1262  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Minion Chip Assembly GB on: July 08, 2014, 05:23:02 PM
Not to try and derail anything but before considering the chip offer. Everyone should gather a calm mind and consider just what the extra costs you will have to end up paying.

Something I found on the MS facebook page.

As far as I can tell, it's 6 chips for each X1. My order is 6 x X1 which translates in to 36 minion chips. If I understand this right. Technobit uses 4 chips to achieve 400Gh/s which means of those 36 chips I would get 3.6Th/s of mining power. Would I be correct in this ? Also, to make these "miners" run stable. What would I need to provide in way of cooling, power supplies etc ?

Basically, you get my chips, Technobit builds miners... and I provide what for safe and effective functioning of the machines ? And what would the associated fees for all this work be in my example ?
It's about $278 USD for each HEX4M so 9 of them would cost about $2500, without considering proper cooling requirements because you're also going to be running minimum 3.6KW and dealing with the heat from that, and you'll need cooling heat sinks for each of the 36 chips so that's another expense. considering your cash outlay for the original 6 X-1's, it could easily clear the $6K range that an X-3 would have cost (with the compensation hashing unit included computing out to close to 4TH/s). so it looks like a wash except that you don't get the case to enclose the whole thing in 1 clean enclosure with a display/touch screen and the controller board with CGMiner already built in. I think I'll stay with BA to produce my machines. It looks like approx. 4 weeks before delivery on these units, and BA & Minersource.net says they'll have all orders processed by the end of the month in 3 weeks. Jus sayin'.......
1263  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: July 08, 2014, 03:57:55 PM
When setting this up or the first time with a new bitcoin installation as well. Should I install the windows client first, download the blockchain which would be about 24hrs if not less, then install armory or install both at the same time then DL the chain etc. ?

Edit:
Quote
Update: If you already have a verified copy of Armory version 0.91 or higher, you can use the new secure downloader feature to get upgrades and/or installers for other systems.  See the next section for more info.   If you don't have a verified copy of Armory yet, you should follow these instructions to verify the first Armory installer you download via GPG.
Armory is used by some of the most heavily-invested, and most paranoid Bitcoin enthusiasts for maximum privacy and security.  If you are in this category, it is recommended you verify that your Armory installers have not been altered in any way.  Armory Ubuntu/Debian packages (*.deb files) are signed directly using our Offline Signing Key (GPG) (0x98832223).  And each release comes with a signed file containing the SHA256 hashes of each installer.   Unfortunately, it is not easy to verify these signatures unless you have access to a Linux machine.  At the moment, the verification procedure on Windows is very difficult.
Even if it is very difficult, would be nice to know how unless in my haste you said how to and I just glazed over it. Or is verification a thing that's technically needed in online systems only or just all around better to do it for online and offline systems.
1264  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Transferable $105.6 coupon from Zeus (bought 2 Blizzards on may) on: July 08, 2014, 05:22:28 AM
It's on sale again,  MoreBloodWine won't use it since he has to spend at least 105.6 excluding shipping and that's was not his plan.

New price: 0.09 BTCs and you get a coupon of $105.6
To be clear, I'd have to buy two miners which I can't do, I would have however added like a random $7 cable to the order if zeus had anything like that for sale.
1265  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Transferable $105.6 coupon from Zeus (bought 2 Blizzards on may) on: July 07, 2014, 09:08:56 AM
Wont redeem unless the order is at or above the value of the coupon even though it is technically that after S&H charges etc.

Coupon is still available for anyone who's looking to buy some stuff from zeus with a single or combined item price of $105.60 or more.

Message from Zeus when I tried to redeem: The minimum spend for this coupon is $105.60.

Edit: Sent Zeus an email asking if they can help so I'm not forced in to buying two miners I don't have money for.

Asked KaT to sorta put things on hold for a day / 24hrs to see if I get lucky on a quick reply.

Me and KaTXi have reached an agreement... finalizing details now.

I guess you gave up on those U2's! Cheesy
I think you mean my X3 order, ya, I cashed it out and bought three dragons which is the equivalent of my X3 order plus 50% comp BA offered. Dragons were / are the better deal anyway because even if I got the X3 last thursday when the Dragons came online. It wouldnt have mattered because I wouldn't be seeing the 1Th comp for a while. They say they don't wana dish out comp til Batch 1 & 2 have been shipped and closed or some shit like that.

