1541  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Raffle: 180Gh/s Avalon... backed by Kluge's Escrow, low ticket price ! on: March 09, 2014, 08:57:56 PM
After talking to Kluge I have since decided to lower ticket prices to just 0.05 each which is just over a $30 investment to win something worth over a grand.
1542  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v0.9.9) on: March 09, 2014, 11:35:27 AM
Ok, so couple of suggestions I'd like to see in the next release.

1) When viewing categories via admin, if you used an over size image. It resizes fine and looks good on the home page, but you get the big in your face version in admin. What I would like to see in the admin area if the large image resized just like it is on the home page.

2) When viewing the categories tab, everything looks like this: Software Keys (2)

I'd like the see the (?) added to the category "block" on the left side as well.
1543  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Raffle: 180Gh/s Avalon... backed by Kluge's Escrow, new low ticket price ! on: March 09, 2014, 11:26:27 AM
No. Just 'no'. No, no, no.

what's the project? all your p0rno subs running out at the same time?

who wants an underperforming-sounding avalon? i'd pay the binmen .1 to get rid of that shit. summer's coming, and i'm deaf enough. and avalon fffffs

ffs learn to spell

ok, i know it's hard, you need escrow blah, too much work blah, but the ticket price is too high. just accept that and move on.

does not bode well for the project

so ... no
Times like this I wish I made it self moderated, if you don't see the value of a $60 ticket to win an item worth two grand let alone keep your lude comments to yourself then go see a shrink.

As for the hashing figure, I'm being real about it and not trying to blow smoke up your ass. Just about every machine on the market that's around the 200Gh/s mark is advertised as such with a +/- 10%.

I just chose not to title it that way !

Edit: I even lowered the ticket price to 0.085 BTC so it works out to a lil north of $50 per ticket, either way you still can't really argue with that price and the possibility to win a $2k machine with just one ticket at a cost of just over $50 which depending on ones setup is mined in about 3-5 days if not waaaay sooner like someone who might have like 1Th/s or something.
1544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what BTC price would you feel comfortable paying for a raffle ticket for... on: March 09, 2014, 05:22:12 AM
I've since reworked my math and managed to make my goal still work all be it in a smaller way, that said I am locking this post for the time being.

New per ticket price is 0.1 which at current Coinbase pricing is about $61.60 per ticket, even less if prices continue to drop all be it at a snails pace.
1545  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Raffle: 180Gh/s Avalon machine... proof it's backed by Kluge's Escrow ! on: March 09, 2014, 04:48:31 AM
If the tickets were 0.02 I might get a few but cmon. Bitmain Antminer is 180GH/s non overclocked and costs 1.11 btc shipped.
Ok, so the value adds up and yes I sort of went over that in the original post, but even at 0.2 at current BTC value. Thats an entrance fee of about $120 to win a machine with great value.

I have also since created this post trying to get some serious ideas.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507556.msg5598890#msg5598890

Edit: Fee lowered to 0.1 per ticket !
1546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what BTC price would you feel comfortable paying for a raffle ticket for... on: March 09, 2014, 04:07:52 AM
Could do it in large increments of 0.001 tickets?
I said realistic lol but that would be waaaaaay to much work for both me and kluge.

C'mon guys, I'm trying to be serious here to help yes myself, but also someone here win a 180Gh/s Avalon machine.
1547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price would you feel comfortable paying for a... on: March 09, 2014, 03:44:49 AM
I'd value it at around £600.  So a £4000 raffle is completely dreaming.
I edited my original post but what I was asking is what one would value / feel comfortable paying as a per ticket price in BTC.

Also, I'm not trying to value the machine at that, it's more or less explain in the post what I'm after just not in a lot of detail.

As that posts stands in its current format, one has the chance to win the machine for just a 0.2 BTC per ticket price.

Ok, so at this point in time since the post just went up today it's too early to say what will happen with the raffle but it got me to thinking. That said though, if I do end up having to lower the ticket price to gain interest, at what price would you guys feel comfortable paying per ticket to win the machine ?

Please be realistic about your replies / figures, Ty.

