least once about a reply on another post, don't recall if it was ever actually addressed but it was about how he has been sitting on a few k BTC in donations that were supposed to be used for site upgrade which don't seem to be getting done. All though some would argue they are, but in the background where we can't see. While that very well may be true for some items.

How long have Avatars been a no go now lol

Grant it when a lot of those donations were made BTC was low in value so to get certain perks one had to donate a few BTC but the issue with that was / is just how long he's had the funds with not much to show for it at present time.

Sorry for the off topic but the point is theymos will only reply if he feels he needs to, or I should say wants to.

Anyway, back to being on topic, what I don't get is if Theymos really has an issue with them. Then why even allow them on the site anyway because like I said before, he is pretty much letting them advertise for free with their sig campaign. The only difference being the placement of the ads compared to the sigs shown for the campaign.

Advertising is advertising whether it's between every three posts or a shit ton of peoples signatures.
609  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.2) on: December 10, 2014, 01:52:24 AM
Ok I just released BitShop v1.0.3, it is basically the same as version 1.0.2 but contains a fix for that bug which was preventing the captcha from working on IE browsers. The new files can be downloaded from the client file area.

I decided to remove the gen_validatorv4.js library entirely and instead use the more elegant HTML5 'required' attribute to enforce completion of form fields. The only draw back is that old browsers will ignore the attribute, but PHP will take care of it in that case.
So since 1.0.2 is basically the same as 1.0.3 I can just go from 1.0.1 to 1.0.3 ?

Thx.
Well yes, just download 1.0.3 and then update all the files listed in the client file area in order to update to 1.0.2 and then 1.0.3. So in other words, you can just download the latest version, but make sure you don't skip the instructions for updating to 1.0.2. And don't worry about updating the same file twice if it's in both lists.
Thx, just wanted to be sure.

I don't really know anything about the campaign specifics but I'll let you know when I get it / I'm sure Stunna will update us all fairly soon.
I'd like to think I'll make the cut since during the last round and over 40 members got stripped I was allowed to stay in.
612  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos Uneasy about Advertising for Bitmixer.io.. on: December 08, 2014, 04:01:13 AM
Technically theymos is already allowing them to advertise for free by allowing a signature campaign from them. The difference is where the ads, or in the namesake of the campaign, sigs are shown so to me this is just a bunch of nothing.
613  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.2) on: December 06, 2014, 11:39:13 AM
EDIT: actually it is a bug on the checkout page which is affecting all IE browsers. I will get it fixed as soon as I can.
Sounds good but you said all IE browsers yet just earlier you said it was fine in IE8/10.
That's because I didn't understand what you were talking about until you mentioned the popup. I thought you meant the captcha was not being generated at all.
Ahh, Ty.

My inner curiosity was scratching so I had to ask ;-)

Edit: I did just try again and got the same popup. As for missing PHPLibrary. I assume you mean on my servers end but AFAIK I have everything I need library wise and you did say you havent tested IE9.
What popup are you talking about? It's working fine for me in IE8 and IE11, and I highly doubt it's a bug isolated to just IE9, the chances of that are absolutely minuscule but I'll install IE9 when I have time. I think the libraries you need to make the captcha work properly are libfreetype6, libfreetype6-dev and php5-gd. They are typically installed on server machines by default but not always.
Works fine in every other browser I have tried but this is what I get in IE9 as I described.

Notice I did input the code correctly.

616  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.2) on: December 04, 2014, 07:03:19 AM
I mentioned that on the last page. Seemed to be working fine for me:

Quote
Well the captcha is working fine in IE8, Firefox, Chrome, and everything else I try, so I have no idea why it would not work in IE9 (I have not tested IE9 but I see no reason why it shouldn't work). Most likely the problem is caused by a missing php library or something similar.
My apologies, I missed that.

Edit: I did just try again and got the same popup. As for missing PHPLibrary. I assume you mean on my servers end but AFAIK I have everything I need library wise and you did say you havent tested IE9. Just seems bad to lose sales over IE and captcha. Now I know you did release a remove captcha setting but I like captcha. That being said, if you don't look in to the IE9 issue what about maybe modifying the shop to add a remove if IE browser detected setting ?

This way I can keep catcha, have it disabled just for IE and you wont have to think I'm a looney ne more.
617  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.1) on: December 04, 2014, 12:18:57 AM
Ok BitShop version 1.0.2 has been released. It adds Polish and Russian translations along with several minor bug fixes. It also includes the ability to edit reviews and disable the captcha security image, and also has better handling of product deletion. I haven't been able to strike a deal with any payment processor yet so still no altcoin support in this release unfortunately. The files and instructions for upgrading can be found at the client file area.
Did u have a chance to look in to the captcha and IE stuff I noted ?
618  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.1) on: December 02, 2014, 08:30:39 AM
Next release or not isn't an important deal but is it something you would consider as an implementation ?
Yes it's a decent idea so I'll try to include it at some point.
Sweet, and Ty.
619  Other / Off-topic / Help save a small piece of town history. on: December 02, 2014, 08:26:35 AM
Local movie theater that's been around for a good long while may be forced to close if they can't catch up with current systems. Provides discount movies to the city I live in. It would be a shame to see them end up closing due to not being able get new digital systems. They provide a lot of fun for the locals, especially families who want to treat their kids to a movie but can't goto to the larger theaters due to income restraints.

Ps; This is self modded because comments like maybe if someone cant do this or that they shouldn't be spending money on a movie will not be tolerated. Without knowing a particular persons situation, no one has the right to judge so neg comments will not be tolerated and unfortunately we have some not so kind minded people here.

This post is meant to serve as an aid to try and save a small piece of local history.

Campaign will be launching within a week for hero/senior/legendary members. It will then be opened for full/member/jr shortly after.

We have a new payment system that will pay per post and depending on what forum section (Posting in some forum sections will get you more per post than others). The whole process will be fully automated and payments will be made weekly. We will be able to track users characters per post and easily ban spammers from the campaign. Hilariousandco (Bitcointalk mod) will be monitoring all participants and will be ensuring the quality of the forum is not lowered by participants.

We're setting a 50 BTC/month budget on this campaign so we are looking for a lot of people to sign up.
Count me back in !