So right now with everything I got I'm pulling 3.2+ Th/s. Will be over 4Th/s when my X1's show up. That order I can't close out unfortunately. I mean I could, but I wouldn't see a refund for a long while if at all.
1270  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: July 07, 2014, 07:26:53 AM
I think the only way you could improve the accuracy of the calculators is if they had current data from each of the pools and you would have to tell it which pool you were using so it could adjust for your % of claimed hash power and how that compared to the other workers in that pool who have more speed as well as where your pool factors into the network speed. BIG DATA
Well, for the most part the calcs, the few I have used always seem be petty accurate.

Day one with the dragons I got like 0.1 when we had 15 blocks, the 5th I got 0.085x with 12 blocks,the 6th you already know... and that's doin the 24hr thing my way. The rest if under, I just chalk up to luck.
1271  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [11000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: July 07, 2014, 07:07:30 AM
See that's where the true current vs. Charted Luck Graph get thrown off because the luck chart and 24hrs. Earnings quickview both update as the first "Closed Shift" drops to the second line. Hence the difference of 20% vs. 40% at the time with respect to who's referring to what set of numbers. Good thing we got those last two blocks in. Now if all the pools could gain some credible ground in speed against the private farms and manufacturer's we'd be back in business.
Either way, ending the day with 0.07x isn't bad when it's supposed to be 0.095x, I mean it coulda been worse but I still wish we would have gotten like 2-3 more blocks yesterday.

But ya, that's how I look at my, what I consider true, 24hr earnings.

In addition to my last reply, your on a diff timezone than me if I'm not mistaken which means you would read diff 24hr values.

For my timezone we have 1hr 40min left in the day / til midnight which begins a new day, so there's still time to get more blocks and raise todays earnings for me.

Edit: If you go by the thing on the site: 24 Hour Earnings 0.07894652

Then yes it looks like I'm doing ok which I am, I just do my 24hr figure for the given day from midnight to 11:59pm... 24hrs in the sense of the current day.

I'll update the post above at midnight to show earnings (all blocks paid) for today, Sat. July 6th 2014.
Well...the 24HRS Earnings label on the cover page is tied to "Closed" shifts and it looks like you want to calculate up to current day 24hr earnings which would include 10 open shifts. The calendar day is over but those 10 open shifts are still potentially growing.
What I wanted to do and did, to calculate what I consider 24hr earnings is get the blocks found and paid for that given day, like I did for yesterday the 6th.

1275  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] CurseVoice Closed BETA Keys ! on: July 07, 2014, 06:36:01 AM
After reading the Q&A, the keys can be bought via my store using the following link: Spend-ur-Bits.com

Up for grabs are some Curse Voice Closed BETA Keys.

Q: Why would I buy a key when I can just request access from curse ?
A: While yes it is true you can do that, your not guaranteed to get in. Where as with one of the keys I have for sale, your granted immediate access to it.

Q: I tried to buy one from you months ago when you first made a post about it but I never got it, why ?
A: Well, this was when I was still experimenting with my store and there was some payment gateway issues. No payment ever went through because of these issues. If it did go through, you would have gotten your key literally seconds after the payment was sent.

Q: Who handles our payments ?
A: Everything is handled through the Coinbase.com API.

Q: How much do the keys cost ?
A: Each key costs $6.88.

Q: How much BTC will each key cost me ?
A: Well, that depends on the quantity bought obviously, but the store uses the BTC-e 24hr weighted average for conversions.

Q: Once I buy a key, how do I redeem it exactly ?
A: You redeem your account key by visiting this site: CurseVoice BETA

Q: Ok, you've answered a lot of other questions so far but you haven't said just what the hell CurseVoice even is... what is it ?
A: Curse Voice is a product that should resonate with all online gamers, and specifically for now League of Legends. Curse will be adding support for additional games in the future!

Here's a look at a few of the cool things Curse Voice will let you do in League of Legends:

  • Keep track of champion ultimate cooldowns and know when they're ready.
  • Automatically track the respawn of Baron and Dragon when you have vision.
  • Easily create and share voice sessions while in queue or during champion select.

Curse Voice integrates fully into the League of Legends client, providing you with an unmatched overlay experience in addition to helping you push your game forward and coordinate with your team.