Edit: What I'm asking is what you would value a per ticket price in BTC.
1549  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Raffle: 180Gh/s Avalon machine... proof it's backed by Kluge's Escrow ! on: March 09, 2014, 01:52:50 AM
Well the expected cost is 0.2*50 = 10BTC and I can buy a brand new 200GH/s miner for about 1.8BTC so the maths doesn't add up.

Simply use the block hash of the block in which the last participants transaction is contained. Take this hash and pass it through a modulo 50 function and add 1. This will give a random value between 1 and 50.
Well, as I said in the original post, I know it adds up to a lot and some may bark at that but it's about what I need for a project.

The matter of fact is that it still comes down to this...

With just one ticket purchase at 0.2, anyone has a chance to win a machine that hashes solidly at a constant if not better 180Gh/s that's currently valued around / slightly north of two grand and with BTC prices slightly dropping. Depending on where prices are at the time of someones bid it's will cost them 0.2 BTC obviously but in real world value, what, $80 - $120 ?

So again, it still works out to a fair deal... I suppose after some time if nothing pans out I may drop the ticket price some but if I do then it would hold steady at not ending before all 50 tickets have been purchased.

As for the hash thing, the modulo thing is geek speak to me but I'll definitely check it out and more than likely use it as a fair means of choosing the winner. FWIW though, say we get to 35 tickets and I decide to call the raffle winner at that time, what would one do to draw a number between 1 and 35 since what you pointed out before would draw a number between 1 & 50 ?
1550  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Raffle: 180Gh/s Avalon machine... proof it's backed by Kluge's Escrow ! on: March 09, 2014, 01:24:11 AM
You won't find 50 mugs stupid enough to go through with this so what happens if you only get 10. How long will it be till they get their Bitcoins back.
Stupid ?

It wont close before 30 - 35 tickets are sold. At least I'm using Escrow and not coming in as a newb trying to run a raffle. FWIW, you wouldn't say it was stupid if say theymos was running it... but then again you might so who knows.

Also, how is it stupid that I'm running a raffle with tickets at 0.2 ? It's a more than fair ticket price, even kluge agreed with that... not like I'm asking 0.5 BTC a ticket which would be nucking futs.

You say you are going to use a random number generator, that isn't good enough because your mate could be one of the participants and you could rig it for him to win. Why not use the blockchain to generate your random number?
Also, not gonna happen that way but I'm open to the blockchain idea if someone could explain how it would work against the sold tickets list.
1551  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Raffle: 180Gh/s Avalon machine... proof it's backed by Kluge's Escrow ! on: March 09, 2014, 12:02:22 AM
Next time Kluge is on he will reply here with a list of 50 truncated addresses that are to be used for ticket sale thus proving this is a legitimate raffle being backed by his wonderful Escrow service.

Edit: For those of you not too familiar with Kluge but are with TomatoCage and his Escrow service, kluge comes highly recommended by TC as an alternate Escrow service provider !
1552  Economy / Games and rounds / Raffle: 180Gh/s Avalon... backed by Kluge's Escrow, really low ticket price ! on: March 08, 2014, 11:33:41 PM
Ok, so first let me start by saying that Kluge and his Escrow service have agreed to back this and here's how it works.

This is going to be a raffle to win my 180Gh/s Avalon machine. It's going to consist of 50 tickets at just 0.03 BTC each, so if you wanted to say enter twice then you would buy 2 "tickets" at the total cost of 0.06 BTC. So with just one entrance fee from you at just 0.03 BTC you have the chance for an amount that's a lil north or south depending on current pricing of a $20 investment to win a $1k+ machine.

Anyway more to the mechanics, basically how this will work is this...

Assuming you want one ticket at 0.03, you would send your funds to an Escrow address provided by Kluge to which I have a master control list of (addresses already provided to me by Kluge). Upon your completed payment you would be entered in to the list below which I will do a mockup of. Once all tickets have been sold I will use a random number generator to choose the winner, I'll get to how that works in a minute after the mockup.

1. MoreBloodWine TX ID: 12345678asmdf823 (The id of the payment)
2. MoreBloodWine TX ID: 12345678asmdf823 (The id of the payment)
3. TomatoCage TX ID: 9orourtytjyvbrtn
4. Dr. Haribo TX ID: lunib6tnohryu
5. Dr. Haribo TX ID: lunib6tnohryu
6. Dr. Haribo TX ID: lunib6tnohryu
7. Dr. Haribo TX ID: lunib6tnohryu
8. Dr. Haribo TX ID: lunib6tnohryu
9. Dr. Haribo TX ID: lunib6tnohryu

Ok, so above you see the mockup of how the list will work. So upon all 50 tickets being sold I will use a random number generator that will choose a number between 1 & 50. So if say 6 comes up, then the good Doc would be our winner since 6 was one of his numbers.

Now some of you may also be asking, well, what happens if this doesn't pan out or you (me) decide to back out because the machine broke or something. Well the answer to that is very simple, you would all be refunded and Kluge would still be compensated by me for his time in handling all this which includes refunds if applicable.

So ya, that's pretty much it and if any of you have any questions I invite you to please ask them here and I will respond inside of 12-24hrs.

Lastly, if you want to keep the TX id's private that's fine but I will still need it to keep locally here on my desktop. If you want to keep your username / identity private, that's a different matter. That can still be done it would just mean keeping a separate list in my inbox that I would share with Kluge so we both always have the same accurate info. You would just show up in the main list here as "Protected". Upon the winner being chosen though, I will need your full name, address and telephone to coordinate shipping but that will all be handled via PM.

Oh and before I forget, upon a winner being chosen, you will have 72hrs to get back to me after I contact you about winning. Should you not reply after the 72hr mark. Your entrance fee will be considered forfeited and I will go back to the random number generator to choose a new winner. So only bid / buy a ticket if you accept those terms.

Ty & good luck to all entrants !

Ps; You will only be added to the list of registrants after your payment has been verfied by both me and Kluge. Now I don't know what his schedules like but I work from home so can always be here at least once an hr to check in provided I'm not out of the house with family.

Kind of sucks that new users can't even have an avatar and seasond users are stuck with the avatar they already had. What if I some one gets tired of their avatar?

You can add a message under your avatar saying that you have officially disowned it.
Lol, I just wish I could have one, I even sent Theymos a message saying I'd pay him a bit of BTC to go in and add one for me but apparently he's to busy to even give me the time of day whether he says hey buddy sure, or piss off and leave me alone.

A lot of unnecessary abuse going on here.
Ya well unfortunately some people seem to always be having bad days and just get stuck in dickhead mode.

58.27 / 650 = 0.08964615 to eight decimal places

That's what I was after, I've had a very long day and am tired as all hell so please don't take the title to heart and think I'm an idiot which is what I kinda elt you were hintin at with your wording.

Surely you've been so damn tired that you forget simple shit.

In any event, Ty.
1556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Stupid question but, whats the math to... on: March 07, 2014, 12:00:30 AM
Stupid question but, whats the math to figure out how many coins I would need to sell to make say $58.27 if one whole BTC is worth $650 or even something like $587.23 ?

Want to add this equation into an excel sheet for auto calculating.

Ty.
1557  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v0.9.9) on: March 06, 2014, 09:52:10 PM
There may be one last shred of hope for you, if you have logging enabled on your database then there might be a file which contains some of the recent queries, and if you're lucky it might contain the original query with the full encrypted private key before it was truncated. If you do manage to locate your database log send it to me and I'll see what I can do. But I've got to get some sleep right now because I've been up all night, so I'll help you out when I return.

And I'll send you a 3 year license key when I return.
That I don't know, you may have to give me some commands to run in PuTTy and check but this key woulda been encrypted a lon time ago. Ok, not so long but I think late Jan / early Feb.

I also host several websites so it the logs not database specific then chances are it wont have anything in it i I even have the extended logging enabled or w/e it is your talking about, but ya, you might have to walk me through it via PM later.
1558  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v0.9.9) on: March 06, 2014, 09:40:10 PM
Well by the looks of it you increased the number of bits in the RSA keys when you generated them and that led to the problem. Since that seemed to be the problem I thought I might be able to decrypt the private bitcoin key but then I realized that the encrypted string had been trimmed by the database automatically when it was inserted because it was so large. So it looks like your bitcoins are probably lost after all. You really should have tested it before you went live, but it's partially my fault for including the ability the change the bits in the RSA keys, I'll have to remove that in future versions of BitShop to make sure it's not increased beyond what the script can deal with.