More info can be found by visiting the CurseVoice BETA site.

Q: Ok, so how exactly do I get my key ?
A: Simple, you can purchase as many keys as you wish by visiting the following site: Spend-ur-Bits... be warned though. There are only 10 in stock so act fast before they're gone.

Q: Will you use the feedback system here on the bitcointalk.org if I can prove I bought from you ?
A: Sure I will but you will have to provide me the code given to you via PM (publicly posted codes are ignored) to prove you purchase from me, so don't lose it once you get it if you would like feedback here for your purchase.

Q: What if I have more questions ?
A: Simple, just reply to this post or PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Ty for your interest.
1276  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.0) on: July 07, 2014, 05:47:27 AM
Nah I'm not going to include that mod in an official release, I think the Categories page should be the way to get more info abouts the cats, and I just don't really like the look of it. Plus that side menu is on every page, and that mod is too intensive to have it load on every page. But don't let me stop you from using it.
Fair enough, but what about the image thing I also mentioned ?

If nothing else, 8 images in two rows of four would be nice.

In the meantime even if you don't include it. Could you maybe tell m what the code would be to be able to use 8 images and have a lin break after the 4th since as I said before. The 5th as it stands gets side squished.

Ty.
1277  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v0.9.9) on: July 07, 2014, 05:11:34 AM
Anyway, now that all that's been settled... any info on these things ?

Just curious ;-)
In addition to my previous reply, any news on this ?
Quote
Also, how can I use more than 5 images / thumbnails per item and have them break after 4 on item view since the 5th gets squished due to set frame size in the code ?
I'll look into it.

Found it looking for this code so I can re-edit side.inc.php... any chance of this making it into the official release ? It's a rather nice addition if you recall why I requested it.

Replace this line:
Code:
                    echo "<li$c_active><a href='index.php?page=cats&amp;id=".$category['CatID'].
"'>".$img_html.' '.safe_str($category['Name'])."</a></li>";

With this:
Code:
					$total_cats = count_file_cat(safe_sql_str($category['CatID']));
$sub_cats = get_scats($category['CatID']);

if (!empty($sub_cats) && ($sub_cats != 'N/A')) {
 while ($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($sub_cats)) {
if ($row['Active']) {
 $total_cats += count_file_cat(safe_sql_str($row['CatID']));
}
 }
}

                    echo "<li$c_active><a href='index.php?page=cats&amp;id=".$category['CatID'].
               "'>".$img_html.' '.safe_str($category['Name'])." ($total_cats)</a></li>";

Apparently you were right and I never considered that, deal went through. Refreshed to confirmation screen back at my site shows as completed from admin and via coinbase.

Log on coinbase shows up 200 ok.

Refunded payment as before, that all went fine. Would be cool if the Status from the order page showed as refunded but not sure if that works like PayPals API where it sends a callback for any trans.

Either way all the coinbase stuff seems to work fine.
1279  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.0) on: July 07, 2014, 04:57:32 AM
I believe a 500 error is what should happen when you click the Test Now button, because it's not providing any legit transaction data to the script. If it's a 200 error it probably means your callback secrets don't match. A 301 error must have something to do with your .htaccess file I'm guessing.
In that case, I'll make the link so it gives a 500 popup. Buy myself something that I already own and see what happens lol.

Will reply back after latest test.
1280  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v1.0.0) on: July 07, 2014, 04:27:04 AM
Install didnt do anything.

Even tried 755 & 777 permissions on the callback.php file.

So it looks like everything works but this damned API thing so, maintenance mode here I come ;-(
Maybe try to get a screenshot of the error so I can better understand what is happening. It may just be a bug with the coinbase code, you might be the first person to try it. I looked over the code and made a few small tweaks, but I couldn't see any problems with it, however I'll try it out myself later when I have time.
Not really an error to post, from: https://coinbase.com/merchant_settings

Go down to where the URL is set, hit Test Now button and no matter how I phrase the URL... I either get no popup or popups with a 301 or 500 error.

I looked at the callback.php file and it seems on a successful test I should get a popup with a 200 ok message.

Only time anything ever shows up in the Coinbase logs, Log button far right of Test Now button, is when I get the 301 or 500 error popups.

Also reset callback.php to 744