I probably did without realizing it, as for the bold bit, not to be a dick lol... so free lifetime license on BitShop for me then ;-p

Or at the very least a nice uprade from my 1yr ?

Quote
Kinda worried how this will play out if the coins are lost because refunding something I don't have is out of the question and even if it wasn't would be a big loss for me, even though the same could be said for the buyer.
Well my advice would be to give the customer what they bought or some how refund them because it wont be good for business if your first sale is botched. Just use future sales to recover your loss.

True, I'd rather hold the item since it's limited stock and work on a refund though, either way he's gonna have to sit pissy for a while ;-/

But if you can somehow manage to get that pr key unlocked, feel free to take half as a ty and incentive to try everything under the sun.

Is there any other way to manage encrypt and decrypt without keys that could wrap the empire state building and become potential problems ?
It's only a problem if it's not set up correctly, and RSA encryption is the best type of encryption to use for this purpose because you don't need to store your decryption key on the server, so even your web host cannot access your private bitcoin keys. Plus your keys were only so long because that number of bits had been increased.

Still worth asking but maybe like you said remove the RSA edit thing and if posible, add a quick and easy way to test keys.

Quote
FWIW, when a pr key is successfully decrypted, if there any way to have a QR code shown for the pr key for things like the blockchain app to scan ?
I'll probably add something like that in future versions of BitShop, it's a good idea.

Probably lol, if ya like the idea then Git r' Done as Larry would say.
1559  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v0.9.9) on: March 06, 2014, 08:59:23 PM
Well if it's working after you changed to new RSA keys then that probably means there was something wrong with your old keys. You might not have copied the public RSA key into the SCI config file properly. More than likely though you didn't copy the full private RSA key properly when you generated it (many people seem to do that for some reason). If that's the case then the bitcoins are lost.

EDIT: yes PM me all the info, including your old RSA key set (both public and private) and the private bitcoin key you're having trouble decrypting. I promise if I manage to decrypt it I wont steal it. Lol.
At this point I'd toss you a big fuckin thankyou if you helped me out even though the buyer may want a refund so lets see what happens.

Kinda worried how this will play out if the coins are lost because refunding something I don't have is out of the question and even if it wasn't would be a big loss for me, even though the same could be said for the buyer.

Is there any other way to manage encrypt and decrypt without keys that could wrap the empire state building and become potential problems ?

Maybe something like passpharses or w/e ?

Also, I know (really freakin hope) I didn't copy it wrong because I always "cut" when doing things like that (select all, cut / ctrl x) and the box was empty after cutting.

Edit: FWIW, when a pr key is successfully decrypted, if there any way to have a QR code shown for the pr key for things like the blockchain app to scan ?
1560  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BitShop - digital bitcoin shop script [PHP/MYSQL] (v0.9.9) on: March 06, 2014, 08:28:20 PM
Edit: I did notice when viewing the actual order in admin, it shows the private key hash but no address in the address box if that matters.
That probably means you didn't save your public RSA key into the sci/config.php file. The instructions were clearly written on the RSA key generation page for how to set it up. If you haven't included the public RSA key into your SCI config file then I don't think you'll be able to recover the private keys.

EDIT: oh sorry I read that wrong, you're saying it shows the encrypted private key but not the bitcoin address? I haven't seen that problem before, you might be able to recover your private keys if they were encrypted properly.
That's just the thing, pub and priv were saved just fine. When I go to use the decrypt key I get that cipher thing. I got a item sold email from the shop with the address and I can verify the amount on it via blockchain. It's just what I suspect is the private key for that address wont decrypt.

I've since replaced the keys and did a test sale, worked out fine. So future sales should be ok. but my first ale ever seems to be locked and it's not for a small amount either lol

Edit: It's a long shot but at this point a hale mary is all I have, can I PM you all the info ?
